Right Now chicken Cost is 35/kg So that we can get 25gr Proteins in Just 4/
WoooooW
Don’t Fear Eat Chicken Dear
For three minutes in start you didn’t talk about Amy strategy that made me unsubscribe you
Plain flour has 9.9g of protein per 100g, for 300g it’s only 35$. Although it’s very calories dense, for 30g of protein I’m not sure it gets much cheaper than that.
Love these videos so much! You are amazing thank you for all of the motivation!❤️
Thank you very much I recently started with gym I was asking my friends about food for protein this video gave me full clarity. Thanks

When my husband and I were on a TIGHT TIGHT budget (I mean he had lost his job and we had 900 dollars a month for EVERYTHING) I use to pre-look at prices on line. Write down where I found it cheapest and would make a list according to what I found. That way places like Aldi that I couldn’t see prices ahead of time I could look at my list and know if I was getting a good deal or not. I also tried to shop in areas that had the main stores I needed close to each other so I wasn’t driving a ton to get the best deals and lastly I carried a hand calculator. I was in college at the time so I had one of this big fancy ones but now a days I just carry my phone to do the math. I also can price compare on my phone with the stores. So If I am about to buy something I am not sure of I quickly price compare.
I like the idea of going to the store once. I fall into that lets go every few days trap.
Great video, informative and interesting.
Just my personal preference: A stunningly beautiful woman like yourself would look a lot better without so much makeup.
hmm… i guess im kinda lucky becasue I got to custom build my home after it burned down in CA in 2017. so I now have a beautiful pantry and room for a small freezer in the garage. but before that I turned a linen closet near the kitchen into our pantry
We are a family of 7 and I TRY to spend $800 a month, breaking it down to $200 a week. But I have 4 teenagers and 1 college student. So I’m good with that!!
Short, sweet, and to the pointyou’ve earned a like my friend.
I’m surprised that you didn’t mention chicken breast though. It’s probably the best bang for your buck in terms of protein.
Sir I’m very poor and I’m not even able to eat three times a day and I’m very skinny tooo….please give me some suggestions to gain weight and mass… Plzzz sir reply asap
Thanks again Meg for mentioning vegan foods!! I didn’t watch this video when it first came out because I assumed you’d be only talking about meat, but was super pleasantly surprised.
It’s just me and my boyfriend living together and i do the food budget for the both of us and we work from at least £100 per month for the two of us, but with his money we buy non-food items such as toilet roll, cleaning products and aluminium foil etc..
How do i build up a pantry when my husband does not have a fixed income. We are both working fulltime, but he does not get his full pay every month because his employer only say there is no money for full pay.
THANK you for leading me the right way how I eat.is good to know on how to handle the carbohydrates. I am free diabetic for 6 yrs thank you for the information I really meant it.
Greetings to the general public, i want to tell you about how i was cured from my HIV/AIDS disease by a Doctor called @dr_job3 I was browsing through the Internet searching for remedy and fast cure of HIV and I saw comment of people talking about how Doctor Job cured them from their disease and infections. But I Was scared to contact him, because I never believed in the Internet, but I was convince to give him a try because I have no hope of been cured of HIV/AIDS, So I contacted him he gave me hope and send a Herbal medicine to me and I took the medicine and it seriously worked for me and my HIV result came out negative. I pray for you @Dr_job3 God will give you everlasting life, you shall not die before your time. Am so happy now. You can contact him on email: ([email protected])
I tried thisUsing what you have first-And I reduced my grocery shopping from $150 to $100 per month
5 dozen eggs costs 5$ where I live. Gallon of milk 2$. Reading all the comments makes me feel fortunate to be American? I guess! Besides all the racism and prejudice?

Thank you DR for you information very interesting am not a diabetic person but I like to listen to everything keep up the good work
If you’re living in western or north-western Europe, look up Quark in your local store, amazing source of casein and really cheap.
This comment will probably get lost but here goes.
Just subscribed. Usually follow your typical “fitspos” like Whitney Simmons, Nikki B etc, but I love the vibes from your channel meg. Feels like such a welcoming presence in your videos and you’re such a warm and inspiring person. It makes me feel so positive watching your videos, thank you ✨
lentils and other beans are great, and they also add fiber. Just be aware they are less “available” for your body to use
can you make a video on foods high in calorie and protein but don’t fill up a lot? (for the ectomorph people and the permabulkers)
product in america is so cheap, in here, cottage cheese can cost to $11/24 ounce
I’m going to try this in august hopefully it works, but also my husband hunts too
Can you recommend some quick breakfasts? I want to cut down on the amount of yogurt and muslii I eat, but it’s just fast and easy
Thank you you dr for giving us wounderful lessons god bless you
After 25 years of living with diabetes I finally got the information I need! OMG I have never heard a real doctor explain it to me like you have! Thank you! I wish you were in Texas! My sugar readings have been really high. The highest being 415. Last night it was 257. I have quite a way to go but at least now I know what I have to do. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Rita Austin TX
I would love for you to make a video about how to start you stockpile. I will be moving soon and starting from scratch and it all just seems so overwhelming.

