I don’t think the freshman 15 will happen to me. I like going to the gym when I can if a friend pays for me lol I’m cheap or sometimes planet fitness has a friend thing. When I’m in college there will be so many things to keep me active and there is soooo much actually tasty healthy food there that I don’t even have in my own home. (I’m only a junior in high school now btw)
Do kim Kardashian’s workout for a week! Ive heard she works out every day and the butt routine poppilates channel did was rough!!
cutting out just instant noodles in my life last 2 years of university, made me loose all the weight i gained the first 2 years. LOL
What about post college? I moved away to my husbands home state, and I’m having a hard time making friends
As a transfer this semester this video couldn’t have came at a more perfect time! Thank you for all your encouragement and advice!
this would’ve been helpful with the whole unlimited meal plans T_T
i leave in 6 days to start my freshman year and i’m going to miss my dog so so much, your videos always give me such happiness and peace even when i’m super anxious about leaving
I didn’t gain weight 1st semester and I was like oh this freshman 15 is fake and bam came the 2nd semester and yeah 15 pounds came on top
Yeah, like I said I lost a lot of weight and felt better when I was a vegetarian. John
Okay THANK YOU for not assuming everyone is good at socializing/making friends
Freshmen 15…. more like freshmen 50…. It think its because we are so used to getting a home cooked meal in high school. the meals were well thought out by mom. then you get to college and its all you can eat in the school cafe, fast food restaurants in the food court, donuts, muffins, danishes in the dorm lobby. Its not a good combination.
I’d like to note, even though very few will see this, that when you hang with your friends, YES. If you are an extrovert, YES, your friends will leave you being more energized. That being said, as an introvert who’s learned the difference between healthy, good friends and toxic, unhealthy relationships (cause they’re not friends), I DON’T FEEL ENERGIZED AFTER HANGING OUT WITH FRIENDS. I don’t. It’s because I’m an introvert and I get the most energy from being alone. It’s critical that you spend time with people, because people need other people, but you won’t always feel energized from people, even the best people. Introverts rarely get energized from hanging with people, in my opinion. IN MY EXPERIENCE (emphasis to show this is my personal opinion, not to yell haha), healthy friends will make introverts feel content after hanging with them. Contentment is my go-to emotion check. I may be exhausted after talking with a friend. But am I happier/lighter (no matter how little)? Content? Do I feel better when I’m with them, and vice versa? Then that’s a good indicator that they’re a good friend.
Love you and I just wanted to reach out to all the other introverts out there:D
I gained that and more…-_ I’ve been holding steady since then, I want to lose some of it though.
@Bittersweet123
I KNOW. I’m in the process of losing the last 10 lbs. gaining that 25 sucked!!
I’m a uni prof and I make sure to have my students introduce themselves to each other on the first day of class, to exchange contact, to study together. It often starts a little stilted, but by the end the semester, some people make real connections. I work at a small undergrad uni, which means that a lot of students end up taking multiple classes together. So hey, they talked for 5 mins in my class and then they recognize each other a few days later in another lecture! This person doesn’t have to be your best friend, but they can be a great support even for a semester.
Also, for mental health/stress, go see your prof/TA during their office hours (or by appointment). We can support you through a stressful assignment, alleviate any unnecessary worries, be a sounding board, and cheer you on. Students worry about imposing: you’re not.
You can always just do what I did and work out every day and not party! lol
I gained weight, but it was due to growth, not overeating. But I simultaneously got taller and kept looking thin. Now 25 and still eating whatever I want. Of course track and field helped alot though…
I’m moving to a new country for college on tuesday, you couldn’t have posted this at a better time
Awww john! I bet shes watching this video right now saying damn i should of stayed with him haha
It would be a shame for you not to burn fat when other normal people accomplish it so easily using Fat Blast Lifestyle (Google it).
Idk why i JUST now subscribed, you’re always recommended to me & i love your videos!!!
also new video on my channel xoxo
This is the first time I’ve ever heard of somebody pulling a Bass-O-Matic in real-life.
