The treatment of muscle sprains and strains has two main goals. The first goal is to reduce swelling and pain; the second is to speed recovery and rehabilitation. To reduce swelling it is recommended to follow use R.I.C.E. therapy (Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation) for.The best way to prevent sprains or strains is to keep yourself in good physical shape with regular stretching and strengthening exercises so that your muscles, ligaments, and tendons are.
RICE Method. Rest by taking an adequate amount of time to heal and avoiding physical activity. This can help strained muscles and other injuries. Ice your muscle by using cold packs with a barrier between them and your skin four to eight times per day for 20 minutes at a time. Compress your muscle.
To treat sprains and strains, the basic treatment comprises a two stage process abbreviated as RICE and MSA. RICE stands for rest, ice, compression and elevation. MSA stands for movement, strength and alternate activity. RICE is for immediate injury while MSA helps to heal the injury and avoid further problems.
Preventing injury is always better than treatment! Use these four tips to help prevent muscle injuries including pulls, tears, and sprains. Warm up your muscles properly before exercising or moving heavy objects. Just 5 minutes of light stretching can protect you from injury.
1. Control Swelling With RICE Therapy. RICE stands for: R est the sprained or strained area. If necessary, use a sling for an arm injury or crutches for a leg or foot injury.
Splint an injured. How to prevent muscle strains You can decrease your chances of straining a muscle if you take some basic precautions: Try not to sit in one position for too long. Take frequent breaks to move.
Sprains and strains happen to the best of us. Basically, the difference between the two lies in what has been injured. A sprain happens when your ligaments, which is a tissue that connects two or more bones at a joint, is stretched or torn.
A strain on the other hand, is an injury, where your muscles or tendons are stretched or torn.People can take regular breaks and stretch to release the muscles. Not all sprains or strains are preventable, but with proper aftercare, people can ensure they do.Can I prevent sprains and strains? You can help prevent sprains and strains by: Avoiding exercise or playing sports when tired or in pain.
Eating a well-balanced diet to keep muscles strong. Maintaining a healthy weight. Trying to avoid falling (for example, put sand or salt on icy spots on your front steps or sidewalks). Wearing shoes that fit well.
A muscle strain is a small tear of muscle fibres and a ligament sprain is a small tear of ligament tissue. The body’s response to these sports injuries is the same in the initial period immediately following the traumatic incident inflammation. All of these traumatic injuries cause.
Sprains and strains are caused by accidents. People don’t plan on becoming injured, but there are some practices that may help prevent injuries. Muscles need to be warmed up before exercise and work.
A stretching program is helpful in minimizing the risk of injury.A Proactive Approach to Sprains and Strains in the Workplace Prevention is, of course, better than treatment. Sprains and strains are a painful and unnecessary experience that we want to prevent.Tips to Prevent Muscle Sprains and Muscle Strains Always indulge in any sports activity when you are alert rather than when you are worn out or tired. To prevent tripping, run on a flat surface.
Take healthy diet so that muscles become strong.Moderate strains may take 3 to 7 weeks to heal, and severe strains that involve a complete tear of the muscles can take longer. In genera.

Is it possible to tear or pull your chest muscles from coughing?
Hurt my back when lift my laptop. Got to a doctor and had xray. Doctor said something about lower bone dislocate to the left, caused by muscle strain. Pain is everyday, even when im resting. The pain start from upper back, lower back, buttock and thigh. I cant sleep. Already 6 months
I get a really painful stinging sensation under my breast. Is this exercise that I should be doing for my condition?
Please reply asap. Thank you
So the real question is, what do you do first when this muscle strain happens?
Do you rest for a couple of days?
Do you start massaging the area?
Do you start these kinda exercises right away?
Hi Bob and Brad, what is the exact mechanism behind the cross fibre massage? Is it to break the adhesions?
The moment he said ibuprofen.. i quit watchin another clown that refers to fkn ibuprofen for everything… useless
When I touch the injured upper pec i feel something weird inside and it’s tight that I don’t feel it in the other pec,is that normal?
Just tore my calf muscle today and found your video. So very helpful! Thank you!
TIME TO GET RID OF THE T SHIRTS TO SEE THE WORKING MUSCLE/S THANKS FOR VIDEO…
Hey guys, I injured my calf playing racquetball about eight years ago. I did the whole RICE treatment process on it and got it to heal. About four years ago I reinjured it and went through the process again. Now, I have reinjured it again but I am in a different situation because I did so while working (jumping in and out of a truck while delivering packages). Unfortunately I do not have the option of resting and laying off the activity which reinjured me, because I need to get a paycheck. What can I do to safeguard myself as much as possible?
What about the center of the chest pulled muscles in the center
I pulled mine a couple night ago now when I go for walks & cough it hurts bad is that normal?
I play soccer on the weekends I was kicked outer mid towards the front on my left leg and my muscle is really tender…is this kind of the same thanks
Thank you so very much, the doctor showed me quickly one stretch to do but I forgot and this video gave me the tools I need to take care of this pain. It’s bothering me day and night.
I have a sharp pinch under my left armpit from pulling down on a bar in the gym. I went to the ortho he said it wasn’t a tear it was a strain but its been going on 6 weeks and still get the pain doing normal day to day activities (haven’t been back in the gym) When will I see some healing with this?!
I was doing push ups as conditioning for my boxing practice and I was sore from the day before, once I tried to do it I got about 2 push ups done and then instant pain on my chest towards my shoulder. (kinda like where an undershirt strap would sit) and im scared I pulled something or tore something. I just know there’s something wrong.:(
i think i pulled a muscle under my left boob, CAN THAT HAPPEN OR AM I SICK?
Why do I feel like I cant get a full contraction of my right pec and it feels weak. Please any feedback is appreciated
The massage advice was particularly helpful. Breaking up scar tissue is an undervalued aspect of recovery and regaining a full range of motion. Sometimes, one can feel as though they are still hurt, when it’s really scar tissue getting in the way.
Pec major muscle partial tear. 9mmx2mmx8mm. Would You consider this a server strain?
All of a sudden while lying in bed I felt the pain more toward the center and it hurt to breathe. Could not determine what caused it as I do not do any bench pressing. Maybe I turned too abruptly and cause a strain. Appreciate these stretches and hope it will subside.
Hello all I need help if possible, in the last three weeks or so I have developed a severe pain in my right side chest muscle that really is not an issue at work during the day but at night when I roll over during sleep it actually makes me yell out in pain. Also if i’m laying down and use my left elbow to raise up with the pain that it creates on my right side outer muscle? of the chest is some of the worst I have ever experienced. I recently had lab work done and the notes from the Doc said great job keep up the diet and exercise so i’m sure its not my ticker. I have a fairly physical job where I lift 50 pounds many times throughout the day and nothing that I have done at work has caused me any discomfort. I’m 54 with no medical conditions but I am about 30 pounds over where I should be and fairly agile for a fat boy, thanks for any input and have a great day.
