In a word (or two), probably not. If you’re a beginner, just 30 minutes of moderate activity five days a week could be all it takes for you to reap the many benefits of exercise, according to the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services).

I work out almost every day. I don’t feel right if I miss one. It’s just a lifestyle for me. I vary the workouts among strength training, cardio, and boxing/kickboxing. On an easy day, such as today, I will use the elliptical machine.
I suggest to most people to keep a balanced diet -drink water before and after exercising and if you go to the gym hit the gym at least 4 to 3 times a week and at least workout for 1 hour

My New Year’s resolution was to get more exercise so I started to do a brisk walk everyday and now I’m up to 5-6 miles a day. I listen to music while I walk and I use a fitbit to track steps, distance and my heart rate. I’m so used to doing it now that I’ve started to look forward to it and it takes me about 90-minutes. I’m noticing my heart rate goes up quickly during the walk and seems to stay quite a bit higher than my resting heart rate for most of the day.

Definitely a 30 or 40 mins for me. I have noticed when I workout, I never burn the high end of calories that Daniel does, I lag behind 30-40 each time. So I go for workouts in which he is burning 400 cals or more.

Diet Plan called Custokebon Secrets kept showing up here on different videos and I thought they were scam. However after my cousin follow it, and finally lost crazy amounts of weight by using it without starving herself. I’m persuaded. Don’t take my own word for it, search for Custokebon Secrets on google.

Yeah, but if you were a total slob like me, and you go from nothing to 15 minutes of HIIT, it gets your heart pumping, which has a lasting effect. There have been scientific studies on this, it’s not pulled out of thin air. I combine about 20 minutes of cardio every other day with weights and stretching. I don’t doubt I could do more, but I certainly feel better, and I’ve lost 40 pounds, although I think that’s more down to vastly reducing my sugar intake, mainly from sugary drinks and “treats”.
I’m not sure if i agree. Its not just calories in calories out, 20 mins of exercise a day plus a healthy diet can speed up your metabolism, which yeah can allow you to lose weight easily! I’ve experienced this first hand!

20 mins of cardio and 40 50 mins of free weights with some body exercises thrown in has served me well.
I started incorporating your 5 minute routines into my morning as an addition to tai chi. After completing all the 5 minute videos I went to 6 minutes and completed all videos. Through this process I’ve increased to 15 minutes and I’ll continue this gradual increase in Fitness Blender time and conditioning. Of course, I still do my tai chi daily. I encourage friends who don’t like working out to start with your 5 minute videos so this becomes part of their daily routine too.

Yeah but I just started working out yesterday and I finished the whole 25 minute workout from one of your total body boot camp workouts. Today i woke up and was so sore and did another workout from fitnessblender but could only finish two rounds… in a beginner so i basically finished 17 minutes of the workout. Its all about nutrition not about exercise. You can lose weight by eating healthy. Working out is just a benefit to your body and will help you lose more weight. You can do 15 minute intense work outs to lose weight. But mostly don’t go over your recommended calories. Which for me is 2000.

I do 20 min strength training workouts 3 times a week in the mornings because I have a toddler who doesn’t let me get anything done lol. But I walk 4 flights of steps at work 6 times, two or three times a day 5 days a week. If I’m not walking the steps, I’m walking laps.

I think it depends on the type of workouts performed within the 15 minute time frame. Everybody’s different so some lose weight and others don’t.

An added aggravation is the fact that most fitness videos or tutorials are peppered generously with nonsense. Most trainers and instructors are full of wool too. Yeah, I do one of your 28 minute HIIT routines 5 mornings a week to maintain during the winter when it’s too cold to ride to work… even then with Christmas and all I tend to gain 5 lbs over the winter that I have to burn off in the spring when the bike rides start again. 15 minutes might be something to do to keep you in the habit of working out, but there’s no way you’re going to lose weight doing even what I’m doing without as strict diet.

I have tried some short 15-20 minute workouts that are so intense I feel I can’t do much more, I have also done some of those 1000 calorie burns 1hr+, where I will feel the same but I never really know what’s right for me!

This was a really good & challenging workout! The modifications were non existent tho. The person doing the modifications was just doing most of the moves normally. There was maybe 3 modifications and the rest was normal. Which I guess to fine since it pushed me to follow the harder moves but I’m sure that makes this workout more difficult for those who need the mods & this is such a good one! Always room for improvement.