@AlxandreGustavEiffel
Don’t forget her missing nipples at 1:43
I’ll be in the minority and say that weight loss isn’t such a big deal as much as eating healthy. Humans will ALWAYS gain weight as they grow up. It’s basic science.
I have the opposite problem. I get so stressed and I lose 15 lbs
Don’t let the adderal fool you, long-term use will cause lot’s of psychiatric problem’s not mentioning the fatigue coming off… speaking from 5 year’s of experience using it, all-day 25mg
It’s a myth depending on the person. I know someone that ended up gaining 30+ lbs their first year just because they ate complete junk, and sat in their room playing video games constantly.
My first year I lost 15 lbs.
Second year, which I’m just about done with, I’ve lost 17 lbs so far. Decent food choices, no constant snacking, and I always try to do things to be active. Like walk around campus, take longer routes to class, play video games involving movement like Just Dance 3…..
I kinda went the opposite way on the whole freshman 15 thing. Instead of gaining weight, i got abs. Go figure. Haha. If you don’t want to be a fatty, eat less and exercise more.
I love this, but unfortunately I can’t exactly party too hard even for a month, because I’m on a quarter system, not semester. meaning fifteen credits in only ten weeks, Jesus. And I gotta get accepted to law school after lmao
Ehhh. Why would you just eat crap like that? I know theres the cost issue but still.. At my high school most of the kids (mainly athletes) eat like an apple and a protein shake for breakfast and things like that. I just couldn’t imagine eating ice cream and fruit loops.. With donuts on the side…
Show yourself some patience and grace. Gaining weight isn’t the end of the world. Forgive yourself if it happens. Don’t focus on the weight, focus on feeling healthy and enjoying yourself. College is about having new experiences so don’t deprive yourself.
Kel that pained laugh after admitting you went to college for seven years sends I—
freshman 15 can happen to anyone. I ran a 4:58 mile my sr yr of h.s. and i still run (a lot, but not as much), but since the fall of 2009, ive gained 8lbs.
Advice? Go ahead and be uneconomicalonly eat at the dining commons for one meal a dayif you go to be social & hang out w/ friends, just have coffee and fruit rather than a full meal. Also, make salad and steamed veggies your best friends. My [human] friends made fun of me for my mountainous plates of plain salad at first, but then several started to try it, too, as spring break drew close…
Thank you so so much for this video! I am just going to uni this year and I’m scared for my diet! Hahah, I love your videos Keltie, thank you so much for awesome content always!!
If most kids today went to college to study only, socializing once in a while, instead of all this crazyness we see now in most colleges in the US and Canada, we would not be seeing tragedies on TV of shootings on campuses or news of girls being sexualy abused in their dorms.
Keltie is one of my favorite people in the whole universe istg. You have such an amazing relationship with food that i’m so jealous of and i’m planing on following ur “path”. Thanks for everything, you’ve helped me not to be scared of food.
Wish I heard these tips 4 years ago! But so happy you made this video, more people need to hear this!
When I left for college I went from 240-170… what weight gain???? I barely afford food…
Intramurals are great too!! I work for my university’s intramural program and some schools have TONS of sports to try!
We also do love getting to know the regularsgetting a routine really does make it all better!
Keltie, I absolutely love this! Thank you for always being so authentic and motivating, ily ❤️
Journaling has helped me IMMENSELY! I started to do it more when I was in that bittersweet phase before moving out two years ago and I would do it every couple of weeks or so. It’s nice to look back to read about how I’ve transformed since then up to now.
hahaha funny..this stuff is true and I have a video on avoiding the freshmen 15
Tons of my friends are doing the carnivore diet in college rn and I don’t get it.
I’m eating sooo much junk food while watching this video; I blame TYT for making me fat!:DD
7 years of uni for a bachelor’s degree is normal where i live bc uni is just so hard here
This video is already out of date, it’s now the freshman 25!
ooooh I have the best idea for another vid! trying out like the average “vsco” girl diet and workout. or one specific girl that goes into the “vsco” category lol
In my freshman year, I went from around 220 to 180 pounds. I am 5’6 and use to weigh 240. Really got into running before going to school. Ran almost daily and ate only 3 big meals a day.
