I have an underactive thyroid and the hair loss scared me. My hair was thin and lank. Four weeks into keto the body came back in my hair and it is 100% better.
dont waste your money. get a dexcom. my readings with the libre were never close to my blood glucose. had a scan of 98 and immediately took a glucose wich was 307 save your life and just go with the dexcom
I am shocked. Am I the only one suffering with horrendous hot flashes and cold sweats? These things come in constant waves. I am 62, so I’m guessing this is from downregulation of my thyroid. Anyone have any information to share about this?

Great tips, thanks! I’m doing vegetarian keto (no eggs,) and while I did get the bad breath, I didn’t get the body odor. Something I’ve noticed is that the body odor of someone who eats meat is way different from someone who doesn’t (not just with keto, but all the time. And yeah, vegetarians can still get stinky too.) So, maybe if your stink is really stank and it’s really bothering you, go for more vegetarian sources of fat and protein?
I have experienced hair loss, however, I also had hair loss at an earlier stage of my life when I had lost a lot of weight and I was NOT keto at that time. I think that keto gets blamed for this unfairly, when in fact it is just the fat loss that causes hair thinning because the keto WOE is so darn good at getting us to use up our stored body fat, Lol! I have a theory that weight loss can cause our androgens (ie. testosterone) to increase and this can cause male pattern balding. There is a supplement called Saw Palmetto that helps with this. I lost 10lbs on my bench press max and my sets of 7 have turned into sets of 4. I cant speak for everyone, but the loss of strength is real. Granted ive lost 20lbs so a little strength loss is worth it
From what I find the hair loss and I just did a recent live interview with a doctor the support keto is mineral deficiency not protein like most people think

why you say that starting a keto diet makes you get body odor and bad breath? Because I’ve been doing research on different diets. And I would like to try this diet.
Been on Keto for 4 months and caught 2 colds back to back(not the Keto Flu, these where real colds). I never caught colds with my previous lifestyle which was the paleo, gluten free stuff. But I like the Keto life, I like the energy, I can think more clearly, I can go with out eating the entire day and have a feast every night. I sleep better because I’m not bloated, I don’t have to worry about diabetes. I feel like I stop aging.

Keto rash sucks. Especially since there isn’t any research or a cure for it. Nothing worse than killing your skin from the inside out. For the social ridicule, I just say “Yeah, I’m not eating carbs, I lose 21lbs in two months so its working for me.” End of conversation.

I’ve been using this device for 28 days now and the advantage I’m finding is not having to do the finger sticks as much as I was. The disadvantage of this device is I’m finding closer to the day I have to remove the sensor my glucose reading are becoming more different. Like today I had a reading difference of 108 points from the Libre to my monitor. And yes, I have compared my monitor to my blood work and it is accurate. Is anyone else have this issue?

This epidemiological study doesn’t “Show” or “Prove” anything. Don’t be scared away from your whole-food ancestrally appropriate diet by a large, jumbled, poorly done study.
This study is the classic observational, self-reporting, food-survey study that can be used to show anything, just like Ancel Keys did years ago. It looks like they only surveyed the participants a few times in all those years, and then just assumed they ate the same exact things all the time. Of course, the “high-fat’ group used margarine, canola and shortening, like almost everyone in the world currently does; these were not #KETO/ #LCHF people. The methods used in this study are the same methods used to show that cholesterol and salt are bad, and that Nicholas Cage is guilty of homicide for all those home swimming pool drownings…

off’.. “ammonia” release.. suggestion… do a cleanse first.. will lower ” Gram negative entities “… and speed entering keto.. & DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.. flush sulfurs & ammonias from body..& chew some “whole pod ” cardamom”.. and seeds inside… 2)urination = you better = full of toxins.. I had both a ridiculously painful migraine for a week together with cramps. Fixed with Himilayan pink salt, truffle salt, avocados and mag/ potass suppliments. I also take nutritional yeast for the vitamins. I take spirulina too.

Keto isn’t a high protein, high fat diet like the Atkins diet. (High protein, high fat and almost no veggies leads to a fatty liver. That is how Dr. Atkins died.) Keto is HIGH in low carb VEGGIES, moderate protein (high fat meat) and whole eggs, and high in healthy fats. Massive salads are a must for lots of nutrients and vitamins and potassium. Drink mineral water to thirst (Pellegrino is awesome!), Real Salt or Celtic Sea salt to taste. Drink 1 tbsp Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar and 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (or Italian Volcano lemon juice) in 12oz of water before every meal. 2 huge meals a day @ 11am & 5pm for Intermittent Fasting, no snacks to fix insulin resistance and balance blood sugars. Leafy greens and celery are so low in carbs you don’t even need to count them. I’ve learned all this for free from Dr. Eric Berg’s videos. Check them out! This info has really helped me and my family.

Love this video. Nicely informative. I had an electrolyte prob. Now I’m supplementing with zero sugar BCAA that has potassium in it. Also, magnesium and sodium as well as CalMag at nite. Hope it works to cancel the cramps and heart palpitations.
I do pee a lot still, after months on keto. Not as much as in the beginning but still. It is frustrating a bit when I have to go to pee 3x per night. Thankfully I do fall a sleep fast. My salt intake is about 11-12 g per day plus sodium in some foods. I am bodybuilder though, workingout 6 x per week. Also I suplement potassium, about 900mg per day and I eat somewhere around 1,5 kg of veggies.

Mine is excessive sweating off and on all day and night. Is that normal?
I want to share other side effect, when I am grtting into ketosis my mouth tastes sweet, even gets anoyingbto have sweet flavor all day, I didn’t notice bad odors but I get the keto flu amd that sweet taste, am I the only one? Why it happens different? I read and yes it is because of ketosis.

I gave it a try for the last fortnight. Mostly it seems to behave when sugars are in range. As soon as things get a little too high or low it turns into a bit of a drama queen! I would finger prick to confirm the more dramatic highs and lows and always found the libre a little out in as much as FP would show that things weren’t as bad as they may have seemed with the Libre readings.
k..AND THIS IS SERIOUS. I’ve been searching all day, Dr. Lectures…Reddit, Keto experts on and on and even on YouTube have asked in comments…and people say drink water. I did everything, was really rocking Keto…even “cranked” lol Him Salt into my water (still do) but after 3 wks I could NOT carry on for the constipation and dizzy heart palps. I’d never had anything like that in my life and even went to the hospital and they told me I was fine. My health is good and I got scared that I might wreck it. I’ve done way more research now and still couldn’t find much on constipation…so THANK YOU THANK YOU. I will up my food based Potassium and Mag and get on those jellies…I’m so stoked now as I am sure that this is the answer…inflamation, disease, weight…I’m sure of it. THANK YOU:)

Been in deep Ketosis for abt 2 weeks now. I’m determined & focused! Ready to take this life journey & be as healthy as I can! Something that I always noticed was that the negative effects of keto are just temporary. But the positive effects/benefits are for however long you do keto or whatever! That’s what keeps me going tbh. I suffered from the keto flu for the first 3 days and wanted to just stop but I pulled through and haven’t had it since! haha.
Can you use both Libre 1 and Libre 2 with iPhone? I’m trying to decide if I should buy the reader too.
In Japan, I can buy the Libre 1 online without doctor visit. But the Libre 2 is not yet available.
Also, does the Libre iOS app share the data with HealthKit? Or, must I manually enter such data??
