I am a morbidly obese individual currently hovering at 360ish pounds at 26y old with binge eating habits and I have had some success with low carb/keto when I don’t cheat that is. For me though switching to any diet is hard considering my normal eating habits are so bad that eating like a normal person is just as hard. I am still young in college and I really think keto in some ways is easier even for long term because it forces you to change your diet and eating habits from the ground up because if I just tried to calorie count I would still be eating out all the time and it would be to tempting to eat large quantities and cheat then it is to just say no more of that. even with a non-keto method I would still have to learn home cooking techniques and avoid most of the typical american restaurants and fast food completely and keto because of the high fat makes you less hungry. also you could choose to eat less red meats or processed meats if you follow a super clean keto like some of what Thomas Delauer recommends in his videos.

Great video overall,but I have to disagree with the grilled cheese-turkey sandwich being a good option if you’re trying to lose weight. Not only b/c cheese usually have high amounts of saturated fat, but also because it takes a long time to digest all these three food groups at once;starch-bread; meat & dairy-especially cheese! That’s definitely not recommended for someone who’s obese/or someone who just wants to shed a few pounds. I’m a registered nurse and I’ve learned a lot about nutrition through the years and I’m trying not to be biased-(me being a vegan). But if you want to lose weight,it’s best not to mix more than two food groups together,like starch=bread;rice;pasta etc,with vegetables; meat OR dairy products with veggies,etc. Another great tip is: Only eat fruit and drink water/green tea till 12pm,-(& stop eating after 6-7pm).-Then you’ll lose weight fast! Give it AT LEAST 6 weeks!
But remember,it’s about changing your entire lifestyle,otherwise you’ll go back to the old eating habits and gain weight again.Eliminate saturated fat & sugar,-that’s the first important baby steps. Good luck.

nice video! I’ve tried out a bunch of ways and only to find out that they don’t really work for me. It has been nice already that i disn’t gain more weight because of disturbance on diet. I am trying a new technique to myself where i chew but spit out the food, mostly carb or grain or the well-seasoned, so to trick my brain and stomach into that i had all the food i wanted. It was a good experience though really hard to have food out, almost against human nature, but i did it. Usually after i had carb, i’d need to go straight to sleep for 2 hours, and later feel really about myself and my stomach would feel like too full to do anything. With this, i didn’t feel sleepy or anything at all. I probably is a little compulsory in many ways but since i can’t control this and just really craving for some food at times, then i am not but trying to find out those that i can.

I am not going on keto, but I am going on a somewhat similar diet called Atkins, which is split up into four phases. First phase of Atkins is essentially the Keto diet. Over time you slowly increase your carb intake but throughout the rest of your life it stays moderately low. It supposedly helps keep weight off. Hope it works for me lol

I kind of played with the keto diet to regulate seizures that started at 22. I like to explain it by saying to strike a match in a room……..wait a few minutes and empty a few propane tanks in the same room and strike a match again. Might have a different result.

It got to where that was something I had to be serious because meds got it in line and then after some time sz started up again. Dr altered dosage saying the body gets used to them. A few more years it started acting up again.
I was recommended to do a ketogenic diet when I was still in paediatrics with neuro-disabilities. I have JME (juvenile myoclonic epilepsy). The diet reduces brain electrical activity by up to 60% (which is the aim when treating epilepsy). But they warned me that it is a very, very strict diet. I would be referred to a nutrition, however it will not be easy to follow. Of course, being 15 at the time, the thought of losing weight super fast was super exciting for me. I quickly said that I wanted to do it. But when the doctor realised that I was more happy about the weight loss, she quickly turned me down. At first I was kinda disappointed, but I think that it is definitely for the best. I think that I should be using my teen years to explore different flavours and culture of food. I ended up finding an anticonvulsant drug that worked perfectly first try and I am blessed to have done so. In fact, everyone was relieved that medication worked over a diet. But I definitely think that I will try out the lifestyle when I am slightly older.

