I might do this but since I have no friends or embarrassed to ask someone to time me. You can count to 100-120 jump ropes as that will be about 1 minute depending on your shape/energy. I am not sure how many I can do in 60 seconds myself yet either. I lost weight, 173.8 to 166.8 but that was me doing my own shit and workout routine. I am simply thinking about purchasing a Jump Rope to add to my workout routine but must be committed to doing a jump rope workout in the morning before eating my Oatmeal. And I lost 7 pounds in 3 weeks if anyone is wondering. So yeah, I think it time to add a jump rope workout into my routine.

Edit: I’ve improved over 2 weeks of Jump roping everyday, decided to change to 30 Minute workout with 1 min rest every 5 minutes. My form and skills and speed has improved drastically, and am probably 2x faster and more efficient

Thanks for your video. I don’t know any fancy jumping tricks either, but at 65 years old that’s okay with me. I usually go to the nearest school yard where there’s a basketball court very early in the morning. I jump 100 to 200x then toss 10 baskets and return to the rope. I repeat this until I’ve jumped 1000x!! I really like jumping because it quickly tones the entire body and builds the stamina almost literally overnight. There’s a reason Muhammad Ali used a jump rope to train.

Love this one! I’m new to jumping(got my Get Lean set 2 weeks ago), and was able to complete all 5 sets, although much slower so that I didn’t trip up too much. Even with the slower pace on the jumping, I was completely drenched at the end! I really love these 30min follow-alongs…can’t wait to try more!

I know some people love to do crossovers, double unders, single leg hops, etc..But I’ve had great success just keeping it simple.
I’ll do normal single unders at a fast pace (250 per min) for 4 min, rest a min, and repeat as many rounds as I can until I tap out.
I’ve never cared about being a jump rope master or doing cool tricks/routines. Only concerns are calorie burn and building endurance.

Im 48 and Im doing exercises since 18 years old, I always had the problem of having visible fat around my waist (eating almost everything no diet) and chest, On 2012 I started with the rope and everything change, I do 5 straight minutes rest 2 minutes and start doing 5 more minutes resting whenever i want, Today I will do 10 straight minutes and complete 20 minutes resting whenever I want (When I started my first time I can’t even do 2 straight minutes. (Today with 48 and almost no diet My weight is 168 pounds and im 5’11) Recommend Nopalina, Green tea and a real clean Protein low in carb and or sugars)

I have started skipping. My feet absolutely kill when I skip! When I first started, my feet were sore for days. I can skip now but I only feel pain on the ball of my feet and I have to take breaks but no pain afterwards. Is it due to the wrong footwear? Any suggestions on the best trainers for skipping?

I loved it. Sweating like a pig. I skipped three jumping sessions but finished the rest.
I started at 6minutes at my first day. It’s my 5th day now and today I did 12minutes+ already. I’m steadily increasing my time day by day. My goal is to at least reach 25minutes in 30 days. I’m also doing 10minutes of cardio and 10minutes of belly fat trimming excercises from an app. I do the excercises in around 11-13 minutes. I do the skipping ropes in the morning and the cardio and excercises around 5-6pm.
Finished all the way through but needed a couple longer breaks in between

This one is crazy.. Specially the star jump.. It’s similar to burpees.. I did the 500 calorie work out and that’s something I can keep up with. 45 days and counting. By the time quarantine ends I might be able to take this high intensity one up..

Jumping rope is a great exercise. Please make sure that your foot placement is correct. Improper foot placement can damage the cuboid bone in your feet.

I don’t understand why he needs time to rest, on the gym where I train MMA we start all days with a 5 min nonstop jump rope at a similar or higher speed.

Day2: Killed me Sore calf muscles.

I burned about 430 ish calories with my height and weight. During each jumping segment I made sure I hit 65 everytime, next time I’ll shoot for 75! You’d have a better cadence for your skipping if you rotate your wrist more. Seems like you use your arms a bunch. I’m definitely going to add mountain climbers to my skipping routine though.

Thanks for the video. Love the air squats and mummy kicks. Will try though still trying to master double unders. I’m 64 and all I can say is that there’s a reason Muhammad Ali regularly used a jump rope in his training regimen. I’ve found that it’s the fastest way to build stamina and burn calories while barely feeling like you’re working out. I usually go the neighborhood b-ball court, aim to make 10 baskets, jump 100x and repeat 10x total. That’s my fave workout-3 -4x/week.