Doctor, do you ever read your comments under your youtube videos? I have type 2 diabetes that is causeing a lot of problems like blurred eyesight vision where I see double without glasses and aches and pains in both my arms and upper shoulder in my left arm that is the worst arm. What should I do to get myself back on track?
Does this count hygiene and house hold products ( shampoo, garbage bags, pet stuff and ect. ) when u say 100$ per person
Any tips for when you are the young couple moving into an empty kitchen? Essentials add up quickly when you start with nothing!
Hi doc I’ve been T2 for almost 2 years. Rice, corn, pear, pasta etc. will make my sugar spike. I won’t eat them just can’t control my sugar that way.
wtf, any greek yogurt i find has only around 4-6 grams of protein per 100g.
Dr. I would like to know where to get a cooking book for my little grandson 4 years old, TD-1. I believe this video is more for type-2, right? thank you so much. my email: [email protected] hotmail.com

Ever since I was diagnosed, I took a Diabetic Class and I have been portioning my food. Actually, I tripped my friends out. I don’t have great blood sugars all the time, that’s because I will eat late sometime, I’ve got to do better than that. I normally eat from a section plate. If I drink something it’s 3-4oz. I’m not doing it all day. I can drink a 7.5 oz. All-day. Now I have started drinking a shot glass and it’s enough. I’ve just started eating the Children’s Meals and I’ve noticed a reduction in my blood sugar and the lean quisine.
I’ve read an article that says the amount of calories in a specific ingredient changes according to the cooking method you use.
How do I know how many calories are in a food after cooking it?
Just an example: let’s say I make a burger and melt some cheese on the top of it, I know how many calories are in the cheese raw, but how do i know the amount that it has after melted?
Thank you for putting this on YouTube! I limit myself to this and Facebook to stay productive and love I can see this! Thank you
2$ for 18 eggs? Damn where you lives? Here in canada it’s more like 4$ pour 18 eggs at Costco.
I heard a few friends talking about the diet “loli special plan” and made the decision to Google it for myself. It has completely improved my life for the better. I lost 17.8 pounds.
FYI: your muscles can only absorb 25-35 grams of protein per meal. If you go beyond 35 grams, your body simply won’t make any use of the access protein.
Going through all of your videos in preparation for our first baby coming in October. You’re an inspiration with 8 kids!
Carbohydrate is not our enemy bro it won’t make us fat taking more calories than our maintenance calories will make us fat
Very good breakdown. Thanks for taking the time and producing such a well laid out guide and explanation. Stay strong.
Rather misleading. The title says “High Protein” but there’s a ton of carbs in these meals. High carb is not high protein.
Honestly chicken breast 8 bucks then I buy frozen veggies which each bag is 1 and I buy rice packs for 2 eggs and milk peanut butter all usually cost me about 50 bucks last me for 2 weeks so I spend a total of 100 a month so that’s pretty cheap.
at one point my husband and I were living on half that budget. We were doing 50 per person per month.
the hardest part about working out is the nutrution,
videos like this are gems
thanks

a little under 2 cents per protein?

It feels like your asking questions or about to say something else…
You are telling diabetics they can eat potatoes, rice and pasta??????
this was a really good video, i dont usually learn this much from videos ever. i actually went past a local farm today and a sign outside said “join csa” and i was wondering what that was and now i know! such a relatively straightforward video but this was 10/10 tank u

My blood sugar is always below 7 when I wake in the morning.I am not in any medication. I do regular exercise along with my diet. Is this ok. Thank you.
I just learned about a CSA in my area because of you. Thank you so much!

For any one gluten free I buy a lot of potatoes and rice that’s my tip
3:15. Dumpster diving isn’t necessary. Only buying sales and not wasting any fresh stuff cuts $50 off of an average bill so I’m sure I can’t do $50, but like $80 absolutely.

Too much and you will piss it out, and you will get bad breath. Eat carbs it is healthier according to YouTube experts.
I need more self control lol made it worst that you’re ginger fuego hot for real. anyway back to my original search.
EDIT: I was wrong I think, still hot though
except I am now carb sensitive and can’t do very much in the way of carbs so no beans or lentils for me, I was doing a 90% vegan diet but had to give that up to get rid of the carbs because it’s very carby
Would love to be a patient as you have a location near me, but you dont accept United Healthcare insurance… sucks for me..
Wow, had no idea about this CSA program. THANK YOU! Will definitely use.
Thanks for the great video vivek…I need ur help….I have autoimmune problems which is blood vessels related n intestinal issues…due to which I have severe loose motions with protien loss…now I am protien deficient….can u suggest any super foods in protien which can help me fast….the items you suggested I have already started…
Biomedical Research:
*Antidiabetic effect of combined spices of Allium sativum, Zingiber officinale and Capsicum frutescens in alloxan-induced diabetic rats
* Treatment of diabetic rats with different spice extracts has been reported to reverse degeneration of the pancreas
* Conclusion
The results of this study show that aqueous extract of a combination of garlic, ginger and cayenne pepper has strong hypoglycaemic, hypolipidaemic and organ-protective potential in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. Oral administration of aqueous extract of GGCP modulated the body and organ weights of diabetic rats, reduced hyperglycaemia, attenuated blood and cellular toxicity parameters, and repaired damage to liver, kidney and pancreatic tissues of diabetic rats. Further studies on this combination of spices, mechanisms of action and clinical trials to validate these data, which may lead to the development of more potent antidiabetic formulations, will be carried out in the future.
What would be best? Buying groceries weekly for the week ahead or monthly and then only stocking up on a weekly basis?
Good video. do something for your abnormal hair growth dude..
I love doing casseroles to make hero side kicks. I love doing this taco casserole. I have Costco Taco Seasoning that I use of so much. I cook my meat or meat replacement, add frozen veggies (usually corn or a Southwest blend), add black beans, add shredded cheese, and then get those 40-50 cent corn bread mixes. I make two and pour them over the mix & bake it. A few min before done I add more cheese on top and sometimes chopped cilantro because it is cheap. Beans and frozen veggies are super cheap, like the corn bread, so I can jam back it with that. Plus, since I’m using beans & cheese I could cut out meat or meat replacements to save money and still get tons of protein.
Can you do a vifio on blood pressure drops for instance mine has been consirstly 120 over 70 and my last two visits it was 70 over69 what cause this drastically reduced in blood pressure. Ty
wow thanks for the CSA info! never heard of that, lol. Will be using it!!
I’ve been following you for just about a year now as a newly wed and I have been using your grocery budget method since the end of last summer. I am never going back! My husband and I are lucky that $200 a month of groceries has been great and has forced us to be creative with our cooking. Thank goodness I found you!
Tuna