Guys. lost crazy amounts of fat doesn’t need to be hard (I used to feel it did). I will give you some tips right now. Get a popular weight loss diet plan called Custokebon Secrets (google it). Thanks to it I have lost crazy amounts of fat. I shouldn’t even be speaking about it cause I do not want a lot of other guys out there running the same game but whatever. I LOVE YOU JEANETTE JENKINS. My endurance has skyrocketed! I am able to last longer with any workout on Popsugar. There are a few trainers who are intense-and I am able to sustain the workout. Cardio-Boxing workouts are my favorite. I have shredded fat, arm fat has shrunk and I feel amazing! Add more workouts, Jeanette!!
I’ve just started working out after years of nothing and I’m loving popsugar fitness videos. Especially ones led by anna and this lady Jeanette Jenkins. I just love the kickboxing and boxing moves. They’re so different to normal aerobics and it gets rid of any pent up emotions. Loving it ladies

I keep coming back to this although I know the tabata drills. Cos it’s downright fun and the comaraderie Raneir, Anna & Dre is amazing. I always end up sweaty (less than The Sweat Factory) and with a giant smile. This is a seriously great workout!

I got your point completely! Whenever I do your 15 minute HIIT workouts, I go for half an hour to 45 mins of walk. Because no matter what, I have to complete an hour of workout daily. 15 minute will do nothing.

Honestly the intensity for the lazy guy like me was quite tough in the initial.Hence i broke into 15mins and 15 mins.In future with my persistance, i believe i can finish it without the break of two!
This is so far my favorite training. The moves are simple to follow. The trainers are humorous and they would talk to you when you feel you cannot hang up there, then I did it. This video is effective too. I can see my body change the next day. Really love this one!

Just want to say I’ve been watching this video since I was 20. It was part of a process of pulling myself out from a tough time and brought me back to my love for fitness. I’m 23 now and still come back to this workout. Also Reinier’s enthusiasm definitely helps during the pandemic!!! Love this video

1:3 or 1:6 ration for each work out takes 1minute to do a set take 3minute 6 minute break in between. So getting 45minute work out is hard i normally have 1hr 1hr and 30mins dependsing on what the day is
It’s basically about the intensity and frequent reps of you’re training that causes you to either lose weight faster or build muscle more. I do 30mins of High Intensity Interval Training every other day for my cardio session and I saw results more faster than when I ran for an hour on the treadmill. My workouts last an hour everyday whether it’s strength training or cardio and I lost 40lbs since the end of March. Intensity > Duration
Sometimes my workout is 20mins, sometimes 40mins, sometimes 1h or more. Really depends what I’m doing.
The gyms are reopening tomorrow and then one I go to your only aloud to workout for 45 mins
Duration of workout is irrelevant. Time under tension is vital.

I usually train for 2.5 to 3 hours,6 days a week and I get crazy size and strength gains.If nutrition and recovery are on point, there is no problem. I can’t imagine doing a heavy chest/back workout in an hour, seriously.

Workouts take me 3 hours using an upper/lower split. Each session has 36 working sets to failure but that covers everything including neck, forarms, calves and abs and about warmups. Each muscle get 6-8 hard sets 1 x 4-7 days.Rest periods are 36 minutes depending on exercise.

Most of my workouts are 90 minutes but I sometimes work out for 150 minutes.
I worked out 2 hours a day and to tell you honestly, it worked out just fine for a couple of months but after that my body gave up and end up being confined in the hospital due to over training. So now, I went back to 45minutes and I am doing great.

I agree,part of the 45 philosophy is the idea that like you said you can’t maintain the place of a 10 minutes CrossFit circuit for an hour, with that in mind that means that over the course of the hour workout youre putting in the same amount of effort but with rest breaking it up-thus eliminating some of the gains that come with that kind of overload and exertion. If you’re able to work out for 2 hours and still go through out your day easy-peasy, was it really a workout? I mean yeah it was but how effective was it? How sore were you the next day (or if youre like me who seem to only get DOMS when I’m sorry from a workout, 2 days after)?
I’m 16 and when I go to the gym I work on the treadmill on 15 incline and 3.7 speed. It takes me 23 mins to get to 300 calories. Then I do a cycle where I do 5 sit ups and pull and tug 110 pounds. And than I go on the elliptical trainer till I count to 100 well 300 total of the rotations 3 times. I do this after school and on days my apartment gym is open. When I get my job I can get a planet fitness card. And I do this cause I’m 215 and I want to lose my weight and gain muscle. Anyways I do my best mon thru Friday 1 hour.
But a normal guy for him gym is a till for better living and have other works to do so he has to follow a rule otherwise he can’t study hard/office and balance his personal life
I’m doing max insanity 30,for 30 mins but.I do 3 times perday.today I did five times.tomorrow i m doing 3 but doing 30 of max insanity follow by a another 30 min light cardio to reach a hour but 3 times a day