I dropped down all the way to 148 pound before my junior year, but classwork, and baked goods shot me up to around 155-160.
Soooooo true about your routine being completely off once college starts
You’re so genuine I can tell you really want to help us, you’re not just posting for the views You’re awesome I’m adopting you as my big sister. Thanks Keltie
Have a super fast metabolism thanks to having an ectomorphic body type >_<;
John’s a good dude! rick is slowing getting annoying to me.
To prevent a hangover, try drinking water between alcoholic drinks. Also chug water before you go to bed and eat something like a grilled cheese sandwich or eggs and it won’t be as bad in the morning ;). Don’t mix too many types of alcohol and if you do,go from light to heavy (beer to gin for example).
Dude i went from 225 to 285 in 2 years, got diabetes, then dropped back down to 235 before i left school. THAT is college weight change for ya.
I love your personality and your way of thinking so much! You’re kinda the first person who REALLY changed the way I think about fitness.
I fricking used to weight 210 pounds and lost 30 pounds in 8 months, I wish I gained 15 pounds
Good genes FTW!!! I was 150 lbs from 18 to 24. Not to mention my eating habits aren’t the best, but at the same time I play a lot of soccer. At the moment I’m currently at 160 lbs.
if a guys go vegan, it’s proven that his body will start creating more estrogen.
I go to community college (living with my parents) and I’ve lost 40 pounds in the last 4 and a half months. ha
i heard that allowing yourself to have chin nuts makes you lose a lot of wait
I’m so glad you threw in the take off your make up before you sleep. WASHING YOUR FACE IS SO IMPORTANT!
Work out more, eat less.
Why did you have to make a 4:20 long video? It’s not a mystery.
I wish I never went to college and could make an unfunny vid about it. Or if I did, keep it as stereotypical as possible.
actually frozen fruits and vegetables are more healthy then the fresh ones. Because they are frozen the keep the vitamines won’t break down
Please do dorm workouts. And also maybe something how to feel comfortable in the gym. Cause I am intimidated by it.
I’d love to see a week of your favourite work outs! You do everything and everyone’s else’s but I don’t know if I’ve ever seen your ideal week or what you do not for videos ❤️
Try getting broke. Then you can’t affrod anything but cereal, cans of veggies and ramen.
Take the bus and hike your arse around a huge campus, take all the long ways, the hills, the stairs.
This may seem like a silly question, but what’s the sound effect you use to make the DING sound when you put up the smiley faces at the beginning
I just take all my textbooks and carry them around all day. like 70 pounds. lol
I had a weight loss bet between me and my buddy, he is a great deal bigger than me, but I set it up so that he would have more motivation to lose weight. Me, not making it easy on him, stopped eating dessert (I don’t drink, do pot, beat my GF, no, my one flaw is my sweet tooth). I lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks just from that alone, not improving any other diet stuff nor exercising at all.
165 really is a healthy weight, I weight 155 im 6ft and I have a belly. I think americans are too comfortable with fat.
I LOVED THIS VIDEO. It calmed my nerves BIG TIME. I literally feel relief tears coming, thank you for your humour, your smile and these amazing tips!!! I am even more excited to start first year uni now, but with less worry and less anxiety!! THANKS TO YOU IT’LL BE MORE LIKE FRESHMAN NEGATIVE FIFTEEN NOW >:) Much love ❤️❤️
Fuck. Freshmen Fifteen??
More like Frehsmen Thirty for me.
I went through the first few years of college not drinking (because I did a bit in high school ♀️) and then when I was in my last couple years (I went for 5) I made some friends and went to some smaller parties and then didn’t drink much. Then I had my “drink and experiment with the sugary cocktails” phase in my later 20s, and now I’m in my 30s with extra weight I can’t seem to lose… so, I agree with Keltie on this one! Get those sugary drinks out of your system when you’re young and starting Uni! At least in Canada and other countries where you can drink at that age. Do it while you’re young, then learn from it and be fitter later. Some people have it in them to refrain from drinking their whole lives, but a lot of people want to try it all out and it’s best to do it in the younger years, learn from it and then by the time you leave college, know your drink and stick with that. Studying is important, but so is having a social life! Get the tester phase out of the way, so you can really work on your degree in the later years instead of saving it all for when you finish! It’s a lot harder to get it off later in life!
commenting bc ILY and I LOVE THESE VIDS and GOTTA HELP THAT YT ALGORITHM!!! #SupportShambleSquad
so to lose weight I need to eat icecream and blend fish with fruit. Humour is great but you guys aren’t that funny.