This really help man, immediately my arm is moving much smoothly and without restriction. Thank you!
How soon after the strain should start massaging it. And how long should you ice it for.
If you have a calf injury/tear can you continue to exercise on a stationary bike if it does not produce discomfort or pain? Or would that slow healing? I don’t want to get to de-conditioned……..
IT’s been just over a month and my pec strain has gotten worse? Seriously I want to start training again. How long will it take before i can start training again?
Thanks for the video. I’m a 22 year old male. About 2 years ago I tore my left pec major bench pressing. It would heal in 4 months or so then kept getting torn again when I tried to train it. I do your massages about 3 times a week and stretches but nothing seems to help. The doctor recommended pt but dont think it will help because it’s inner muscular. What should I do? Thanks! I just want to be able to train again injury free
Incredible and efficient insights gays thx for your knowledge!!!
My left pec major tore in 2001. I shoved a large guy hard against a truck. I heard crushed cereal at least twice, then walked away. The tearing didn’t hurt yet. Within 20 minutes, I couldn’t raise my arm without pain. I went home and carefully removed my shirt and manually lifted my arm. I saw a purple clot the size of a silver dollar. I applied ice and rest. A few days later, it drained. My chest turned purple, brown, green in some areas and it drained down my left arm. It was a difficult transition, having to reduce my weights in half. 3 years later, I got an MRI to see what happened and if there was anything that could be done. My pec major was torn straight the belly. I still have the sternal and clavicular heads. That left front deltoid grows a lot more than my right, to help compensate for the loss. For the last year or so, I used Painless pumps to help fill in the depression and it does a good job. I have to make sure I pull back and there is no blood. I have to refill my oil implant every 2-3 weeks. I did notice there was less pull on the left front delt.
11 months ago, I tore my triceps longhead. Again, I heard that crushed cereal sound. I may have close to 50% strength in the back of my arm. I don’t know if it will come back or not, but I will continue my therapy. Some tears heal all the way and some don’t. I tore my left triceps after my chest injury and it came back. I had a.45 bullet pass through my right triceps and it came back. I tore both quads and they returned. It all depends on how much. If it’s less than 25%, you’ll probably get most or all strength back with time and work. If you try to work too heavy, you risk tearing something else. There will be exercises you use to do but can’t anyone. Have to event new ones that don’t hurt.
As for my chest, I was hoping my tendon came off the bone and it could be reattached, but that didn’t happen. A good orthopedic will tell you you can’t sew muscle to itself there. A sneeze could pull the stitches loose. Like the guy stated in the video above, where it tears, scarred tissue will form and attach to either side, but it breaks. Mine broke when I was doing decline dumbbell chest press, then my left triceps made that awful crushed cereal sound. I’ve never had an injury from the gym that I didn’t fully recover from. The bad ones seem to happen outside.
I have have been doing this tissue rub. I watched this video a while back after my arm injury. My dead tissue is near my elbow. It has reduced since. I just practiced this on my chest, an old injury, where the tissue draws towards the sternum and it seems to help it relax, not pull as much.
I don’t know if this was relevant, but both my left chest and right triceps use to be my dominate muscle groups.
is it possible in one year baby?? She is obese.may be she get this while we lift her from shoulders??
Thanks. When I pulled my calf your video helped. I thought my chest was healed but after finally doing my calisthenic routine after a week of healing I woke up to it feeling like I ripped it again I guess I need more time and shoulda been rubbing the muscle fibers
Hi! I am a 14 year old young girl. A few years back I started getting a pain in my left pectoral area. I feel as if it heels for a few weeks and then it is back again. These days it is VERY bad. It bothers me with almost everything I do but it mostly pains me when I do physical activities. I have been to a doctor and he told me to rest it. It seems to only get better temporarily. I am becoming very worried… Will it ever heal?? Or Is it too late?
Can i do close grip bench press and overhead press with the exact same minor tear(after workout i was sore there more than im muscle and i have slight discomfort)
I’m a gymnast and my shoulder is hurting and I can’t move my head to the left I think I pulled a muscle
I felt it tear jussssst slightly, didn’t hear a pop but a slight tear I felt, gonna baby the crap out of it
I started having pain in my right chest muscle 2-3 hours after a bike accident. I had x-rays done, but I didn’t tell them about the muscle pain because it didn’t start until after I left. I figure I just strained something when I landed.
i injured my anterior sternum while working out, now when i wide open my arms or lift anything over head or push down my hand against any rigid object while sitting straight, i feel pain on the right upper chest and interior lining of the chest. please suggest what to do?
waiting to get an MRI to see the damage, but its been 6 weeks and my pectorals major is still bunched up in that tangled fashion, I’m very concerned because I’m supposed to compete in a powerlifting meet in JUN. On a good note i can perform weighted pull ups, 30 push ups in 1 set, and i attempted benching 135 for 3 sets of 10 reps while massaging in between sets and had no pain. i stopped doing everything because i don’t want to make it worse…. any other advice? also thanks for the video ill start massaging it 3x a week.
I pulled my pec muscle but my lat is also in a lot of pain. Is that because of the pec?
After open chest surgery 3 years ago I just cannot build up my pecs. I am skin and bone. every time I try lifting weights I get pain. What can I do to build them so I do not get pain?
Hi, i think i strained my right pectoral a while ago during a chest workout. The weird thing is when i go back 4 days later, the pain is gone on the first and second exercise but then it comes back.
I tore my calf so I got me a kneading shiatsu massager. It’s like having my own physical therapist on-call 24 hours a day.
I strained my left pec last night during a heavy set on bench. Being stupid I decided to drop the weight and keep going and as soon as I un racked the weight and started the movement I felt something tear and the weight just went to my chest. There was no visible bruising the next day so I feel as if its just minor. Do you have a rough timeframe for how long i should stay off of it?
I have pain in my armpit that changes places. Sometimes it is the armpit, sometimes it goes to the lower part of my pec (the side) and sometimes it goes under the lower head of the biceps (most of the time). It began after a chest workout when I felt some discomfort on the side of my chest between it and the seratus anterior. It was like the shirt was pinching my skin but it wasn’t the case. From there on I couldn’t contract my injured pec like I used to for 3-4 days. It was actually contracting but i couldn’t feel it, like I had no muscle. I have no mobility issues and my strength seemed to be normal the next week. From there on I began to train light for the next 4 weeks but the pain comes back when I go heavy and overtrain. I feel the pain very well when I hang from a bar so that my pec stretches. I am not sure if it is the pec or the coracobrachialis musle because when I press on it’s tendon i fell the exact same pain on the injured side of my body.
Thanks for the video!
Strained my chest muscle two days ago rock climbing. It’s still a bit sore to the touch (mostly near the armpit), but the pain has reduced significantly. When should I begin massaging and stretching during the healing process? So far, I’ve been trying to just rest and ice as much as possible.
