Why Sleep is More Important Than Diet | Shawn Stevenson on Health Theory
Video taken from the channel: Tom Bilyeu
It’s important to exercise regularly, but on those days where you can barely hold your eyes open, you shouldn’t feel guilty about skipping the gym and hitting the hay. Sleep can, in fact, be one of the best workouts you give your body, enabling it to rest and recover enough to hit the gym with more vigor the next day. Strengthen Your Sleep Routine.Exercise also improves the quality of our sleep, leading to more slow wave sleep, the “deep sleep” that is important for consolidating memories, and, paradoxicall. Both sleep and exercise are key components of a healthy lifestyle, Boston-based sleep expert Charles Czeisler, MD, told The New York Times, and.
The pros of this situation are that you’ll sleep better the night that you choose this path because exercise always has an impact on sleep quality, even if you have insomnia or sleep apnea. Another con is that you’re helping your mental health every time you exercise. And now for the negatives.According to a 2016 study, lack of sleep can also increase peaks of a chemical that makes eating more pleasurable.
That can make dieting very hard. Pro: You’ll help your mental health. Over and over, exercise has been shown to reduce depression and anxiety and just boost your mood overall.
That certainly doesn’t make sleep less important, though, said Prescott. Adequate sleep helps maintain a healthy immune system and, like exercise, plays a role in maintaining healthy weight. “Most of all, it keeps us alert and allows us to concentrate, whether at our jobs or while driving,” he said. You will perceive the exertion in exercise to be more (i.e., working out when sleep-deprived feels more difficult). You will likely not perform at your best. So the next time you’re wondering whether you should hit the gym or hit the sheets, first consider the consequences, and then try to get more sleep the next night.
“No longer are we a nine-to-five society, but as long as a person is consistently going to sleep within the same hour or two each night, the body will be able maintain its schedule more efficiently.” Indeed, sleep, diet and exercise are each important, and if you neglect any of them, it’s not ideal.Sleep and exercise both play an important role in your well being. People always talk about the triad of thinking, moving and eating well, but what about sleeping well? After all, it does take up a 3rd of your day or it should!
Most people tend to forego one and give more weight to the other. Now that you’ve seen how important sleep is – to your physical fitness and general health – hopefully you’ll give it the credit it deserves. Let your exercise take a back seat while you sort your sleep out; and you’ll be a more rested, more energetic person come morning.“When you look at the research, regular physical activity is important for high-quality sleep, and high-quality sleep is important for physical performance,” says Cheri Mah, a sleep medicine.
When that is the case, just choose sleep, say experts. Yes, you read that right. Many experts keep reiterating that while lack of exercise might give you a.Sleep maintains your mental and physical health, helps your body recover, and strengthens your immune system. If we were to judge based on this aspect alone, we would have to say that sleep is more important than exercise.
A study that came out recently suggests which one you should choose: exercise or sleep. Or not. You never know with scientific studies. Nevertheless, this one warrants a glance.
A study by the National Cancer Institute found that exercising can reduce a woman’s risk of.Otherwise, exercise is the best choice. “Thirty minutes of exercise is more impactful health-wise than 30 minutes of extra sleep,” Kline says, “however, that’s only if you are getting the basal amount of your necessary sleep need, meaning at least 6.5 or 7 hours a night.

Hope you read this:)
Great videos. Please keep em coming. In another note, im helping a friend out who’s trying to bulk. I’ve watched all of your posted videos, and can you post something along the lines of this:
alot of gainers out there has high amount of carbs, but do not have sugar or fiber (or very little of them), where is this carbs coming from then? if it’s starch, please explain how it works in our macros and diet and how it plays a role.
So powerful. I sleep with an eye mask, but have the blinds open so when I do wake up I see sunlight, but now I realise how the light affects not just my eyes, so I will be closing my blinds from now on. Learned a lot!
does air conditioner affects muscles
can you make a video about that?
If this isn’t a good reason to get into shape! Being overweight is the main reason for heart disease as well as apnea. Since I have gained significant weight I have experienced sleep apnea and an increase in high blood pressure. It’s a no brainer that poor diet and exercise has led me here. It’s a wake up call! Thanks for this video
He’s really hard to stop listening to! He’s such a charismatic and comforting presence. And has a lot of great information. Great interview!