I subbed to TYTU for information and opinion about college related stuff. Humour can fit in, but its starting to take over these stories.
60% fact, 30% opinion, and 10% humour aprox. is what I’m looking for, thumbs up if anyone else agrees so these guys can start putting out better vids.
Maybe I’m in the minority but I think you will find like-minded individuals unsubbing.
This was such a holistic and helpful video for kids going through this. Great job. Wish YouTube was what it is now when drunk snacks and being seidentary= freshman 25
I loved this!! Such good advice! My biggest tip for drinking is to really force a good breakfast afterwards, like eggies and potatoes and salt and then you’ll want to eat good the rest of the day because your breakfast started it right for you!
best way to stay fit and be smart:. don’t get mom and dad to pay for you, and be broke. you’ll be hitting those books dreading to get out of college… not only if you study when people are not, you’ll be finished with early, and people will be wondering how you have all this “free time”
Ironical things:
Elephants are the largest land mammal and could make any human fly with a whip of the trunk (vegetarian)
Ants are small as fuck but can lift 20 times their body weight (vegetarian)
Oh did i mention horses and hippos are also vegetarians?
@Linktehhero For Sure not something you want to try on finals week…lol
Oh no, I did too. But then my girlfriend broke up with me two weeks before my sophomore year, and that was like my batman moment. My sophomore year I went to the gym and ran five times a day. That kind of raw cardio will keep you lean.
I gained 30 pds during the summer between freshmen year and soph.
Your makeup looks good to me! Also I like carrots:) lol:)
What I found surprising while at a US university is how extremely expensive fruits and veggies were esp.in cafeteria. And the portions were astounding (at least for a european mind )
Lol I just had vodka tonic before my early classes freshman year (heck I even took it with me to class sometimes) it was definitely an interesting time in my life hahaha
and don’t get hammered the night before a final exam! (do as i say, not as i do…)
YouTube keeps recommending hot chick’s with fitness channels >_>
Meh, I won’t complain
if you’re in rotc or a corps of cadets program you will probably lose 15lbs
so grateful that you are making college videos right now! i’m super nervous for college but all these tips are helpful:)
Please could you do a video on workout’s you can do in your dorm room?
Workout classes in college are so awesome because they teach you literally everything you need to know about working out i mean it sounds obvious but theres a lot of really useful information you learn
Hi Keltie, great video, I’m trying to take on the food tips to make my life easier as I’m too busy to cook. Could you try do a challenge to find a workout that will burn the most calories in 20 minutes? For those if us who don’t have enough time in the day to exercise!
Avoid video games? I thought video games helped hand-eye coordination, and the kinect?
Galaxy brain: you can’t gain a freshman 15 if you don’t go to college. (It me.)
Not very good advice, I’ll skip it and stick with the dollar value meals…
I think people need to research the meaning of a healthy meal. Protein ratios etc.
What beautiful eyes and wonderful energy, you have!! Keltie. Otherwise a great video as usual
take a dep breath2 think of somebody you like3 press f10 five times4 send this to 5 yioutube videos5 look at your backround 1 hour a
Biggest thing for me is packing a gym bag before i go to class so i can just go to the rec/gym after! If I’m super tired I’ll do some yoga or a little toning session with a little walk or run at the end! Plus if i don’t go, i get annoyed with myself that i packed a bag and dragged it with me all day so it makes me more accountable of my actions!
How to lose freshman 15: stop swallowing and spit?
Maybe actually get on top and do some work?
Just a couple of thoughts:P
I love how much effort you put into your videos and all the little stuff you add!! (Short video clips, images on the screen, etc)
Hey there, have you seen Atomic Fat Loss? (check on google) You will find out about the serious crimes we commit against ourselves. With Atomic Fat Loss, you will discover how to burn calories fast.