Also, any advice on how long to wait before lap swimming, or how should my muscle feel before swimming again?
I recently got injured in the calf! I got kneed hard while running and it hurt real bad but I kept on playing, it’s been about a week and I can barely stand straight. Is this normal??? Is it muscle Tare? Please reply
I just tried this on a sore calf that always gets very sore after long runs and it released the tension in about 2 minutes. It went from hard to walk to like nothing ever happened. Thanks you two!
Great work bro!!!! Just love the way you mix art and information! Super stoked to find your channel! Pura vida!
Omggggg, i was waiting for you to upload for so long.
Please guys like the video, you already know how hard he is working to give us content like this.
I haven’t been able to sit for a week because pain in knee and side leg. doctor says it’s just a calf strain.
I tore my chest muscle 3 months ago n it’s still hasn’t healed..it heals and when ever i do some activity the pain comes back
hello, I’ve been having a muscle strain in my sternum area for over a year, would this work? what other things i could do if this doesn’t work? thank you
Hi
I strained my calf a week ago today AND I’m still swelling Is that normal. Also I started yo walk today about 800 hundred to 900 STEPS a day. Am I doing the right thing by walking so soon. Really like yours vídeo Is very informative, thank you
g
I had a second degree chest muscle strain during bench press. I relaxed for about 30 days but it did not go away. So i started deep massage with a physiotherapist. I have done until now 2 massage sessions. At the second session the massage was very painful. Is it normal to feel such pain during the massage? Or must i stop? I have a third session in 2 days and i have arranged for 10 massage sessions.
hey sir, can i ask you guys some questions. i think i got my chest muscle pulled and it occurred a year ago. for the first six months i still used my muscle even though it had very much disrupted my performance during gym time. for this last 7 months i’ve been rested from any activities (i used to play soccer, jog, swim) but the pain is still there, sometimes there are spasms in my chest and the weird thing is often my chest kinda vibrating by itself. already done ECG test, X Rays and all the results are okay. do you think your method in the video can help my recovery? Please HELPP
Where are these fellows from in the US? They’re fantastic! The “Calves” and the “Calve-Nots”! Lol!
Could You please explain to me if a sprain /strain in your lower back is it the same as a herniated disc with a pinched nerve?
I do gymnastics and I fell 10 feet and landed on my neck. I think I pulled a muscle in my chest. I don’t know what to do. I’m 11 btw
Hello! Great stuff! I’ve been dealing with chest problems for the past few years now and like you described with your own chest injury, it has continued to flare up. Is there a way I can give myself the massage you demonstrated? And how important is the exact motion of the massage?
Great info I will definitely start these exercises today but was curious on your thoughts to foam rolling it!
This is really great. I’m 24 and am a beginner weight lifter. I tore my chest muscle, according to my nurse and she recommended me this video. Thank you.
thank you for your prompt response….I will keep watching you!!!
Nice but my pull is right in the rib cage. I got better but then I just messed it up again. Any Idea how to fix that?
You guys are doing a great job. Your videos are more than helpful. Your jolly attitude does half the healing . Keep up the good work.
Please help me I’m having that exact same pain but near the Sternum in my right peck it happened when I was bench pressing…. the Question is, is it requires a surgery on not?? cuz it was hurting like hell at first but aftre a few months it got fine but huts from time to time….pleas help me.
I have pain in my right pec but, not near the armpit but the upper left corner near the sternum and clavicle. Any suggestions?
You guys are pretty goofy, but I appreciate the information you posted about a torn pec muscle. I injured my right side after a particularly strenuous pull-up workout and, like Bob, I keep re-injuring it. The massaging technique will certainly help the healing process. Thanks again.
My chest really hurts not super bad but when i touch it or sleep on my front or back this only happen today i don’t think its a heart related it may be muscle pain i don’t know but maybe its from swimming. If you can please respond.
i dont know.. you will reply or not you will help me or not… but i have faith in god.. may god bless my mom..
I seem to have strained my pec minor which has caused it to tightened chronically and anterior tilted my scapula. I’ve been stretching and doing alot of pulling exercises and scapula exercises. There is no pain in my shoulder but its clunky and feel out of place. I guess my general question is: Is it better to stop doing chest exercises entirely or do some light chest exercises just to get the muscle to actively function? I heard that using your muscles would strengthen and lengthen it (as opposed to just not doing any activity about it). I don’t want to re tighten the muscle but then I’m worried since I haven’t done anything chest related for months now.
Nice vid guys. A few weeks ago I received a severe blow to my chest on the right side playing soccer. After that I had a sharp pain when I would move around particularly when I would reach down with my left arm to pick up an object. There is also a popping sensation in my sternum which didn’t happen before. I saw an orthopaedic and had an MRI. They concluded no fracture, torn cartilage etc. I’ve returned to strength training since the pain has lessened a bit but it still persists. And I notice there’s a small groove in the muscle on the right side of my sternum where the pec connects. I feel pain here when prodding around with my fingers. Just wanted to get your thoughts guys. Could it be a inner pec tear?
Gentlemen,
My son has experienced what he calls a buzzing feeling as he increases his velocity in his pitching motion. It starts from his nipple area and extends towards his armpit. He also has the same “buzzing” feeling down his forearm from the elbow to the wrist when he pitches. The chest is sore the morning after. Suggestions and advice would be appreciated.
Hey if you think you may have tore a pec muscle but theres no busieing and not really no deformity and you have full range of motion should you be worry cause it hurts after a week
I was bench pressing today and heard a terrible sound from my chest. It is very sore, and I cannot even do a push up. I believe I tore the muscle you guys are talking about. When should I begin doing this kind of treatment?
Bro what the hell I just literally sat on my bed and got it in a matter of seconds. Even breathing hurts!!!
every time I run it feels like the back of my calves bones are gonna snap BOTH OF THEM and it’s been Happening for 2 months now:(
Thanks a lot guys. I’ve been doing the massage with Penetrex cream. I also try to ice my chest 3-4 times a day.
I have been doing the stronglifts 5×5 program for two months now. The other day, during the bench press workout, my right chest just sort of crumpled while doing my second set (thank heavens for the cage!). The weird thing is that I don’t see any bruising on my chest, but I do see a dark bruise on my right bicep. There’s no pain whatsoever on my bicep or anywhere on my arm.
But doing this message with icing, advil and ibuprofen has made a marked difference.
