Still, these benefits are not fully.Stevia leaves have up to 150 times the sweetness of sugar and the extract can be 300 times sweeter than sugar (compared to Splenda, which is 600 times sweeter than sugar). 1 Adding to its appeal is the fact that stevia products (that are not combined with other sweeteners) contain no calories.
The taste of stevia varies from person to person.Stevia, or rather stevia extract, is a popular plant-based sweetener with almost no calories. It doesn’t have a chemical structure like artificial non-nutritive sweeteners, nor sugar alcohols so.Replacing sugar with low-calorie sweeteners, such as aspartame, stevia, and sucralose, is one way people attempt to solve this conundrum, but some studies suggest that they might not be better.
People given an aspartame or stevia snack (zero added calories) consumed less calories throughout the day than did people given a sugar snack. In other words, stevia and aspartame didn’t cause people to compensate for the calorie deficit. They still ate less.Stevia is a sweetener extracted from the leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant, which is native to some parts of South America.

Why does anything need to be sweet? Coffee with milk, no sweetener, is perfect.
i just start use stevia and its good but I don’t like sweet things
I HAVE HAD CANDIDA IN.THE PAST. WHICH ONES DO I AVOID FOR FUTURE REFERENCE PLEASE?
could you do the same type of video for xylit and erythrit as a sugar substitute?:)
I am 20 years old. I weight 113 kg. Could there be any possibility that I would lose weight without loss-weight skin??? Please I need help.
I find stevia to have a bitter taste and it makes me bloated.:(
im from Venezuela south america and i’ve been using stevia for about 2 years. for me have been great no side effects of any kind. my period is regular and my reproductive system is ok. I didnt find anything that proof that theory.
Finally someone answers this question! Most articles don’t address Truvia at all. Thank you for the information!
since I started using stevia I lost my period (my hormons are functioning great btw)
Hi, so which is the best product “stevia” which does not contain dextrin?, thanks in advance
“Negative benefits” is an oxymoron. Perhaps “negative effects” would make more sense.
I hate the ‘diet” aftertaste of stevia. I would rather not have a sweetener at all. Can you do a monk fruit vs. Stevia taste video please? Love all of your videos Darius. THANK YOU
I’m not drinking this no more don’t want nothing f**** with my dick I love to have sex too much I’m The Ladies Man
But what about thier impact long term? How would stevia or eritheatol impact kidneya or liver in the long run, especially for a diebetic?
Hello All,
Myself Kiran Kumar working for Steviaworld.com if you are interested in growing stevia please contact [email protected] steviaworld.com 8892632742.
We buy back at Rs. 120 per kg.
Thank you
Pardon my sarcasm but this video made me wonder if they were going to say “Taking Stevia MIGHT cause a shortage in red coloured postage stamps”.
The world doesn´t hear enough about the dangers of the poisonous sweetener Aspartame.
Stevia with milk coffee or tea so bitter after taste isn’t affecting me.
Monk fruit and coconut sugar for cooking or dessert or Asian sweet soup. Usually anything that requires higher heat or cook for a certain time.
Honey with water during sore throat or flu. It just taste the best if I can only mix it with water. Room temperature water. Also should not let the honey water sit for too long. Try to finish it within a few hours of making.
Raw sugar crystals use lime to make. Stevia does not. I have used it in my coffee and tea and cereal for 15 years now. It keeps my blood pressure low so no need for drugs to that. It also keeps me from gaining weight. I use it in cakes and cookies. It is healthy and you only need a micro bit to sweeten anything. It is very very sweet. It takes 300 times the sugar to sweeten as much as one tsp of Stevia. You may not like the taste but you get used to it. Americans use way too much sugar and that is one of the reasons they are overweight. It is best when least processed.
what are your feelings about splenda and raw natural brown sugar? We tried Stevia for our family but could not get over the weird after taste. Any suggestions to overcome that?
If Japan produces stevia, I would say like arigato gojai mass… Produce
Molasses is better alternative…..but natural sugar is brown..
