My daughter has Celiacs, is lactose free, no rice due to allergy, and nut free as well as follows some night shade foods. Here is what she eats:
Peaches, cherries, plums, pineapple, water mellon, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries.
Broccoli, all potatoes, yams, butternut squash, yellow squash, zuchinni, summer squash, pumpkin, brussel sprouts, peas, green beans, cauliflower, etc
Chicken, beef, fish, turkey
Eggs, gf df nf pancakes, waffles, turkey bacon
I mean as long as you eat whole food you are good.
She loves In n Out as their beef patties are gf and she gets it protein style.
No pasta as she is rice free.
Coeliac Coeliac diseases! Just diagnosed. I love red wine but Im reading some are made with wheat paste? Im also a super dooper lightweight. Ive always get loopy after drinking any alcohol. About a standard shotglass amount. I get a little rashy on my face and start smiling and giggling. It must be the allergic reaction.
the taste of a glutenfree beer is not realy different. you could al things cook glutenfree without loss of taste:D
Good news is Lucky Charms is also gluten free so if you really want to barf up your guts the old fashioned way feel free to make your martini magically delicious. (And fyi for those new to a Celiac diagnosis, Bailey’s is not gluten free. Of course if you’re drunk enough to use Irish Cream in place of milk, you’re likely going to be barfing your brains out anyway)
You just endured tummy aches. Cool, what did you do about the cancer and organ failure that also comes with celiac disease?
I have litterally been strugling with consipation my entire life as well as bad eczema. It wasnt until I visited family and lived off sandwiches that I considered I was gluten intolerant. I dont eat alot of breads. But after that week I couldnt go for a week. I cut it out and I felt soo much better. I didnt even know I was constintly bloated.
Suffered from severe gastrointestinal issues, migraines, rashes and joint paint for the last 8 years. Had a barrage of tests run and doctors had no answers. Decided to go on a Keto diet to lose weight, eliminated all gluten for the sake of the diet, and BAM! In just a few days, all symptoms disappeared. I’m not sure if I’m gluten-intolerant or not, but I do know my life has changed for the better now that I’ve stopped eating gluten and that’s all the proof I need.
I was told last year I am gluten intolerant had 7/9 signs from the video. Did not have adhd or bad teeth.. I am allergic to dairy protein too and have ibs c. My worst allergy is soya. I have scalp psoriasis, dermatitis which used to be really bad but now you cannot tell I have it. I have bad circulation, back and spine issues, asthma, shpulder issues get migraines. I was told I could be coeliac but hard for it to be diagnosed even with a blood test at times. I know people and it took years before they were diagnosed coeliac.
I was told to go back on gluten for six weeks eat gluten products twice a day even just two slices of bread. After one day I got so bad with pain I wanted to rip my stomach out, crying over the pain, rash, and the got migraine, then super tired rang Dr and was told to stop eating gluten not worth it. I was put down as gluten intolerant.
Thank God for the internet, I don’t remember the last time I was so comfortable in my body! It just sucks that i can’t just grab a cheap snack off the shelves and have to check ingredients and barcodes all the time now. Worth it though!
I have most of if not all of these signs but I do not have a sensitivity to gluten and will continue to eat pizza
LMFAO at the girls teasing the girl over chips when chips are made of potato or corn. you can eat the chips girl
I had so much problems at school because of gluten and I did not know about it. Only much later I found out, what was plaguing me.
Gluten bloats me like a puffer fish and sometimes so painful
We eat boiled dumplings here in Jamaica and eating just one makes me sick and it gives me this depressing feeling, I’m realizing these things since recently anything with flour always ticks me off, sometimes even looking at anything flour based turns me off like my body is rejecting it
Omg…I’m 29 and I’m just learning I’m sensitive to gluten!! Holy shiiiiiiit. My mind is blown I thought I was just unlucky to have all these problems!!
What the hell,i have all of the symptomes. And bread is my favourite food. What the hell? ♀️
I legit was diagnosed with celiac disease (autoimmune disease making you highly allergic to gluten) eight years ago what am I doing here?
Wheat, rye bulgher and BARLEY. ANYTHING MALTED has gluten in it!
Longevity is most connected with genetics not diet. I eat a little bit of everything and it works for me. We have a garden so we know vegetables are organic but I also eat junk food once in a while. She’s right about food choices becoming an idol; it’s stupid and excessive.
I went in for bloodwork to test for reasons behind why I keep getting diarrhea and abdominal discomfort (I’ve had diarrhea for 7-10 days at a time for the last two months). I am 22 years old and I have headaches 24/7 and I have brittle nails, and heartburn regularly. Doctors have told me that that I could have celiac or a gluten intolerance, (I’ve been cutting out gluten, it’s only been like a week). I’ve been paying attention to what I’m eating to see the possible correlations. Meat, eggs, and milk are also not apart of my diet. However I am still waiting on the results from the lab, so hopefully they can figure out what I am allergic too. I pray that I figure this out because I’m sick of having the shits all day
Time to get healthy keto with Dr Berg guys! Best of luck. ❤️
Ok this is not true what the other people have said I have a gluten intolerants and I know that because of the fact that whenever I ate gluten I would get a red rash on my face but it was never itchy just made me feel gross then I stopped eating gluten and it went away so I went and got tested and NO it dose not show on the test if you are gluten intolerant it only shows if you have celiac and I did not have celiac and I still do occasionally eat gluten but it doesn’t show after a hour it shows up after about 1 day and then I have to wait a while for it to go away so do not listen to what everyone else said trust me I have been this way for a year and a half if you know this it will help you Honestly don’t go around saying ADHD people should change it to ADHS attention deficit hyper activity super power because it is just offensive to call it a disorder I am not disorder I am a human being listen to the word disorder I am how I am and people should NEVER say disorder We’ll celiac and gluten intolerance it’s two different things celiac is where you can’t literally can’t eat food it could really hurt you an intolerance to just you show side effects is not as dangerous
well the irony is i am deathly allergic to wheat resulting in anaphylaxis
I have the itchy rash (severe), headaches, concentration problems menstrual problems and generally feeling crap after eating bread. (or a thing else made from cereals) I think I’m gluten intolerant but my doctor is old fashioned type and thinks I’m overreacting I forgot to say I’m also anemic on a regular basis and have thin breakable nails
Well I checked my skin and I had those rashes for awhile (I’m a woman) like I didn’t realize it
so about a year ago I am on keto diet for weight loss I was 250 pounds and now I’m 190 pounds also I have epilepsy but I need a real test if this has to do with gluten also is it ok to ask my nerologyst about it if it really causes my rashes?also if anyone ask my age I’m 20 years old

There is a whole world of food out there. I like to eat Indian, japanese, thai, mexican, ethiopian, american, mediterranean, everything. I cook french and UK food at homeI have a more varied diet than anyone else I know. It irritates me when people feel pity for me because I can’t eat gluten. Why on earth would they feel sorry for me? I feel sorry for THEM! Their diets are so limited, and for absolutely no reason at all
I had an endoscopy and they saw a ton of inflammation but still didnt say it was wheat, it was a worthless Bunch of wasted money, I felt 100% better with no wheat so I continued to go wheat free. They sent me off to the lab to see if I had celiac but the blood work showed I didnt. Its pitiful that I seemed to know more than them!
