This lemon-cumin-cayenne spiced take on traditional tabouli recipe uses quinoa instead of bulgur wheat. Because there’s protein-rich chicken and quinoa, as well as veggies and healthy monounsaturated fats from olive oil, this is a complete meal in one bowl. Adding a cayenne kick to a meal can actually help you feel more satisfied afterwards.Finely chop the parsley, spring onions and tomatoes and place them into your separate large salad bowl. Juice all the fresh lemons and pour it over the salad mixture.
Add olive oil, black pepper and salt in the salad mixture. Mix well. Place over the cool bourghul and mix well.
Serve. Refrigerate.Tabouli salad or Tabbouleh is a simple Mediterranean salad of very finely chopped vegetables, lots of fresh parsley and bulgur wheat, all tossed with lime juice and olive oil. Grab my tips and watch the video for how to make tabouli below.
Tabouli is likely the topmost famed Mediterranean/Middle Eastern salad.Without further ado, my take on tabbouleh salad! This recipe is so easy, requiring just 6 ingredients, 10 minutes, and 1 bowl to make. The base is fresh, chopped parsley, red bell pepper, and red onion. I love eating parsley because it’s so healthy for you (hello, antioxidants) and great at detoxifying the body (especially when you throw in.
Tabbouleh salad is one of the most recognizable Middle Eastern dishes. It is very simple, made out of very finely chopped parsley, tomatoes, onions, and bulgur wheat mixed with pomegranate molasses, lemon juice and olive oil. There many different recipes, but this is the one that I grew up with.Tabbouleh (Arabic: تبولة tabūla; also tabouleh, tabbouli, tabouli, or taboulah) is a Levantine vegetarian salad made mostly of finely chopped parsley, with tomatoes, mint, onion, bulgur.
Add chopped mint and thinly sliced green onion to bowl and season with ½ tsp. salt. Add 2 Tbsp. olive oil and stir. In a small bowl, add the chickpeas, cucumber and cherry tomato. Season with salt (¼ tsp.), stir, and add to the large bowl with chopped parsley, mint, and green onion.Garbonzo bean salad with the flavors of tabouli salad.
Make this fresh Tabouli Chick Pea Salad Recipe for a super healthy side dish or main course. Garbanzo bean salad with the flavors of tabouli salad are blended to make this fantastic protein-packed vegan salad.A handful of chopped parsley A small handful of chopped mint Juice of 1 lemon a splash of olive oil a sprinkling of Celtic sea salt (not too much salt!!) a generous serving of freshly ground black pepper.Quinoa, once a staple grain of ancient Incas, is tossed with lemon juice, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, green onions and parsley. Serve with pita bread.
The salad is known under different names with slight ingredient variations throughout the Middle East. When Jews began making aliyah to Israel in the late 1800′s, coban salatsi from Israel’s Turkish neighbors became popular on the kibbutzim (communal agricultural collectives) because of the simple, easy-to-grow ingredients– cucumbers. This traditional Lebanese Tabbouleh (or tabouli) Salad is a healthy vegan Mediterranean appetizer made with bulgur, parsley, mint and chopped vegetables.
Easy to make with just a handful of ingredients, this fresh salad is a real treat for the tastebuds! You say tabouli salad, I say tabbouleh salad.Tabbouleh – the English spelling is tabouli – is an Eastern Mediterranean dish traditionally composed of chopped tomatoes, parsley, mint, onion, bulgur wheat, lemon and olive oil.
It is much heavier on the green herbs than this version.Moroccan Spiced Beef with Quinoa Tabbouleh Directions: In a medium bowl, combine ginger, cumin, chili powder, pepper, cinnamon, salt and olive oil. In a resealable bag, add steak and marinade mixture. Marinate minimum 2 hours or overnight. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, mix quinoa, parsley, cucumber, onion, mint and lemon juice.
The Spruce. While the bulgar sits, whirl the olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic in a blender (or, pulse the garlic in a food processor until minced, then add the olive oil and lemon juice and whirl into a dressing-like consistency). The Spruce.