I have a totally blacked out bedroom I can’t even see if I have open or closed eyes haha. I also have it around 18 degrees celcius and no alarm clock. It works wonders. Been doing this for years.
I don’t work out because when I do, I can’t sleep for crap the next two days. No matter when I workout.
One Like granted for you as no Bro Science wording see in this video. I fully understand!
Epoch time say barr is launching a criminal investigation into Spygate, Now i understand coronavirus..
Excellent information! Signing up for podcast.
If you listen without watching, you would think this is Drake lol
Knowing we need to sleep but not being able to sleep are like a catch 22.
Amazing!! This is the best explanation of sleep I have ever heard.
27:47 this would make a lot of sense with the freshman 15 weight gain in college. all the sudden kids start going to bed at 3 am and lose quality in sleep and gain weight
Ps, regarding being with positive people “choose your companies from the very best or topple down the hill like all the rest” W. B. Yeats. Great poet. Early 20th century. Irish
Really fascinating and eye-opening. I just ordered light-blocking curtains for my bedroom.
thank u guys for the great video (y) keep up
btw can u make a video about masturbation and “gains” or being fit
because I want to achieve what I what I always think sleeping is wasting time
The way he presented is awesome. He was more amazing than most of your guest. And you too great tom.
I work out from 7:15– 9:15 pm ( depends on how fast i workout) and go home before 10 pm. But whenever im going to bed, i know that i will sleep early this night because im tired and used up all my energy at the gym.
But then again, sometimes i really have a hard time sleeping at night even though im so tired. It gets me so frustrated to think on what am i missing for the reason why i cant sleep.
I usually dont sleep at the afternoons also so that i will have no regret when i cant sleep in the night but sometimes it aint the problem. i dont know what is.
have someone encountered this problem before also?
Juicing on a daily is what decreased my pain. Pain meds were never an option for me. I made the decision to get better bcuz I felt like the drs were spinning me. It was like a dog chasing it’s own tail. I went from one dr to the next all around Illinois. I was sick n tired of being tired
I disagree. This might work for most people but for some reason not for me. I’ve researched online and found that many people have the same issue. I finish my one hour long gym workout at around 3.30pm (three times a week) and go to sleep before 10pm. By that time my heart rate and body temperature are still elevated. The body just won’t shut down! This prevents me from feeling comfortable in bed and leads to a very shallow and restless sleep. This accumulates through the week and I’m pretty dead by weekend. What gives?!
Crazy cause the fittest pals I knew had this
Pal was telling me he has a cpap machine i was like wtf
Never heard of Shawn before, but did just purchase the (audio) book! Great interview and information, and I agree with Shawn when he said that it’s very important to surround yourself with like minded people, which in some ways can be challenging (based on my current perceptions) for your real life environment. I also agree that learning and having some expertise in your areas of concern is also key. Thanks to both of you, and I now have another channel (The modern health show) to add based on IT!:)
To Sleep well, exercise and enjoy solitude is the key to health and happiness.
Interesting, maybe this is why Presidents age so fast while in office. Their sleep patterns are extremely erratic.
I don’t understand how he can justify saying that moonlight isn’t the same as sun light. All moonlight is is reflected sunlight. Which depending on the phase of the moon is often bright enough to light up the world. How can this be less disruptive than a tiny led light in one’s bedroom, or a distant streetlight hitting your blinds?
GOD I love this man! This sleep and weight problem I have for years…and at 36 I have diabeties it all make sense!!!! Thank youuuuuu❤
Hospital nurses are frequently mandated to do double shifts (16 hours straight). They come in to do a scheduled 8 or 12 hour shift, only to be told about an hour or 2 before the shift end that they will have to stay longer due to staffing deficits. This chronic lack of sleep takes a toll after a while. We know that lack of sleep is dangerous to the nurse—and for the ability to safely care for patients. No patient wants to be cared for by an overworked/overtired nurse…but hospitals struggle to find a way to prevent needing nurses past the scheduled shift. Here, nurses are expected to promote good health habits—while being prevented from taking care of their own (ie regular sleep patterns).
