Hi everyone so I'm finishing up residency and I'm currently in the process of applying for licensure in another state. So I've disclosed to the board that I have entered a plea of guilty previously in another state. I have previously plead guilty to a public possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage which is considered an infraction in the state that I was charged in. This happened almost 8 years ago when I was still in undergrad. I have also plead guilty to an illegal parking charge which is considered a misdemeanor in the state that I was charged in. I was initially charged with a speeding violation which is also a misdemeanor but I was able to have this changed to a non moving violation illegal parking misdemeanor with the help of a lawyer.
The state board is asking for a detailed written explanation of each offense. I'm not too sure how detailed I need to be in explaining each of these offenses. In regards to the illegal parking charge, should I just tell them straight up that I was initially charged with a speeding violation and then I hired a lawyer who was able to get this changed to a non moving illegal parking violation? I have provided the board with official court documents of these cases so they'll definitely see that I was initially charged with a speeding violation. I wasn't sure who else to ask which is why I'm seeking the assistance/advice of some of the redditors in this subreddit. Thanks everyone.
