I think that your study about the benefits of Omega 3 fish oils to treat Depression and other psychiatric disorders became a very boring list of all kind of mental conditions that in my opinion were not lengthy enough treated with the fish oil supplements. The results of such study were poorly explained. It looks and sounds more like a numbered list matched with a bunch of figures of doses applied, that only conclude: no enough benefit was seen.
I would like to hear what is the clinical base of your comment stating that in patients with Bipolar Manic your recommendation is to be cautious to prevent cycling into mania? So if those kind of patients can cycle into mania…… That means that indeed Omega 3 is effective to treat depression. Can you see your contradiction? It does not surprise me to see psychiatrist to try to convince people of “an invented no effectiveness” of Omega 3. It’s a desperate move of them to recover the lose of the psychotropic medications market that has been occurring, after the Big Pharma scandal became global.

The most important thing is to mention the minimmum amount of EPA and DHA we should look for in any good omega 3 supplement to consider it as a good one. I particularly only buy the brands which have at least 0,6 g of EPA + DHA summed up in a amount of each 1 g from the total amount of oil contained in the capsule.

Idk, increasingly studies seem to be showing very little proven link between these fats and overall heart health. Main benefits seems to be related to be related to cognitive function.
spirulina oil is better than fish oil. no risk of ocean mercury and it contains GLA fats which fish oil has none of.

Great video I had no idea there was so much to Omega-3. I went to GNC and purchase some omega-3s tablets and was just taking them once a day but I wasn’t eating a lot of fish or the other items on your list. I’m definitely going to add three servings of these fish into my eating plan and I will definitely watch out that I do not taking more than 4 grams a day. By taking liquid omega-3s it’s easy to detect by smell or taste if it’s rancid, unlike if it’s enclosed in capsules. Taking supplements before a meal also decreases the risk of having those fish smelling burps… Where I live it’s common to take a daily spoonful of cod liver oil, a great way to get that DHA, EPA, vitamin A and D!

I eat salmon once a week for the heart health benefit. I used to take fish oil supplements, but I didn’t like the taste, which stayed with me for hours after taking it. I switched over to krill oil from Costco, and it works much better for me in that regard. However, it is lower than your recommended dosage, containing only 60 EPA and 30 DHA. I wonder now if it’s even worth it.

FYI, fish oil & krill oil are very environmentally destructive, involve trawling, and can lead to a buildup of mercury and other environmental toxins. Fish oil is also linked with prostate cancer in men. I highly recommend switching to a plant-based algal oil Omega-3 supplement, which is eco friendly, much more efficiently absorbed, and won’t create nasty fish oil burps. Algae is how krill and fish get their omega-3 content anyway, so you can just cut out the eco-destructive fish/krill oil middle men. Did a little research in the past on eggs fortified with omega-3’s and it seemed to be a bit of a scam. If the fortified eggs are your go-to dietary source you’re probably better off buying a quality supplement than paying for overpriced eggs that aren’t really supplying the type and quantity of omega 3’s that your body needs most.
Is it possible that the increase of LDL is caused by the carrier oil (usually sunflower), not the fish-component itself?
Might want to also mention you can get Omega-3 in chicken. Check out IQ Chicken as a great alternative to cold water fish!

Please be extra careful with the “no-taste-or-smell” transparent pills because they can have rancid grease inside even though they are brand new. It’s better to use a liquid supplement one to be able to smell the quality. Unfortunately I can not longer use omega supplements causes hands excema.
Brilliant Video. I have recently started taking Omega 3 Fish Oils 1000mg, for about a month. I only just realised I used to have a very slight issue with sight from time to time like a slight blurriness. I just thought was maybe due to tiredness, fatigue, I didn’t pay it much mind, but I’m thinking my sight feels really good like quite strong now, defined or maybe more focused I should say. Not sure this is a direct effect of the Omega 3 Fish Oils but it really could be.
I tried to get my health insurance to cover my prescription for “Lovaza”. I tried and my cardiologist tried and it was next to impossible. The health insurance said I must first try over the counter fish oil supplements and proof that they don’t work by providing supporting Documentation that the brand purchased and the dose taken and I had to give it at least four weeks of failure to reduce my triglycerides and then they would cover it. So I did my research and I found a company that extracted and packaged pharmaceutical grade fish oil by the name of “Omegavia” and their gel capsules were quite concentrated. I took 3 grams for a month and did another blood test and “Triglycerides” were now within normal range. And they weren’t even that expensive, something like “$26.00” for a month’s supply. So I didn’t bother with the “Lovaza”, I found something just as good over the counter.
Does anybody know if there’s a difference between fish oil and cod liver oil? And if no difference what is the benefit between one over the other? I went to Duane Reade to pickup my first bottle of fish oil but then saw these two side by side and couldn’t decide which to buy, I have been hearing good things about these two for years so I figured I’d do some research on which is better so I can go purchase a bottle of either one.

I just ordered the Nutrigold Omega 3 Fish Oil Soft gels. I was doing research and came across your channel. I may end up getting the loose oil since you say its not bad. I was afraid to take straight oil at first. Does taking the oil loose almost act as a laxative because that would be my biggest fear. Oils tend to loosen things up which might cause a little discomfort.