Hey! Do you know about how much protein you have per meal, like 6 oz? Or do you mainly just focus on carbs and fats for your nutrition?
Freshman 15? Pffft, more like the freshman 50 for me. I went into my first semester at 160 lbs, I’m now pushing on 210. Feels bad man:(
Though I’m looking forward to getting a ruthless 40 hour a week summer job at a restaurant, so I’m hoping that’ll help. And then next year I’ll probably be working too.
John, you should do a video with your shirt off to show us all how to stay in shape!
@Linktehhero definitely, i can’t change clothes, eat, do my make-up, pack my bag and ride to class in five minutes!
People who want free workouts, check out pop sugar fitness. There’s like a million workout that are all different
This video is sooo cute! Luckily I won’t have to worry about gaining the weight because aside from school I’m babysitting my year old neice so that’s how I’ll get my excercise! haha! =D
What a B!! My ex actually did something kinda the same to me, dumped me and over summer break I worked out 24\7 so i got fit. and he asked me out again!!
I hope it will be the opposite for me. When I go to college, I want to use my extra freedom to exercise more and eat more healthy foods. Not the stuff my mom just happens to cook every night.
What’s wrong with 165? I think we’re around the same height John 6’0/6’1″ and 165 was me at my heaviest. I went into college at 5’10” 135lbs
Johhhn I hear you man!! I used to be 160 going into college. Somehow by the beginning of my sophomore year I was 205. My ex girlfriend and I didn’t break up because of it but I definitely heard a lot of bullshit for it at the time. Down to 180 now. it’s funny you never think you’re fat, but now looking back at those pictures is crazy!!
@Soooooooooooonicable i set every clock i have ahead, my car too. So i’m never sure how many minutes i have to get to class or work. Also, a jog everyday fr 20 minutes helps
Man I wish I knew you in college. I graduated years ago but I feel you with the drink tips haha
It suppresses appetite and gives you energy to exercise, among other things. John
this should be mandatory watching for all incoming college students at EVERY campus world wide! SERIOUSLY what a great video!!!! NIIIICE!
Considering everything i eat is already pretty shitty at home i think i’m an exception.
Freshmen fifteen really got me, I played basketball at olds last year I was fit but weekends I partied HARD when we didn’t have games
lol amen. When my girlfriend gained weight I didn’t say a thing, and honestly it didn’t bother me, maybe because I gained weight too. But I had to deal with her saying I was overweight and she wasn’t attracted to me anymore, etc.
Weight loss companies desperately want everyone to to try their new products to show that they really do help you lose weight.Well i just found a website that will send free samples to your home, its the best way to get free diet supplements:)Have a look here bit.ly/12M8hvV?v=lufhu
I’m in grad school and this was super awesome and helpful!!! You’re the best girl
I literally just sent this to my roommates and told them that you are our fun mom… so thanks mama Keltie!
lol hated freshman 15! So glad we’re not in school anymore!!
gimmie some of that? lolol xDI remember reading a study where a cow got fatter by consuming more starches, sugars, etc than lard. Then again I avert soda at all costs…
I literally LOVE you and your videos. I just had my first day of sophomore year at Berkeley today and I’m living in an actual apartment for the first time. Thank you so much for touching on not only physical health, but mental as well. And of courseeee, partying 😉 seriously tho fav YouTuber much love
I simply cooked and remained the same weight. XD (The joys of actually being taught basic and complex housework and cooking skills) XD
I know it was a joke on Ana’s part, but since I became a vegetarian I have lost a lot of weight and feel better all around. I don’t understand why it is not advocated more. It is better for you, the planet, and saves thousands of animals from inhumane torture. I think it deserves support not ridiculing!!
Love this video! I am living 1 week now on my own and it really helps to call your mom when feeling down.
Rick is kinda douche in these videos. But he could still get it in a second!