Youre welcome my fellow fitness lover
Thanks for your help I’m new to you and hear keep it going like this and I’ll be sure to be attentive to it. Thanks and God bless
It’s great to prep ingredients if you have time to combine them every time you go to eat. I totally have to prep Sunday and freeze. I’m a teacher so I have to be in and out the door constantly. Wish I had time to cook every time!
Our currency is rands

Loved that you mentioned CSA’s! I’m a farmer and I’ve been following you for years!
I’ve just started a new macro-based plan and this video is EVERYTHING I need! THANKS for making it easy to understand, interesting and not an overwhelming forest of madness
I purchase 2 rotissiere chickens from my local grocery store and snack on chicken all week. $14 investment for a week’s worth of good and tasty protein!
Great video! Too bad black beans didn’t make your list though considering they cost about.05 cents/gram of protein and taste better than garbanzo beans and lentils.
I wish I could eat grass from my neighbors yard for $50/month. Its an insane amount. Is catfood high in protein?

I was looking for a Cheap Protein video and found this. Thank you for the great info presented. BTW you’re also incredibly beautiful!!:-)
Do you get paid by the big pharma to prescribe diabetes medication? Please comment on type 2 diabetics that do not require medication but maintain excellent blood sugar level (A1C) by limiting carbohydrates and as a result, they have achieved wonderful success in terms of glucose levels, blood pressure and cholesterol.
Do you think it’s time to try something else rather than the 50 year old method that leads to diabetes getting progressively worse? Would you agree that carbohydrate is poisonous to diabetics and those who avoid carbs can truly manage their condition effectively and have premeal glucose levels in the 5’s?
I usually get the now sports 7lb thing of pea protein off amazonit’s costly up front but pans out to $0.47 per ounce which is not quite 30 grams of protien, but maybe cheaper than any of the options you’ve meantioned.
We have a sectional that has a corner and leaves a huge gap between the couch and wall…. bingo, bango there is where we store canned good, etc. We also turned our coat closet into a pantry as well… We are a family of four in a small apartment. We moved here because its in a city/county where my oldest can get the therapies that he needs. When we used to live in a rural county we had a much bigger fridge and even a standup deep freezer it was huge! So we lost a lot of space, but we made do to do what is best for our children! We’re making it work <3
I’ve seen a tonne of meal prep vids and this is by far and away the best one I’ve come across in terms of educating on keeping things interesting and flexible. Most of the bro plans out there are so rigid and flavorless. Thank christ for you.
My father’s fasting will always 100 to 130 but the problem is his low blood pressure when he diet his b.p go down he is also heart patient what should we do?
My mom diabetes always high no sugar or things high with sugar
Enjoyed this vid. My diet is basically ground beef, pork steaks, rice, pasta, porridge and sometimes lamb organs.
I always throw the rice in the pan with the pork once it’s cooked so the pork juice gets sucked in by the rice
I add firecracker sauce to my beef and pasta at night too for some good flavour
I never thought about lentils before and I’d never even heard of the gironda beans or whatever theyre called but will defoz have a look now as I’m messing around with my macros atm
Anyway thanks for the new ideas and you look smoking hot in the thumbnail but i figure you already been told that a ton
When me and my husband were newlyweds in a two bedroom small apartment we turned a coat closet into a walk in pantry. we got awesome click in shelving from costco so we could take it with us and shelved the entire thing for our food storage. Now we are in a larger house we have racks for canned foods in our garage and are saving for a chest freezer. You just have to get creative and think outside the box!
Okay but what do you put in your smoothie/smoothie bowls they looked amazing in the video!
the more protein in your diet = the faster the aging process of your body.
I tryed this for one year now, so before covid we spend 70 euros per week (family of 5 in Portugal) but my 3 girls eat lunch at school, now we make all our food in home and take for work, the budget is 120 euros per week. Includes all cleaning supplies and cat food. We still save a lot of money compared to what we spend before Jordan…
I’m so glad to see you recommend 1g of protein per pound of LEAN MASS. I see so many recommending 1g per pound of body weight, and that much protein makes me hate my diet.
Eat with diabetic, carotte, celery, Apple, olive oil, but canola oil is bad? Waiting every time on video, that you can name it, the right kind of food? The sign of video promise? With respect to you.
Thank you Jordan you are already making an impact on my budget. I can’t wait for your book. As you mentioned, GF and teens etc., What I have done is convert USA dollars to AUD that gives me $143.00 pp per month and its working!! We are a family of 4 with 2 hungry teens. Our son is 19 and eats at home, cooks his lunch to take to work, if he wants anything else he buys it himself.
My friends first introduced me into the diet plan “fizy amazing plan”, and i also googled it. I actually first discovered about it via my friends and I can`t believe how much it has changed my entire life. I have dropped 18 lbs so far and I feel fantastic.
For my UK friends (and maybe elsewhere idk) the app Green Jinn is amazing for shopping because you can buy things and then get cash back afterwards (almost like coupons) by showing them your receipt with the specific item on it… I always look at it before planning my meals
Thanks for really making clear the Nutrition Facts, I never thought to count it by servings. This was very informative. Thank you.
I find instacart helpful when I still need to go to the grocery store myself but add what I need to my cart on instacart to make sure I’m within my budget before going to the store!
She needs to make app for first what’s already in the freezer and the refrigerator before it goes bad than use what’s going bad to meal plan.
I do have an extra fridge on the back porch! And some storage space beneath the stairs, which serves as my pantry. My favorite is the freezer, though. I feed a family of four, but we only buy meat 3-4 times a year. Actually, we buy almost everything in bulk.
pea protien tastes awful in smoothies ect. i use it in chillis or anything that has strong flavors that will cover the pea protien flavour.
Pineapples have indeed for a long time been a symbol of Hawaii but they are not native to the Hawaiian islands. Pineapples can be traced back to their origin in South America, and are linked together with Hawaii because of the large pineapple industry that was build on Hawaii in the early 1900s.
Finally got the code worked and took the bundle, yeeeeeeeeeey.so excited to start the programs
My weight is 80kg so I need 80g of protein if one gram is of 2 i need to spend 160 daily fu*k whyyyyyyy
I’m kinda lucky in that working out kills my appetite so I can eat the same boring “bro foods” every day and be fine with it but it’s definitely turned every meal time into a chore.
A mostly carnivore diet with some fasting will reverse diabetes
I love this however $100 is way too expensive for me… I work in a restaurant making $4 an hour before taxes and my entire income is tip based so I basically have to live off of $30 a month for my grocery budget…I would love to see her try my budget limits and see what she can come up with
WRINTING YOU FROM BOLIVIA!!!!…… u rock man!!!!!! to be SINCEER I DIDNT MADE ONE YET!!!! but they look awesomeeeeeee AND ITS HAS NUTRITION DETAILS!!!!! keep UP!!!!!
Thanks Dr for this very good information and advice. Will keep on checking in.
Just remember people, when it comes to eating your fruits and veggies, non organic is infinitely better than not eating them. Organic vs non organic isn’t cut and dry, there’s negatives and positives to BOTH. When it comes to the big picture, a good hypothetical here, if everyone had to eat only organic then we’d have billions die to starvation. Growing organic takes up a huge amount of space and has a lot more CO2 emissions. I don’t know where this obsessive idea that eating organic is the best idea came from, but it kinda has to stop. Do your reading/research!!
My daughter budgets £18 per week! And if she eats may she only eats higher welfare products.
We have a family of 5 and, with your tips, I have not only cut our grocery down to around $150 a week (we also have 2 cats and 5 dogs so we needed just a tad bit extra), BUT the last 2 weeks, I have also included some shelf cooking because we’re getting ready for back to school and needed more money freed up. The last 2 weeks I have spent LESS THAN $120, including paper towels, toilet paper, basic hygiene, and pet supplies! Thank you sooooo much for all your tips!!
I try to cook 5 days a week and we eat out 1 or twice a week. It does help us save money
can I suggest, when you make a video to make things visible, i cant see any of those proteins what they are without audio. some people watch these videos at work, or cannot use the sound, so we just watch, not even one of those cans is visible what it actually is.