Add the mint leaves, the remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt, and the pepper.

I swear to god if there is dumbasses in this comment section who think that the israelis stole this from arabs i will execute myself
Lived in Lebanon for many years, never heard the elders used green onions in tabouli, your’re making it the wrong way
It’s not Israeli. It’s shirazi salad stop copying other people cultures
Amazing video, explained everything so easily. New sub here!
It’s great to see a neat, clean, organized person preparing this healthy and inexpensive standby (as opposed to the pathetic attention-hungry slobs in some of the other videos).
Like most traditional recipes it’s very flexible, but I wonder why he added a red onion when the standard calls for scallions?
WHAT ISRAELI? From Wiki: “The origins of the Israeli salad are traced by Gil Hovav, Israeli food editor and chef, to a Palestinian Arab salad. He states that, “this salad that we call an Israeli Salad, actually it’s an Arab salad, Palestinian salad….”
When your country has no culture so you make up A CLASSIC SALAD THAT EVERY PERSON IN THE WORLD DOES and name it ISRAELI SALAD♀️♀️♀️
My absolute favorite, with garlic sauce and naan bread. Ohhhh my so wonderful. Perhaps humans as well.
A Salad is a salad is a salad… that gives the idiots something to argue about

I’ve been making this salad for years now. Funny, I wasn’t even aware it was called Israeli Salad…
Thanks for the info!
If you wanna steal Palestinian cuisine, you might as well do it right.
Arabs can complain about Israelis culturally “appropriating their food” when they stop being Muslim or Christian which are, ya know, cultural appropriation of Judaism.
Thank you so much for the recipe and yes it came out really well. Thank you very much.
Oh you guys r so good… precision and cinematography is also amazing!!! God bless……
Thank uuuu
Very nice, similar to taboulleh which is made with bulgur. I usually make taboulleh with quinoa instead of bulgur to avoid the starch and increase the protein. WIll try this recipe with both cous cous and quinoa. My cous cous recipe is to serve cold, with chopped almonds, pimento, raisins. Makes a very nice match to eat with fish, poultry, etc.
Just looking at this salad makes me feel cool and comfortable! I bet it tastes good, too!
That looks good. I will steal the recipe. Replace the parsley with cilantro and throw in a diced serrano chile… Wait a second, that’s salsa!
Chopping up all two batches of parsley was a work out! But turned out to be delicious! I did cheat and added a table spoon of pomegranate syrup:)
بابا این سالاد شیرازی خودمونه که خاک تو سرت اسرائیل.
This is Irans Salad Shirazi
Wow.. congrats on K..the recipe is very refreshing perfect for these hot summers..
Have tried your recipe a few times & it turns out always good. Just one query though, what kind of pomegranate juice do u use in your tabouleh? Is it fresh juice, is it like the one in long life boxes? I would really like to know so next time I can use it. Thank you for all your videos. I have tried Baba ganouj recipe too.
Gefilte Fish is a Jewish creation.
This is the Egyptian “Salata Balady” -country salad.
Lol stop taking other people culture and food this is Morocco salad
Now I know the name and the recipe of this famous Lebanese Salad. Thanks for sharing
its mediterranean or middle eastern. Israel was established in the 40s this salad has been there for centuries
I am quite suprised left-extremist pro-Antifa Haaretz advertises for Israeli food the food of the assertive “oppressors”.
I like israeli salad… but would add cilantro instead of parsley
it is shirazi salad.hahahaسالاد شیرازی رو دزدیدن نوشتن سالاد اسرائیلی
The only thing the arabs invented, no wait they havent invented anything for 1500 hundred years when they peaked and haven’t invented anything since.
Stop stealing palestinian food & talk about israeli occupation instead…this is Arab palestinian salad
I see what the Israelis did here three shades of red to symbolize the spilled Palestinian blood, nice.
Being the tomato lover that I am, I would NEVER remove the seeds from the tomatoes, that’s a sin!