Working out at night vs
working out in the morning vs
working out during the day.
walking to car and routine was exercise, with quarantine not even that activity is burning energy, thus my bad no activity bad sleep routine, too much energy unused. Its comforting to know the machine and light technology to correct a too wakeful tired pattern is just walking outdoors for free
So good!! Thank you Shawn! Getting some blue blockers for my kids. I already do tons to help with sleep routines and deeper sleep, like lower temps, blocking all light, limiting tech before sleep, and so much more. This just reinforced all of it. Thank you!!
BTW I love the built in blue to yellow shift called Lux that Shawn mentioned. Highly recommend that as a first step. I have blue blocker glasses for myself and they truly make a difference if you need to be exposed to screens but still want solid sleep.
I use a black soft sleep mask because our air conditioner has a green light on it and the smoke detector has a red one.
“You’re the average of the five people that are closest to you.” Wow, I’m gonna spend the next week just meditating on that concept.
@ 50:30 Mc Donald’s has salads as well… you decide whether you can maintain a healthy lifestyle no matter the time, place or situation.
Could you interview the carnivore sisters. They were featured on the Doctor’s… I believe they are known as the strong sisters..
because I want to achieve what I what I always think sleeping is wasting time
Why haven’t I found ur channel before? Just watched most of ur videos and subscribed. I love it. Each video is so informative, accurate, short and even funny at some points lol. Straight to the point always and u put all off ur sources. Perfect, u definitely deserve more subscribers! <3 Gonna go follow u on Twitter, IG etc now!
Is there a relationship between sleep apnea and small fiber neuropathy?
I wake up gasping for air in the middle of the night, with high heart rate and legs shivering and I drink water and calm down
Tom, you look tired in this interview. I hope you’re getting enough sleep…
It’s 100% harder to stay sharp with my diet if I’m sleep deprived
im 50 in 2 months… 10 years ago I had a bad motorcycle accident. L4-L5 and L5-S1 medium buldging discs. and Degenerative disc in those areas. Im a fire Fighter by profession the doctor said to start looking into fire prevention or some sorta office job because in a few years im likely to be in a whieel chair. I stopped teaching Muay Thai and took it easy. However, after a year the pain had gotten worse and the only option was disc replacement and it costs $85,000 + so, I decided to take control and strat working out. and now Ive trained Muay Thai in Thailand 6 times for 1-3 months at a time with top guys like Saenchai. Sure, still have some pain, but its far more managable now. so, 10 years later, still very mobile, but yeah some pain still. some days worse then others. Also, I do the OMAD lifestyle now. Its amazing and I highly recomend it for everyone. If you are bulking then only do it 1 or 2 times a week but reat for cutting weight and health and wellness. So much less foggy in the mind. More energy and happier.
because I want to achieve what I what I always think sleeping is wasting time
LOVE THIS CHANNEL! Every video I watch it learn something new.
Wow. A YouTube thread with 100% positive comments on the dullest, least insightful interview I’ve seen on months. Looks like somebody’s bought themselves a feedback farm
One thing I learned about sleep from a sleep therapist is to wake up at the same time every day no matter what
Too much coffee makes it hard for me to sleep soundly and i feel like a semi ran over me the next morning.
So if blue light is bad, i think you have to change the back lights of you stage bro.
In the book it is said that melatonin is a hormone. IT IS NOT!
The truth is, you cannot sleep well if you don’t have good nutrition, so they are both equally important.:)
I’m a genetically thin person, I was sleeping just fine until I started going to the gym after work after 5pm I try to be in bed at 10pm but I toss and turn sill 2am-4am and get about 3 hours of sleep . Everybody is different. I think I may need to try going to the gym before work. Studies are not always right.
Sleep is more important than diet and exercise. He is 100 percent right. Since I’ve started sleeping better I’ve woken up more refreshed, more happier and thinner then ever before even when I’ve eaten a truck load of food the day before. Also again he is right about sleeping smarter not longer. If you get 6 good hours of sleep it’s better then 10 bad hours. Also I only sleep well when I’m warm. Since buying my heated blanket during the winter, I keep it on lowest temperature and I sleep like a baby.