I have 2 questions for you Jordan:
1. Do you include diapers and formula in the total number?
2. How to reconcile the extra 1/2 week each month? Do you budget 4.5 weeks each month? Those couple days always throw me off.
Great tips! I’ve watched all your videos in this series and I keep learning more and more!
Since covid and now becoming a family of five we have majorly budgeted and planned. I talk to my kids about it all the time. Say no for now so we can say yes for later. We made “mommies grocery store” in our basement with shelves from home depot for $30. We have diapers that I bought that were on sale with doubled coupons so we don’t pay full price, same with wipes (we used cartwheel app, coupons, Ibotta, and fetch). We have dry product and beverage items that we just rotate on through. With covid you never know if the item you want is in store so if it’s something we use often I will grab one extra (not all of the product and hoard just one extra) so next week when I need the item again and it’s not available atleast I have my in a pinch back up. This week using shelf cooking I only needed 6 items so I was able to use the rest of my budget for some fun kid activities and still came out under. I also meal planned around my work schedule so there are left overs for my family when I work late so they don’t order out. I recommend you to everyone asking about budgeting and planning, you have helped my family so much! Thank you Jordan!!!
My biggest tip is to do grocery pickup! I always stick to my budget because I see what’s there on the list and how much it all costs. If I’m going over, I just delete some things from my cart. ETA: I was typing this half way though the video, awesome that you added it lol.
Something I do is add items to the grocery pickup app so I can get a total before tax. Once I get it to the desired amount, I use it as my shopping list. If it’s something on sale, such as meats about to expire or veggies that are reduced, I now have even more room in the budget for other things or I save the “extra” for next week.
I love your budget methods and Ive been using it since April. Thank you for all the amazing ideas. ♡
Definitely think your budget is doable. It’s just my son and I and I spend between 280 max 350 a month. But living in Nd fruits and veggies are more expensive. And I wish I could do more freezing but I don’t have a deep freeze
Love watching your videos you keep me motivated during lockdown my 20 year old and 2 grandsons moved back home ( small 3 bed house) and we were already a family of 7 so now 10 and just found out I am pregnant again I turned my brick shed that is attached to my house in to food store 2 freezers and shelving it’s been a life saver my total budget for everything per month including what my daughter pays for is £700 per month but in the last month I have saved £150 in my change jar
I use the bottom couple file drawers in my filing cabinet to store extra boxed foods and paper goods.
This is awesome Information for free.
Very helpful, Thk u Doctor.
Oh mayyne these things are so fucking expensive in my country. Tuna costs like 4X the price of chicken here. Why?
What do you do in months with 5 weeks? Do you increase the monthly budget or decrease the weekly budget? Because 12×4 is only 48 weeks of the year.
I have a small family of four and our grociers go up to $200 per month. Our main problem is spending on clothing and toys. Any tips on that??
I got it very helpful… It was a very useful video.. Thank you for making it.
Such a great and informative video! Love this style. Great tips. To save $$ and time at the grocery store I use this app called Flipp. I’m in Canada and not sure if you have it in the US but it’s got weekly grocery store digital flyers and you can search for sales etc, similar to the website you said but I have it on the go on my phone. I also use it to price match items and show the cashier to get a discount if your store does that!
Interesting. I’ve found that for my husband and I, I spend about $350 a month, but that includes all my non-food items as well, like laundry soap, toilet paper, etc. If I have to, I can make do on much less, but it’s more work with specific planning and cooking.
My gfs family of 4 (2 females, 2 males) her dad ONLY spends 100 on food and it’s not nearly enough they need.
Google “lyly amazing guide” to get the best diet plan in the world. It quickly delivers incredible results to users. I’ve already slipped 10 lbs in less than 7 days.
Thank you for the tips Jordan!:)… But with all respect we should keep in mind that of course canola oil it’s more cheaper than avocado oil, strawberries are cheaper than organic strawberries and the list goes on. So I guess the budget also depends on your priorities as a mom. I’d rather expend more $$ giving my baby organic spinach than the dirty ones:)…Maybe we don’t see how GMO or pesticides affects our bodies in one, two or three years but they definitely are bad for our health and our families:).
Thanks for giving all that information for each protein source!
That bikini pic make me click as you expect click bite body for click you cheet for your good good frends don’t show your bikini pic it is bullshit
Hey, Jordan! I found your channel a year ago just before moving across the country. We really didn’t have any food when we unpacked in our new place. I loved the idea of having a “store” of food in my house, so I started buying “one for now, two for later.” My husband found some used metal shelving and set up a little storage shelf in our basement laundry room. As the months went by, it got completely filled with food that we actually used on a regular basis. When the pandemic hit the US in March and the grocery stores were getting cleaned out, my MIL called me in a panic saying she’d send me a bunch of money so I could hurry and go buy food storage. I told her I already had food storage and texted her a photo of my shelves! It gave her (and me!) so much peace of mind during a stressful time. Thank you for all your helpful advice! <3
