What I do not understand is the counter. Is the 1200 net calories (Exercise Food = 1200) OR Eat 1200 calories and exercise for a net under 1200? I’m trying to lose weight.
My typical exercise day burns around 600 to 900 calories (depending if I am able to run that day.).

I appreciate going into such detail on MFP’s macro features, those have been pretty confusing for me. I’m not sure if you’re still making videos, but I’d appreciate if you could go into more detail on TDEE, how to more accurately track/find it, and maybe a different video on how we can manipulate our macros to suit our bulk, cut, or recomp goals. I’d say I’m more into fitness than beginners, but am not competing or working with a trainer, and it’s been hard to find content that’s helpful for people at my level. Isolation has super motivate me to optimize my fitness into the next level and would love some videos on how to start that process!

I don’t like weighting meals and counting calories, I never did it so I admire you;)
For some items there is no way to adjust the serving amount… There are only 3-4 serving sizes. Is there any way to add the serving amount in grams Sakshi?

Question? MyFitnessPal seems to be the most prevalent calorie tracking app used and reviewed on You Tube. But the app seems to have a busy interface. In contrast, I saw another review (though a tad bit slow in its presentation) for another app, MyPlate:

If you fast forward to time-segment 11:52, it shows a succinct calorie interface: Consumed Burned Net
This data seems like the dashboard summary of what most persons would want to know to achieve a fat loss or muscle gain caloric goal; mine being to lose 60 lbs excess fat via a minimum of 0.50 to 1.00 lbs net per week over 120 to 60 weeks via 7-fitness components:
1-machine weight training (3 days per week)
2-aerobics (6-days per week)
3-stretching (6-days per week)
4-nutrition/supplement/water (daily = 45C/30P/25F variable)
5-recovery (rest/sleep) = 8 to 9-hours
6-Garmin Venus Sports Watch
7-Polar H10 Heart Rate Monitor/Strap
The challenge is finding suitable fitness apps (for my Note 8, Garmin, and Polar H10) to track my machine and and aerobic workouts and nutrition rookie level of course versus sports enthusiasts, personal trainer, or professional athlete.
Since you’re a CPT (one who presents herself as authentic, pragmatic, and an expert in using MyFitnessPal) does MFP have a summary dashboard (Consumed Burned Net) like MyPlate… in the free or subscription versions?
So far, all the reviews rave about MFP’s detail food scanning and tracking function but nothing about its dashboard. Also, the Garmin Connect and Polar Beat plus Polar Flow apps seem inadequate to track in one place my workouts and nutrition is this the case for MFP?

You need to remember that you need at least 2000 calories a day even when you are losing weight, your meals are very small,eat A LOT of fruits! I eat probably 3 times as much food as you eat and I’m a 13 year old girl, but I am 5’7 and a healthy 130 pounds.
Edit: what I claimed here does not apply to some people and obviously doesn’t apply to someone who is a lot smaller and/or has a slower metabolism than me, I wrote this comment about 2 years ago, chill.

GUYS, if the food is uncommon (or common for that matter), there is the possibility that the macronutrient values of that food is INCORRECT. so ALLWAYS check the label first and make sure it matches the one that pops up on your myfitnesspal!
When I was adjusting the macros for protein, it either went to high or to low between each percentage
So simple, yet so effective. That’s how would I describe diet plan from *Next Level Diet*. Now I belive that simplicity is the key to brilliance.

Question, so once you Exercise do you eat the new calories to make up the calories you used during exercise or do you stay the course and just eat your starting calories for the day??

I’ve been using myfitnesspal for quite some time and lost 15kg, but now i mainly want to lose fat & gain muscles but my calories are already really low (1700) and I’m pretty sure I’m not eating enough bc I train a lot more now (4-5 times a week) if i add calories will that make me gain weight? or will it help me lose fat & gain muscle?

I have been using myfitnesspal for three months now without breaking the streak.
My only query is regarding the input of steps and activity.
As we add the exercise, the app automatically adds extra calorie intake.
So, is it even important to count steps or just look after my original calories?

My daily calories are 1957 (trying to lose weight) but if I train and add say 300 Cal’s to MFP do I only only eat my normal 1957 Cal’s or also eat the extra 300 Cal’s too?

hey zac does it matter if protein intake is double your requirements? I’ve been doing a lean bulk for the past 8 months and seeing results on the scale and mirror but everyone says to just hit protein+ fat requirements and fill rest up with carbs but i just don’t feel too good mentally when i do overdo carbs and i feel i get fluffy much quicker. Always appreciate the content brother

I just have a few queries:
1. What if we get most of these things from local vendors and loose stuff which are weighed and given at that moment. Like aata and daal and nuts/seeds, how do we measure that.
2. How about we measure stuff at a restaurant not some big chain like McDonald’s. Like a restaurant and having a pasta, quesadillas, sushi or indian too naan and chicken etc.
3. How about alchol?
4. What about guys/girls like us? Who don’t even step into the kitchen and our mom makes food for us. Any way around it?

I used to track my food on MFP but stopped two years ago and switched to LifeSum. But I want to start using MFP again. When you eat out do your track your food on MFP or only when you eat at home? This is something I have always wondered. What I do is only tracked my food when I ate at home. If I ate out that day I didn’t track my meals all day.

I’ve been tracking my macros for a while now and one thing I’ve noticed is that I’m on a cut so I have my calories set at 1,500 calories. I shoot for my protein goal everyday but at the end of the day I’m still under my carbs and fats while still being under my 1,500 calories (but not by much). So my question is, do I need to hit EVERY single macro or could I be fine with just meeting my protein goal while staying under my carbs and fats for the day as long as I don’t go over my 1,500 calories?
Note: Even though I’m low on carbs and fats throughout the day I don’t feel any hungry.

Used myfitnesspal for years, i just get confusec when searching foods and like example “Caesar salad ” yet like 100 options come up with differing calories, plus i dislike how it “adds” calories after excersize. Like if yoy start with 1200 calories ywt burn off 200 calories, itll add that 200 on as if youre allowed it not burned it off
Question: what if you workout 5x a week would you still select “lightly active” on MFP like she suggests?