I just came across your video. (mine is to tender to massage) I’ve already been to the dr, told her I injured my pex muscles really bad one day working out almost a year ago, I was doing some fancy tricep stuff and Boom my muscles felt like they threw themselves forward and back. I took 4 weeks off then and been fine ever since Oct; now I have pain, tenderness, muscle spams like on left side toward center, popping sounds and cracking sounds in the middle. I can’t lay flat down that is very uncomfortable. The dr did say my muscles were inflamed and gave me medicine for that and chest xray was fine (but I don’t think it shows the muscles does it or bone) Is this a strain, a pull and how long will I need for these pex muscles to be strong again and stop causing me discomfort? I am still working out with weights, not heavy and I’m not doing Chest but I do know we use our chest muscles for everything. I can’t just do nothing. I am a 46 year old, small frame female who has been working out for 2 years. Healthy and fit was and is my goal.
lol pulled muscle by playing beat saber. thanks, well see if it helsp lol
Over the past couple of weeks there’s been discomfort near the end of my right pec leading towards my armpit. It’s still there and not really going away after not working out my chest the last two or three upper body workouts. I’ve benched 340 a little over a month ago, and since the discomfort started, I still did 315 for a few reps and 225 for I think 14 reps. The point being is, I still have full function but I very much feel discomfort and can tell I should stop working out my chest.
I would think this would be a light strain. I’m getting it checked out on Thursday. Because I am able to hit my normal weight, would you say doing these massages and exercises would suffice if I don’t target my chest for the next few weeks?
Wondering if anyone else is dealing with a longer term injury over months that seems to come and go, sometimes painful with pressure but then sometimes not there at all? My injury is partially on the sternum area and can feel crushing to sharp sometimes, radiating to the left side of my chest. It’s possible I did it in the gym and I haven’t lifted on my chest in months besides one time which seemed to exacerbate the pain. I’ve been the ER to rule out any cardiac causes a few times but I don’t know what to think. Any tips or anyone sharing my situation?
You can also use a small ball (such as a tennis ball) to massage rather than fingers. 😉
Can you provide any scientific literature that shows that manual therapy can break up adhesions?
How often should you do strengthening exercises to rehab your calf?
“If it’s up here, uh, it just doesn’t happen that often” is the area I pulled @ 1:40
What if it hurts exactly where the fibers connect to the sternum? Please help me doc:(
Your explanation of the non-aligned muscles was unique to the web and the amount of time that you spent on “self massage” was just enough to help us stick to a trial. I’m a convert. As a former recreational bench presser who probably tore a few muscles, I think I’ve been waiting for your advice for 40 years. Tkx
I just wanna know is it normal to feel something in your armpits when you pull a muscle in your chest
is it normal to feel sensitive/bruised after doing the massage?
My arms, lower back, and bottom part (butt) are suddenly sore and weak after zumba…
I’ve had this soreness in my upper chest near the armpit for the past week. It’s not really painful but annoying. How long does it take for it to go away on average?
I have “Intercostal neuralgia strain”, can i do exercises like push up, pull ups or dips? Which specific exercises should i do and not do to cure this? Tks, pls response.
FYI, push up using the knees is called modified push ups not girl push ups anymore. There are many girls who can perform more push ups than some boys.
it help a little thanks but need more explaination how is that happened what is the common cause?
Hi.. some 2.5 weeks ago I felt tightening of my chest and shortness of breath, went to the doctor, ECG was done, no heart issues,I was told it was a strain chest muscle due to the lifting more weight in the gym.. I took pain killers for a week, iced the pec muscles and rested.. it’s definitely better than before but not completely normal, there is still a dull pain at times in the daily activities.. and sometimes a little more.. I wanted to know how long will I take to be 100%..? what stretching should I do to increase my motion and how to speed up my recovery? please reply
Thank you!!!! I have the message gun and it hurts for a bit and will continue hopefully it starts to get better
i got this sharp pain in my chest when doing dips like i pulled something but it was not that painfull so i thought i would just give it some rest and it would be fine. i can actually feel like a hole on my rigth pec on the inside where it would connect to the bone. i do not have this hole on the left pac so something is definetly broken or torn. this has not fixed itself after 9! months of resting, if i do any normal benchpress, dips or flys that shit is hurting and i am not as strong as before either. i can do upper benchpress tho so it does not affect the upper part of my chest. anyway i went to the doctor with this and he said just rest it… like wtf i already did for 9 months it is not fixing itself. feelsbad. he said some stupid shit like it could not be a tear because than i would have felt it more. i have a partial tear 100% but he denied it. feelsbadman
Awesome content and well explained! This one is a highly underestimated channel.
4 weeks ago I performed a diamond pushup and felt a sharp muscular discomfort on my left pectoral region. Since that time, I’ve felt a throbbing sensation from the lower right area (nipple area) from the left pectoral muscle. I’ve used cold compress, but still feel that pulsing sensation.
I’ve had an EKG, visited with a cardiologist and MD. Heart rate is normal. Blood pressure is normal. How do i stop this annoying throbbing, pulsation sensation? Doc says I can still do low impact cardio, but I hesitate because I don’t feel comfortable with this sensation.
I plan on starting yoga, tai chi, but I want this pulsation to end. It bothers during sleep as well.
Any suggestions?
What if the pain somewhat originates at the armpit, but deep, so for sure still related to the pectoral muscle. I experienced this today, after bench press, and had to end my entire workout.
Been suffering for about 5 weeks..
Then I just did the massage thingy..
It bloody worked!!!!!!!
The pain is barely there anymore..
Of course I gnashed my teeth together and dug deep into the painful pec tendon.. but it worked!!!!!
Thanks a ton!
I lifted something heavy a long time go and my right chest hurts idk if it’s a tear or sprain what should I do?
You helped me locate the strain and gave som great exercises for me to do. Thanks!
Feeling better already just by doing the massage as prescribed. many thanks!
I remember watching this two years ago when i torn my chest and here we go again…
So ya I tore my left pectoral minor on a bench press about 10 months ago. It got better to the point where i could do mass training (high volume, lower to moderate intensity/weight) but not strength training (heavy weight or high intensity). Until last week I legit did a bloody floor chest fly with a messily 15 lbs dumbell in each arm. Felt a slight pain in the injured area.
Not once did I feel anything on bench before this, I even got back up to 185 for 12 again. Not a bit of discomfort. Until the STUPID BLOODY FLOOR FLIES OF DEATH.
Gonna do this to make sure the injured area doesn’t rip open again if it hasn’t already.
Hi Bob and Brad, so I can bench over 400lbs, but while I was warming up with 380lbs, the weight went up extremely easily, but on the way up, I heard a little pop. I’m being told that it was either a strain or a slight tear. How long should I stay away from heavy benching and will I ever be able to bench heavy again?
I’d really appreciate your input.
Thanks.
I am 37 years old. Two days a go, I heard/felt a popping sound in my left leg, specifically in the back of my left knee pit, as I was walking to the train station from work. I had some immediate discomfort but actually no pain. My body immediately adjusted and began to shift it’s weight to my right leg. So I have been hobbling around for the last two days to and from work. I find that when climbing and descending stairs my range of motion is still normal but my regular walk has changed into a slight limp on the left side. I think it might be plantaris tendon rupture. There are not many videos anywhere about this kind of a tear but the one video I found on youtube did say that it is a vestigial muscle and that eventually it will go away and my normal walking gait will return. Since you are both Physical therapists can you verify this and also will your 20 minute massage work in the same way?