I am really looking for gluten free meals and my youngest daughter hates rice…
For people like me that only get so much a month.or someone on foodstamps 400 a month is a lot.I try 130 to 230 a month.not counting eating out.
Why do people keep talking about Greek yoghurt? I am not familiar with it, but I saw two-three packs in the supermarket here in Germany and the protein content wasn’t that much. I buy grained cheese (which I know isn’t yoghurt, but it is better in protein content than the available cottage cheese) and quark
Hi can u suggest good whey protein brands for weight loss.
My motive is weigh loss NOT making bulky muscle building.
1g of protein per pound of body weight not kg around 1.6g of protein per kg of body weight
All of your videos are SO incredible helpful!!! Thank you!! on another note, I’m dying to know what foundation you use, it’s so smooth and not cakey!
Hi Doc! I have type 2 diabetes and I’m so skinny! I want to gain weight! Can you help me what to eat to gain weight? I have been eating low carb and a little bit of dessert with less sugar. And I always look at the Nutrition Facts in the box, 1 serving I cut in half, ’cause I’m very careful of what to eat. Please help me to gain weight without increasing my blood sugar. Thank you! I’m waiting for your response Please!
Off topic, but your front two teeth are so cute. I wish mine looked like that (little larger than the other teeth)
can’t wait for your cookbook! it’s gonna be the first one i’ll buy lol
Just came across your channel and I’m loving it! Finding easy and tasty ways to eat healthy is the hardest thing for me. Keep up the awesome content!
I like that, “scrappy!” Yesthis morning my celery was lookin sad so it got chopped and thrown in freezer for a soup at some point.
I love your tipps! It so fantastic! I hope, i can change my life und spend money.
do you have any idea how to incorporate more lentil in your diet? other than dhal and lentil soup.
They said don’t use canola oil. Thank you very much—video is very useful to me.
This guy talks in a way that I thought this is a commercial and I wanted to skip.
Hi Doc Im having a hard time eating vegetables. Im juicing it like apple carrots and celery. My Question is I’m type 2 diabetic do you think juicing vegetable is applicable To me?
1 gram for every lean body mass. Is this true for males also? This would help alot and make my life easier.
400 per month. was hoping I was just way out of line but nah
Really those vegiterian source are not lean source of protine they have equal or more amount of carbs and fat
This is exactly how I do my budget and shopping and good planning. Like to a T this is how I do it. I’ve kept my food in closets. I used to store my deep freezer on my patio before we moved into our house now where we have it in the garage. I have a giant storage under my house, and I now store bulk cans and such under there (:
I’ve watched some of your videos on groceries in the past and I have implemented some of your tips. My favorite is ordering online instead of going to the store and only once a week. I cheat a little bit because I order my groceries for delivery from Walmart but I do go to Publix (grocery store) because each week they have a few things that are on sale that I need and it’s a better price than Walmart and then I go to the local produce market for my produce because that’s less expensive and better quality than Walmart. But I stick to only doing those once a week. Right now I have 9 people living in my house and I probably save a hundred and fifty to $200 a week by doing this. Over the past few months I slipped a little bit and I found myself spending $400+ a week on groceries. I like to stick to 200 to $250 a week ( with the understanding that two of the nine people in my house are grown men and eat accordingly).
The picture on the right is slightly off. My OCD is going nuts.
There is also “what’s in my fridge” on Google. You list the things you have in your fridge and Google gives you recipes based on what you have.
Good day Dr Ergin God bless you for all this wonderful information if I found you when I was just diagnosed I would not be diabetic you are a special gift from God and I speak blessings in your life and your family’s life
Love your videos ❤️ I’m in Canada and the currency conversion is on average during COVID a $1.40 to one American dollar. As an effect of the currency difference our food is more expensive than the USA. What would you recommend for Canadians per month per person? I’m trying to follow your $75 rule since we’re a family of two (soon to be three!!!) but I find it hard and I spend between $90-100 using all your tricks and extreme price matching at wal mart. Love to hear your thoughts!!
I had 2.5 cabinets and it wasn’t working so I found a 5 shelf bookshelf and moved all food into there. Opened up more space for my kitchen stuff too so it wasn’t so crammed.
Is the recommended $100 per person per month just for food, or does it include diapers, wipes, household cleaners, toiletries, etc?
last year my wife and I averaged $740 a month total for the two of us. that’s not just food but also includes cleaning products, personal hygiene products, cat litter and food for one cat, and dog food for one dog (25lbs).
I was wondering if you could do a basic pantry essentials for college students/newlyweds? When there isnt much fridge space?
I go to school out of state so I always start from 0 every semester and I always end up with too much food i throw/give away when I move back home.
Sir I need your advice that whether the food powder that I have made is a good protein? I have the powder using
50 g almonds
50 g peanuts
50 g white sesame