I’m glad you did this video. Stevia is just a sweetner you have to watch the ingredients. Dextrose and maltodextrin are those hidden ones it’s mixed with. I just avoid stevia for the most part or just get organic liquid.
I just noticed my Stevia has maltodextrin in it…What do you suggest?
Natural Stevia straight from the plant is the best way to go. No processing and no bureaucratic bs. Japan has been using Stevia in their sodas for years. The US government banned stevia because of purely political reasons. So stupid.
Be sure not to buy stevia that has maltodextrine or dextrose in it. I just heard about this on Dr. Becky Gillaspys video on stevia.
The worst ingredient you mentioned is ‘natural flavors”. There are 6,000 of them and they are not made in the US they are sent here from Europe. Even the FDA has no idea what is in natural flavors, they are not governed by any U.S. agency. And many of them are terribly dangerous to your body, just because something kills you slowly doesn’t mean it’s not killing you. Benzine or benzoate is in every bread in any store in America. It is also a flame retardant. azodicarbonamide is in 500 foods, including healthy ‘natural’ foods..it is also used to make yoga mats..the FDA actually approves of this one in small doses..I know you mean well, but check your stuff. Truvia does not break down well and is dangerous. in And as it turns out even though proper form Stevia is way better, doesn’t make your insulin spike (truvia might), the chemical compounds used to get the stevia out of the plant may be be very toxic…I am putting up a huge site about natural flavors, it’s frightening..cheers
Thank you for your video! It was very helpful. Still researching about Monk fruit just to make sure what brand is better to consume.
All artificial sweeteners clog the digestive tract and cause constipation. They stick to the lining of the gut when the body attempts to absorb their small molecules.
This video was absolutely useless. Even tells you to do your research on it when that’s the reason you’re here in the first place.
I use whole dehydrated and crumbled leaves of stevia. It annoys me that people use the name of the plant to describe a man made commercially concentrated and marketed substance. They are not the same!!!!!!
not sure about erythritol but Xylotol =about 4 poops per tsp, not good stuff!
people you have to understand…its about comparing baddddd thing like (sugar) with less badd (stevia) dont expect toooo much while searching for things…even breathing more than normal people is abnormal so please stop crying lol we live in an imperfect world…deal wid it haha
Incredibly helpful Dr mona I’ve heard of half of what you’ve mentioned I’m trying to be healthy and lose weight but the sugar cravings get the better of me. These suggestions I will be definitely trying. Changing diet and replacing these alternative would help in weight loss too? Xxx
SO,, what you’re saying is, that if it’s good, it’s use must be discouraged!
Hi Thomas. I love your work! May I ask you a question, please? My brother and sister in law told me that stevia causes infertility in women. As a stevia lover, I’m hoping this isn’t true. I haven’t found much evidence to support their claim, however, i’m concerned that the liquid stevia i consume daily is going to do more harm than good. What do you know about this?
I AM DANA AND I USE STAVIA… SINCE I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE WOULD BE ALRIGHT… I AM DIABETIC LOWER SUGAR CONTENT WOULD ALRIGHT…BUT I HEARD ON THIS VIDEO IS CHEAPER… SPLENDA WITH STAVIA IS TWICE AS EXPENSIVE IN THE GROCERY STORE WHICH IS CALLED HYVEE IN IOWA AND MISSOURI.. STAVIA MADE BY HYVEE IS TWICE AS EXPENSIVE AS THE OTHER ARTIFICIAL SWEETNERS…
I WISH THEY OFFERED COUPONS TO GET STAVIS CHEAPER IN GROCERY STORES IN THE MIDWEST… I GO TO THE DOCTOR TWICE A YEAR AND EVERYTHING IS MONITORED, HEART AND KIDNEYS AND ALL OTHER TESTS ON A EXTENDED BLOOD TEST…STAVIA TASTEWS GOOD BUT I HEAR HORRIBLE THINGS ABOUT THE OTHER ARTIFICIAL SWEETNERS…. COUPONS WOULD GREAT AND PROBABVLY WOULD BUY MORE STAVIA AT A TIME, BUT NOT AT TWICE THE COST AS OTHER SWEETNERS… DANA FROM OTTUMWA, IOWA
One packet won’t kill you..Truvia taste better..if you eat less calories can you still loose weight?
