Ingredients 1 pound 85% lean ground turkey 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin 1 medium avocado, peeled and mashed 3 tablespoons orange juice zest.Low FODMAP Guacamole is super simple to make. Start with ripe Hass avocados and use fresh scallion greens, jalapeño and lime juice. Cumin is optional, but we love it!
Serve with low FODMAP.Meatballs: 1/4 cup (55g) low FODMAP gluten-free fresh breadcrumbs 1/3 cup (75 ml) lactose-free warm milk or water 1 large egg, at room temperature 1 tablespoon minced fresh flat-leaf parsley 1 tablespoon finely chopped scallions.Combine all your ingredients in a big bowl and mix them together with your hands. Then, divide them into 18 equally sized balls and stick them on your baking tray.
Bake for 30 minutes (or until the meatballs are cooked through). I bought the entire Microplane brand grater set and love it!
They have several versions, I bought the one John showed, the “Gourmet” because of the rubber handle.
I bought 6 of the “Ribbon” graters (With the Food Guard) for Christmas gifts.
The Post Office sent the package to CT instead of CO, but Microplane’s Customer Support jumped all over it and sent a replacement immediately!

I made this for dinner with my grandpa and he said it was better than any meat he’s ever eaten. I tweaked it a little with ingredients and it was good. he said he’d stop giving me grief for being vegan since he now knows I can eat well and get all the nutrients I need.

I will tell you that protein in my diet has been a real problem due to my illnesses. This is perfect and actually sounded good to me and appetite has been a problem. The carrots are a great idea for that bit of sweetness! I already told my husband about your creamy pasta recipe. I don’t know if you like cumin but I think that it would be yummy in there too! My husband has to cook for the family along with working. This would be a great make ahead meal. I will let you know how it turns out

Capsicum?! That blows my mind. We call them bell peppers. Also, this looks good, but I don’t think Mexican food can really be called Mexican without cumin. Cumin is like the cornerstone of Mexican seasoning. Also oregano.
the key to the cashew cheese is use a probiotic that is live and let it sit on the counter until it doesn’t taste like ground up nuts. in a cool climate this could take 4 days.
I saw you were using a your potatoe smasher and said it’s hard for you to use. My mum got me this kitchen utensil and I use it for my avocadoes all the time! It smashes them up nice and smooth. please think about trying it and it will make it so much easier on your Avocado life obsession. Funny enough it’s called Good Cook Meat Chopper, it’s typically used to smash up group beef, but it works so well mashing up my avocados. And I don’t need my fiancé zach to mash them up for me no more either now. lol. It’s only like $4 u.s. online, dont know how much it would be for in Ireland. Please think about trying it, because I know you’ll love it, really helps your life out and your wrists lol.

Adding the tomato paste with the onions is the key to a thick sauce. Do not add paste once you’ve added the diced tomatoes. It makes the sauce too thick.

I did a really tasty cashew cheese last week from blissfulbasil.com. Just search for ‘Herbed vegan chashew cheese’ on that website, if you want to try it out. I would really recommend it, I had it as a dip, I had it as a sauce on wraps, it’s just so versatile! It’s even tasty with some nachos! =)

Ooh nice. I always debate whether or not to put Worcester sauce into things like this. Or brown sauce. Adds so much flavour but then I end up just making the whole thing taste of it.

When I make Guac I mash the avocado and lemon separately with a fork and then add the onions jalapenos cilantro whatever things afterwards since it’s more chunky that way. Never tried balsamic in guac however, definitely going to next time.
Also does anyone have tips of keeping guac from turning? No amount of lemon juice or vinegar I use will help. I tried putting plastic wrap along the top of it. Anyone can help?

I also cooked today some vegan burgers: green onion, carrot, zucchini, pepper bell, mushroom and two boiled potatoes, spices. It turned out very tasty but next time I’ll try one of your recipe.
I’m not a vegan but I like to eat a couple meals with no animal products a week and I’ve found Mexican food is the easiest and tastiest food to seem like your not missing out on anything! When my friends find out I don’t eat pork or beef I always encourage them to try vegan Mexican food because it’s so easy to manipulate into a filling and flavorful alternative.

I was thinking about this last night about shredded cheese….do you think most of your followers have a food processor? I process with the grater blade pounds of shredded cheese and then place it in the freezer until needed, especially parmesan. If I get good parmesan I usually use the regular blade to grind it for instance if it’s a large amount. If I pack into regular size bags and then place in a freezer bag, it only takes 30 minutes or on the counter to thaw frozen shredded. I even put it in salads. Anyway, that’s my personal solution to avoiding cellulose. The cellulose IS sawdust and doesn’t melt right lol adore you, chef John!

Add Italian cheese, grease baking dish, put all in dish, add bread crumb, few more dabs of butter, and cheese to top. put in oven 350, till light brown…

I definitely need some different recipes when my doc says no meat for a couple of weeks. I’m not a Vegan but my doc puts me on a restricted diet when I’m sick and Meat is a no no. I tried this and not sure what I did but my tomatoes had seeds in them literally squeezed a tomato and it went everywhere
and maybe I added too much water? It didn’t look as red and delicious…maybe my pan wasn’t that hot or something either…I need to perfect this sauce!!!

Hi! I made the BBQ Black Bean burger today and it tasted so delicious! I left out the coriander because I’m not a fan and I added a little bit more of BBQ sauce. I got 8 patties out of the recipe so 7 of them are going to the freezer. Thank you for the recipe! I’ll definitely try the other ones too:)
Lovely recipe, great tip to use the basiloco stalks. It only hurts my ears to hear Jamie say: “Taglialini” and “Tagliatelle”. Why is it so difficult for a lot of non-Italians to pronounce it correctly? Take the gl and pronounce it as lj and the i sound almost vanishes. Good luck.

I made the beet burg today and while it legit took me two hours, it was relatively easy, and oh my GOD IT WAS GOOD. Absolutely amazing. I used garam masala instead of Ras el hanout and it was beautiful. Thank you!!

Hey Stephanie! I love that you’re making cooking videos now, and as someone that loves to cook latin food (I learned from my Honduran mother-in-law), I have a couple kind suggestions, if you wouldn’t be offended. First, that delicious bean mixture would be complimented with some fresh cilantro and a little cumin. The guacamole I loved but you could try using some diced tomato and yellow bell pepper, it adds a nice tangy veggie flavor. This is all to preference, but I highly recommend trying it because it’s very yummy and slightly more authentic.:)

Just followed this whole recipe from start to finish and then there’s no mention over oven timing or temp I am stuck with a raw patty now. Fingers crossed I guess right:(