Off topic and random He must hang around a lot of african Americans because if I didn’t see his face I would of swore he was a black man he got a little swag.
So…I’ve noticed something very ominous happening lately. I have friends from a variety of backgrounds, variety of age-ranges….and different levels of health and fitness. And almost all of them have been going in for “sleep studies” and stuff. Just within the past 3 years or so. Not because they think anything is wrong with them, but because their doctors suggest it. The term “sleep apnea” has been popping up so much lately, I am honestly wondering if there’s some kind of conspiracy. Don’t you think this is being OVER-DIAGNOSED? Modern humans have been around for over 200,000 years. Don’t you think we’d have sleep down by now? Sure, our diets and lifestyles have changed, but just because you snore at night, or breathe erratically from time-to-time….doesn’t mean you need to be treated for something. Why are doctors so eager to throw pills at stuff?
I have another question. How much leucine should I consume as a bodybuilder? I’m thinking about the video you did on protein.
i do resistant training daily from 6 months but not seeing much gains.. i donot use any protein supplyment.. give me some tips…plz
I had similar issue with hips. I learned about silica husk, diatomaceous earth and wt barrier exercise since then.
it is great that exercise improves sleep, and sleep improves exercise
I keep hearing that sleep is so important. I am an ideopathic insomniac, 4 hours or less sleep a day for no apparent reason. How can I sleep more without popping pills?
this channel is great, it makes me want to dig deeper into these topics
How many people here bc they just exercised and can’t fall asleep
Ive been running/walking for an hour on a treadmill for a week and Ive noticed I can remember my dreams better! And last night I had a good dream, maybe I can even start to lucid dream if I try hard enough (or maybe Im just exaggerating lol)
49:49 I have always wondered why my people stopped calling me.. I have a lot of me time now. All of Shawn’s friends have healthy sleep habits. Quality friends people.
Tom you should invite Dr. Walter Pierpaoli. He is a scientist, he was the one to first make the firsts experiments in the 60. He is 85 now and well.
Actually core body temperature lowers at night, only skin temperature rises from emitted core body temperature. But it is true, that increased body temperature during the day(e.g. through exercise) promotes slow wave sleep at night. Probably because it results in core body temperature being even lower at night.
Awesome video! For the past 10 years, I have been working extremely hard to compiling a valuable report about the Top 10 tips for losing weight quickly and easily. Please click the link below for the FREE report. http://fairora.clkpfct.com/go/FreeReport
What about using melatonin pills to fall asleep easier? Since it’s natural it shouldn’t do any harm to the body/sleeping schedule, right? Can you talk about this in the future or just reply this comment?
Thanks in advance, your videos are awesome, keep it up with the good job!
So yall mean that when Nas said “I never sleep, ’cause sleep is the cause of the death” he was wrong?
Another great interview and guest Tom. Keep up the good work educating and helping people with there health and mental health!
Normally I go to bed at 9:00 PM and actually sleep 2 3 hours later. When I found out I needed to sleep a lot by watching this (last night), I ended up not sleeping until the sun was just starting to rise. I hate my life.
Excellent video thank you! Another treatment option, however, that I believe was missed is use of a dental appliance to shift the lower jaw forward and thus open the airway. I have begun using such a device (the Silent Nite XL) and it is working well. I no longer wake up gasping for air like before. I had tried CPAP before and absolutely hated it. Note that I am a thin person who regularly exercises, and I’m hopeful this dental appliance will show long term benefits for increasing my energy levels. Thanks again!
Instead of talking about healthy eating habits and exercise they push their CPAP product. Notice how at 7 minutes and 50 seconds he says there’s a ton of ways to help with this but let’s just focus on our machine.
I slept after 12am since 2012 June and thought that I could never sleep like normal people but since i started going to gym at 7 am since 8 Jan 2017.I have slept before 12 each day automatically.