Hi my name is Deirdre can you know if you have gluten free your do you have to be tested for gluten intolerant
Check. Check. Check. Check………
For me especially when I have bread that is very elastic in its structure. Like NY style pizza dough…. I will sleep for 2 days if I have more than a slice. Itchy palms that are actually red like I’ve slapped them on something…. chronic fatigue. Bottoms of my feet uncontrollably itchy…:ADHD; I swell up / water weight of 5-10 lbs after… started happening in my mid 30s.
well crap. That hits on every single separate diagnosis that I have. I just crashed hard after eating a bowl of chicken soup and landed on this video in my research to figure out why. Explains a lot.
I get migraine, unexplained weight gain, constipation, when I eat gluten, these things disappear when I drop gluten from my diet
wasn’t till I started KETO cut all gluten and sugar. felt %200 better. skin, joint pain, energy etc etc all improved dramatically
Me watching this even though I’ve been coeliac for 10+ years
What your explaining in video sounds more like celiac disease rather than gluten sensitivity there two completly different things, lack of absorbstion of vitamins due to flattened villi in instestin which happens in undiagnoised celiac patients
I have cealiac desiease and when i was younger they did’t have anything good to eat!!!!!!
To some (SOME) of you: maybe you are not gluten intolerant, you are glyphosate intolerant. Please, do your research! This thing is everywhere and symptoms are alike.
I have hashimotos hypothyroidism and need to avoid gluten from the diet…I was always deficient in iron too…the worst thing was that my doctor never told me any dietary restrictions….I took me four years on medication to figure out why I didn’t see any change in my symptoms…
After 22 years, I know now the unexplainable happenings in my body. All my life, I love breads, pastries, cake and such. But here I am found out that I am gluten intolerant . I will start gluten free diet from now on. Thanks so much for this!! ✨✨
Have most of these, except I have a wheat (and its family) allergy. I now know why my ADHD meds only worked for a short time and why I keep having to switch them around and up the dosages.
im so happy,i love the internet,id been back n fore to the doctors for the last 2 years in agony with these symptoms,it seemed to start after id had my gallbladder out.getting nowhere at the doctors,i decided to google it myself, cut out gluten 4 days ago n wow! i feel great!,it actualy feels like a miracle that the cure to this misery was so easily obtainable, thank you so much for this video x
3 years ago I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis which surprised me a lot, my doctor tell me stop all type of grains, milks, suggest me convert in vegan diet. And you know this change me a lot.
I had almost all symptoms mentioned, had horrible diarrhea for 2 months consistently, then diagnosed with Celiac disease. Took me months and was difficult to stay gluten free. I would eat gluten again after healing and temptation got the best of me. Had a colonoscopy/endoscopy. Last time I go off my gluten diet. My GI physician warned me many times that I’m going to get instestinal cancer. Last visit really concerned me that I had several growths removed. I am eating gluten free again and sticking with it. No slip ups! Although I’m slowly improving my problem of all those symptoms, but still with me. Have not gone away and hope they do gradually. I’ve been bad to myself. Get diagnosed and stay on a gluten free life style.
Who else is bloated and sick and also itching. And I’m sick all the time and anxious over it.
I think I have a gluten issue. Every time I eat breads I take shits like no elses business! Stomach cramps and weird shits.
I have all of these things but I’m pretty sure ADHD is not part of celiac disease
I make it on Social Security. Joined your channel. It makes me happy you all are doing this Iam 62.People eat to much food, and overeat, I can make it with God with me!
I said yes to every single one of these. Ive taken allergy tests before but they were just the topical test with all the tiny needles. Im sure it didnt test for gluten but its funny because I didnt start getting hives and gastrointestinal issues until i was around 13-14 so during puberty. My husband and i have done alot of research and we are almost positive its gluten. My grandma also has ciliac so thats probably a key factor. Ill be calling my doctor. Can anyone with ciliac tell me what life is like with it and what life was like before finding out? Like how old were you when you found out and how did you feel after getting off of it?
Top tip here for my fellow friends who are sensitive intolerant to gluten.
Just keep in mind the word BROW and you will automatically be able to recall the food sources that contain gluten. Here it comes.
B.R.O.W.
Barley
Rye
Oat
Wheat
Also.
Usually, when I buy food, I carefully see the ingredients label. The words marked as bold, are the milk products and allergens.
You welcome
I thought I had bed bugs but I am allergic to gluten
Thank God
i have all of these symptoms (except bad teeth) so i’m pretty sure i’m sensitive to gluten, but i also get these nessle-like rashes on my arms after i eat something but i have no idea why.. does anyone know what i could be allergic to…
Gluten intolerance does not mean Celiac. All Celiacs are gluten intolent, because they intolerant to all types of gluten. These types of gluten are wheat, rice, corn barley rye etc. However some people are only intolerant to wheat, but are not celiac. I am intolerant to wheat and corn but not other types. I was tested negative for Celiac. Everything mentioned in video ticks the boxes so I avoid gluten.
Thku fior your information. I make up meals with what I have. I learned something today. Thks again Gb
JESUS!! And I thought I had a learning disorder, after 43 yrs its all down to to this.
