I make Amish squash casserole and it calls for cream of mushroom soup not sour cream and then ritz crackers on top. So good!
Looks wonderful. Thanks for NOT putting sugar in it. Pretty often when I have it here in Houston people put sugar in it. Sugar is for desserts. In fact, so many put sugar in every dish. I’m not of that side of the family. Gotta try this.
I love squash casseroles! Have to make it like this Hedy…just makes my mouth water!
That casserole looks so good! Great way to use summer squash and I love cheese too! Wonderful combination of ingredients. I’ll try this very soon. Thanks for sharing!
Oh Chef that looks amazing I’m going to try and make a gluten / dairy free version, thanks for sharing
I loved your video and surely would love to sit and eat that with you and hear stories about your Mama and Grandma. <3
The closest thing to my grandmas recipe i have found. Thank you❤❤
I once tried to crush an entire sleeve of crackers…ended up in a full body cast for a month.

Thank you Chef Buck, I’ve looked at 2 other yellow squash casserole recipes on U Tube, but they didnt look very appetizing. Yours looks the best. I’m anxious to make it. I’m Mexican and am adding a jalapeno to your recipes for that added kick. I can’t wait to try it. Thank you again. My love❤ to your precious camera girl. You two are hilarious in the cutest way so I’m actually getting my dose of comedy plus a super recipe. yum. God bless you both
Yumness! I never heard of this before. Love it. I am from way up north good to see these southern recipes.
That is taking squash casserole to a whole new level. Look at that creamy goodness
This is a recipe that could be for anything, cardborad would do. Adding crackers, cheese, onions, egg, lots of butter to anything is delicious. But it is not about squash.
wait 20 minutes?? but casseroles are even better the next day! gotta try this recipe.. ditch the cream of mushroom soup
Close to my recipe, I use club crackers and 2 eggs and milk but I’m going to try the sour cream and carrots!!!
You’re a hoot! This looks amazing will be making for dinner! Still laughing at thin as camera girl’s patience and don’t jump to the half sleeve crush you’ll lose self esteem… . Thanks for the recipe!
Sounds good…..might give it a try. I’ll use Italian Bread Crumbs…..
Yup just picked 10 pounds of squash so this will be a side dish this weekend. Looks Fantastic!!! Thanks Chef
Oh yum sounds delish! Thanks for recipe. It looks amazing will try it soon! ❤️
would it work with green squash? I never tried yellow squash, but i would guess it taste and feel much the same
Garden is about to explode some major yellow squash heaven for all my TLC. This will be THE perfect recipe to have ready to go! Thank you!
I made this dish today and it was pretty good. I made some mistakes. Didn’t cook squash in the pan long enough. I drained the juice when I shouldn’t have. Not enough salt. Overall it came out well. It just needs some tweaking.
Looks delicious Carol! I think I will make this dish for thanksgiving. Something different from the traditional things. How many lbs or squash would you think would make 10 cups? You may have said but I missed it.
Thanks!!!
The recipe looks fabulous I also enjoy you talking about your family and seeing your bowl and your spoon and you talking about them I treasure many of parents’ cookware as they’re no longer with us and it just makes me so happy to use so I totally understand. Glad you’re back love your videos.
I’ve always boiled mine…im going to have to try this! I’ve got mine in the oven as we speak. Lol
I have mostly just used squash with bacon simmered in a pot. This looked great with all that cheese and sour cream. You really squashed this one.
Looks yummy! I love how you talk about your mum and family and I also love your casserole dishes! Hi from New Zealand xx
Just curious… Can this be frozen? Would it become liquidy when thawed?
Hope this isn’t too dumb a question, but if Panko is crumbs from a crustless white bread, couldn’t we make our own?
Again a great vid. I’m like you love spicy so I’ll use some pepper flakes while cooking the squash. And soda crackers lol a southern term. ❤
Yay!!! Thanks mine is always to watery! Will try next weekend! Thanks camera girl and chef Buck!
I don’t remember subscribing but I’m glad I did. You’ve got great dorky dad energy
I literally burst out laughing when u asked CG whose was better and she gave u the death stare.
Finally I have all of the ingredients for one of your recipes! I got a bunch of yellow squash in my grocery order yesterday. Yesterday I also made you a sloppy joes and they were divine just divine!:-)
The half sleeve cracker crush was quite impressive as was the casserole. Thanks CB.
I like this, but will limit the bread crumbs. Draining the squash is a good thing. I have tons of squash in the garden!
Awesome Squash Casserole recipe, Chef Buck! Congrats on hitting 20,000 views too! A lot of people love it I guess:D

