Coconut sugar is very expensive sugar. As per the recommendation from the American Diabetes Association, use it as you would regular sugar, following your own personal precautions. It is likely no better than any other sugar for people following low-carb ways of eating.
Coconut sugar is very high in calories (same as regular sugar) and you’d have to eat a ridiculous amount of it to satisfy your need for the above nutrients. Summary Coconut sugar. In a low-carb dieter’s quest for sweet treats, you’re bound to come across the debate regarding the acceptance of coconut sugar as part of a keto lifestyle. While many claim it’s a sound alternative to artificial sweeteners, others.
Coconut Sugar NOT a Low-Carb Sweetener Coconut sugar is often considered a healthy, low-carb sweetener. It has a low glucose (glycemic) content, however its fructose content is very high. If you look at the total carbs, coconut sugar is even higher than high fructose corn syrup, and almost as high as table sugar.
Plus, just like regular sugar, coconut sugar is still high in carbs. So for a low carb diabetic diet, it doesn’t really fit. Most sugars don’t, seemingly ‘natural’ or not. Check out the following stats comparing the glycemic index (GI), number of calories, and amount of carbohydrates in four common sweeteners.
Choose a sweetener that’s low on the glycemic index, natural, and minimally processed. Keep in mind that some natural sweeteners like raw honey, maple syrup, and coconut sugar are not permitted on keto since they are high in carbs. There’s no shortage of recipes incorporating keto-friendly sweeteners.
So it’s very important to let your healthcare provider know you’re following a low-carb diet so they can adjust your medication to match your carb intake. In people who do not have diabetes, low fasting blood sugar levels may be the result of a serious underlying medical condition such as an eating disorder or a tumor.keto coconut flour brownies stacked on a white plate.
Sugar-Substitutes. My top choice is a monk fruit/erythritol blend. My personal favorite is Lakanto’s brand. But you can also use Swerve an erythritol sugar substitute..
You could also use the stevia and erythritol-based brand Pyure for most of my baked goods. However, if using Pyure you will want to use half the amount called for in this.Coconut is NOT a Nut. My youngest child, who is quite the coconut hater, can’t tell this slow cooker cake is made with coconut, and that has been what has driven me to continue to persevere with coconut flour. Youngest has a tree nut allergy so very often I’ve got to make low carb recipes using coconut flour as opposed to almond flour.
But my kids do prefer the slightly sweetened version. Another keto option is to replace the coconut sugar with a low-carb granulated or liquid sweetener. The keto version (no sweetener, or a calorie-free sweetener) contains 14 grams of carbs and 4.Check out these low carb waffles, my coconut blondies, a family favourite, or these super-moist low carb pumpkin muffins. It does not affect blood sugar and is suitable for a low-carb diet. Because it is only about 70% as sweet as sugar, you may need to use a bit more than sugar.
Erythritol is commonly used in low-carb cooking and is one of my favourites.

I find stevia very bitter. I bought it, used it once then chucked it in the bin and it was never cheap
I’m soooo disappointed to find that my itching episodes were happening after eating your #1 choice of monk fruit. Apparently I’m allergic after testing several times of not ingesting it (itching stopped) to eating it again and itching coming back about 24 hours later. Darn!!!
Did I understand him to say that sucrose is ok but Splenda is not? I thought they are the same and if so, why?
Haven’t watched this one yet…and I’m very, very scared!
Brilliant video. Stevia has some after taste. Erithritol is good but sweetness is little low. So Xylitol n Allulose is good but has some effect on stomach. So best way is to combine all the 4. Can u suggest the ratio for combination of all 4 to bring a decent sweetness powder with less calorie n Glycemic index with decent sweetness. Thanks n love from india
I wish wish wish y’all would do honey and add it to this. Honey actually does not affect my blood sugar readings if I do a tsp in my coffee
If any needs to buy the organic coconut palm sugar, please contact me. Price Rs 300/ kg. Phone 8939527774, chennai, India.
One of the hardest working you tubers!! Very Informative and entertaining videos
Hi. Thanks so much for the details. I enjoy my morning cup of tea/coffee with 2 teaspoons of sugar. That is the only once a day. Having PCOS do you think this will be harmful?