I cut out all gluten products only 1 week ago… (including a lot of sauces and stuff, a lot of Asian dish sauces have wheat in them)….and so far i’ve noticed my bloating has gone WAY down and my energy levels have gone WAY up. I used to think it was normal being tired all the time and taking a nap every day…..now I dont think its normal! I’m excited to see what another few weeks does for me. If I continue to feel better and better then I will permanently cut it out.
blackberries at fifty cents, you could also make a jar of jam!
I said yes to every single one except the skin one! I’m going to get a blood test Monday!
i don’t understand how some people can say gluten is harmless. just because you don’t have issues with it doesn’t mean others don’t. i mean there’s actually a whole disease for it. celiac)
Video was wrong after the first sentence. Celiac and Imtolerance are two completely different animals.
Lil by lil i kept getting sicker an sicker always swollen felt uncomfortble in my skin ichy i have a lot of sever joint damage to the point i was in a wheel chair thew disney world 4 yrs ago n bruising then it started almost every day vomiting.heart burn constapation i stoped gluten i lost weight it just droped off. i eat what i want.i excercie,i dance now i feel so good no stumoch isues im so relived n for me it worked plus. to be honest most gluten free fooDs taste so much better. For me was the best thing i ever did for my self 2 yrs ago i couldnt tell you what a gluten was lol now that devil can die a another thing i notice is when i eat i am satified before being full before i always felt my body was missing something id shake alot felt like shit more days then not depression because i had no energy a lot of docs dont even know to test because the symtoms are so vase n when you cant absorb your vitimin ect your body keeps craving food to get the nutrients it thinks its hungry when in fact just not absorbing.
There is a test for gluTEN intolerance!! Go to your N D and take the hormone/saliva test. IT also tests for GLUTEN intolerance. Quit being stupid. Don’t believe the hype that there is no test for gluten intolerance.
I’m coeliac. It’s an autoimmune disease NOT an intolerance. Just stating a few more points ; Immune system thinks the gluten is poison so tells the small intestines “absorbing fingers” to inflame to protect you from absorbing this “poison”… Diet excluding gluten wheat barley rye cereals and oats, advised against caffeine… Caffeine irritates IBS symptoms… Vit D and Iron deficiency… cognitive neurology like mood swings bad concentration depression fatigue bad memory insomnia… Labeled a “naughty child”… Gut related issues can be linked to the brain and brain disorders like autism… Enlarged pupils blurred vision, night sweats, being “clumsy”… Problems with verruca indicate lowered immune system too… Difficulty adjusting to changes in temperature, nausea sickness, food coming back up, being under weight or fluctuating weight because body goes into shock… Long term damage can be caused to the colon if ignored.
From what i understand gluten intolerance is NOT the same as celiac diesease. Because gluten intolerance will not show up in a blood test like celiacs disease yet you suffer the same effects.
“this looks like utah salt flats” -_no it doesnt well the texture but its color yaaaa no

This was very helpful. Great ideas. Thanks. I really think you have changed our lives with your book, advice and talking about portion control. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that before!
After the kids leave home i switched out all my pots n pans for small pots n pans. I just cook what ill eat because i dont like eating the sam stuff after the third day of leftovers. I eat two meals a day and im good the rest of the day.
Any body have suggestions of gluten free sugar free frugal cookbooks
I loved your show on this topic! I was busy with the children and couldn’t make it, but watched with the husband a couple of days ago. I can’t have any corn or gluten and keep most of it out of my house. We’ve always been informed that there is no such thing as gluten free barley, but it seemed that your information conflicted with this. Is there a new development on that front? We miss barley soups very much and make due with gluten free steel cut oats. They’re much more like barley than the quinoa when we just gotta have a hearty soup! Thanks for the great showI loved hearing my husband repeat after Tawra, “Learn to cook!” multiple times. You guys are great❤
Been on vacation. Catching up. Halfway through this. Great video post. Lots of good info.
Bagels are my gluten nightmare. OMG. Great video, thank you for your hard work. Pretty sure you and I share the same DNA, lol. P.S. Goat products dont affect me like cow.
Love the show! Common sense is all you really need. Casein is the protein in milk that you were thinking of. Lactose is the sugar in milk that a lot of people have problems with. I started keto diet and my symptoms improved but did not go away.I did a Low FODMAP elimination diet (recommended by my doctor)(already knew gluten and lactose were not my problem). When I did this elimination diet I found that I don’t digest the sugars in a lot of fruits and vegetables well. #GI problems(enough said).
Great video! I like these type videos as well as the cooking videos. Thanks for everything!
google gluten free bread that doesn’t suck and look for Jillee she has a fantastic flour mixture and it makes great bread and you can have real sandwiches for the first three days (then slice and freeze the bread) and pancakes. FYI they put flour in licorice and bounty bars are not GF.
When you say gluten makes you sick what exactly does it do to you? How does it make you feel? I get very weak, lethargic, my eyes and nose sometimes itch, I get depressed and irritable. Sometimes I get sweaty too. I am not celiac but definitely sensitive. Do you feel the same way after eating it?
check out Our Half Acre Homestead on you tube. She just did a cheesy sauce that is GF and dairy free and she said even her adult son liked the taste and texture. It is made with potato and carrot and spices. I know when I first went GF I tried to make GF baking items and they were so bad but things have improved. Just imagine GF pasta with “cheese sauce”….
I think I would blow your minds if I gave you my address if I wanted to buy a book. I’d love to hear you try and pronounce the names of the towns/road. ♥️
Use a portobello cap for your pizza base, brush both sides with olive oil put your ingredients as you would a pizza and use vegan cheese. Daiya brand has a good mozzarella, Shredded and it can be frozen.
You guys knocked it out of the park on this one. My daughter just became dairy intolerant this year, and the more I learn about it, the better. Thank you!
I am gluten intolerant also. I think many suffer and don’t know they do. It causes inflammation and headaches for me. Makes me extremely puffy and bloated etc. once I went gluten free it looked like I lost 40lbs when I actually only lost 10lbs. Your mom and son may not think that the are gluten intolerant but I suggest they try being gluten intolerant, they may get some relief from doing so. Most people with auto immune disease benefit from being gluten intolerant as it causes in reduces inflammation. It takes 6 months to completely rid your body of gluten. Also gluten intolerance is accumulative, meaning if you eat bread once you may not notice a problem like celiacs do. The more you eat it the worse it gets.