Looks so yummy. But I’m too lazy to cook with oven. Will definetly try this when it get cooler. Temp been over 105 all this week, today was 109 today . Tfs.
Summer squash and some aren’t. Glad you used a clean broom Chef and pretty impressive how you skipped the quarter sleeve cracker smash and went right to the pro level. Beautifully done as always and fun to watch. Thanks for sharing. Hey have you ever watched Sam the Cooking Guy? If not I think you might enjoy his channel. Very entertaining. Have a great weekend!
Use a clean broom to sweep up the spilled squash and put it back in to cook. I would, but the dog grabs it before I could get a broom. LOL
Great recipe, a red pepper diced would give it a little pizaz, maybe.
Never met a squash I didn’t like! This looks really good, yellow squash is on sale I noticed so it must be time to try this one! I haven’t been able to grow anything here in the Las Vegas area since we moved here 16 years ago. If the heat doesn’t kill it then the tree rats will eat it! Horrible creatures that live mostly in and around palm trees, some are the size of a small house cat! So for now I have to buy my produce. Another good substitute for sour cream is plain Greek yogurt, I can’t tell the difference not only for baking but even on baked potatoes. Which is great because just eating plain Greek yogurt with fruit or granola, for me, ain’t happening. So I use it instead of sour cream, best of both worlds! Thank you so much for sharing this new and yummy recipe for squash. Be Safe and Blessings.
Morning kids! Had to get up early to walk my little guys before the temperature gets to be 8000° hotter than the surface of the sun.
This looks delicious. Love yellow squash. Making a shopping list. This is going on it. Yum!
Hope all is well with you two!
P.S. Yes there is a wrong cheese…….goat!
Looks super delicious! Neighbor has a ton of squash-like veggies in her garden, so I think I’ll go say hi. I’ll tell her Chef Buck sent me.
Oh my goodness! That looks so wonderful I will have to give this dish a try. Thank you for sharing
Well, you two did it again! Offered up a delicious idea and a big dollop of humor as a garnish! Thanks so much for sharing your recipes. Enjoy your weekend!
I can only imagine how much weed you smoked in hs and college. #metoo
Love the channel.
Make camera girl make one of her family recipes?
Chef Buck and Camera Girl, you guys rock. I love squash! When I had a yard I used to grow the round, patty pan/flying saucer squashes. Just cut ’em in wedges and steam ’em in the microwave, yum.
Thank you Chef Buck. That looks soooo yummy. I love squash. This looks easy, and delicious.
Must be hard to wait even 20 minutes with that beautiful dish sitting there just waiting to be tasted! A winner, for sure! TFS! Stay safe!
That really looks good! That was impressive the way you squashed those saltines. Camera Girl’s face when you asked her whose was better, priceless.
I Will try your version. I also add zucchini and use Ritz crackers. Thanks Chef Buck and Camera Girl. How about a Good Pulled Pork recipe in an Instant pot?
Looks so yummy! I love making this dish for Sunday dinner. I’m a Southern Belle myself, from Atlanta Georgia! I like to crush up a bag of seasoned croutons to add to the top along with more cheese. LOVE the video!! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
You mentioned putting paprika on things. I found Paprika potato chips in Iceland. They are very good.
p.s. I could listen to that lovely southern talk all day long. My Mama grew up in the Smokies. <3:)
You know it’s Saturday when Chef Buck is cookin’ up a storm!!
Thanks! I’ve never made this before but will now. It looks delicious.
I enjoy Saturday mornings on the back patio with a cup of coffee and watching Chef Buck and Camera Girl! Be Blessed you two!

-Susan
Trying this 2nite. Only? Is did you cover this or no while baking? I made this and it’s very good!!! Thank you for the video!!
You mentioned in the video to add an egg…not in your line up of ingredients for the recipe.
For how many degrees is it set in the oven, and how much time?
Look at the dog.( 8:02).”Did you drop anything for me”LOL. GREAT CASSEROLE!
Welp, I know what I’m making today. Ive done drooled. Thanks Chef Buck and CGs Mom! Cheers!

I always enjoy your videos. Is there anything I could use other than sour cream?
Looks good just get to the dish heavy southern talk hard to understand some of the talk will make it soon
im not an expert, but i think this recipe is based from a Greek food recipe called mother in law or something, like when a girl was about to get married she had to make this recipe to her mother in law and get accepted:)
I made this today and all I can say is “YUM”…. This is my new favorite casserole.
You do not have cream cheese listed on the recipe for this casserole.. how much do I add?