I do not care for coconut flavor and I assume coconut sugar has a coconut taste? What sugar can I use instead? I have learned so much from your channel. Thank you. Jill Bruce
Thank you for this video! You mentioned Maltodextrin but I couldn’t here or make out what you both said. Could you elaborate? Thanks again, I love your videos and website
Special Precautions & Warnings:
For people to take Stevia has ragweed as and ingredient.
Allergy to ragweed and related plants: Stevia is in the Asteraceae/Compositae plant family. This family includes ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, daisies, and many other plants. In theory, people who are sensitive to ragweed and related plants may also be sensitive to stevia.
Some people who take Stevia or stevioside experience bloating or nausea. Other people have reported feelings of dizziness,, and numbness.
I didn’t know that looking for a sweetener is that complicated.
Coconut sugar is more fructose…, which is really bad for the liver
Good work. See youtube “The Drive” where host Dr. Peter Attia interviews Rick Johnson, M.D. July 8., 2020. Toward the end, the advantage of aspartame is noted. Also listen to how sugar and Uris acid and fructose and weight gain interplay, and how our ancestors and near starvation made bodies adapt to fructose as a fat storage initiator.
Useless without brand names….I,dont care to get a PhD degree in chemistry in addition to the PhD I already HAVE! Just silly.
I have like 4grocerystores whwre i live and not one of them have any of this I get my monk fruit at a old fashioned foods store and I can barely afford anything their I have to really watch my budget
What a great video! I cringed watching you have to eat all of that sweetner. Thanks for taking one for the team!
Can you do a test with coconut sugar and raw unfiltered honey and pure maple syrup? Please?
What the hell is 3/8 of a cup!!! I don’t need to be a mathematician to have cereal for breakfast.
Amazing. Could you please test different fruits and honeys? That would be super interesting
Dang i just bought some! If I’m trying to cut out sugar what do I use as a natural sweetener??
Excellent amateur testing. You’ve given consistent criteria & the results. Helps a lot so a person should be able to select the sweeteners that work for them.
Best to stay away from all “sweeteners”, period. I have been on a sugar-free diet for some months now. I had some protein powder with sucralose yesterday and I had a serious reaction to it. Blood sugar went THROUGH THE ROOF, I felt nauseous and very sleepy, and the rest of the day I felt like I was hungover from drinking. Never doing that again. Nearly all artificial (read, NOT NATURAL) sweeteners are devastating to your gut bacteria, and they can raise blood level and insulin more than real sugar. Stay away.
Is stevia with potassium sorbate and ascorbic acid safe to use?
Coconut sugar is almost worse… Bobby… research fructose and NAFLD…. which is HUGE! Say no to fructose spikes also. Monk fruit… stevia… ok!
Thanx, great vid…..now….how about doing one on whether processed soy is healthy or not for you….I would be curious to see what you folks have to say about that….since there is a ton of meatless soy products out there….
Great info I don’t use a keto diet, but with PCOS it pays to know this!
Geez.. The comments in here are blabshit mostly.. The doctor definitely knows what hes talkin about, and these coco sugars are wayyyy pricier than other sugars…
She is just reading the who.e thing from somewhere instead of a simpler way of how it is made.
Allulose sucks. Hard on the stomach too. Nasty stuff for me anyway.
Why U guys didn’t diluted all the products in water?
The best way to make the estevia is just boile water and put leaf’s of estivia and boiler for 15 min after that Just cold down. Put in a container on the fridge last a week.
it’s just sugar so eat less….? i think even little kids know that…. that seems soooo stupid idea…LOl
Hey Bobby. In past videos you mentioned a salsa you recommended. ‘Frontera’. I just read the label, it has came sugar. Not much. 1gram per 2Tbs. Is there any salsa without it? Besides home made. Thanks. Love the videos. Great info.
Hi Nisa. Does coconut sugar in tea have any bad taste or even a coconutty taste??
Coconut sugar high in fructose. It is very hard on your liver.
Use a xylitol that’s from real birch the outcome will be better
Can you make a video for Cold items ie dairy, eggs, yogurt, cheese, & non dairy items etc.
If you really don’t like licorice, that’s why so many don’t care for stevia. But you’ve also got to know, sugar substitutes in liquid form are sugar free, however once its made to a powder, it can add carbs and sugar. The powder used to make the sugar sub is what you need to keep an eye on. And if you’re diabetic, check your glucose, if it doesn’t raise my blood sugar, that doesn’t mean it won’t raise yours
Could you possibly do a video on how to defend one’s self against someone attacking you with a piece of fresh fruit? Perhaps a banana.