I’m so glad you did this video. I have been diagnosed with a gluten sensitivity and have been doing the GF diet for about three and a half months now. I’ve been wanting to buy your cook book but wasn’t sure if I should because of having to eat GF. I’m still learning about all this GF stuff. Now I know I can go ahead and buy the book.
Celiac here! I enjoyed this show and i appreciated your emphasis that celiac and gf sensitivity have different parameters! So many people don’t understand that!
There’s thought that the gluten intolerant/leaky gut CAUSES autoimmune disease.
also our Walmart recently started carrying Gluten free cream of mushroom soup
Thank you so much! Love this video and you’re so sweet.
I just feel like I really need to tell you something. You are absolutely loved beyond any human capacity. Jesus Christ loves YOU and wants to know you. I care about your eternity and He wants you to repent. A lot of people have been deceived by the devil to think that sin is no longer serious and that all we need is to believe in God but even the demons believe in Jesus but yet they’re not saved… It is written that a friend of the world is an enemy of God. ” Let God be true and every man a liar”, most preachers are not preaching the truth that sin leads to eternal torment in a very real place called hell. There are too many people deceived into thinking that once you’ve said a prayer, you’re saved even if you continue living the same sinful life. God hates sin and it’s never stopped being serious. Sin leads to hell and I’d never want you to be deceived thinking that your good works of being a ‘good person’ will save you. We need Jesus, without Him, our good works are as Filthy rags according to the Bible.
Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart and is waiting on you to open to Him and believe that He is the only begotten Son of God. God is not willing that any should perish but all come to repentance. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by Him. May God bless you and may you seek Him and truly repent and sin no more to become true children of God. Have a beautiful day ☺️
You are soooooooo right about gluten free bread. Yuck!!! You do have to toast it. I don’t eat it because I don’t care for it. Not sure about Cheerios if you have celiac.
Another vote for your blouse. Love it!! I have celiac disease. Thanks for this video.
I cant wait to get your book. I dont know what your Pasty recipe is but if the crust is a pie crust type crust the Pilsbury Gluten Free Flour works great!
Soy sauce is not gluten free. Braggs makes a liquid amino that is gluten free and very tasty . True, anytime a sauce is thickened be wary.
Loved the show! looking good Tawra in that top! yes gluten free isnt that hard and I use buckwheat flour a lot to make my own flat bread which is quick and easy. I use brown rice flour to make cookies which are nice and crisp. Dairy free too so must try the flax milk and the ghee! Thanks guys!
You have to watch out with mayo. I’m dairy free and can’t digest mayo.
Your apple butter and a spice cake mix would be wonderful. I also shred apples into them.
Yes rice rispies have malt and malt is gluten based. But many celiacs can not have cherrios. Bht addative causes issues.
Kind of a dick about. Like saying people with gluten issues are a bunch of pussys. You know I had this issue for years and didnt know. Now that it is extremely bad I know. So for years I was tolerating gluten even tho it was hurting me. And it really sucks cause so much shit has gluten. For you to come and make fun of people with this issue? If that’s how you want to give information just dont even bother. Cause I can assure you this shit sucks. And I handled it for years! Only now it could be deadly and it is for some people
Wow you did a great job of researching and sharing. Thank you
Im very good at tasting the difference.. hate that i knowbthe difference cause im a celiac
What is gluten free food like in America?? I love the gluten free food here in England. And are McDonald’s burgers gluten free without the bun cause that’s what I always have ( ours are 100% beef, they can’t lie and say that cause they would be sued millions ) and it is delicious.
If I look hard enough, maybe I can see the gluten
People gluten is a protein that u NEED don’t go the gluten free diet if you don’t have celiac disease
That’s not the point of gluten free!!!!!!!! People who medically shouldn’t eat gluten shouldn’t have to be able to tell the difference. Others should just be decent humans and serve gluten free foods when asked for it.
I just bought your cookboo (print copy), and e-book extravaganza tonight!!!
Earlier this evening, I came across your channel and everything you have spoken about, seemed as if you knew me personally!
I have been partially disabled for almost 3 years, and barely survive on health benefits through my work. After being a victim of $20,000.00 in Bank Fraud, I am not only drowning in debt, but struggling so hard to make ends meet.
I decided to order your books, to help teach myself better ways of shopping and eating.
I am not a spender, I am not frivolous, I rarely wear makeup, and I don’t spend on nails. I rarely get my hair coloured (it’s been 8 months I think) to cover premature gray.
I think your books are going to be an investment well made, and I cannot wait to read them all!!!
Thank you both, so very much in advance.

When people who dont understand what Gluten is and what it does try to tell the difference between gluten and gluten free items
Give ppl gluten and gluten-free and don’t tell them that they r gluten-free or anything and ask them which food is better.
I’m allergic to gluten. Don’t say that I don’t like gluten-free.
Alison and Garrett seem like siblings to me maybe it’s since he’s going out with Gabby and she and Alison are besties LOL!
I’m starting to think most of my health problems are due to how much gluten I eat

Now if only people would make gluten AND egg free foods and I’d have all my allergies covered. (Or at least the ones that will definitely kill me)
i gotta be gluten free or else my stomach feels like its gonna explode.
As a celiac I can tell you that eating gluten-free is much harder than just “staying away from bread”. There’s gluten in some gums, soy sauce, mayo, shampoo, and even toothpaste. Not to mention, it is sometimes disguised on nutrition labels as food additives. It would be much easier if all companies put gluten free on their labels so that we celiacs can avoid possible cross-contamination.
My mom always says if you have milk bread, butter and eggs even if you don’t have any thing elese the house to eat, that is a meal. Mom always caned the garden food sowe never ever went Hungr.Dad always had a garden so we always had food to eat mom caned a lot. To save money cut down the caust of going to the store as much.so
, we were always Thankful for what we had.Thank you and have a fantastic day And God Bless you.sorry my tab won’t let me fix it.
