I haven’t finished the video but I didn’t see the photo you were talking about when you mentioned it. But otherwise thank you! I needed to hear this!
lose body fat..just eat low carbs and eat more fats and protein..thank you
Not weighing myself made me gain weight in the past. Weighing myself made me accountable. But I agree it’s best To weigh much less frequently. As a former morbidly obese person, I have To weight once a week to maintain my weight. But I agree, it can be obsessive.
As a chronic weight obsessed woman who jumped on the bloody scale first thing in the morning, I strongly recommend everyone with the same ‘disease’ to liberate themselves once and for all from those meaningless, fluctuating numbers.
A litre of water is 1kg / 2.2lbs so yeah agree that obsessing over every pound is futile.
You’re just absolutely stunning. I’m a girl 20 years younger than you and I genuinely think you look 27. Your mind is also clearly so sharp.. fasting is wonderful!!!
Charlie gave you a shout out on his Apology Comments livestream
I fully agree that the scale should be used. It’s a tool to let one know if the changes they made is working or not. This goes together measurements as well. Without that information, it’s like being in a boat with no paddle. You will end up somewhere, but it might not be where you want to be.
To be honest I feel best when I weigh every morning. I have an app called happy scale. It shows me a running average & has taught me so much about my body. It doesn’t effect my mind at all.
so true..when i stopped weighing myself, i was able to control my weight better and it stabilized
Hey Irvy, one thing I’m frustrated with is counting calories. I know I need to do it but I’ve checked into quite a few apps and each one of them gives me a different calorie goal for the day and I can’t put in my own calorie goal. How can this be? How can they all be so different and still claim that I will loose weight? I’m talking between 1344 to 2100 calories…that’s quite a leap..How do you know which is right?
You should become a life coach or personal trainer. You are so motivating and inspiring.
I’m shocked by the comment of griffin or should I say troll what a cow. But anyway your fine and you always speak such sense. What’s your opinion of counting calories on Omad? I use a counter app and at times I find it counter productive because I too snd throw between thoughts of maybe lower them just a tad it will make a difference or then thinking well “everyone” says you should have this number of calories or you will starve and yes i do let the number on the scales affect my mood as well
Im with you on this, eating disorders are not a joke and obsessing over a number can be so destructive, also you look really happy, no one should judge your appearance I find it rude, the only thing that matters is that your mind and body are healthy and happy!
I love your videos and your a beautiful woman 154 is NOT bad at all! But you need to eat get some meat on them bones! No disrespect
Your way too skinny now you look anorexic, need to gain like 15 pounds
Liked and shared… Can u make a videos on “How are calories calculated from food”?
Toss your scale…And bring it back to learn how to measure your BMI/Body fat percentage
This advice only makes sense once you are already in a healthy weight range. If you are obese and trying to measure progress, keep the scale and schedule your weigh-ins! Once a week in the morning is good or however often you need to stay motivated.
So many awesome tips on one show, love shows like this! Keep it up!:)
I have a question, what happens when you go to the doctor? You have to weigh yourself there…
yes..lose the scale..it will make you upset when the scale is not on your side
my doctor keeps telling to loose weight, but he does know i have a under active thyroid its very upsetting every time i go for my yearly meds review i have been going to the gym for just over 12 months just right now i am starting to tone up, but i cant do much as i have arthritis all over my body, so my hubby and i are cutting down our food
It’s funny, usually the only time I eat junk food is when I weigh myself & I don’t like the number..it gives me a reason to give up.
I only weigh myself around twice a month.
It took me a long time to get rid of my scale addiction. I love not having my life dictated by that number!
While everything you say in this video is valid, I disagree slightly with you. Yes, weight loss is a numbers game, but it’s also a mental game. You need to stay motivated in order to keep with the numbers; if you plateau for a while it can be frustrating and make you want to give up, which doesn’t get you anywhere. Giving up the scale for a set amount of time can be good if it keeps you from getting demotivated, but you still need to keep doing everything else! And again, I stress for a set amount of time, or even just weighing less frequently.
It can also be good to take a break from the scale for a while if you find yourself obsessing over it, or your weight in general, since eating disorders are never a good thing!
I just started following you. I’m a little older.(Had to ask my teen son how to make this comment) I really liked what you said. I need you in my life. I’m so glad I found you for my weight loss journey. I love your “give to me straight” technique.