True, i do cardio 20-30 mins a day and I sleep like a baby EVERY DAY
is it okay to sleep anytime during the day (as long as it is 8 hours)??
also.. would u recommend byphasic/polyphasic sleep over normal 8 hours sleep??
make these 2 vids = $10 on patreon
Eat, sleep, train. Eat, sleep, train. Oh you have kids? Eat, take care of kids, train. Eat, take care of kids…...
fast forward to year 2025, this channel will have all the wisdom that is out there within human consciousness.. thankyou
Dude you got to advertise your channel… I’ve watched a lot of your vids and the science and logic is amazing and you explain it with pictures! Lol idiot proof and very informative, keep up the good work..
I have found that taking iron supplements makes me feel less sleepy during the day but I had convinced myself that I have an iron deficiency which I probably don’t so it might be a placebo effect.
Thank you. “You should certainly safeguard your nerves, and force yourself to take time, and not only for prayer and meditation, but for real rest and relaxation.” Baha’i Faith, Lights of Guidance
im gonna call BS seeing as i workout during the day and am completely drowsy by evening time. but those rare times i workout in the evening, im more energetic
My sleep gets actually worse after working out, body temperature is too high and muscles are too sore, any recommendations?
I workout at 4 am in the morning (cardio session of approx 30-60 mins)
what are your views on that?
As per this video morning workouts were associated with sunlight which will decrease melatonin levels..
.
My views:
It has helped me emotionally mentally and physically
there’s so much time in the morning you can build a castle before others even wake up.
Also.. I have seen many videos saying you need minimum 8 hours of continuous sleep and the same page saying waking up early morning at 5 will change your life.. so are we supposed to sleep at 9 pm?
I sleep at 11pm wake up at 3.30 am workout build a castle and take a quick nap and then get back to my day.. And sleep in the afternoon if possible.. and it works perfectly for me:)
It’ll be great if you could clear that doubt of continuous sleep thing..
Thanks:)
You really deserve more followers than this for your effort, my friend.
it’s these fucking smart phones man if I didn’t have this smart phone I would be asleep rn
while this may be true I had the opposite, I’m someone who is in boxing, when I used to go to the boxing gym and train for 2 and a half hours I used to get really exhausted, weight lifting is nothing compared to weight lifting, but anyways I’d get home and eat me a good meal but at night I’d wake up around 2 am feeling energized and the sleep I got from 10 2 felt very shallow
What color is the lightbulb you got from Nassau for sleeping for night? So what color light won’t disturb my night sleeping? Red?
You should have shirts made up that say….Very interesting….
Im sorry but you can sleep 14 hours a day and you won’t loose a pound of fat without caloric deficit. No mr you will not brake the law of thermodynamics.
Pure bs regarding that point. Yeah if you sleep all day you will eat less, but your fat loss isnt bcs of sleep but CALORIE DEFICIT.
Could u make a video talking more about vitamines? The uses and how to make the best mix of them in order to get more healthy. Tks for all the vids, u are really an artist.
my sleep get worst after working out alot. It makes my body temperature high and too hot to sleep.
Can’t tell what it is, but I love the videos. Straight forward and short. I love the work keep it up!
So I’ve seen all of your videos and I love how you explain everything really thoroughly. I liked your video of sets and reps per set depending on goal (endurance, muscle growth, and strength) it cleared up a lot of confusion. But it brought up another question. How many exercises per day and does it differ on goal. Ex. Do less exercises on Endurance. Or do more exercises when Building Strength or stay consistent throughout
That explain why older people who hit the gym are so fit and healthy.
Can you please make a video about being addicted to exercising or in other words, Compulsive Exercise Disorder.
How many champagne bottles we poppin’ when you hit that 100k!!?? Will champagne help me sleep?????
Just binge watched all your vids man, excellent channel and subscribed. I have one question, did you study biology? You seem to know alot about it
It’s nonsensical that this guy only has 100k+ subs. You should have 1m+
Can you exercise even you don’t have enough sleep? Viewer from PH
sleep is more important than diet and exercise is a massive overstatement…..