Yes there is a vast array of gluten-free choices now. Most name-brand grain-based products have a GF option now. These work fine for those of us with gluten-insensitivity but for someone with Celiac’s, extra precaution must be taken. A lot of GF products are made on assembly lines that also create products with gluten so cross-contamination is an issue. Of the GF products, I notice a difference in both flavor and texture. Texture most decidedly as few grains duplicate that lovely elasticity of wheat. After nearly six years I don’t feel my diet lacks in anything, but there are times I will miss wheat or rye.
I’ve been coeliac since December 2013 and I can’t remember what non gluten free things taste like
Next video: can you tell how this egg is cooked? this is sad
If you are not gluten intolerant cutting gluten out of your diet will do nothing. You will not be healthier, you will not see any changes, because unless you have an issue with gluten, there is no reason to not eat it. You are just making things more difficult.
i have coeliacs disease and habe had it since i was 2. i have no idea what gluten food tastes like and i probably will never. being gluten free has limited my trust in people making me food and i think it is part of the reson i suffer from anxiety. i dont think it is a good idea that people should go on a gluten free diet bc lots of people have no choice and will get ill when people just do it by choice… but people can do what they want. so yeah…
I have celiac, and apart from not being able to have gluten, i have to cut dairy, sugar, and grains out as well, as most Celiacs do, at least for dairy.
I am allergic to wheat and gluten free stuff to me is sooo gross!
Yeah doctors don’t just tell you that your gluten free. They do a blood test, then an endoscopy.
If anyone was wondering, gluten is the protein in wheat. The more you know!
Though there are days where i wish i could eat gluten again i actually dont mind being celiac anymore…i have found lots of new food which i love that i never knew existed before being diagnosed. I feel better and happier then i used to…can i just say the apricot flavor resealable petits filous yogurts are the best!
my best friend has celiac’s so I could tell which was which just by sight lol
You know, I’ve had Celiac for a long time and I can confirm that I have forgotten what regular pancakes taste like.
Mest & veggies I personally dont need much more than that, fir just me,I always have10 pounds if flour( white& wheat plus sugar in my freezer that provides bread& desserts, cake cookies,.I prefer these all homemade, less chemicals if I pmake it myself
one time i had this AMAZING gluten free chocolate cake man it was great
See, i was born a gluten and barely intolerent and i’ve grown to hate the taste of it, same goes for dairy and lactose.
i honeslty don’t know if i’m gluten intolerant. my whole whole i was fine with gluten but when i turned 16 started to have excess gas in my stomach and sometimes to the point where it hurts. also, a couple minutes after i ate a bunch of rice, my stomach became really hard?!!! it’s having me worried. but if i tell my parents they wouldn’t understand what gluten free means!
If you have Ciliac disease then you really need Gluten-free food. If you are not then it wouldn’t affect you at all and it is also not healthier for you.
why does people think gluten free food is disgusting i tricked my friends with gluten free food they think its was normal food and yes they was realy suprised when they got tricked
I’m gluten free because I’m allergic to it. It makes me really sick so I basically can’t eat like a thing so I went vegan.
What kind of gluten free bread do you eat with eggs for breakfast Tawra?
I’m gluten free, almost died
* thinks of the memories when rushed in hospital *
to everyone else with celiacdo you get kind of mad too when people without celiac or wheat allergies go gluten free as a trend? everyone out there who can have it should treasure that. you’re all degrading the needs of people who absolutely cannot ingest gluten for the sake of their health just to follow a magazine trend. it cured your eczema or fatigue? great. show me your blood work and biopsy results. it’s all placebo, I tell ya
Gluten products taste no different than something that is Gluten Free. Because a product is made with a different ingredient it will naturally taste different. The problem occurs when someone is either Intolerant to a food or the food Allergic to it. Gluten is tasteless and only becomes active when liquid is added to it.
Coeliac / Celiac Disease is when someone can not eat Gluten based products which are found in Wheat, Rye and Barley as well as other grains. Gluten Free is not a lifestyle choice for those of us that can not eat Gluten containing foods, it is a way of life.
I’m vegan and even I struggle to keep gluten out of my diet unless I go fully raw. I’ve not found good gluten free bread. Bread is my lover. It’s easier to cut out bread entirely than to eat gluten free bread.
2:23 that guy saying he wouldn’t have a prob eating gluten free u don’t know what ur talking about lol it makes me pissed!
“been looking for a placebo effect to fix my life for years” I love Allison
y’all here like talking about gluten free diets, some diseases and I’m here like, wtf is gluten
Ive been celiac since i was 3 years and it sucked as a toddler because i could have almost no good tasting flour product. But now it is SO MUCH better, heck some gluten free foods taste better than actuall gluten food (according to my parents)
what is the guy with the red t-shirt’s name? he’s so attractive.
Gluten free pancakes are so gross!!! My little cousin is gluten free and we went to there house and everything they had was gluten free, but not all gluten free stuff is gross
I live in Portland, OR and the gluten-free fad for those not allergic is not slowing down. Those folks are silly because I’ve tried several gluten-free meals and I’m not impressed. The food is not healthier so just stop your shenanigans.
I have been gluten intolerant for over two years and can honestly say:
I don’t miss gluten at all. I much prefer the gluten free food. It got me to like chocolate cake!
This gluten-free craze is kind of a double-edged sword. On one hand there are more products available for people who suffer from celiac disease, but on the other many of those products are not produced up to the standard that would be required for them to be safe for those people.
these trends of not eating gluten or lactose are good for adding variety to the market for people who really need food that are free of these allergens
Just subscribed. Loving all the Great info. Much LOVE from Georgia
if they dont know what it is how will they tell what to look for?
I recently found out I am gluten intolerant I feel annoying already and it’s already been one week. I’ve only been eating gluten free pizza and macarons mostly….and yogurt.
I am quite knowledgeable about LC-MS/MS and would be interested in discussing this further in relation to this project.
This is Great! Really appreciate you putting something out there about this. I’ll be doing a one-hour seminar on gluten-free homebrewing at National Homebrew Convention this summer in Portland, ORand I’m curious if I might be able to get one or two of your slides from this for my introduction into the urgency of using all gluten-free ingredients.