1200 for me seems like a lot especially with fat and Im sick of cheese and meat..but I end up loosing more if I stick with my macros and eat close to 1200 calories.
If I eat 300 calories or less than that I end up gaining weight.. all of it is a very delicate balance.
I use stevia all the time. I drink stevia pop everyday. STEVIA ROCKS
The problem is the taste. It doesn’t taste like sugar and leaves a rather strange aftertaste.
Have you heard of Fuxion health beverages? Fuxion Biotech is based out of Peru and their healthy beverages use true extracted Stevia in all of their health beverages and their products are also available in the U.S and 16 other countries. Nice video Thomas!
I use this erythritol-Stevia liquid from Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Liquid-No-Calorie-Stevia-Sweetener-1-68-fl-oz/42279263
No dextrose with maltodextrin like the powder.
I hate stevia it tastes really nasty and I hate the after taste of it
I don’t quite care for the taste of straight up stevia, and so it’s not my favorite sugar substitute though I will use it from time to time.
My favorite sugar substitute is actually xylitol (a sugar alcohol), but only if it is sources from natural hardwood and not corn (which is a potential for GMO tainted xylitol). It tastes and measures just like sugar (with a slight cooling sensation when tried plain), and so works great with sweetening beverages without the guess work. I have yet to try it in baking, though, so I can’t really speak to that.
Oh, and xylitol is digested independent of insulin and has zero impact on one’s glycemic index. That’s pretty wonderful! That being said, though, some people are sensitive to sugar alcohols (like xylitol and erythritol) and they can lead to such unpleasantries as cramping and diarrhea. You just have to use common sense, experiment around, and do whatever works for you.
hi doc can you do a vid on salt? thats my problem. thank you love watching your informative vids.
I use Stevia. What about natural monk fruit sweetener?I use monk fruit sweetener, stevia and agave.
you said stevia is FDA approved although FDA say: FDA has not permitted the use of whole-leaf Stevia or crude Stevia extracts because these substances have not been approved for use as a food additive. FDA does not consider their use in food to be GRAS in light of reports in the literature that raise concerns about the use of these substances.
My personal experience of consuming stevia is not good especially if you are a woman as it causes your menstrual cycle to stop. After doing research online I found out that it is used as a contraceptive in third world countries. Google stevia and missing periods and you will know what I am talking about. Please don’t use it!! Hope this helps
SPLENDA® is also the brand name for the ingredient sucralose. It is made through a patented, multi-step process that starts with sugar and converts it to a no calorie, non-carbohydrate sweetener. The process selectively replaces three hydrogen-oxygen groups on the sugar molecule with three chlorine atoms. Chlorine is a natural part of salt, which is found in many foods, like lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, melons, and peanut butter, and chlorine is added to most public water supplies. Chlorine is also a part of more complex molecules found in such things as lentils, peas, and potatoes. It is a part of daily life. In the case of sucralose, its addition converts sucrose to sucralose, which is essentially inert. The result is an exceptionally stable sweetener that tastes like sugar, but without sugar’s calories. Sucralose isn’t broken down for energy, and is not recognized by the body as a carbohydrate.
The calorie and carbohydrate content for SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Packets and Granulated is as follows:
SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated
1 teaspoon = 0.5 gm carbohydrate = 2 calories
*1 teaspoon has the sweetness of 1 teaspoon of sugar
SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Packet
1 packet 9 gm of carbohydrate = 4 calories
*1 packet has the sweetness of 2 teaspoons of sugar
Per U.S. labeling laws, anything with less than 5 calories per serving, is properly labeled as “zero” or no-calorie.
The calories and carbohydrates in SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener come from dextrose and/or maltodextrin, which are added for bulk. Sucralose, the sweetening ingredient in all SPLENDA® Sweetener Products, has no calories and is not a carbohydrate.
