What a great recipe, thank you for sharing James! When you bite in the burger, the stringy cheese wouldnt let go and when the cheese / onion / mushroom mixture came to the same moment out on the bottom…. that was the money shot; i got a little wet down in my pants.
I am seriously thinking of getting me also such a grill platform since it seems very useful.
Onions look fantastic. I love sauteed onions but never tried them this way. They’re going on my burger in about 2 hours.

Sorry but a burger patty has nothing it in. You can put salt and pepper on it after it is grilled but not before. Sorry big mistake you just made a meatball for your burger!!
Onions not only look FANTASTIC, the proof is in the taste. Haters will always hate. Absolutely well done here. Great recipe and thank you for sharing.
Swear down this man becomes successful at anything he puts his foot in
The way that Mushroom slice connected with the other mushroom slice at 2:07 made me moist.
Me: Those mushrooms are burnt!
Gordon: Wow, incredible. Amazing
Sorry.. but you put so much salt, fat and oil in those burgers, you could’ve served shit and it’d still taste great!!!
great video James!
what is this paper you are using for the meat to become a patty?
Remember folks, to get bacon crispy you need to… chop it like Gordon does @ 7:31. And for goodness sake, make sure you season your salt with salt before adding salt.
Gordon: “I took some blocks of butter…”
Me: “Okay.”
Gorden: “FROZE IT.”
Me: “Wait. That’s illegal”
The burger the guy got at the end looks nothing comparable to Gordon’s burger

What sort of mushroasted mushrooms did you use? I’m not sure where to get them.
I’ve had some good burgers in my time. Uh, I love a good swiss, melted swiss cheese, mush-roasted mushrooms and caramelized onions on a burger. Uh…that is hot stuff, you can get that atat a number of different places.
Bro caramelized onions does not taste like caramel.. lol he said butter really works with caramel flavor hahaha im dead
I know that gordon is british, but do you think that its a coincidence he did this 3 days before july 4th?
Damn, that was a great video. Keep doing what you’re doing!
So, whats the deal with the rag in his pocket? What is it soaked in? Because as far as I can tell its soaked in raw egg, beef and pork. Then he put it on the cutting board.
Edit time stamp 5:49
I always use spray butter so I can put a little or as much as I need and always Grill gas
Wtf! Mushroom bbq eggs? Lol nu give people crap for trying something new lol. Enjoy your shows
1)Remove the stem from the onion
2) it’s next to impossible to over work a burger patty by hand
3) you should mold a divot into your patty
4) after you shape your Patty, pop it in the freezer for a little bit to reset the meat. This helps keep it from breaking apart
5) you are absolutely correct, do not salt your burger before you shape it.
6) bonus tip, start a reserve jar for bacon grease. Put a little bit of bacon grease in your pan when you are frying your burger. This adds a little bit more fat to the Burger itself, and drastically improves the flavor profile
At 50 million he’ll release the idiot sandwich formula,…..
On Amy’s baking company
That last part was quite hypocritical. U gave that old man crap and made fun of his burger and bun ratio lol. U were wondering how 2 attack it with 1 bite and gave up. Same problem in this video lol
bcs we love ur cursing and ur cooking and ur personality simply
Caramelized onions and roasted mushrooms? Now THATS hot stuff.
great looking burger, that swiss cheese melting looks awesome!! will give it a go, also do u find the lower fat ratio on your burgers tend to make them more dry? or are they still juicy.. anyways keep truckn mate
Finally the mushroom Swiss burger recipe I was looking for…..mmm mmm good
awesome video james! I am a new subscriber to your channel and this is video is perfect! thanks for sharing. What’s the name of the griddle you are using in this video?
Cross contamination? He’s at home cooking for himself. Get over it you pansies
I had that cheese once before and it taste like so one Shit in my mouth
Now that’s hot stuff. I’m sure I could get it at a number of places
The thing about using an electric stove is it needs figuring out with regard to the more direct traditional gas fired or induction heat analog. I think the trick with electric stoves, is to use maximum heat until the pan/pot is almost up to temperature and then turn it down to where you need it to be, using the “overshoot’ to compensate for the *cold” food going in. What are your thoughts on that?
The onions look like shit. Why not just caramelize then rounded rather than that mush?
“you like lettuce so you don’t have to make a salad” wow that kind of rude
That’s hot stuff. I bet you could get it at a number of places too
I missed this wonderful man so much. He makes me laugh, even as a toddler.
Great looking burger James, I’m a big fan of using a griddle for burgers after using Greg’s BallisticGriddle.
Congrats Gordon on the 10mil subs but bloody hell how do you expect to eat that. It’s taller then the NBA games
Where did you purchase the griddle? What temp did you cook on?
lol that looks amazing. you have a major misunderstanding about salt tho lolololololololololol
I wonder what was the total cook time to reduce so much of onion into a cup worth of onion jam.
this looks great!! like the idea w/ the soy sauce and the onions
Gordon: “Don’t go too high with heat to begin with”
Me: Literally sees fire engulf the burgers
thanks man good video im 66 and trying to get back into shape will try this for sure
Ok looks good and delicious but id call it a beef patty with vegetables not a burger not a bun in sight
Too big in my opinion. I prefer them less thick when they’re that tall they fall apart and are difficult to eat.
I love the thick cut mushrooms! I made a similar burger with jack cheese, mushrooms, fresh green chilies, and onion. Next time I am going to slice the mushrooms thicker like yours, and use butter, that looked wonderful! Thanks James for the video!
didn’t you cross contaminate after you touched the beef then grabbed the seasoning?
the nutritional label on the package is raw weight nutrition so it changes when it is cooked so you are getting more fat and protein per ounce if weighed after cooked