Hope to talk with you soon!
I’m Howard Mooon my mead has no time for your gluten allergy
So..im interested in competitive mead making. What do the pros use? I’m assuming all the best of the best ingredients? And what’s the best honey and best yeast?? Thank you! Oh… Also…how do I find out where these competitions are? I live in Maine. Thanks!!! Shit…lol also…what equipment do the pros use?? All glass?? I’m keeping this personal, not commercial. Just wanna see if I can win a couple ribbons or something. Thanks again!
My husband and I were beside ourselves with “The Mighty Boosh” reference.
❤️ Eat Better Spend Less! ❤️Dining On A Dime Cookbook https://www.livingonadime.com/store/
When I had 4 children at home, I used to buy bread at the thrift bakery. That is where they take the expired date bread and sell them. They may be a day or 2 expired. I used to go to the grocery store early when they mark down their meats and I also would get eggs and other veggies marked down.
Tawra looks calm, grounded and pretty.
Does Jill take calcium, multivitamins, probiotic, vitamins D3, B complex, any supplements or herbs..?
I love milk.
How many hours does she sleep at night.? She is slender and pretty.
I agree that we make food our God. We are too afraid to be sick.
Can both of you make more videos talking about God? I love to hear about God’s wisdom, grace, his Love for us.
I try to eat healthy because when I eat processed food, I can feel the bad effects it cause to my mind and my body. But sometimes, I…cheat and eat whatever I want.
Thank you.
People told me it was all in my head until I got my DNA tested. Deep dish pizza and donuts make me really sick
I could do fourteen dollars a week now..but you gotta do some figuring…and go to the dollar stores…and also check out the markets that have a lot of produce for cheap. Example: here in Los Angeles they got Superior Markets chain stores that have awesome prices in produce.
I have celiac disease for the past 11 yrs, l have these symptoms every day * kind of*
We’ve made a God out of food! Hallelujah thank God someone said it! Sometimes we only say that when we think people are eating unhealthy, but let me tell you these so called healthy eaters are out of control with this food policing. I really enjoy your videos.
Russians eat double the quantity of wheat gluten than people in North America do, but Russians don’t have any issue with gluten, the reason is Russia bans the use of glyphosate, a pesticide under the brand name Round Up made by Monsanto, the American corporation leading in GMO foods, the harmful chemical is used in growing wheat in North America. People are not allergic to gluten they are allergic to glyphosate.
I just about had a heart attack $4.00 for A avocado in central California, high hispanic population,
I canusually get a couple if avocados ( size will vary for $4 ir kess deoends in tine of year!
I let you know a while ago I don’t waste anythinig. I have lost my job and your ideas have helped. I gardened with vegetables, some fruit and make everything from scrath. Your ideas are helping me. I never go to grocery store until their best sales. Shoping about every 6 weeks during pandemic. Getting milk from family and friends dropping off. Tried to let friends know about stocking up before pandemic they touhgt I was fooling. One friend is so over whelm. What can I do for her she doesn’t cook and even talking to her is to much for her but I want to help her?..I have baked bread, ( from yeast that expired 2017) given to those who need, and I help my family by bringing eggs and extras… keeps giving ideas….
just found your channel! Love it.. and I so appreciate the comment about making food our God… that is so true! My hubby is a heart patient but we are also on a budget.. so we do the best we can… we leave the rest to the good Lord:) God bless you both.
Cleaned out my fridge today found stuff that we bought this week at 3x’s the pricehad we checked we wouldn’t have purchasedI used to keep fridge and pantry inventories.Hopefully this chaos will change some bad or frivolous habits
my youngest son has cp and other issues. he gets disability. i became disabled in 2016. we are a family of 4 and live on the 1500 plus 250 in food stamps. it can and is done by lots of us. several of my meds are not covered by insurance. ppl freak when they find out we only live on that. it takes the work of all of us. but we live comfortably.
Does your mother have a vlog of her own? Would love watch her, as i am older also.
A note on dehydrating foods…you can purchace frozen veggies and fruits on sale and dehydrate them. Some leftovers can be dehydrated. Home grown herbs can be dehydrated. Cheese can be dehydrated and used in mac n cheese. Soured milk can be made into Panera cheese…cottage cheese…yogurt. Leftover veggie scraps can be frozen and used in end of the week soup or dehydrated. I purchased a hand freshfood food saver. I asked for the jar attachments for Christmas….i got 3 sets of jar attachments. Now i can dehydrate food…seal it and put it in the pantry. The dehydrated food will last up to 10 years. Instead of canning this year im dehydrating most of my food. I didnt even notice an increase in my electric bill when i had 3 dehydrators going 24/7. GREAT WAY TO PRESERVE FOOD.
Ghee is not dairy free. Lactose intolerant folks can use it. Are you lactose intolerant or completely dairy free? Oh, I’m dairy free and use potato flakes as a thickener, especially for potato soup
I am a single mom of a 12 yr old and I need to know how I can stretch with what I get each month. I get $180 in food stamps and I get money from the VA because of my late husband of serving in the military. After I pay my household bills it leaves me about $100 a month for things that are non food items. How do I stretch all that out for an entire month. That’s been my biggest concern.
I know this is an older video, but I love when your mom is on with you. Any new podcast episodes coming out? LOVE the podcast!
It’s crazy am pescatarian and my budget for food is $80 a month nothing more. I can’t understand how some spend 400 a month on food it’s mind blowing
I think this really depends where you live. Where I live and the surrounding I would say 45 miles a gallon of milk is about $6 or just under that. If I spend 250 just 399 for a loaf of bread I’ve considered it a good deal. So, maybe out in the midwest or some place your prices are a lot more reduced this could be possible but even a small bag of rice here is $3.50
This is radically positive, both economically and environmentally. If I did this, I would no longer be a wage-slave.
I like your mom.
My great grandma useto do that.
She was healthy
I just love your Mom!! ❤️ She has given me such inspiration to save money. I live on Disability as well.
I love you girls you are sooo funny I love your videos been so helpful thank you much God bless you two!!
do you have an extra little freezer or just the one on your fridge? My gramma had a little one in her bedroom. now that I am alone I have been wondering what to do.