Just what I did the other night working out. Real sharp pain. I hate laying off my workouts. The massage and bands worked great for a shoulder strain also.
This is the perfect video for my situation. It has been very aggravating to have gone to pt for a few months and my pain to mostly go away then for it to just to keep coming back. It makes sense that massaging the muscle is crucial because that was the part that seemed to help the most when I was in pt. I’ll give this a try and see how it goes, it’s just really nice to have you explain exactly what has happened to me it gives me hope. Thanks guys hopefully this works
What’s a good range of recovery time one should expect for rehab?
Great advice. Especially be like water and be present. Can relate to that
Hurt mine like 5 years ago and it still bothers me even after doing PT for a few months. I’ll be sitting at a restaurant and it just will start to ache. Otherwise I have full mobility/strength and it feels fine. Should I do more of the massage or stretching?
Really great guys!!! your knee videos are great too. that mat is the real deal though!!!
You guys nailed it! This exactly what I have. I was so pissed when this happened a second time. I would love a regime that tells me how to rehab the pec with weights. I am guessing low and slow with more time on tension and less weight. From maxing 465 at 57 yo I am annoyed supremely that this is occurring. Thank you for your wisdom.
You don’t understand how much your videos have helped me and probably millions more. This is legit physio session. You have saved me hundreds of dollars through your informational videos. Experience, knowledgeable, credible and free. Keep doing what you guys do! Definitely most famous physiotherapist on the internet. ❗
I wasn’t doing anything but carrying out a 30 pound bag of dog food for a client at the animal hospital I work at.. I’m constantly doing this all day it started hurting under my armpit and now it’s right below my collar bone on each side it’s killing me now…
How about in the middle of chest because i push up so much i feel i strain what im going to do:(
Hi sir, should i give pressure or not? And how about the motion just up and down or like a little pull as pect direction?
Do you recommend continuous pressure up and down on the pectoral during the massage or pressure in one direction only?
i had a minor car accident and immediately i got a stinging pain in my sternum. Got xrays and nothing is broken, is it possible that the seat belt caused a pectoral tear on my sternum? It especially hurts when I wash my hands, pressing them together under the sink.
Thanks so much for this video. I’m in lockdown with no access to doctor or physio. Your video has helped me to rehab myself
I pulled my calf and have been doing these cross friction massages. My entire calf feels bruised the next morning. I also now have pitting edema on the whole middle section of my shin
If brushing occurs is that a definite sign of needing surgery???
I really thought this was clickbait at first, but was desperate to fix my calf strain and turns out you guys are the real deal. Great advice and info. Very helpful. Subscribed!
massage, stretch, activate… But I found it’s really hard to recover only by doing those methods for right shoulder. Those methods can help only if it is not serious, I guess.
Thanks for your informative videos.
Anyone hurt pec muscle by doing pull ups?
I don’t know how I hurt my left pac muscle from pull up probably last last Monday. Now I feel pain(not strong ) when I just do the hanging. I mainly feel pain when I cross my left arm to the right side(kind of horizontal adduction movement). I don’t feel pain in any push movements.
I have exactly this and thought it was a shoulder problem damn
I think i have a tear but i dont feel pain if i start moving the muscle but sometimes i feel with a little bit pain while i’m seting on my back and it’s go after half min or sometimes min.
How long that take to dissapear?
Back in December I tore my chest and a slight tear of the labrum. MRI only picked up on the labrum tear so I got surgery for that and I’m currently doing physical therapy for it, so I didn’t know it was a pec tear until recently. When i lift my arms to my side sticking straight out,and have them parallel, the outer part of the chest that connects to the front delt/ armpit area is sunk in. Could I rehab that or would you think surgery would be better? thanks for any help!
hello, first off thank you gents for all the great and helpful videos. My problem is that i had to sleep on a different pillow than the one i’m used to, and i sleep on my side with my head leaning on my shoulder. the discomfort i felt was much similar to a torticollis, and i felt it for about 10 days, and now it hurts when i do the doorway stretch that Brad does. the funny thing is i was able to do a couple of workouts with pushups without any pain, but now i’m really worried about the pain that i feel in the upper chest/shoulder/collar bone area. Please help. Thank you ever so much.
My chest hurts on the left side after playing tennis with some dead balls on clay. There is a particular spot right near the armpit that’s tender. Should I do any icing or just massage/stretch it the way they describe? Aside from hurting when I push on it the only other time it hurts is when I play tennis.
Hi guys! Love your channel! How do I know when I’m ready to start lifting after a chest strain. I’ve been doing “girl” pushups for a while and have starting comfortably doing push-ups but am very sore afterward but no hurt. I strained my chest about 5 weeks ago.
I’m 42 last September I tore my left calf again (last time was 2012) I put on weight over the winter through lack of mobility I’m down 30lbs now from walking on the treadmill but I still get anxious running! It reminds me its there with sharp pains if I push it too hard, will I ever play soccer again? ⚽️
I am so badly hurting. I pulled my chest muscles falling out of bed of all things. I was half hanging there and calling my husband to help. In the end he just broke my fall… I didn’t want to pull too much on his arm. What a stupid thing. Horrible pain for about 8 days now. Thank you for the video. Going to start with the massage right now..
Generally speaking, how long after the injury should you wait before starting the massage and stretching?
hi… i just tore my right pec 2 days ago, is it normal that it’s swollen?
How long should I wait before massaging. It’s been 2 days since I hurt my calf muscle during a run.
Tore my pec benching three days ago and now I am all bruised up on my armpit region and bicep. How soon can I start massaging it? Thanks!
I can bench 225 for 8 reps but decided to work out with 135 and strained my pec/bicep tendon. How long can i expect to be out of action. I have full range of motion but too much pressure gives me sharp pain
Hey guys… I’m back. after you guys healed my bicep strain last year I’ve managed to strain my left pec. I trust that this video will help
Holy shit.
I heard the opening jingle and was like “ah huh, the fuck is this?”
I just did the cross massage and my leg feels instantly better.
Great video, as always, gentlemen. I do have a question though: while doing triceps dips I get a sharp pain in my pecs right at the point where they connect to the sternum. Sometimes I power through it, sometimes it ruins my workout and can hurt for days. I cannot figure out how it happens or why. Any tips?