Central apnea is hereditary on my dad’s side of the women. My great grandmother died in her sleep at 42. Her daughter, my dad’s mom, died in her sleep in her 40’s A FEW TIMES but received cpr each time by her watchful husband. They put a pacemaker in and she lived into her 70’s. Diagnosed with Cental apne, I stop breathing over 300 times an hour. Insurance only covered obstructed so they renamed my type and gave me a CPAP, with no obstruction it ran the water out and dried my throat so when I swallowed my throat was sticky and sealed shut!! I struggle to unstick my throat as things went dark, CPAP nearly killed me. Still they want to give me CPAP but I refuse to use it. Both my dad and mom’s sides are all dead of strokes and widow-makers. Central apnea is highly UNDER diagnosed and treated. You may even notice you stop breathing during the day… feeling super tired, dozing off… notice… was I breathing… does brief hyperventilating make me feel awake again?? It’s a silent killer!!!! They misdiagnose Central Apnea in infants as SIDS. Review your family history!! Watch your kid’s breath while they sleep, do they stop and restart, softly or with a gasp? Does their stomach jerk when they’ve stopped?? Does YOUR or your mate’s stomach jerk in their sleep, or do gasp or begin to suddenly breath like they just ran?? YOU… are likely the only one who can spot it!!! Causes, fatigue, depression, difficulty concentrating, memory issues, heart problems, problems in school, sooo many things. If you get diagnosed and they say obstructed read the fine typing all over your report to see if you see Central anywhere. I accidentally noticed mine said Central Apnea, so I inquired, not knowing what it meant and they explained the insurance issue as the rewrite reason. Advocate for you and yours!!!! Central is more prevalent that studies show because its not reported, overlooked and too often dismissed as fatigue syndrome when you’re not overweight. My grandmother was overweight but had CENTARAL apnea NOT obstructed.
Wish you all well.
thankyou for your vids can you do a video on the accuracy of treadmill calorie counters?
hi i first of all great work and thank you for all your information and plz keep updating
i need to know how many calories dose 1 pound of muscle burns and dose more muscle help me loss weight?

This is my way of convincing myself to go to sleep and not wake up super early to go work and then work a 10 hour shift…. I need my sleep❤️
Urmm its 4:11 for me im doing an all nighter for no reason at all apart for the fun of it SORRY HEALTH YOU DONT EXIST TO ME
I love this guy!! He seems very genuine! He definitely helped me
Do you have a video about over training symptoms? I LOVE yalls videos they really are awesome! keep up the great work!!!!
can you do a video on resistance bands vs weights? also a video on the effectiveness of TRX.
while you are still on the subject of sleep can you discuss how iron dream and similar before bed supplements work
Can you make a video about how long a training session should last (or time range) (what I do is 1 hour, some say it’s too much, other say it’s nothing). I thing you can do a decent video about it and I bet a lot of people will learn from it ;D
22:21 I challenge any one to try this. It’s not as easy to do as it sounds.
you guys should do a video on whether there is a connection between estrogen and fat.
This whole time I was in the comments thinking I was listening to an advertisement lol
question…. most gym offers a sauna or a steam bath. Is it good, bad or irrelevant to have one of those after exercise?
workout triggered my testosterone so hard……. I have raging boner next day morning, I barely sleep 5 hours
The fake news is just not in the media,it’s in some cases the health profession. When somebody says there’s nothing you can do or you will never walk again just ask Dr. Dispenza.
I totally agree with him!!! I was falling apart and doctors made me worse. Took me 2 years of medical logs, journals and archival lit to find solutions. Now 15 years of no uti, fungal infections, yeast infections, hair loss as well as other things.
Some people say to eat fruit on an empty stomach, or else it’ll ferment. Is that true?
I had horrible insomnia for Nine months, the only way I could sleep was by taking medications. Finally my physician recommended this sleep plan 4InsomniaCure. Com After Five weeks, I attained the best sleep of my life. I cannot advise it enough, especially for long term insomniacs. My sleeping has drastically improved!?
Months of anger and depression all solved with some good sleep! I never realized how important sleep is to the mind.
Subscribed. A lot of information in short videos. Question though: Yoga, is it good or bad?
I like your videos before they even start. I know damn well I’m gonna like them. Keep up the quality content coming.