A lot of the time companies replace the gluten with more things like sugar to make it taste better. Gluten-free food isn’t healthier unless you are allergic to it.
One thing I do is I call manufacturers and ask them to send me coupons and I used them to get things I usually cannot afford
Good point about not stressing about food. With the way the crops are looking in the midwest, we may have some scarcity very soon with wheat, corn, and other vegetables. However, we cannto sit and worry that we don’t have enough food. The Bible clearly states that we are to ask for provision day by day. That’s not to say we just sit back and don’t try to work to earn money to get stuff (for those that can work). My hubby has been worrying about that, but one of the elders in the church told him that he trusts the Lord for provision, so he doesn’t worry about those things.
I think we have a lot of people waiting with their hand out for someone else to provide for them. (And I’m NOT saying this is Tawra or Jill). We are getting help with food right now because my pay is low and hubby is going back to school. But we both worked full time for a long time, so I’m not going to turn away help that we need. But I am working to the best of my ability to do my part. If your part is to keep the house running on a tight budget, that’s a full job right there. If you have to work and your spouse stays home with the kids, that’s cool too. We just do what we have to do to make it.
I for one am SO GRATEFUL for dining on a dime and the cookbook to help me save $. And that savings goes to help pay for diapers, new shoes for growing feet, and school supplies for hubby going back to school.
At that rate of money coming in, she is eligible for so many things for low-income seniors (you can own your own home and still quality). I hope she is accessing the programs that offer lower phone, utility costs, and the SNAP program for seniors. She has worked hard her whole life, and she should take advantage of these programs, because she has paid into them.
I was diagnosed with celiac disease and I am 11I think it was like about two years ago and I was wondering if anybody else in the comments knows about this place called edge of sweetness they have these gluten-free brownies it’s in Chicago Illinois but these gluten-free brownies are so good
I found your series refreshing as on my Youtube sidebar are videos of grocery halls and mothers with many children making massive freezer meals. The focus is on consumption and the day/life does not have to focus on feeding the children. Portions are also large, the food is often not healthy, its readily available and the kids and parents often are not ideal weights. There are even those who overbuy/consume using coupons and sale items stockpiling.
So I appreciate your videos because we do not need to consume more than we NEED, which is not much. We do not have to center our day on food for ourselves or our children. We have adopted an eat when your hungry way of life along with an Islamic approach such as 1/3 of the stomach for food. 1/3 for water and 1/3 for air as well as religious fasting abstaining from drink or food etc from sunrise to sunset certain days of the week/month which reminds us how little we need to live and be well. Our children are now grown.
I am happy to see mom with her pot pies, marshmallows for her grandson, cookies and cup of tea or coffee at this time of her life. She made her sacrifices for her children until they grew up. I saw an organic label on those blackberries too.
I just can’t see this. I am still trying to figure out how to get 6 meals from a whole chicken. I have 5 people, and I just don’t get it. We already only eat one meal a day, because of the prices, so this seems like overkill to me. I’m gonna research a better way. There has to be one that will allow my family to eat more than once a day and not cost an arm and a leg. I think bulk and cooking for freezer meals will suit our family better. If this works for you, then yay. Keep going. Just not for us.
Wow back berry 50cent we never have it for that price but i always buys in special
I love Banquet Pot Pies Wrap the end of the bunch of bananas with foil and they will last longer.
I am trying to save up £1200 as soon as physically possible, for upfront fees on a rental house. The house is nearly perfect for me so I am trying my best to make it happen. I have been implementing your tips for groceries, I went through all my direct debits and cancelled all unnecessary things. I got an email from my gas and electric provider and because my usage has been so low this quarter, they have lowered my direct debit is being lowered from £73pcm to £26pcm. I do have a request from you guys. Would you do more videos on stockpiling or emergency supplies storing whilst on a budget? I have just been getting stuff I find that are cheap or on a deal but I don’t really know what to get or how much of it to get.
Very attractive ladies. Very kind and nice people. God love yas.
My mom raised a house full and the last 3 of us by herself on a cleaning lady’s $5/hour paycheck in the 80s.
She could Stretch a dollar further than anyone I know. She kept all of our clothes nice and we wore hand me downs and Goodwill clothes. She never ever bought new. God Bless her, she has been gone since ‘13, but you couldn’t find a family more grateful to God for the gift of our mother. We never went hungry, never wore rags and she never let on how hard it was for her, but she leaned hard on the Lord. He never left her or gave up on her!
PS: finally free at 26years of age and eating whatever I want (including alllll food groups) and I feel no worse if not BETTER than ever…
Plus I’m HAPPY now…
TYSM for saying ‘Diets can heal’ our arthritis: I’m BEYOND my patience thresholds of intrusive ignorant comments like that…
I almost died and had to fight everyone around me to get weight restoredmonths in the hospital in critical care… tysm tysm tysm
Wow…I live in New England….milk is 2.79 on 1.99 on sale….bread on sale 1.29.normally 2.99…eggs are 2.69 on sale.99… Condensed milk 2.29….same for evaporated milk…banquet pies are.99 cents on sale….burritos are cheaper than pot pies…black berries are 2.99….such a huge difference in prices….bananas are 69 cents a lb….ty for sharing your lucky to be able to buy so cheap….
I usually don’t meal plan either I just use what’s in my cabinets
I paid 5.00 dollars for a dehydrator from a yard sale.Still in box. Iam go try drying bell peppers, celery, and other foods
I like pot pies but there isn’t enough in them and they are full of salt and fat. I make mine put them in freezer.Same with lasagna. I also make and freeze soup. Can soup taste awful and is expensive.
I’ve realized in my job working with seniors….I dont need to eat much…we eat way to much.. unless you have a job that’s strenuous…2 or three small meals will do the trick! I generally only need 1200 to 1300 calories a day to feel good and work… and that’s about $25 a week for me!
I have all of them except the skin and bad teeth one…and today my abdomen was hurting so bad after I ate..