I love your videos! Keep up the Good work also… do you have a tips to someone that wants to start a youtubechannel? That want the videos to be like “vlogg” videos
How about “went to college for 5 years, graduated, and have gained 30-40lbs in said five years”? How do I fix that
LOL I love Rick’s facepalm when the other guy couldn’t pronounce gefilte fish.
the college I’m attending in september has a gym on the lower floor of the building I have classes in, there is absolutely no excuse for me not to use it, however I know I’m going to look at this comment and laugh in a few years (if I can part my fat rolls away from my eyes).
I love to drink tea and flavored water or soda water when I’m studying but not really any other time
I’m gonna pop some addy today! weeeee!!!!!
it’s okay cause i have no friends…wait…nvmd.
Ephedrine + Caffeine + a Protein-sparing Modified Fast. You drop 15-20lb in 2-3 weeks.
Really wish I had this video in my first year. Gained 30 pounds and had to learn these things the second year around! We healthy now though!
So am i the only one running away of people when i do my workout… cause basically workout is my time!
At Muskingum University in Ohio
1. I don’t eat the Soft serve at my school because it tastes like crap
2. I can’t take Laundry Home because I live 7 hours away from home in illinois.
3. I did follow step 6 though. Not Streaking. I became my Schools mascot.
I love junk food and I am still not fat. Many of my friends envied me that I could eat so much Junk Food and STILL not get fat and i do not even do a lot of sports.
It’s great to be like me in that respect. He He 😉
I started working out consistently second semester freshman year, and it honestly made everything 10x better. Highly recommend you can’t study for hours on end, so give yourself a break, go work out, get some endorphins, and feel good!
I’m guessing John went home and spent the night eating his troubles away after Ana’s brutal treatment here.
Im a small dude, only 5’8″, and I went up to like 230 pounds by the end of freshmen year. That summer I took phentermine for a couple months and jogged 3 miles every day while cutting calories a lot. Got down to 175 during the next semester. If you are really overweight, ask your doctor about using phentermine for a couple months, but you had better exercise too. If its just alittle weight, just force yourself to exercise.
Ugh college was the best 4 years of my life…not saying I went on three day benders…but I went on several three day benders. I regret none of it!
most of these are terrible recommendations.. just putting that out there.
I became a vegetarian a month into freshman year so I lost 15 pounds
freshman 15? Pfft.. what about the “I’m in grad school, been in college for the last 8 years and I’ve put on 50 pounds.”
Chugging an entire bottle of water before bed is seriously the best advice ever! I learned that trick a few years ago and it literally saves me every morning after choosing to go out and drink the night before!
“A lot of people go to college for 7 years.”
“Yeah they’re called doctors. “
why is rick constantly douchey you guys should make fun of him more to take him down a few pegs lol
im 13 nd i gain fat every day becuz i eat lots over 3000 aday about but i dont see me gaining it only shows on the scale suggestions?
@fldsryn I think my bio book and algebra book will work fine.
Keltie you are so underrated. I binge watch your videos to help give me inspiration to get back in shape.. a big problem I have is I’m an adult picky eater and I’m in my 5th year of college! I love you and thank you!
I lost weight when I started college. Mostly because I just didnt have time to eat. I was more focused on my classes, my job, and finding time to sleep. It might also have something to do with my lack of money.
@Joolie9009 no..but it help u lose weight while u run from the cops:P
This girl and her doctor need to worry less about her weight and diet and more about the fact that they’re made of felt and plastic..
Keltie where was this video when I was in college? On the real though, I have absolutely zero reason to watch a video on this topic, I just love your videos! They are so inspiring and motivating and just make me happy! Thank you for that! Much love from Oregon ❤️
This is such a good video Keltie. Honestly. Thank you so so much. I wish I knew these tips before I went to university but everything you say is still so relevant and applicable even in the workplace and weekly life. Love the vibes, love the energy. As always, thanks beauty x x Hugs from Australia
@olchevyman I wound up doing step 7 my whole last semester without even trying. I had managed to keep really early classes out of my life most of the time, but by senior year I had some required courses I had to get done to graduate and I didn’t get to pick the time. Thankfully the run to class was usually downhill.
YOU ARE FAT AND WORTHLESS AND MUST LOSE WEIGHT
brought to you by your “friend” GENERAL ELECTRIC.
I have no friends at college and I’m near the end of my sophomore year. Eating alone sucks. FML.