Isn’t the quality of your work out a lot more important than the time of your workout session, perhaps 30 minutes of on target quality workout is a lot better than 45 minutes of workout that doesn’t give you a good pump, I don’t know what I’m saying but just saying
Intensive Working out Without timing myself, my body tells me “its enough” between 1hr30 to at most 2hrs. No hard and fast rules!
Does doing a warm up set a before a workout with really light weight count as part of the workout when counting the total time of the workout or do only the working sets count?

if you train naturally without gear, then doing a musclegroup like biceps will take around 40 minutes, or else I’m taking way too much rest periods, for legs or back it’s a different story, 4 exercises on my legs is not quite enough, same for the back, i have to do 3 exercises on my lats alone, then there is like at least 3 more for seperate parts of the back plus romanian deadlifts for lower back
All the people in the comments talking about “i eat whatever i want and I’m still ripped…” That’s probably why you have to be in the gym 2.5 hours! Nobody NEEDS to exercise for 2 hours daily. If 45 minutes is all you can spare in your day, you can make it count.
Yo, i lift for atleast 2 hours pure lifting. It feel amazing! And then my Gym partner keep whining about how we have trained biceps for an hour straight now.. Smh
I’m not an expert but a quick google search suggests the 60 min rule (or whatever) is for body building (muscle size/tone), not for strong man (strength)

so you did a 8 min workout and burnt 100 cals and felt like you burnt 1000 cals. Just means you are unfit in cardio or beyond that heart range.
I think elliot u missed the point, the 45 min rule isnt stating u wont make any gains if you work under or past that time limit, its about optimizing your gains
i’ve been doing workout 3 to 3 hours 30 minutes a day for a month..the only thing that changed a bit is only my chest and my biceps which is so disappointing..i’ve done 90 push-ups,90 squats,100+ sit-ups,back workout,14 km with an bicycle(indoor),calf workout,jog and walk for 8 km in a day for 1 month..i did skipped 2-3 days..can someone tell me what did i do wrong???
You can work out for more than 45 minutes a day easy. I know this because i have done brick work, and built retaining walls by hand/back for 10+ hours a day. But then again I’m not workin out for vainity.

Depends on the person. At 21 I was going 2 hour long HEAVY powerlifting 5-6 times a week… when I was 16 I could only do 2-4 hour and a half sessions a week… it just depends

45 minutes in the gym is nothing; unless you’re doing cardio for 45 minutes.
I do not workout for hours I workout for my muscles. I train two body parts a day big and small muscle. Chest and biceps, back and triceps, legs and shoulders with Small rest period.4 exercises for big and 2 exercises for small muscles.

Yep agree with elliot on this one, depends on what you are doing and what you want to achieve and my rule is that if I am not sweating like a bitch by the end of the work out then it don’t count. My high intensity workouts are about 45 minutes, I try 5 times per week usually in the morning with a professional instructor and my goal is to lose fat while maintain or slightly drop on the muscle mass. We combine high repetition low weight training in synchrony with cardio exercises (burpees,divers, 1 minute sprints etc ). There should be minimum resting period between the exercises so that’s why for me it amounts to exactly 45 minutes and by the end of it you should feel really exhausted. In the past, I used to work out sometimes for 3 hours in the gym doing mostly heavy weights and little cardio at the end, usually 3 times per week but was gaining too much fat together with muscle which did not look quite right.I concluded that for my height (I am short ) and slow metabolism that this routine was not efficient. I am definitely going to stick with the high intensity workouts as I am seeing better results with less time in the gym.However, if you are a skinny dude with a fast metabolism and want to gain mass then you are probably going to want to eat more protein and carbs and work out with heavier weights for longer durations and do very little cardio.

The truth is that most people who claim to work out for 3-4 hours actually only workout about 45 min. If they would take out all of their time standing around talking and 5 minutes between sets they could easily be out of the gym in less than an hour

years ago (i was about 6-8 mos into it at this point) i was going 3 hrs a day 3 or 4 days a week. a buddy of mine could see size differences within a week

I used to work out 2 hrs 4 times a week, tons of cardio also but I got to a plateau, I changed to 45-60 min training, 3×10 full body and do the cardio after, Ive seen better results doing that than the 1.5 years spent on the classical 4×12 2 muscle groups a day, 2 hours