I really think that Keto Diet depends a lot of the lifestyle of each person and how carb sensitive they are.
I went keto for about half a year and I felt terrible, I started to lost hair, I lost my period and had low energy everyday even though I was doing clean and healthy keto.
So I discovered that my body feels better in a moderate to high carb diet with appropriate calorie intake for my body.
Now I can lose weight eating whatever I want in moderation and I have lots of energy all the time also my hair stopped falling and my hormones are getting back to healthy levels.
I went from 180 to 100 pounds all I did was nothing, didn’t eat, didn’t shower just slept for 3 months or so works like wonders. Make sure to not forget to wake up for school tho. ( I did this in summer ) in the beginning it’s gonna feel like hell but soon enough you’ll pass out from hunger since you haven’t eaten in like a week making sleeping through it easier.

Carbohydrates are found in fruit too, not only in bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, juice and dairyproducts. Eating food based on eggs, fatter qualitymeat, fat fish, leafy greens and combining that with a lot of water and intermittent fasting can for some people be a liberating but still tough diet to slim down on because the body has to adapt to quit using sugar as fuel.

This guy. Blah blah blah. I lost a whopping 60 pounds on ultra low carb restrictive eating for 12 months. SIXTY fucking pounds. Incredible. The truth: My mental health suffered greatly. Felt great to get lighter, I could jump out of a sitting position felt like I was floating with less of that weight to carry, confidence boosts in the mirrorthe freedom to virtually not be hungry (Although to me this is still a little creepy). I hit a plateau (Yes it’s true it happens). Couldn’t get under 200 (Which is fine as i’m 6’4 and toned) but my mental health is terrifying. Without the blood sugar spikes, experiencing hunger, the energy carbs give you, nor bothering to do cardio and get those endorphins; I fell into this feeling of zombification, dis-associative, lack of feeling, lack of emotion, sociopathic, tired, just sort of nothingness. These feelings also coming from being fully medicated for depression by a professional. I know it sounds crazy but food is just pure joy and it does bring you energy and happiness. My only issue is portion control and knowing when to not over do it as I was a previous binge eater. But I will tell you right now low carbs is not a long term answer as it will promote mental deterioration. I think i’m just going back to food I like and being happy.

Story time:
In math class, I sit at a table of 5. The other 4 girls are so freakishly skinny. As usual, we’re not paying attention and talking about our weight. “I’m 90” most of them would say, while I’m here at 104. I’m so freaking embarrassed when they ask me. 3 options come to mind:
1. Lie and say I’m also 90
2. Just say the truth. They won’t make fun of you!
3. Say I’m not comfortable sharing (which’ll make them automatically know I’m overweight).
I did the second one. I almost cried on the spot. I feel so freakishly stupid and fat. At lunch, somehow word got out about my weight and a guy walked up to me and said “Don’t take this personally but…” I looked at my lunch. I WAS eating a lot. “You’re fat.” Right there I started crying in front of the whole cafeteria. My friends tried to cheer me up but it didn’t matter. I was fat. I hope I can change so this never happens again. I ended up going to the principal’s office. I didn’t want to tell them but my principal is pretty strict and forced me to. Now that guy got in huge trouble and hates me a lot. I’m kinda frustrated at my friends for telling the teacher. That’s my story of why I am here…

I became so energized to try the diet program “Yamzoko Weebly” (Google it). I didn`t modify my very own eating habits and did not increase my exercise level. Over a period of a month, I dropped around 6 lbs. While using this method, I did notice that I ate less and also filled up quicker..
My first thought was I didnt know David Letterman did health vids lookn at drawing first 5 secs
This has to be the worst diet to ever try. Dont eat meat and you will see a big difference in your health. All the top athletes are vegetarian or vegan. This diet will kill you.
A couple of ideas that seem to be helping me:
Set a specific number of pops to drink per week. Mainly just for weekends.
Be discipline Monday through Friday but enjoy food on the weekend.
Make one dish for dinner one night a week that you have never made. (still struggling with this)
AMAZINGLY (as in every other diet plan I’ve seen) NO MENTION WHATSOEVER OF ALCOHOL!!!! Yet everything I read about alcohol tells me it’s fattening.

So I’ve gone on keto/low carb just over a week ago, I actually enjoy the food so much and have gone out to restaurants a few times in this time (I’m home for summer so it’s like a long holiday eating out will be a part of that) and I’ve gotten around ordering something super yummy yet keto friendly every single time if you cook enough and know your ingredients it is quite sustainable

They give me a lot of energy and also control my desire for foods, however I do NOT crash once they wear off which I really like, and they also don`t cause me to feel jittery. I have not changed everything else I am doing and have shed 7 lbs..