10 hours sleep a day make me more focus on my work…
Einstein said it…
I work at night shift so I workout in the morning after work, but its hard to sleep, also I cant wake up in time because I feel that I didnt get enough sleep,I get constant headache If I try to wake up in time,I tried supplementing with creatine that helped me to recover faster with few hours of sleep for about a month, now I feel like its going back to the old feeling of lack of sleep…
There’s a Tony Robbins talk that I’ve listened to hundreds on times and Shawn uses the exact same words. I’m so happy to hear these beautiful words from multiple sources. Self Help is the best help.
because I want to achieve what I what I always think sleeping is wasting time
I wish I could eat healthy but my parents keep buying this shit ass junk foods. Any tips?
This one is kinda too short:( Like 40-50 seconds more and it’d be great
All I can say is It’s ridiculous that I’m not dead yet. God’s cruel joke. Apnea + neuralgia since 2000. I’m 34. I’m not overweight.
I workout often been doing it for year, feel I’m in shape but idk I wake up often with heart racing, can this be sleep apnea.
I cant sleep on workout days. Anyone else have this? No caffiene, stimulants, ect.. If it is slightly intense, i cant sleep.
nice video man can you do a video about ectomorph, mesomorph and endomorph?
I discovered that super early workouts, cardio especially, can have the most positive effect on you. This was never clear to me until I watched this video. Mike O’hearn works out very early. I thought maybe just to keep up with a busy schedule.
I had obstructive sleep apnea (now partially under control). Along with other symptoms, I often woke up with an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. Not pain exactly, but a heavy, dragging, achy discomfort that drained you of energy and enthusiasm.. I now wonder if this was a start of cardiovascular problems.
Minmm 8 hours sound sleep is a must.for your Body n mind.. To avoid many other side effects like hang over, High BP..
Deefficiency..in work.n alert Mind.
I think I have central apnea/heart condition. Why is the testing so expensive..what are the treatments? I’ve been living with this for 25 years.
I’m so scared I have this apnea. But not when I’m asleep. While I’m wide awake.
I get central apnea when I go to sleep late or stay up too long what does this mean
The information in regards to an increase in body temperature helping sleep may not be correct, since sleep is part of the circadian rhythm I am sure that when our core body temperature decreases it is much more easier to initiate sleep due to the production of melatonin, but when our body is near waking melatonin secretion is inhibited due to the rising of body core temperature.
This information can be found at google scholar, journal name is (Some chronobiological and physiological problems associated with long-distance journeys) on the section of sleep rhythm (just quiet confused why you would want body temperature to increase)
Society doesn’t want us to sleep, it wants us to spend and run around like headless chickens. Ten hours sleep a day is required for optimum health and longevity. Great point about light coming into the bedroom. A complete blackout is required for good, deep sleep. The growth hormone released during sleep strengthens and builds every tissue in your body. People are now doing more frantic activity than ever before, non stop. And all it does is release the stress hormone cortisol into your body which damages health. Less, in terms of activity, is definitely more. Most people look exhausted these days. With regards exercise high intensity short bursts give very good results such as sprinting and high intensity weights, Uphill cycling. Any more than forty minutes exercise and the hormone balance shifts, dramatically, from testosterone and growth hormone release into cortisol and one is achieving the opposite results of what one intended. But wholesale society benefits from this in many ways but individuals don’t. It really is a heinous matrix. To get out is to perform miracles. You’ve just said our sleep patterns are far more important than our diet and exercise. Truer words never spoken. Thank you for the talk. Excellent. Not just quality of sleep. Quality of everything. I find supplementation of 3mg of melatonin an hour before sleep greatly aids deep sleep and fat loss. As does 50mg dhea pd. I’m 55 and have been following the above regime for over 10 years and don’t look a day over 40. Also feel fitter and stronger than when I was 21. Keep up the good work. And get your message across. Its needed

What if you already have cardiovascular disease you have hypertension you have had two heart attacks and you wake up like your throat cut off and you can’t breathe you’re gasping for air. that started with me from having acid reflux disease and I don’t have the acid reflux disease as much. What happened to me last night without any sort of acid reflux or indigestion but I can tell you I jumped up out of bed pretty quick.
For normal ejection fraction BUT LV Diastolic dysfunction (grade1), Is ASV the preferred treatment in this case?