Adderall is a great way to lose weight in college. Sweet, thanks for the advice, tytu!
@skygreenjuanita Cause she caused a shift in gravity when she moved… The freshman 15 can do a lot to a girl…. Or the table was cheap ^w^
aaaand they mentioned actual working out 0 times in the video. Fuck you, Howcast.
can you do a challenge where you wake up and workout at 5am everyday for 30 days? There’s a lot of people claiming that it changed their lives. i think it’d be super fun to do it!
I cannot relate more with tip number 9, overdoing the coffee creamer in my coffee I feel like has made me gain the freshman 15 lol
Adderall is like being on speed, except it’s more driven toward focus. Also, it suppresses appetite big time so you’ll feel your stomach growling but have no impulse to eat
I’m at Uni and have lost weight down to 126lb ;_; Food is so heavy to carry back from the store though
I lost about 15lbs my first semester because our campus had so much walking! In our dorm I also didn’t eat the entrees. Not because of weight but because they just sounded gross. So I ate soup, salad, and sandwiches. For breakfast I’d do cereal and fruit.
The background looks like the school Im going to transfer too, lmao!!!
“I became a hardcore vegetarian. I went days without eating sometimes” -To clarify, these two things having nothing to do with each other.
Also, why is having a vegetarian diet apparently a “disastrous idea”?
Best video with real advice. Would love more college videos
Yesss! I really like this video. Ugh, I miss college. I loved my time studying in college in the US. I kind of wish I learned all of this then. Great list of tips.
Wish I could call my mom she passed away 2 years ago so if you can call your mom definitely don’t take that for granted
@fluffycottncandi More colleges than just UCLA have all-you-can-eat dining. In fact, I’m pretty sure all 3 colleges in my area have all-you-can-eat.
@greygrey40 then again if you eat shitty food w/o nutrients, you really won’t see any results. i lold at the video though lol
As a recent college grad, well done! I couldn’t have said it better myself! I was lucky enough to study abroad and that was when I made the best memories and best friendships. Since I was commuting from my parents house I was able to save up and sometimes the cost of studying abroad is not that big a difference compared to living on campus for a year. Plus you get amazing life experiences. Worth checking out the study abroad department on campus.
Do you have any tips for combating gym anxiety? Like I know that in reality no one cares what I’m doing, but I can’t get myself to go because I’m afraid of making a fool of myself
Really needed this last year lol I got the freshman 15 and then lost it but better later than never ahah
i lost 30 pounds my freshman year. you lose the 15 the same way you lose any other weight: exercise and eat right. no need for any crazy diets or even to become vegetarian, just don’t eat anything that’s fried or covered in any kind of sauce. those two guidelines alone narrow down your food options a lot in America.
Lucky for me a friend asked me to take weight training with her freshman year. As a female who had never lifted weights it was invaluable in feeling comfortable on weight machines. I would also try and take a gym class every semester that way you at least have a couple workouts every week built in to your schedule. I would also play racquetball with friends a lot, we had such a good time!
One thing I’ve learnt in uni too is that people who have their shit together in one area tend to have their shit together overall: like the person who you see at the gym every day at the same time probably also has a consistently good study routine, meal prep routine and social life, and making friends with these people can help you get your own shit together
Wish I’d seen this video before I started college! Sooo many good tips and such an accurate representation of what it’s actually like!
lmao. Setting your alarm 5 minutes before class. That’s so true. It’s happened to me countless times. AAAAhh!!!!
Huzzah for the fast metabolisms! Everyone ought to be jealous of Rick lol…
Dude, I eat potstickers ALL THE TIME. Trader Joes, that’s my shit.
Very informative vid seeing that I’ve never stayed on a college campus. Helpful tips for life in general too. Thanks, Kelt! Totally unrelated question: where do you get your cute tube tops? Thx!
This doesn’t really matter for commuter students. Dorm students usually gain the weight since they’re doing nothing but studying and in their rooms bored to death eating. This is one of the reasons why I’m a commuter freshman.
Hey guys, send me your email in a PM now and i will send you an invite to Lockerz immediately, I PROMISE!!