I’d have to pour like 6 tbsp of suger to get the sweetness from 3 tiny packs of sweetener. Sugar is way more likely to cause weight gain than sweetener. Plus I think getting diabetes from sugar is WAY more likely than cancer from sweeteners….
Hey love your videos:)
Can you please do a video for which tea type is healthier??:)
My nutrition class taught me that most sugars are relatively the same. Don’t over consume sugar alcohols and avoid added sugars. Sugar 101 done!
the issue with stevia is that, no matter how you process it, you can’t eliminate the horrible after-taste. personally i need to get used to stevia. reason is that everytine i had my juice or tea with a drop of stevia, i would choke and start coughing my lungs out.
I thought this was a Dr Berg video at first glance because you were wearing a shirt.
Natural is always better. At least your body recognizes what it is but limit your added sugar in products to a minimum while getting your natural sugar from an also natural source like fruits and vegetables in moderation.
Neither of them are good for you but sugar is the worst thing u can put in ur body
So now let’s talk about how sugar increases your chances of heart disease…
I need to try these, specialty my mom ☺️ she’s diabetic, so some these alternatives would be good for her, I think ☺️
Fertility??? I was expecting you to talk about fertility. Stevia apparently can shrink your balls
Will stevia kick you out of IF? And is there a difference between stevia powder and stevia drops?
Greetings from Fiji. Thanks for the info. Just bought a stevia plant. Very interesting. Vinaka.
You’re awesome! Today I uploaded video how sugar kills people. I think it’s intresting.
okay this seems more about the processed stevia not the organic plant form of stevia.
A lot of people can not tolerate stevia which causes bloating, cramping and gas
I put 1 packet of Truvia in my coffee and top it off with a little bit of honey to add taste
You didn’t mention what the “natural flavors” is in truvia. Maybe it was truvial.
I dont have digestive issues with truvia. Is it ok in my tea during IF?
Thomas, may I suggest this video by UCSF panel on stevia, which mentions that Stevia (rep a) causes insulin spikes, just as glucose does. https://youtu.be/XM0vyUUvO9E ( 39:20): “increased blood sugar and increased insulin resistance and is dangerous to diabetics” Not suitable for keto!!!
Why was there a SPLENDA product pictured compared to truvia?
I used stevia for long time And I had read before about it messing up your period and things like that, even cause infertility and didn’t believe. I started to have stomachache and stopped stevia from my morning coffee, i got my period again, only one week and half after the last period. Then it gave me gastrites and also o believe it messed up my period, I can’t say anything about infertility for I’m not trying to get pregnant. Just be careful.
OK. Just tell me if it will give me intestinal problems like Sucralose does.
There is holistic and unprocessed ‘raw’ honey. It doesn’t look anything like the liquid honey you buy in most grocery stores. It’s not as sweet nor has most of the nutrients been extracted during the refining process.
I was about to thank you for getting straight to the point and for once not trying to sell me something, and then there it was at the end.
Honey isn’t bad for us l been using it with my coffee and tea and i am healthy and feeling light
Tom, I’m still waiting for your answer concerning stevia syrup, How do you remove the bitter taste naturally?
All I gotta say is stevia sweetened soft drinks, even if they still have a good amount of sugar just doesn’t taste right. Its almost as if it takes the ‘fun’ out of soft drinks giving it like an odd/off or bland sort of sweetened taste, and it is certainly not a mental thing.
I hadn’t had sprite in probably over a year and after drinking one the other week for the first time, I could immediately tell something wasn’t right and that something had definitely changed in the formula giving it a sort of flat, bland sweetened taste. I immediately turned the bottle around and read that it was now sweetened with sugar AND stevia. I was so dissapointed as it was probably going to be the last time I would be drinking sprite.
I know I know, first world problems. But still.. people have always known and expected that when your drink soft drinks that they are obviously not healthy and not good for you. Why they purposely had to change the formula just to save on that little sugar is beyond me and such a terrible decision!
commercial honey is not very good because they feed bees sugary syrup but real honey is very very healthy i recommend manoca honey certified
Truvia contains “Natural Flavors”
Pure Stevia is the clear choice here.
