I LOVE oats and nut butter in the morning. My favorite combinations are smoothy bowls with apples or peaches and cinnoman with oats and protein powder and yogurt and a hemp and chia seed mix I found with a splash of almond milk! I also make fruit whips and surprisingly, the secret ingredient that makes it whip and adds the creamy flavor is whey protein!

I eat a low carb diet, very healthy fats, most of my carbs coming from veg and overall very balanced. The issue is i am still not loosing weight, infarct since eating better i am gaining weight. I suspect this is due to the increase of fats but i am not sure. So i am starting keto, it shouldn’t be to hard. (He says.) Ill just remove the high carb veggies and grains, add low carb veggies instead. Maybe exercise more, hopefully i will finally start loosing weight. id say i only eat about 120 carbs a day atm anyway.

Yes, I too am guilty of jumping through diet plan to others as well, I do believe that I must have tested every single fat loss system that was available, however eventually not one of them made it easier for me to lose and maintain the weight off. Butter is the queen at my breakfast table. I eat fish three times a week. People should stop galping sugars. Diet cokes, cherry cokes, classic coca cola, sprite, 7 up, orange juice, apple juice, red bull, snaple, Arizona iced tea, caramel latte, peach nectar, guava nectar. These are all garbage drinks. Best to drink only water.
I find it interesting that some people find the Keto diet so “unhealthy”. Because highly processed foods and sugar are superfoods, right..ughh..no. The essence of Keto is very healthy whole foods filled with vitamins and minerals. Yes, it includes high amounts of fat as well. However, a large amount of the American diet is filled with high amounts of sugar in those carbs being consumed. Sugar may taste better, but it does nothing for you except give you fake short-term energy, health issues, and leave you wanting more. Keto isn’t about binging on eggs, bacon, and red meats. There is more to it. I thought the same until I did my own research. Just do a search for clean keto recipes and you will find so so many delicious and healthy new things to try. Once you get over the sugar addiction, you will be surprised at how much healthier you feel and how you don’t need the processed carbs and sugar. Veggies have carbs, but no long-named and hard to pronounce chemical additives literally making you crave more or messing with your body’s chemistry. Change your frame of mind. Do your own research. Don’t be lazy..learn. Even cutting out sugar and lowering your carb intake will make a difference. Read the labels when you shop for food. Is the ingredient list long? Are there words you can’t pronounce? If so, pick up another brand and another until you find one that offers you a clean version of the food you want to eat. That has been one of the biggest eye-openers for me since starting Keto. The majority of the food available in stores is tainted people. Unbelievably tainted. I can’t unsee it now. I hope this helps someone.

Hello ginger, I don’t tend to cheat as such. Like I haven’t eaten carbs as such. On my kind of cheat days I tend to have a second slice of keto brownies or one or two more of cheese and meat. Will this affect my weight loss. At the moment I’m doing this once a week.

No breads etc. Have a chicken and vege dinner and that can include potato. just no sugar and grains…if you want to eat a sandwich sometimes make it the darkest whole grain possible with seeds and sprouts. This is absolutely the perfect diet. Your body works perffectly on it. I ate it for decades…in fact, all of my life. Not now since the foods are crap anyway. Eat whole milk and butter. Frutis, veges and meats…so what. no grains or sugar except honey.

Just before last summer, my doctor told me I had to lose weight, again. At that time I weighed about 94 kg (207 lbs). I am 175 cm (5’9″) tall.
My non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) had returned. It had improved by losing weight the previous time. But after slimming, once again I regained the lost weight and the fatty liver came back. My iron was out of limits (the ferritin, to be precise). I was taking omeprazole for my GERD.

I have a strange childhoodmemory of that my grandmother and grandfather said were to go to some home for the elderly and the nurse had described something about treatments, aging and surgeries so grandmother got so scared that she had dieted and eaten mostly cooked nettles a bit salt, butter and eggs to that for a while and lost noticeable weight. Although grandfather said she ate mostly butter. Unfortunatedly the weight came back when they had lived at the home for elderly for a while. This was 30+ years ago but I doubt old people are allowed to be on a ketodiet nowadays although It does not need to be so much more expensive to add some eggs, cottage cheese, butter, lowcarb vegetables instead of the bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, Juice, milk and fruit they eat. At least the Nurses would not complain about how heavy they are to lift when they need to get into wheelchairs, outside or to the bathroom. I also think the heaviest of the elderly would feel relief to be able to loose weight.

i dont consider avocados, olives, and tomatoes to be fruit, and i never eat starfish. so the only fruit mentioned here that i would consider are berries. and yet she said right at the end there that vegetables have all of the nutrients that fruit has, so that really, one can avoid fruits altogether and yet stay healthy

i dont consider olives, avocados, or tomatoes to be fruit. they may be from a scientific point of view, but from a nutritional point of view, avocados are far more like nuts, while tomatoes are far more like vegetables. far more importantly, though, was one of the very last things that the lady in the video said here, namely that nutritionally, one does not really need fruits, that vegetables already have all the nutrients that fruits have, but with the added advantage that vegetables are not considered to be a form of sugar the way fruits are. still, there remains a part of me that thinks, “how can fruit possibly not be healthy to eat?” it seems to defy common sense

first, simple sugars and carbohydrates are not the same thing. Hence why they have different designations on food labels. Yes, carbs are broken down into sugars but they are still different intakes. There are 4 different macronutrients from which your body can burn for “fuel”:
1. Carbohydrates
2. Sugars
3. Protein
4. Lipids/Fats

Been low carb or keto or carnivore (rotates) for the past year. Still have occasional cravings for little Debbie snacks and doughnuts as I found out today at Target. The ENTIRE entry display was 100% Junk food. For real. It was so disheartening and disappointing.

That is so right about protein…. I’m so insulin resistant, that I believe, my body turns all proteins into glucose… Because I feel woozy from meat the same way I feel from eating something sweet…. Before I found out about protein turning into glucose, I couldn’t understand why I felt like that… For 20 years I ate meat very little and only three times a week, because I have rheumatoid arthritis, and meat is to acidic for me…. But I started to hurt really badly every day,… And from sheer desperation I started to research different way of living, because my 20 year diet stopped working for me as I aged. My concern about watermelon and other melons, is the fructose. Berries are mostly glucose as well as grapefruit and lemons and lime. Fructose is much worse than glucose. Melon is highly not recommended by me on keto.
Maybe they should represent the energy percentage as in calories instead of a physical disk shaped representation of percentages which is totally misrepresenting the quantities. It looks to me they wanna make this diet look unhealthy and unachievable

Tomatoes are a night-shade fruit. People who have autoimmune diseases should definitely stay away from them. They cause a lot of inflammation.

I seem to not really ever enter ketosis, however restricting carbohydrates to just 100 grams a day eating fruits and vegetables seems to still allow me to lose weight. I’m at 270lbs from 277lbs just a week and a half ago.