I make a DELICIOUS tomato, English cucumber, avocado, juice from fresh squeezed lemons, olive oil, salt and pepper. By removing the seeds from the tomatoes you’re eliminating the delicious juice produced by this salad. I love using a nice slice of a crusty loaf of bread to sop this amazingly delicious juice.
I’ll just stick with my version of tomato salad, I can’t imagine a better one!
nice video… authentic recipe.. i missed the part where you chop and or slice the tomatoes and cucumber.. that’s where the trick is i think
Oh. My. Gosh!! It’s salad! Fresh ingredients. Great taste. What’s not to like? Who CARES who put it together first? No one of you squeezed out the first cucumber seed! Enjoy for the sake of the food, for goodness sake.
Greek salad is better than Israeli salad, Italian salad (bistro salad leaves or baby salad spinahc leaves or mixed bag salad with beetroot shavings) mozarella slices, parma ham, avocado, tomatoes with balsmaic vinegar and oliver oil and sald and pepper is the best salad.
No wonder no one has watched the stupid thing in two years. Why would anyone interpose herself between the viewer and the subject of the video? And who cares where she lives or where she buys her groceries? (The woman clearly never heard the saying “Me, me, me is a bore, bore, bore.”) The stretched-out pacing shows even more pathetic egoism. Take it from someone who lives in Brooklyn: Israelis do not waste time!
NOT an “israeli” NOR is it a Jewish salad!Stop stealing Arab heritage! Shame on you.”.oh but you have no shame!
Great!
Inlike how u so nature.
With camera.
Even when u drop .
Or the tongue twist!! Hehe.
Natural beatuiful woman.!!
Blessings. Ur cool gal!!!
Thank you for this.
So happy to see it prepared this way. In Europe I see Tabbouleh salads at the supermarket and in online recipes which look like 90% bulgur. Hard too find anything green in there.
it seems like all the middle eastern people plus Greece all have variations of olive oil/lemon juice salads with tomatoes and cukes….and I agree, I never waste any of my tomatoes…..love this way of eating….
This not how the couscous cooked you can check the algerian couscous
The Shirazi salad was annexed during the six day war, hence the new name.
Flames ignited.
NO this is not originally an israeli sallad… This is called salade shirazi and is from shiraz in iran.
If you’re stealing Falafel and Hummus, might as well steal some salad.
Gefilte Fish is a Jewish creation.
This is the Egyptian “Salata Balady” -country salad.
There are always people jostling to say it does not belong to Israel. ”For those of you who aren’t familiar with Israeli Salad, here’s a little background. It evolved from a Turkish salad known as shepherd’s salad – coban salatsi, which is closely related to a Persian salad known as salad shirazi, named for the ancient city of Shiraz. The salad is known under different names with slight ingredient variations throughout the Middle East. When Jews began making aliyah to Israel in the late 1800′s, coban salatsi from Israel’s Turkish neighbors became popular on the kibbutzim (communal agricultural collectives) because of the simple, easy-to-grow ingredients– cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and parsley. Over time, ingredients were added or taken away, but the basic components remained the same: cucumbers and tomatoes dressed in olive oil, lemon juice, and salt. The vegetables are always diced; the size of the pieces varies depending on personal preference. Some cooks prefer to dice the vegetables very small, a practice that started in the Ottoman Empire. Other cooks prefer a more chunky texture. I like it both ways.” Tori Avey
There are some seriously pathetic humans out there. Ooh. I know. Let’s just call it Blarg. IT’S A SALAD
Surprised that she did not claim the Persian cucumbers as Israeli cucumbers, and Italian parsley as Israeli too! But that is a Palestinian or even an Arab salad, definitely NOT Israeli salad, y’all!
This looks great and I’m definitely going to try it. Thanks. It looks a little like the Italian…I forget what they call it, but it seems to have most of the same ingredients..
my dumbass for real tought i needed to fry it anyways thank you for showing me how to do it!! i’m trying to diet and this just looks amazing!!✊✊
JESUS IS AN ALLEGORY NOT A LITERAL PERSON BIBLICAL MORALS ARE CORRECT

Sorry Juliet. I lost interest in this about 2 minutes in. Not a great attempt. Keep trying though.