Lmao at Allison. She is hilarious but why really would you want a placebo to change your life.. In other words, she wants to have to alter her life in whatever way where realistically altering her life does nothing because by definition it is placebo, but maybe she thinks it will do something. I’d rather the opposite… I’d rather not have to change my life in any way and have that actually work in a way that isn’t just in my head Lmao. Changing my life so that it does nothing other than trick me into thinking it does something sounds awful
There I was thinking I was just cursed with a weak stomach and Terrible finger nails
sometimes I think a great way to save money is to purchase a large bag of rice and assorted veggies and fruits….I also buy frozen veg and fruit when on sale. In NJ last week, I saw a container of organic blueberries for $9.99…..simply not affordable.
I also have fm/cfids and going gluten and dairy free and wiped out my deep ache background pain is GONE. Rice, lettuce and onions all flare my OA
Hi from England i loved waching you vido please can you make some moor
I like how Kroger(and Meijer) give you coupons based on your purchases. I buy most of my stuff on sale and stock my pantry like you do. I keep things we eat and make the main meals we eat. I’m not good at meal planning, but shop from my pantry. I just had coupons for free Dawn and poptarts. (I bought them on a 99c for up to 5, now I get the occasional coupon). Had a 40c coupon for 18ct eggs, and they are on sale 88c. Also $1 off natural foods, got a packs of oatmeal for 49c. (It was even cheaper than store brand before coupon.)
Great video as always. I pantry cook as well and never eat out I refuse to. I am living on disability and I am a empty nester now so I live alone. I make 1 casserole or crock pot meal etc a week and eat that. I too shop at Kroger and know ALL the clearance spots and it’s true if it is not on sale I will not buy it. I also have an emergency stash. I live about 25-30 min from Galvenston island, Texas and hurricanes are common.
THANK YOU! For at least mentioning your emergency stock pile! That was a big question of mine for you guys!
At least now with all these people who eat gluten-free for no real reason, companies are making much tastier gluten-free foods; which is great for people like me with Celiac Disease, I had to live trough the cardboard tasting nightmare-hell of 2007
At Superior Markets chain here in Los Angeles you can get bunches of bananas for cheap.. you can get tomatoes sometimes four for a dollar…. oranges and apples…too. you can weigh them to see what you get…and then this market has containers of beans..rice… grains that you can scoop out with a scooper and measure them and put them in a bag and at the cash register they will tell you how much. That helps on savings and portion sizes. At the dollar store like dollar tree I would get the canned fruit…in its own juices…and I would get the soup..( because at home I would add canned potatoes to the soup) or I would buy a bag of potatoes at another nearby market. I get my seasonings from dollar tree because of my budgeting. And then sometimes I ask myself…what do I really need..or can I omit something to stretch things. And I can get pancake mix at the dollar tree to use in recipes when I got no flour. Yeah..I think even these days fourteen dollars a week can be doable..depends on what you need. I enjoy your videos I still learn a lot from you.
$4 for an avocado??? I get 3 for $1 at our local Lucky’s Market.
hahaha! Always good to start with a blooper!:) Great information and for some reason you made me hungry. I am semi retired and I shop as I need to sometimes there is nothing in the cabinets and I know it’s time to shop. Of course when I shop I want to make sure that my items can be used for several types of meals. Thanks for sharing this useful information.
You are very healthy eating your diet. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Just ignore the criticism.
This was a very good video! Many of us have an extremely low income, in comparison to others. I know a lot of folks will balk or have a low opinion of pot pies and maybe eating a lot of rice or pasta. Well, try going hungry for a few days, that might change your opinion!! I live alone, am 70 yrs old, worked jobs in the past for not a lot of money, benefits taken away by employers and am on SS. When push comes to shove… you do what you can and have to and the same goes for groceries. You do what you can, you do what you have to and I’m pleased to see you post this video!! Oh… I make my own bread, even sourdough, so that saves money as well. Subscribed.
I appreciate you ladies ( and guys!) so much. No one says these logical things like Jill is saying about eating.
There is such a TSUNAMI of “healthy eating”, especially on the internet, one could lose their minds and wallet!!!!!
I believe it is SO out of hand.
The funny thing is, we were watching Starsky and Hutch (the real ones, you know), and Starsky was always teasing Hutch about his healthy eating! Never noticed it before now.
The punch line is though, Hutch is always picking and eating Starskys “junk” food!!!
God bless you and yours.
My doctors, because of my complicated mental & physical health, have been told to stay on a Vegan plan. I’m 60 & on Social Security Disability. I struggle with food & household goods. Any advice? Thanks.
Thank you. You are straight forward and for real. I need to make it on SS. Gonna find a way. When you get older, you aren’t as hungry and you just don’t eat as much. Not normally. I’ve heard that 50 percent of the American people are 50 or older. Seems like I see just that.
What a blessing you all are. GosD bless you ladies. So sweet of you to take the time to do these videos.
Thanks for sharing!
{{{ HUGGZ }}} from N E Ohio
I’m living on Social Security myself & I try to learn something new each & every day. I have MS/Multiple Sclerosis so I do have to eat as nutritiously as I can afford to. Yes, I agree… it can be done. Looking forward to maybe “binge” watching some of your videos tonight if I can’t sleep. Lately, Aldi’s has had Avocado’s for 49 cents each! Unfortunately I’m unable to drive so it’s rare for me to shop there. I can’t picture spending $4.00 on an Avocado unless it was gold! Bless you both. Su
Yes! I go to food banks and pinch where I can. I utilized what I had on hand.
Ground beef, hamburger helper mixed in some frozen peas. Pork & beans and cream corn. My oop for my husband and son to eat was $1.00.:) Kroger. On sale. Frozen peas and carrots.:)
Thank you Ladies. Being on a budget, I truly Appreciate Both of You. Thank You.
Very interesting to see what your Mom eats on her $20/wk budget
Guess what my husband and I had for lunch, Turkey Pot Pie! Tasted great, ate with mashed potatoes and cottage cheese. Thanks for advice.
Milk on sale? Wow! We sure don’t get that in Canada (or at least in Quebec). The price of milk is regulated by the state so it cannot be below a certain price (and it’s expensive).
The bpxed milk at dollar tree is good and you can store it away till you open it.
Make them try gluten bread. It’s horribly dry and crumbly and overall doesn’t taste good
I have the Living on a Dime Cookbook. Right now I am trying to use up my freezer items.
I eat how I want, sometimes no meat for months, then today pork loin.