So I got a mild strain or tear yesterday while doing martial arts. the only bruising I got was on my bicep, but the tenderness goes into my armpit and chest. How long should be ice, and rest before starting treatment? I’m seeing a few weeks.
sir i am from india and my mother is ill.. she has suffered brain hamorage.. she was in coma 6 months.. thats why there were paralysis attack.. after not having body movement…. her legs didnt moved 6 months.. thats why my mothers knee could not move properly.. she is on bed she could not walk.. even she could not stand on her feet… a physiotherapist come daily in my home for her exercise.. but there is no such benifits happening.. my mothers feet is moving she can move.. she also can have sit.. her hands are moving properly… she could not walk… there is blokage in her knee… i have seen your videos on knee movements.. i have tried for mom… please give me some steps.. so that my moms knees can move properly….. this is a kind request from a child for is mother.. so that she could walk on her own feet… please give me some steps of phisicaltherapy
I’m unable to raise on one foot like you said after hearing and feeling a pop. If I have a tear, what’s your suggestion(s) to repair the tear and regain strength. Hopefully it’s nothing I would need surgery for. Thank you.
Thank you for your videos they have been incredibly helpful
i been doing kettle bell swings, didn’t hurt at the time but,now i been having this pain in between under my armpit and the left side of my chest, the pain comes with certain movement, specially when sitting down in a bad posture. don’t think its my heart because my blood pressure is good. i run 3 miles every day, don’t feel fatigued. my only problem is that i can’t find the muscle that’s causing the pain, i only feel it when it hurts.
Great Insights. Thank you for the information. Recently I had pain around my pec muscle area. I think it could be due to push-up or resistance bands. I stopped my workout activities and eventually the pain got better. I think we all needs to listen to our body. Gotta re-start my activities with gradual intensity. Stay Healthy peeps!
It’s been 3 months since I injured my pec while doing dumbbell pullovers (60 lbs). I had ultrasound and have no tears. I had PT, massage, acupuncture, neural therapy etc. It feels good for a few weeks then it starts again -> feels good -> starts again ->.. I’m sick of this. I didn’t workout even once in this 3 months, lost my muscles etc. It just doesn’t fully heal. I already spent so much money in this.. Do you think I should start the workouts and see how it goes? What do you suggest?
I hurt my back by getting off of the couch a few days ago. It’s painful, the first day I couldn’t walk or go to the bathroom alone. Now I can walk & go alone but it’s so painful. My X-rays didn’t show any tears or damage to my spine. Do I need to stay in bed? (Which seems to make it hurt worse) or keep walking around? I’m icing my back 20 minutes on an hour off. It feels so tight & makes my back feel like it wants to bend completely backwards. Idk what to do & I’m miserable.
Thanks so much for this helpful video! I was worried It was my heart. Then I was thinking it was that I pulled a muscle lifting weights.
Guys, I’m a new subscriber! Love your videos. I hurt my calf yesterday right in the middle of the muscle where you said, WALKING QUICKLY, not even jogging. No pop sound at all, it felt at the beginning like a cramp and I could feel a node. It’s been 30 hours so far, no bruise, moderate swelling, but it hurts when I try to lift on my toes. I can walk but limping or with the foot totally flat. Is this massage you mentioned useful in these cases? I need to be able to walk fine in a week. I may have made the mistake of stretching right away but I didn’t kill myself doing it. Thank you and hopefully I will be lucky and get a response soon.
I had a strain on my lower right side and my back I was lifting a dehumidifier was pretty heavy I’m 65 years old and I got some type of strain in my lower right back it got so bad that I couldn’t stand on my leg and I had to drag my leg in order to make it to my car and I was able to get in my car and I’ll see if the drive home I believe it was a strain I’ve been to the doctor but I I think I’m getting better now if you can comment on that do so thanks
Got this playing baseball. Literally collapsed on third base.
Tore mine 3 months ago took about 2 months to heal then started working out again for about 2 weeks then of course i tear it again
Foam rollers are wonderful, highly recommend those that vibrate. I have one and use it every single day for pain in my legs and hips.
Great one! Got great help here from the guys and fun to watch. Calf strain is scary when you first get it and don’t know what to do about it. Thanks!
My daughter who is an experienced & highly qualified physio in the UK advised me that use of Mechanical Massagers can cause Deep Vein Thrombosis & should not be used. The best way to avoid scar tissue is to gently load ANY strained/pulled muscle until discomfort is felt. Also, unless in severe pain neither to apply ice nor to take ibuprofen as the inflammation is part of the healing process. Finally, having recovered it is important to daily keep up the loading of the muscle that was pulled to minimise a repeat injury.
Thank you. This helped me. Rubberband calves and cable hamstrings are such a pain for trying to sprint. Boom and it blows out. Been this way since I was a teenager. And man the cross-grain massage and foam roller kill!! But they work. Much better.
It has been 10 weeks for me and I still feel a knot and some pain..what should i do?
Bruh fr get out those shoes for this & move the feet to both side thats whats helped me & eccentrics & pumping the muscle also you can stretch the calf by going up to the wall for that incline
Im not certified tho one day i will be i just saw in a book how our body moves & it clicked that we dont work the muscles that bring one side of out foot up enough
Stretch often im good now & was “walking like an old man” 4 days ago
I love you guys.. had so many muscle, nerve, and disc injuries, and y’all are amazing. Thanks
im a sprinter,,,but im 44,,lol sooooooo whoops….i am worried calves strain better,,,but sore behind the uncommon area,,,IS the same TREATMENT MASSAGE AS WELL???? im a worry WART,,,thanks YOU GUYS big fan
I was barbell pressing today and towards the end of my workout I felt a few pops near the end of my chest muscle near the top of my armpit, it instantly got sore. I still have range of motion but I feel a slight sharp pain sometimes, what do you think it is and what would you recommend for recovery?
Suddenly I was wakeupd one morning 5 am with right side chest pain I don’t know why its happened…..I think my overdoing push ups is it right any other gym problem
This past December I tore both calf muscles at the same time. It was so painful and I couldn’t walk for two days. Literally. Walking was impossible for two days and for the next 3-4 days I could only walk on my tippy toes. Wish I would’ve come across this video then!! This time my injury isn’t as bad, but still doesn’t feel very good. Massaging for just a few minutes already has the muscles feeling better!
Is it normal to have some tenderness/soreness after massaging the area
Hi guys! When will be better start with Transversal Massagge? 5days after feel small strain/tear? 10days?
And same question for the eccentric work, start it when normal streching is free pain?
Thanks a lot!
I got re-rupture of left calf muscle after a 4 weeks of rest and second football match, not the first. After I saw this video and starting a massage, as you recommended, it immediately got 50% better even more! Wow, guys thanks for this highly educational and funny video!!!!
the issue is when to start stretching….even before you get to the aggressive stretches….too soon and you relapse…..might be a good idea to go slow for some time….the massage is great….I figure if you can walk for 30-45 minutes with no pain the next day…you may be ready for stretching…..just my opinion…
Sir, i am having tingling (had pain but now its gone, just little stiffness left) in the right under forearm ( right between wrist and elbow ) since 2 days, and pain near coronary ligament in chest, while sleeping. i use/work on computer too much recently, i sleep after 2 am daily.