BUY IN BULK!! NO EXCUSES!! Find a friend who needs the stuff you need..Go to Costco..get your stuff…split the total
Hi. I think you are ignoring the importance of fat. Healthy fats. Fatty fish, pork fat, beef fat etc. is actually healthy.
I love how you do such clear breakdowns and offer great nutritional info as well as tasty and budget friendly recipes ❤️
Gluten is around 30 cents per 30 grams of protein. Buy flour 2kgs for around $1.80 which is 10% protein so 200 grams of moderately high quality protein (its a complete amino acid profile). Make seitan out of it which removes most of the carbs and leaves just the protein. boom 200grams of protein for $1.80. Im in Australia paying in AUD buying flour in 2kg lots but I saw if you buy it bulk its even cheaper
Hi sir plzz reply de dena muje plz
Me vegetarian hu high protein food batao plz
If you really. Want to bodybuilding the only thing you should spend money on is food and bills

Asian flavor profile:
Soy sauce
Chili / chili oil
Garlic, ginger, scallions
Sesame oil
Sesame paste
Ponzu
Black bean sauce
Spicy bean paste
Black vinegar
Sweet chili sauce
Fish sauce (please don’t smell it lol)
The list could go on, there are so many Asian ingredients/condiments that are life changing
Do you find that quality lacks when always buying the cheapest meat?
I loved it, gud information.. But why subscription to ur channel isn’t free?
Bhai abi GST laga hain…….abhi in chizo ka price asman chuta hain…
Too Much Fish = Mercury Poisoning
Dairy Products = Stomach Issues
Eggs = Erectile Dysfunction
Beans and lentils are fine. Anything else is questionable
Men stay away from excess soya, it’s known to contain plant estrogen which is similar to human estrogen.
I’m assuming, because you live in United States, that the $300 amount for groceries for the month is in US dollars…I’m from Canada, and our dollar in the U.S is only worth 73 cents…, so yr $300 in the US is really around $410 worth of groceries for me to buy in Canada…..So I’m thinking I would have $400 to spend monthly on groceries in order to match $300 worth in the US because of this….hope this makes sense…love yr videos
potatoes are a no no for diabetics too starchy and has tons of carbs
Sir diet plan share kariyena perfect wala…weekend ma kitni baar fish khaye chicken khaye kitni baar kya khaye…bataiyena
Love this video is there way I can measure calories without a machine. I’m a guy in Jamaica.
You mentioned how starting completely from scratch with food because of moving or other situations, well I will be moving out of parents house completely not just off to college for a semester in a year, what would you recommend the basics that should be picked up before sticking to a more strict grocery budget? If you have any recommendations, I know some staples are different per person/family.
I like That buffiness its sure not cheap.. you go girl grow that hunky donkey
I tend to stick with tons of frozen veggies, chicken, tuna, Greek yogurt, cheese and eggs for everything and potatoes. I only meal prep 4 meals at a time
No mention of sattu @ rs.76 per kilo. Best for protein supplement in diet…
I’ve been doing this shelf cooking for a year and it does save money and helps to not waste food. I have a family of 4 in a one bedroom apartment and we keep stock piled food stored in bins in a corner of our room. Eye appealing,NO having extra food you need on hand, YES. Thanks for the tips
Thank you for sharing actual budget friendly grocery tips! Most the “budget” stuff I see is still out of my range!
Sir what if i eat about 100g of soya chunks daily..???
Does it affects in any hormonal chnages..???
Hi Vivek! Can you guide me as to what combination of protein sources can we have for daily needs.
Can u give nutritional value of soya milk and can we add it to this list
Yes, first time here. No need to excuse yourself. Enjoyed every bit of the 17 minutes and 40 seconds of footage. Absolutely impressed and pleased with the content… tips, advice, recommendations and overall sharing of your knowledge which was/is educational, practical, and realistic. Exactly the type of information I was looking for and need. Both of my thumbs up high in the air. Thank you very much. Oh and… sorry… the usual male stereo typical comment “gorgeous, wow, awesome figure, whatta woman etc etc” sorry… I’m one of those… BUT thank you, I mean it, your efforts weren’t/aren’t in vain. I will be following your tips and what I learned to improve my health over all. Oh, by the way, I liked AND subscribed.
Thanks to Aldi, the internet, and my love of cooking my grocery bill hovers around $60-$80/month (its only me though). I did take a lesson from Jordan I reup on staples at the first of the month and only get groceries twice a month (COVID has helped going to stores makes my anxiety peak).
FINALLY! Just recently subscribed. So happy to see an actual nutrition video that isn’t only a personal buy video. it all helps, but this is great!
Does anyone do this on paleo meals? Family of 7 here so I can totally use some tips to cut down on groceries!
I would wither if I had to spend $50 a month on groceries. yikes!
Straight gems ! Amazing video so much info! Truly appreciate it!
I have literally been following a Jordan since I was 19 years old and she has been a life saver time and time again. 10 years later, I still learn new tips and tricks every time (even from the videos that don’t really apply to my current situation). Anyway, for digital lists I recommend Google Keep. There are tons of videos about it, you should check it out. One of my lists on Google Keep is a price comparison notebook. I prefer digital lists because I never forget it, it’s much more convenient than carrying a paper/pen, and it has a search function. I set it up to where it knows my location so it will send me a notification when I arrive at the grocery store or Costco. Now I never forget about its existence while I’m shopping and trying to figure out if something is a good deal or not.
CARBOHYDRATES are the worst thing a T2 DIABETIC can eat!!!! They ALL spike your Insulin and keep your SUGARS high!!!
I fast also. I would love to see what you eat in a week. My monthly goal is $200. I need to be honest I don’t add this to my spreadsheet.
I feel the best diet for insulin dependent diabetics is a very low carb diet. The ADA recommended diet is atrocious 60g of carbs would give me a rise of 370 mg/dl potentially, without insulin my glucose would be 460 mg/dl assuming I was in normal range. 60g of carbs gives me a need of 8U of Humalog insulin. Sometimes works ok but most times people go very high and low. Its a game of chance. This high carb diets cause the extreme hypoglycemia events endocrinologists are trying to prevent. The law of small numbers is the way to go and prevent spikes. A low carb meal less than 10g of low digesting carbs and a much smaller dose of less powerful insulin true human insulin like R will prevent hypos. You can’t go low if you don’t have enough insulin to make it happen… The body has plenty of stored starch glycogen, people do not really need carbohydrate at least not 60g a meal. Want to test that? Skip dinner and basal dose your BG would not be low, but incredibly high next morning above 250 mg/dl quite easily. It takes me 3 full days to consume 60g of carbs. My blood glucose with my small basal dose keeps me even at 85 mg/dl mostly all day. If you take basal insulin and go low before a meal you are taking too much basal. Basal insulin only function is to maintain the fasting and resting state not to lower BG, bolus insulin deals with meals and corrections similar to a healthy phase 1 insulin response. Basal is phase 2 insulin response of a small basal output enough to prevent catabolism. I urge any diabetic to take a look at Dr. Bernstein on youtube and his diabetes solutions book a guide to normal BG. Incredibly consistent method, in 5 months yet to rise above 170 mg/dl nothing lower than 55 mg/dl. Average CGM reading in last 3 months is 88 mg/dl +/12 mg/dl. A T1D of 23 years with non detectable c peptide. Diabetes does not cause complications, hyperglycemia does!!
Tuna
Sardines
Greek yogurt
Cottage cheese
Whole eggs
Beans
Lentils
Holy cow food is so cheap in USA, DISCOUNT foods are 2 to 3 times more expensive in my country and minimum wage is less than 50% of USA’s
Thanks for the video, I was really surprised that the Greek yogurt and the Tofu has comparable amounts of protein to chicken breast. Always looking for good protein options aside from meat so thank you lovely
Eating a can of tuna plain with nothing on it is not an easy task
Thank you! I’m really struggling hitting my protein and for me it’s the most important. The closer I hit that macro every day, the better I feel!