Look for pure Stevia because nowadays everything with Stevia is combined with CRAP and tainted.
Even the label will say Stevia when it is not pure.
what about pure maple syrup? not aunt gemima lol. 100% pure.
I’m 12 and I only use stevia and I feel great I use it in my oatmeal and everything
You can easily get a stevia plant and boil the leaves in water, let it cool and use it as sweetner, can’t be any more natural than that!!
Please don’t fear monger against sugar like all the syrup options you included are still sugar nonetheless with almost negligible amounts of nutrients or antioxidants that you probably shouldn’t rely on sugar as a source for. They are ALL processed so instead of buying some $20 coconut nectar, you’re probably better off buying $5 sugar in the raw and some greens to get like actual amounts of nutrients. As for chemical sweeteners, all reliable studies show that they’re only harmful in exorbitant doses that are practically impossible to meet eating normally, they’re still not healthy but it’s not healthy either to be scared of cane sugar and Diet Coke.
Thank you for making these videos! I’ve done my own research, but hearing it from a professional is a good cushion of reassurance!
I just bought Walmart’s Great Value Stevia, only to see on the label it’s a version of Truvia; it has erythritol and dextrose in it. Does not taste sweeter than table sucrose to me.
however table sugar has 50% frucktose wich is like the worst kind of sugar for humans while glugose sugar goes all around your body to muscles and so on frucktose goes only to liver and that liver fills fast and then comes health proplems like fatty liver weight in stomach area and those lead to other proplems
you mentioned Aspartame and i heard that Cola is so bad for the health because it has it..so can you do a video on this؟
umm, if you have to say, “or at least none that we know of yet” thats a huge risk. i bet you only eat natural stuff, besides your protein probably. or however you got so big. don’t push this on people. i urge people to drink water. water water water water. ok. I’m done
Didnt you say in your sweetner keto videos that erythitol is the only good sugar alcohol? Cause the body cant digest it immediatley that it was a good thing. I was going to buy monk fruit sweetner from that company but now im thinking twice cause its mixed with erythitol.
Dont we need little bit of sugar in our system? Its had when you abuse on it but it’s not bad when you intake a little bit of it everyday
Loves how he quickly glosses over aspartame without any data to support the theory that it’s harmful.. it’s not. Aspartame is the MOST studied food additive of all time and not a single study has found any serious health concerns at regular levels. You’d have to drink 1600 cans a day to see anything like the kind of issues they charge it with. Since nobody seems willing to actually read a study and we get all our information from unsubstantiated bloggers and social media morons, this is as close to factual as I could find on these unregulated, limited platforms. Yikes. https://youtu.be/CaDaU_vu_iw
Ummm am i thebonly one who heard him say that its NOT an artificial sweetener, then literally 5 seconds later referred to it as an “artificial sweetener” ugh another quack
I have an inkling that stevia affects blood pressure as in it lowers it and also affects the way your body metabolizes sugar. It could just be in my head but I might steer clear of drinking stevia products for awhile to see if I notice a difference.
I’m really confused about stevia now I’ve read both that it’s really bad for you and that it contains bad ingredients and other people said that it’s really good and that it’s 100 percent healthy??
I have been using stevia from 45 days i find it best i use it even to make a dessert now highly recommended
Actually stevia has been used for over 1500 years by South Americans so yeah it’s been around for over a thousand years plus.
I know that the stevia sweet drops have vegetable glycerin in it. Is that a problem that would break a fast or raise insulin levels?
in other words the FDA and stevia they are trying to figure a way to make $$ and screw us over some more
It is 200% sweeter than sugar, not 200 times sweeter, as others have pointed out here. This flub really makes all the other information suspect. Talk to your doctor before using instead of listening to someone’s who’s talent is putting together catchy videos.
WATCH : 8 Ways To Spot Added Sugar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uF0Se250m-s&list=PL_fl96m7OLQWTg82q3ImUs2xVqdBNsjwL&index=88
Thomas when you said that Stevia hasn’t been regulated by the FDA. aren’t most supplement company don’t need FDA approval?