Fiber side massage 20 minutes every day for 3 days, then every other day…but for how long? 2 weeks? How long
I use the vibrating foam roller “Viper“ Hyper ICE. It’s a great help when you have to “unlock” your soleus https://chasingtargets.eu/nl/product/hyperice-vyper-vibrerende-foam-roller/
I injured my calf yesterday. I exercise everyday but running is new. I stretch before every run. This time I was playing tagg with the kids and turned to run and felt a pop in my calf. Went to the dr today and she said I busted a vessel. We feel shes wrong but she didnt feel any tears. No kind of scans were done. Will I be safe to do the stretch if it is the busted vessel. I have no bruising or swelling
Wow. Did the massage & the stretching & calf pain is gone! Need to keep working on the stretching & strengthening
I dance ballet, I pulled my calf again after 2 months. Its been a couple weeks already but I just started this massage. Am I too late? I really don’t want it to happen again!
its been 10 seconds and bob and brad got me wanting to injure myself to come back here xD circus artist here, subbed

You guys are funny. I love your personality. You make perfect father in laws. I love the video
how often should you do this and let the pec rest before stressing it with weight? I do power lifting so my bench is always intense
This video has to be one of the most poorly put together videos ever. From the location, lighting, camera positioning, interaction between both, speaking over each other, no real sense of that they are doing and information is poor.
I run about 4 or 5 times a week and calf strain has put me out for a couple of weeks. When I go back to activity, would it be a good idea to do something like use a rowing machine that’s lower impact, or would it not really be much different from jogging for this kind of injury?
i think i might have a strain or something. I did weighted dips today and mid way through i felt some discomfort in the centre area inbetween my precs. When i went home after my shower the pain grew strong, slight activation of my chest would cause some sort of pain, and when i breathe in deeply and my chest expands it hurts.
I’m a 48 year old female. I have a lump in my calf, toward bottom of calf. And it feels like its torn. Its swollen and hurts downward. I had a venous doppler and it shows no bloodclot. It got better but…JUST as you described it popped again while I was just walking! Uhhh it hurts! Why is this happening to me? Am I that old and out of shape? Im limping. Help!
My calf “popped” yesterday while doing heavy prowler sled sprints. It really hurts badly. How do I know if its a sprain or a tear?
Thanks, Dr. Christopher Camp and the Mayo Clinic for this important video. I found the information I was looking for about ligaments sprains.
So what if we have a complete tear? I’m 2 days into this, I can hardly walk. The pain is in the described location. I can’t lift myself on my toes at all. Hurts like hell and there’s still swelling. How long do I stay off my feet?
My pain is at the top where you said it doesn’t happen as much. The anatomy is called THE MEDIAL HEAD GASTROCNEMIUS. the tendon at the top of the inner calf muscle. Behind and below the knee. But like you said.. it did get better and then reinjured.
Can lifting my 37-1/2 pound 2-1/2 year old tear/strain my pectoralis? I only ask because i have been to several docs who say the pain im experiencing is muscle beacuse i was getting it into my armpit, which that pain is better but now above my breast on the side i carry and lift her on. I have had it for about a week or so…. supposed to start physical therapy but waiting for facility to call and schedule as they are new. ive also been told i have rib dysfunction. You guys are awesome!! Love your videos.
My question is, I started the cross massage and it is helping. My calve strain has lingered for 4-5 weeks, I had taken your advice around 3 weeks. It is definitely the soleus or tendon below the Gastro part of my calve. I can always find the sensitive part that hurts daily. I have stopped running. I have done some light walking and mostly biking. I have been doing stretches and a foam roller. At what point should a person begin strengthening? When pain is gone? Or can I strengthen it although it seems to be slowly improving but it doesn’t seem to be 100%? Any other advice for me as to if this is the tendon that is irritated? Please respond, I could use the help or just encouragement that I’m going in the right direction although it seems to be going really slow
How would I know if I have a grade 3 pectoral tear? I don’t have bruising but o my gosh does it hurt and causes a burning feeling through out my chest… I was at work one day on the ladder getting a box of apples off the top shelf (I’m 4’8 & 90 lbs) the box had to weigh half my weight or more… Anyways my arms were above my head to reach it, all the weight was on my chest muscles to get it down… It hurt a bit after I got it down but as a female body builder I just thought I’m a beast and that I would feel better in a day or two… Its now been 2 weeks and it still hurts!!!! Bad too!!! I feel like my breast are swollen, they are also tender to the touch… Breathing is hard to do, as is coughing or even bending over to tie my shoes is painful… My pain tolerance is extremely high, like kidney stones since I was 7 years old and a broken wrist in 3 places (didn’t tell my parents till the next day) so when I say something is wrong and I’m in pain, it’s for real! So how would I know and what should I do?
Haha if you closed your eyes and listen to this it sounds funny haha
11:13 bruh i thought he said the f word, and the dude looked at him right away
Hi Bob & Brad, I was doing calf raise exercises in the gym about 2 days back and although the very next day i was fine and was able to do normal activities with a little bit of a muscle strain which you generally get after a good day of workout but today when i woke up it got reallyy bad and i am not able to move my right leg at all, i have this severe pain just below the knee in the calf area, cant see any bruising but having a lot of trouble walking and even standing. Dont know if its a muscle tear because i didnt feel anything happen while exercising that day. if you could give me some advise it would be very helpful.
Thankyou.
Thank you so much! I either sprained or tore my calf yesterday and couldn’t put any weight on my leg or flex my foot. After following your instructions I am back to walking almost normal today!
Hey guys I have a question! I recently felt a sharp pain on the top of my heart through my top left side of my back if I moved a certain way or did any chest or shoulder workout! I got checked by a doctor they did many test and said I was fine! I’m just wondering would that be a chest tear or maybe something else? I bench maybe twice a week and I’m constantly going pretty heavy on lifts.. I still can’t do a full push up without the sharp pain coming back
Guys, thank you once again, I followed your instructions, my calf pain reduces and make me comfortable, this is my main problem for standing the whole due to my job and it cause me a lot of pain in my both calves, I took a lot of medication especially strong pain reliever and pain reliever Massages oil but it really doesn’t work, I thanks GOD “for locating you guys in you tube.
Bob and Brad, the goto solution for aches and pains! love you guys, thanks
You perfectly described my situation in the start. Thank you so much for the help!
Ugh I just tore my muscle on my calf. I can’t put pressure on it to get up . I can semi walk around the house but look like a pirate lol. I’m going to keep it on ice and see how it is in next couple days. Can’t afford to go to Dr these days my works insurance sucks lol.
After doing a lot of pushups my right side chest muscle starting jumping for two days is this about of muscle strain??
