Hi, I'm a nurse that works for an organization that does at hope Annual Wellness visits for a local clinic. Since the completion rate of AWVs is pretty abysmal, the at home visit model has changed that. We took the clinic system from around 12% completion to over 65%. Since the clinic system is physician owned, this has led to them hitting required benchmarks from various Medicare supplemental organizations. (Plus the program doesn't cost the docs offices anything)
Going to folks homes allows the patient to feel more comfortable, allows accurate record taking of medication and supplement use. As well as can find underlying issues not known about (high bp, hoarding, depression ect). All this information is sent directly to the provider.
We have however, continued to run into some providers who don't like the program, or feel like were not doing anything.
So, came here to find what your thoughts are on AWVs. So I can understand from the provider side.