Gold gold gold gooooold. Is what’s going through my mind while watching.
Thanks man…. just discovered that we have been ripped off on food prices in my country.
We have such different lives but I love you and your tips so much lol
How long do you cook your chicken breasts for in the slow cooker? And what temperature?
Don’t know if you’re open to video ideas, but I’d love to see a video wherein you go over standard gym etiquette.
Isn’t it frustrating that you have to use stupid ounces for the container and grams for protein? When will the world acknoledge that grams and kilograms are the best weight units and give up the stupid ounces, lbs and other bulshit?
Bro.. i have never seen this simple easy..yet.. details in any videos.. thanks again bro
Good info and Man crush right there. Boom. Those tats are sick
Hi Jordan, we are also LDS and how do you do your food storage? Meaning do you purchase extras? Love your videos and wished I found it earlier. Only found you in the beginning of the year. PS I am in SA.
Everyone should join the Shelf Cooking group on FB! So much inspiration! I was committed to not spending much money this week, so I made a lot of vegetarian meals this week. I had everything for 3-4 recipes, except the meat. I’ve been following you for 8 years and I have heard half of this before, but I still ALWAYS get something new to try! Can’t wait for the book!!
When I used to rent I would use book cases as extra food storage. It was something I could take with me anywhere I moved.
My problem is a1c. New med on market my doctor prescribed Rybelsus. My metformin no longer working. 1200 calorie diet. Poultry, chicken, veggies, fruit.,almonds reduce a1c I body build. Also tofu is good. Looking at recipes for tofu. No carbs for me metastasize into surgar.
Do you rephrase the chicken after you cook it or do you just leave it and the frigerator for the whole week I’m just curious because I did not know that it would stay good for that long but if it will then thou would definitely help me with my meal prepping
awesome vid man, more like these. a video on meal prep ideas for a weeks worth of food would be good. (sorry if youve already done one on that)
Loved this video I am needing to add more protein to my diet and most meats dont taste as good as they used to so thank you for the other suggestions!

