I just made the peanut butter cookies. I didn’t want to use a blender so I mixed the wet ingredients with a whisk but the mixture was became really viscous in comparison to the runny mixture in the vid. also I used all purpose flour instead of wheat flour. when I mixed the wet and dry, my dough was superrrrr crumbly so I added 1 more tbsp of honey and 1/4 more tsp vanilla extract. I’m not sure what role my flour choice or the viscous wet mixture contributed to that…anyway I put the dough in a conventional oven instead of an actual bigger oven and I baked them for 20 mins and the cookies were actual ROCKS. i don’t even think they expanded in size at all. I think it’s my fault for not paying attention to stopping the baking process when the cookies turn golden brown bec the bottom of the cookies were a bit burnt…but they were sooo absent of sweetness that I ended up eating them with vanilla ice cream/peanut butter/nutella so next time imma just use a regular recipe
the good news is that I can just crumble up the rest of my cookies into bread crumbs for any next dessert I make

These desserts are NOT healthy at all. All of these recipes contains flour wich is one of the foods you not allowed to eat if you want to lose weight.. and the honey also contains lots of sugar. If you want to lose weight you should not eat any carb ( flour or sugar as in these recipes).

Kinda sad how many nutrition experts we have in the comments saying you can’t lose fat without exercising?! Lies. The whole point of weight loss is to be in a caloric deficit, meaning you eat less than you burn. To know how many calories you need to sustain your weight, calculate your BMR and count calories from activies throughout the day. If you do not exercise at all, the average BMR is around 2000 calories. For example if your BMR is 1800, you need to eat 300-500 calories less. You can go further if you can persist, but don’t go below 1000 as that is too dangerous for your health. Exercise isn’t what makes you lose weight. It’s a tool to help. If you eat 2000 calories and burn 150 through exercise, you’ll lose 7*150 Calories a week, which in total is a third of calories in half a kilogram ( 500g/1pound is 3,500 Calories) That means, weight loss is 80% food, 20% exercise.

I disagree completely that greek yogurt tastes exactly the same as sour cream. To me greek yogurt tastes… more bitter? It’s hard to explain. It’s a lot sharper, and I have a hard time stomaching it on its own.
Although I love it as a sub if it’s in baking, and I’ve had great success making healthier stroganoff subbing half of the sour cream for greek yogurt. (More than that and the texture goes weird when it gets too hot.) Use whole grain pasta, tons of mushrooms, and either lean beef or no beef at all and it’s a pretty tasty alternative.
One a similar note, you can make a fake “cream of” soup base by mixing:
2 cups nonfat milk powder (I’ve never tried it with the non-dairy kind, but I think it would work.)
3/4 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
Combine and store in your cupboard. When you need a soup base, mix 1/3 cup of the powder with 1 1/4 cups chicken or veggie stock. Use as you would a can of any “cream of” soup.
You can use lentils much the same way you use beans for baking, with twice the fiber. The taste is subtler, too, so you can make less chocolate-intensive things, like blondies and even cookies!
Banana doesn’t work as an egg replacement if you don’t want the taste. I made a cake recently like that and the banana was way too overpowering.
Made today this cake! But I’ve put only 30g of cocoa because either my cake batter will become too thick. And added 30g of sugar ’cause I don’t like taste of sweeteners. Nevertheless it came great, only 64kk per slice so it’s still great. Thank you!

I tried it, the kind of chocolate heavily influences the flavor and sweetness of the cake. I used coconut flower sugar Instead of stevia with a deep dark chocolate and the chocolate almost entirely covers the taste of the sugar, so the ganache is definitely a must if you like sweetness in your cakes.

In my opinion, these recipes are not outstandingly low in calories and I know that there are many recipes that offer way less calories for tastier and bigger desserts. I get the fact that it’s impossible to make cakes that are like 0 calories but I don’t think that this video actually showed good and useful recipes if you want to lose weight. The portions for each serving are tiny as hell and there are a lot of calories for a very small amount of food. I don’t think this is a good video. I’m currently on a diet and I know about the calories deficit etc. I’m not restricting myself at all, I’m just eating healthier but I wish I had some good recipes to help me being more motivated but this clearly isn’t in this video that I will find what I’m searching for. I find those small portions very dangerous because they tempt you to binge and it’s really not what you want when you’re on a diet.

Love love love @mindovermunch!! I do so many of these already! I would love to see another video of swaps if you are able to film it! A new swap I always do is roasted sunflower seeds on top of soups or salads instead of oyster crackers or croutons! Yummy!! Plain Hot Green Tea or Hot Lemon water instead of coffee with creamer (only sometimes 😉 ). Hot sauce or spicy brown/Dijon mustard for just about any alternative sauce or condiment! Thanks again!!
French cut green beans in place of spaghetti, and tomatoes (2 tomatoes is what I use) cooked down with a 1/2 teaspoon of honey/half of a clove of garlic/a teaspoon of minced onion for a single serving of spaghetti sauce [though, it probably can be figured out so the portion of sauce is larger] in place of spaghetti sauce bought from the store.

I know I’m late to the game here (the video is 2 years old when I’m commenting), but vegans will use Aquafaba to replace eggs too. Aquafaba is the liquid in cans of legumes like chickpeas. You can even use it to make meringues. Google to see what ratio you’d use.

well I liked the video, and u are right, BUT free sugar products are good if u don’t want all the calories, but is bad for thyroid, so I really prefer to consume the non light products and use sugar or bee honey (agave honey is nice also)
Parmesan has probiotics, olive oil cleans out your liver, wheat grains (aka noodles) are essential for energy amongst other things. Some of these I wouldn’t necessarily “swap” but maybe also incorporate. Add some zucchini noodles TO your wheat pasta, sprinkle some Parmesan on your cheese. Being afraid of foods like breads, pastas and certain dairy products not only can cause dangerous deficiencies but can actually predispose young adults and teens to eating disorders. All food groups are essential in some way so don’t cut everything out just be wise and experiment:)

Not sure if you have a video on Greek yogurts but if not will you do one on it? I feel like there’s so many options so it makes it difficult to pick the right one. Healthy food is subjective. As long u feel good about what u eat, that’s healthy for the individual. I could eat rice but in small moderation, I could consider that healthy as well. Sometimes all u need to do is just cut down rather than swap out. Moderation and balance is key to healthy eating.

I’m always substituting Greek yogurt for many things. it’s a constant item in my grocery list. It’s so versatile
for ice cream Jamie Oliver’s 1-Minute Berry Ice Cream
1 1/2 cups plain or vanilla greek yogurt
3-4 Tbsp runny honey
1 1/2 cups frozen mixed berries
fresh blueberries for garnish
In a blender, combine yogurt & honey.
Add frozen mixed berries and blend until smooth.
Add more honey if needed.
Should be the consistency of soft serve ice cream.
Scoop into bowls and garnish with fresh blueberries!
