Start standing with one foot about a foot in front of the other so your stance is staggered. Loop the resistance band underneath your back foot and hold one end of the band in each hand, elbows.Place the band across the soles of your feet.
Keep your spine straight and hinge forward at the hip, hands at either side of the resistance band. Reach your arms back, lifting the elbows upwards with straight arms. Keep your elbows high and inhale to bend the elbows, resisting the pull of the band.Bent over rows are great for strengthening your upper body. They primarily target your back muscles, but you will also use your arms and shoulders.
STEPS: Step on the band with your feet shoulder-width apart to create tension in the band. Bend slightly at the knees and lean forward over your toes. Keep your back flat.
Single-Arm Fly for Upper Chest, While Planking. Similar to the above (same rep structure, too), only it’s a single-arm chest fly instead of a press. TIP:protect your lower backby keeping your glutes active (tighten your buttocks) and your navel pulled up and in tightly.
The seated row works your upper and middle back, as well as your biceps. For this exercise, simply sit on the floor with your legs extended, feet touching each other and the resistance band placed beneath both feet. Start with your arms extended and then pull the ends of the resistance band towards yourself.Stand firmly on the band with the band in the center of your shoes. Bend your knees slightly to stabilize your lower back with your palms facing out and your arms extended down.
Pull the band up to your shoulder joint and resist it going down.Stand on top of the band with your feet and knees together. Hold the handles at your shoulders, then bend your knees and hips as far as you can to “sit” in the air, keeping your torso as erect as possible. Hold here as you press the handles up overhead to full extension, then lower slowly to the start.
Any upper body workout needs bicep curls (even from the NHS), and resistance band workouts are no different. To do it, you need to anchor the resistance band, probably by standing on it to ensure it doesn’t move. Once you’re comfortable with an underhand grip, pivot your elbows so the focus is where it should be, and lift the band!This upper-body resistance band workout, designed by Fitness First trainer James Capon, hits your muscles hard by using the 21s methodology.

As if you read my mind. I wanted to strictly workout with resistant bands lately as a break from my usual weight routines. With high reps, these 20 exercises fried my upper body. Plank lateral raise, curl to tri ext, back flyes(ouch! in a good way), lat pull down, chest flye, single arm row…my favs. And of course, the “piese de resistance” is Kiwi with her own resistant band at the end:)
I used a fabric band which was harder. Next time I will switch to use rubber bands.

This is a tougher (and I’m sure more effective) workout than all the ones I’ve tried by huge guys with huge muscles. As someone who has taken up weight training after 65 I can vouch for the fact that muscles don’t necessarily atrophy as we get older. I have developed more muscle in the last five years than I’ve ever had in my life by working out at the gym a couple of times a week. This workout is every bit as serious as anything I’ve ever done in the gym. Thanks so much for this.

After a strong injury, both a rehabilitation process and my return to physical activity was usyng elastic bands and garters.
Now already recovered likewise I include them to intensify my routine and make variations that allow me another type of work and thus complement my muscular work.

Great video, well presented, great selection of exercises, great help to ease shoulder tendonitis. the pace on the video is a bit quick because I like to do more reps at a slower pace but you can easily pause it at any time and do more reps at your own pace. great emphasis on posture during the exercise. cheers.

One of your best and most useful videos. Resistance bands are the ultimate tool when it comes to rehabilitation and are one of the most overlooked alternative methods of muscle stimulation and activation. Just imagine what could be achieved if some equipment manufacturer would come up with weight training machines that incorporate resistance bands for the negative portion of the movement…Ever since I started having problems with my shoulders I have included a resistance band warm up routine before my workout which has helped immensely. I have even gone as far as incorporating resistance bands into free weight exercises like the bench press (both flat and incline) and even with lat pull downs, either with a single band underneath the bench or with dual bands and dumbbells opposing them vertically at each end. The results are amazing. Better muscle mind connection, better muscle activation and no more injuries. The bands’ elastic nature mimic the structure of the muscle tissue itself making the resistance force more subtle and more familiar to our nervous system. There are no sudden spikes in the force vector acted upon the muscle. It’s hard yet smooth and effective.

When I travel I bring my resistance bands. Normally I do strength training at home with weights but this video is just as great with the bands. Worked out all my arm muscles, I feel the burn all around.