Qué gracioso! En Venezuela una lata de atún cuesta 2000 Bs, el cartón de huevos 2300 y el yogur griego 2900 Bs. #québaraaato
$75 a week for a couple living in a very high cost of living area is still kind of tight but I can see where we could trim our grocery list.
I bought $230 worth of food last week, and didn’t “have” anything to eat for dinner. I debated ordering out, but instead found Supercook. I plugged in a 15 ingredients that I had readily available. Supercook found me 79 different recipes using those 15 ingredients! That was so helpful!
Great video, thank you!
Just not Tuna! It has a lot of protein but it has nothing to do with a big magestic tuna we usually imagine. Why do you think it’s so cheap? They are highly contaminated and very unhealthy.
We are in the process of moving across the country( Hawaii to Georgia ) cant wait to be able to put you great tips to work now that I can get a pineapple for less than $7 LOL! But first have to stock a brand new kitchen! Got any tips for that???? love your vids. Thank you!
Also I just love the Sam’s Club App Scan “n” Go is the best!!!
Where I live things are priced pretty well but $300 as a minimum budget is insane! Our’s is $150 for 2 people and 3 cats (and yes I include their food). Even $100 per person is a bit extravagant to me. For rookies really.
We are a family of 4 in a 900 sq foot house. We’re wall to wall. So what I have done is get a few Rubbermaid containers with lids and store our food in them and stack them up.
What about tofu? Thank you for the wideo. I forgot about sardyne❤️
$2 for 18 eggs!!! ffff England is damn expensive you can’t get 4 for that
Thanks for the ideas, keep the videos coming. You’re keeping me from losing weight:)
The narrow picture with so much black space on either side is very distracting to me.
I found this very very helpful. He was clear, kind, and did not make me scared. Thank you.
The problem with egg whites, is the wastage of yolks. They are also high in cholesterol and saturated fat so it’s not really convenient.:/ unfortunately.
I’ve been trying to include egg whites in my diet but the wastage of yolks and use if eggs and the constant need of buying eggs and going to the grocery store my parents find this unacceptable. So really the only option for me is to eat only one egg. Two eggs would be high in saturated fat and cholesterol..
Obviously Doctor, you are not an advocate of a low carb diet for the diabetic. Do you think that it is too hard to adhere to?
you are such a darling doctor. you are helping so many diabetics educating. true the basics are information and true understanding of the diabetes. I bet 90% of the patients are just taken for granted and just follow the Drs orders.
If and when they have the knowledge most of them will feel in control of the diabetes a nd will lead a better quality of life.
THANKYOU for your wonderful Service DR.
Thank you Doc. for sharing this very informative video you explained it well.God bless
We have a large family (me, my wife and 5 teens… plus their friends) so we cook a LOT. We’ve pretty much given up the slow cooker in favor of the electric pressure cooker, same outcome in 1/10th the time.
But for the lean meats, I still prefer the stovetop. We all like the following, and it only takes about half an hour:
Sauté onion/garlic first, then throw in the meat and brown with a lil’ salt/pepper/paprika (cut up or ground turkey/chicken or both), then add equal parts low-sodium chicken stock and drinkable white wine, then turn the heat up and boil down until almost no liquid left (really drives the flavor into the meat, and comes out really tender).
This works for one pound of meat or ten pounds, which is good when there’s a dozen hungry teens waiting in the kitchen for dinner!
Let me know if anyone try’s it and likes it.
Hello doc,
Great talk. What about persons who has type 2 diabetes for over twenty years. I have found that with the help of my endocrinologist I have had to adjust my diet through the years. I believe this is the hard part because everyone’s diabetes is different.
I spend 200 a month for 3 adults and I make wonderful meals every day!
I am on glymeperide 4 mg and atorvastatin 20 grams I need this out of my body I need your help. I was on metformin and I took myself off it because of the way I feel (side effects) so my doctor put me on these now
$2 for 18 eggs… in europe you’d pay €5-6 (around $7) for them xD

Which one is important Dr.? Glycemic Index Vs Glycemic Load? Would you please explain it more… Thanks.
I use your method of shelf cooking but we also eat low carb and no sugar if possible I meal plan what I want to make I plan out 5-7 meals and we go shopping and it normally last us 2 or more weeks so we end up going shopping 2 times a month one big time and a smaller time for just the extras and stay in budget
Lockdown me jo hai usme protein dhund rahe hai. Achha list banaya hai.. Jo available rahega wo le lenge.
I did something simpler to set my budget. I kept track of all my grocery expenses for a few months without trying to stick to a certain dollar amount. I then find the average for that period. For me, that’s $250/ month. I plan all my meals for each week and then try to do all the prep and cooking on one of my days off, dividing all the portions so it will last me all week.
What do you think about mct oil? Been taking it in our coffee with whipped heavy cream.
Also considering stopping with mct…but concerned about getting weight back on. Can I do keto stay under the 20g carbs and maintain.
Thanks