I was wondering I saw truvia gold and it had sugar and molasses I’m confused
Does Stevia spike insulin? Does the body respond differently to sugar substitutes vs. sugar / cane sugar / HFCS? If the body responds similarly, what would be the point in consuming even a sugar substitute? Can you explain?
Hi, is there a brand of gum or mint that you would recommend? The stevia ones i see on the internet all have other ingredients other than stevia and would like something more natural.
THANKS YOU GOODNESS .♥️ BROWN FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS AWESOME
keto lifestyle is a nightmare. so glad i ditched it. i eat like 500 calories worth of fruit every day now and i feel better than ever
Thank u i drank darn diet Pepsi from age 10 to 1982 then diet coke at the last couple of years drinking a case of that crap a day to stay awake from pain meds do to Pulmonary Hypertension they finally diagnosed after complaining of shortness of breath from jr high till final clot got me at age 42. I quit diet coke cold turkey and was in bed for 3 weeks from withdrawals. That aspartame was pushed off by one of President Regans advisor thru FDA despite all the warnings. Read the history. I felt much better off it. Lost a ton of weight to.
Theres a product on internet that helped me thru withdrawals and cravings. Looking back it was crazy having godsons go get 30 cases of diet cook from Walmart a month. Had to have ice and cans of it if i left in car. Nasty stuff. FDA was powerless to big Diet Coke lobbies.
My husband and I eliminated sugar and within the first 2 weeks, we noticed how much inflammation disappeared from our bodies. It’s been amazing! Been looking into Monk Fruit and can’t wait to bake with it.
what if you mix apple cider vinegar and truvia? so apple cider vinegar can help digestion? also to sweetened up apple cider.
Tom is pretty reliable, but stevia can seriously damage testosteron. Just lose the artificial sweeteners. 1 Journal of Ethnopharmacology, Nov 1999, 67(2):157-161, Received 30 November 1998;revised 22 December 1998;accepted 24 December 1998.Available online 10 September 1999., “Effects of chronic administration of Stevia rebaudiana on fertility in rats”
gi day i would like to know can i add stevia t my daily water intake as i don’t like plain water find it hard to drink 8 glasses a day but if i add stevia i can drink it no worries.so in other words will adding stevia to my water will i still receive the same benefits i get if i just drank water on its own
Very disappointed in you TD I just watched something form a couple that I would say you can trust as the share open knowledge you might want to look at this on youtube the title: Stevia Hailed by Overpopulation Propagandists as an Anti-Fertility Agent?
I literally just came from your video of top 5 sugar replacements and honey was number one lol
Beware of the ‘stevia in the raw’ label as it includes maltodextrin…. Not good for Keto
I have noticed a lot of drinks will take Reb A and mix it with erythritol (sugar alcohol). Is this still a better option than flat out sugar? When I imagine sugar alcohol I imagine something that can burn off with your bodies energy but this idea might be an oversimplification idk.
This hasn’t been shown with human studies (there haven’t been any) but stevia may cause lower testosterone. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10619379
Will Stevia take you out of ketosis? Will simply the taste of something sweet cause an insulin spike?
Honey is been around for thousands of years. Nothing wrong with using pure honey.
I was about to make icing sugar with stevia but then you told me about the bulking part thank you!
Silly advice. Don’t eat any sugar. You can be healthy and have a cookie don’t worry.
I use it. 5 drops replaces 2 teaspoons of sugar in iced tea. It has little aftertaste (at 5 drops per cup). what harm could 5 drops do?? BTW It does not work well in hot drinks like coffee.
Thank you for your information on sweetners. What is the difference between Truvia and Splenda Naturals?
So Stevia’s side effects might not be known but everybody knows what Sugar does so it should be a no brainer.
thank you Thomas, where can I get more info about stevia in USA?
Why nobody talks about THAUMATIN?? Where the hell can I get it either Europe&NAFTA, even, God found me confessed, China?
WHICH STEVIA BRAND SHOULD I GET TO HAVE MORE SWEETNESS TO IT???