Hi guys, great video..very informative:) I would really appreciate your opinion on a matter regarding my chest injury. I had I minor tear in my right pec about 2 years ago before I started going to the gym (found out it was a minor tear later on). A year ago I decided to start weight training. About 8 months in I started feeling pain in my armpit area. I consulted with a physiotherapist who examined my injury and practically mentioned what you explained in the video. After 3 massage sessions all the scar tissue (as he referred to it) was gone and I slowly began training my chest again without any problems. after this I continued training constantly making progress up until 3 weeks ago when I took a long rest from training due to exams. The area that I had injured became quite stiff during this rest period. after finishing a moderate weight training session (2nd session after rest period, 1st being light) I felt a lot of stiffness coming from the chest armpit area when stretching my chest. Not painful but uncomfortably stiff. The massage you showed helped me loosen it up but not completely just as yet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated:))
What a great video! Thanks to you two, I’m feeling better already! Had to be helped out of the gym today by a pal of mine. I’m thinking it’s a heat cramp, but it could be a tear. Only time will tell.
I tried the massage advice on this video and my pain got worse the next morning. Had to go to urgent care to get some medication. Don’t be a dude. Don’t google it. Go to the Clinic!
I did some stretching few days ago and now I am feeling sharp pain in my right thigh (hamstring) when touching, moving my back backwards or my other leg forwards. I also began to notice a bump, no bruises just a small bump. Not sure if this counts as a muscle sprain or sth else.:(
You don’t have experience because you don’t mention nothing about torn muscles in the center of the chest
had pain there for years everytime i lifted and i would even take 6 months off with no relief so I am going to give this a try. Already started massaging like they showed and it went numb within 30 sec so thats a good sign I have also been stretching like they showed at least ounce a day and also in the gym i have lowered the weight I usually lift. if this works ill come back and update!
Wow your amazing:o thank you!! I did the massage and the pain went from 5 to 2
Hey guys, I wanted to say thank you for the video, it was very helpful. I recently strained my calf muscle during a run, and it has been years since I had to visit the physical therapist for almost the same injury. I could not remember the process I went through years ago, so I watched your video it was a very good refresher of what I need to do to help the healing process.
Keep up the good work.
What do you think of the Graston technique for calf strains/pulls?
I literally just strained my right pectoral muscle during boxing training 20min ago. Pain takes a while to build up and then my pectoral stiffined and I came here. Thankfully whilst watching the video I calmed after training and my pectoral released it’s tightness mostly, and then the pain went down. Did the exercise and it’s now not sore if I don’t flex pectoral. Feels like I just got to take a day off the training and I’ll be good. Took no pain killers at all.
Holy mess this freaking worked. YouTube is the greatest thing ever
Mine is injured at the top of the calf on the inside. Would it be the same treatment?
I go out country dancing every weekend. No health insurance and I MUST heal!! Thank you for this great video. One thing I add is tumeric mixed with Colgate white toothpaste for the muscle rub. Works like icy hot. Gonna tape tonight and see how much I can dance tonight. Very grateful!!
how do you know if you are successfully breaking up scar tissue?
Horrible video! The sound is barely audible and they talk too much without getting to the point.
I have the same problem… strained/torn pec but every time It feels better and i begin working out, the pain returns. So How long after the massage am I able to start stretches? How long after the stretches will I be able to do knee pushups? How long after will I be able to begin implementing small weight workouts? Please help. Thank you.
Trying to train for a Turkey Trot but my calf is not cooperating..I will try what these guys are suggesting.
Thanks for posting this. The cross fiber message has been a big help!
my neft pectoral muscle where it meets the center of the chest hurts like hell. I got injured doing a close grip bench press about 3 months ago. the pain goes away if I stop working out for a week. but it comes back if I do chest workout. x-ray showed they is nothing wrong with the bones.
Oh yea I got it, text book right in the middle of the calf.
Soooo painful.
I was playing baseball and got a calf strain (felt like someone threw a ball at it). Dr. said its a partial tear. I want to get back to playing in about 4 weeks before my season ends. I just ordered the CM5, can I start massaging it even with pain still present?
It can be Best youtube channel if it posts videos on regular basis.
Is there anything special you can do for plantaris muscle injuries? I’ll keep the cross-muscle massage in mind, but I can’t really find any stretches that will activate the muscle
hi. i have mallet finger from jamming my finger before. do you have any tips on how to realign the tendon with the bone so that my full ROM can return?
That was sore even to watch for me. Hurt my calf 5 days ago,i have no clue what to do.. Walking with crutches..only can touch floor with tip toes.
When I’m allowed to stretch or do anything???
I tore my pec back in 02.. so my question is,is it to late to repair?
Check my new foam roller wheels training! Try sitting in a chair with your heel on the roller and cross the other leg over… then push it fwd with your foot.. it pulls your leg outward
Thank you, Every word of that was educational and interesting, Im enlightened now, albeit with back pain, i had no idea what was in there.
Great job on the videos about calf strains. I’ve strained my right calf twice in 6 weeks playing Pickleball!
u skipped talking about the upper calf. and that’s what i need you guys to help me with.
I have a pacemaker fitted, I fell and hurt my chest. I can’t do your massage because of the pacemaker..
Would it better to begin with isometric calf raises before I get to eccentrics?
Why would I get pain in this muscle area when doing abdominal exercises?????????
Hey guys, thanks for the great video! I got a chest strain about 5 months ago and it’s only gone down in pain by around 15% since then, even though I’ve stopped ALL upper body training.. I think it’s because my job requires me to write constantly which is pretty painful. Should it really take this long? I’m kind of worried it could require surgery of sorts.. Massaging like this seems to help but not significantly (and I’ve been doing it for weeks!)
I always pull my chest muscle it hurts like hell and feels like cramps
This back ache guide to learn why it’s efficient. My critical chronic back pain was basically treated because of it. However it will help me to place on my side or back that will help alleviate a number of the spasms.. Look for this guidebook on Google, the tip name below.

GREAT video! i was using the row machine on sunday evening and a bunch of other arm lifting exercises, thursday i noticed i had a pain in that EXACT spot. i was lifting pretty hard and it comes and goes. its about two inches over from where my arm connects to my torso and about a half inch1 inch down, my right side doesnt really hurt unless i make a muscle then it hurts a little. i was worried it was something to do with my heart! ( i dont have any chest pain in my lower chest, just up in this one spot) i had a physical last month and BP and sugar was good, so im assuming thats not it. any thoughts guys? is there any for sure way to tell if its a muscle or not? if i take my left arm (the one arm with the issue) and life it up and rest it on my stomach and put my left hand on my right shoulder, the pain goes away, but when i put it down at my side, thats when it hurts, if that helps. thanks!
once I was doing biceps exercise and biceps posing….I got strain in my biceps… from past 3 months I am not able to do any biceps exercises what to do please sir help??
doesnt it depend on what level the calf strain is?? what if its a level 3?

This blows. Terrible audio. I’d never use them. The guy needs to buy a hairbrush and stop sleeping in his car.