Can you link to any reputable studies on Manuka honey? I have a hard time distinguishing.
Thank u so much! I often wondered why some brands of Stevie are more expensive than others so I often scan the ingredient list. I found a few with sucrose or dextrose as an ingredient and a few with stevia leaf!
Ugh. Cereal’s disgusting anyways and I don’t drink soda that often. I might as well replace it with tea altogether!
Not a fan of maple syrup or stevia, and occasionally use honey, but I want to try monk fruit, agave, and date and coconut sugar
What’s the difference between Dr. Mona Vand and Vani Hari, im confused, are they the same person?
what brand is the stevia you use? I cant find it at the thrive market
I love honey ♡ I don’t like the bitter after taste of stevia. It reminds me of sweet & low yuck! I did like monk fruit though. It tastes like brown sugar to me.
1:19
It is 200% more sweet than sugar, not 200x more sweet than sugar. Those are incredibly different things
Cheese cake…oh my goodness my weakness.Great alternatives though, thanks.
Stevia and Manuka honey are my favourites and I believe honey helps you lose weight
I would like to try Stevia, I wonder what it tates like and where can I find it:):)
Have you tried replacing sugar with any of these natural sweeteners? Which one is your favourite? If you enjoyed this video, please give it a like and share it with your friends!
Hello Tom.
Greetings from Brazil. I enjoy seeing you explaining so clearly about the subjects. You’ve done your job well.
I plant stevia at my garden. I’m trying to make its syrup naturally. But, I haven’t succeeded yet. I can’t get ready of the bitter test that leaves afterwards. If you know a way please, let me know.
Love your explanation. Keep on doing the great work.
Hugs.
The FDA can’t be that stringent. They’re passing all these fake sugars through. They just don’t like Stevia because it’s natural.
She’s contradicting herself when she says artificial sweeteners aren’t good for you but yet she’s recommending the brand LAKANTO in the description box which have erythrol. I know she isn’t trustworthy! You should too.
I sometimes use Stevia in my coffee. Thanks for the video I learned a lot more about it.
I became diabetic just watching this sweet mama…Hot damn girl you’re fine…
Why on Earth, if she is a doctor, didn’t she realize that Monk fruit has MALTODEXTRIN. GMO!
Your knowledge and experience sharing with us makes us most benefited and inspired us right food to be eaten at right time and in right qty so as to get benefited from balance diet. There is one query. Stevia is a good or bad compare to sugar? Diabetic patient? Calorific value? Like some suppliments with stevia( INS 960) comes under brand musclexp supergreens, macrolife natural greens etc. should it to be avoided as packed items or can be taken with regular tradition diet at right time? one link pasted below shows some information on stevia so request your feedback on same.Whether this site is having good and correct info? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19961353 ⚕️
Great informational video. Totally advocate sugar swaps. Like you I opt for healthy low GI swaps. Grated fruit peal also works in recipes
Ideas for monin caramel (any flavour
coffee syrup) swap? Sugar free like skinny cow and Jordans have an after taste…for me coconut sugar doesn’t do it, maple syrup is OK but only for cinnamon milk not coffee. Almond milk coffee changes taste profile. Skimmed milk coffee with cinnamon is sufficient but not for almond. Blended a date and fig to get sweetness sonetimes
Dr Mona, I am curious on Organic Unrefined Coconut Sugar. What are your thoughts?
Very informative, thanks a lot. Just wanna if they are fine with children below 7 yo especially the stevia and monkfruit?
Thomas, what are your thoughts about xylitol? Thanks for always making great informative videos:)
So, after it has been used for 30 yrs in Japan and 1000 yrs somewhere else and still not enough research?
That’s also explains why Moses name not mentioned any where in the ancient Egypt after what he done to the pharaoh.
It’s hard to find a monk fruit sweetener without a corn additive in it. I’m allergic to corn.
Stevia can ruin the male reproductive system? I’ll take 80 cups then
Please make a video on yogurts! There are a trillion out on the market and feel so overwhelmed when trying to find the healthiest option.
I don’t need any sweeteners, so i guess i’m all good. Only a question of getting used to the bare taste.
I love aunt j syrup but I’m trying to eat better I have tried monk fruit sugar I might go with the liquid stevia though
I am not a fan of stevia’s flavor, perhaps I have not tried the right kind (Brand) So I weant to give it a try… I live in Canada and we Unfortunately Thrive Market does not deliver to anywhere in Canada..Is there any other brand you recommend? I was at Wholefoods Market on the weekend and they didn’t have too many to choose from, must of them have Organic Inulin, Silica and Xylitol I wasn’t sure of this ingredients so i ended up not purchasing any:(
Are there any negative side effects on the gi system with monk fruit or stevia?
I tried a sample couple months ago of stevia zing. It was bitter
Natural is so much better it does not have all the junk and extra stuff
Hi! New to your channel and love your videos:)
I was curious, what exactly is cane sugar and what makes it unhealthy? I know people say the sugar in the raw brand is better for you or “healthy,” but what is it that makes it bad?
LOVE LOVE LOVE these ‘alternatives’ videos!! Thanks a lot!!
Hey Dr. Mona. Was just thinking u can put that Monk fruit powder in ur pancake batter if u wanted to incorporate it.
I feel like you and Dr. Mike would make the cutest couple!!!!
I know when it comes to healthy foods, this is a long shot… But would you consider making a video with tips for people who want to try these types of healthier products but may be on a lower budget? While it may be worth it health wise to pay more for these products, it’s not always attainable on every income.
I would also be interested in hearing you talk about some of the gluten free foods on the market right now. I have celiac disease and I’m just curious about how some of these ingredients like xanthan gum and starches might affect health? Thanks for your thoughts.
The Monk Fruit linked is mostly Erythritol with a bit of Monk Fruit in it it’s not “pure” Monk Fruit
While artificial sweeteners are very controversial, this video is full of misinformation and claims not backed by scientific research.
I know its not plant based but what do u think of honey? Any good Brand and type ro choose?:)
That type of monk fruit is very processed and is mostly dextrose derived from corn. You can get pure monk fruit powder.
STOP CALLING YOURSELF A DOCTOR!!! HAVING A PHARM.D. DOESN”T MEAN YOU INTRODUCE YOURSELF AS “Dr. Mona!”
I love watching your videos! My biggest challenge with eating healthy is ordering at restaurants. Can you give some tips on what to order at restaurants that are not vegan or vegetarian?
Stevia dry leaves Stevia plant available Pl contact me 918472024643
Very helpful! I love coconut nectar and started replacing it in my tea, and it’s so yummy.
My son is diabetic is there a sugar free syrup you recommend?
As a diabetic I’ve tried all the sweeteners, stevia is more bitter aftertaste so I prefer Truvia, as to me it’s the closest taste to sugar.
Xylitol, like stevia, comes from plants…. Xylitol is naturally sweet and can be used in a 1:1 ratio for sugar, which makes it more convenient than steviafor cooking and baking. When substituting xylitol, you won’t have to figure out the conversion, just substitute the same amount.
My daughter is allergic to eggs, is there an alternative for that,as you know it an easy to make for breakfast and filling.
What is you thoughts on keto dieting?
Your videos are very helpful thanks
I ❤️ and use all of those!✔️ where is your nude color cami/tank from?
Honey is bad for us?..………Only a goddamn idiot would say that.
Agave (Agave americana) from which the sweetener is derived is a medicinal plant and should be treated as such; healing many internal discomforts. Also Tequila is derived from one variety. Maple is also medicinal and is my suggestion from these 5, I have also sweetened with a good apple juice.
I am addicted to sugar…. I love almonds covered in a milk chocolate, I am able to eat the whole package in one day, I always crave some sweets… how can I get rid of it?
What a great channel!!! You are truly so motivational! You inspired me to make my own channel! I’ve been watching you for a while now, and I want to say thank you so much for your awesome videos and your honest opinions!
No thank you truvia. I don’t want some pesticide inside me and I prefer full on sugar or coconut
Will you do a video on your thoughts of intermittent fasting?