You should test the xylitol made from corn and the xylitol made from birch tree. Not all xylitol is the same let alone the brands(cough*china*)
Great job guys!! huge thank you! Was so scared to use Erythritol on keto. How did you eat all these without even water?
Would you do same tests on berries please? n avocado, as it’s a fruit too?Thank you!!!
P.S. wud be great if you cud add precautions too, like “Erythritol deadly dangerous for dogs” for example.
Very interesting, if you want to learn how to reverse youre diabetes, visit this website>>> http://diabetesxperts.blogspot.com
Its been 7 yrs now since we don’t intentionally add sugar in any of our food intake and its been almost a yr that we are cautious of what we eat in regards to sugar/calorie/carb content and adding lots of exercise to it.. Result: I was size 40 and now I am size 34..
So I watched a food expert one day and she said when it just says SPICES means MSG within.
What if you are not Keto?Is a little cane sugar ok in small amounts?
What about Tagatose? Have you tried it ever? Would love to hear about it in any updates to this video!
Any type sugar is bad, use in moderation, however less refined sugars (honey, dates, date sugar, cane juice, Palm or cane jaggery aka cane juice simmered until caramel texture forms, coconut sugar etc) I would “assume” may be a tad better. With regular refined white sugar the cane juice has been heated to high temps until sugar crystals form and the molasses extracted which is then further refined to make brown rum, white rum and alcohol………
Maltitol…omg the stomach ache comes after 10 minutes with only a tiny amount. It’s POISON.
Ma’am, What coconut sugar brands do you trust? Patanjali? And your thoughts on Patanjali Madhuram jaggery powder? If possible, do a review.
He made it seem like people consume coconut sugar by the cup full instead of a tablespoon. People, a table spoon of coconut sugar is a hell of a lot better than regular sugar. “Slightly less bad” is a huge understatement.
I’m new to the Keto Diet. 2 ½ weeks. I had a few sucralose sweetened drinks this week and this morning I found no ketones in my first pee of the day.
I’m not sure if it’s the drinks or not, but I thought I’d mention it here. I need further testing to be sure of whether sucralose affects my ketones.
This was such great info but everyone reacts differently. Xylitol is my go to sweetener mixed with stevia. It doesn’t spike me or cause any type of stomach distress. So people should be aware they should test for themselves. For example, some diabetics can eat bananas or oatmeal with no spikes and others can’t. Everyone’s body chemistry is different. Also monk fruit is mostly erythritol.
Palm trees are to those who live off all they produce what the bison was to the American Indian. Imagine invaders coming in to your world and destroying what you lived off of…what would become of your world, your people?
Hello! I’m a newbie here. I’m only 5′ 3″ and weigh 109 lbs. How would KETO benefit someone like myself? I don’t want to lose overall weight just a little flab around my middle. I usually use Stevia as well. I cut out sugar 22 years ago. I eat less carbs than the average person but KETO sounds way more extreme. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks:)
So the minerals are in trace minerals BUT aren’t these minerals necessary to ‘digest’ the sugar
I love that you include data in the description. Keep making videos.
1. DAMN THIS GUY IS HOT! YUM!!
2. I don’t care if something is good for me or not, If it’s better for me or not, If it’s healthy or not. I only judge foods by one criteria, do I like the taste? Period. I like and prefer the taste of coconut sugar to regular white sugar. That’s it. If something IS good or better for my health, great! That’s just a plus. If it isn’t but I still like the taste, oh well, I’m still gonna eat it.
Well I was hoping but in any case I refuse to use that disgusting chemical taste stevia or any artificial sweeteners. I get nause palpitations and headaches. I rather don’t add any anything or maybe some Manuka honey if I really cant help it.
My PA is taking me off of stevia because it causes me to have diarrhea!!
I am wondering about taking granulated sugar subs and making powdered sugar. I have found several that call for corn starch. Is it necessary? Could you use Psyllium Husk or Xanthan Gum
instead of Corn starch? Is it a one to one if so?
I would have liked to see you also test saccharin (Sweet N Low) and acesulfame potassium aka Ace-K (Sunette/Sweet One). And I would have also loved to see you test honey, just to prove, once and for all, that it’s just as bad as granulated sugar.
Also, just in case other viewers don’t know this, there’s not one sugar substitute to rule them all. You can’t use some sweeteners for certain things. For example, erythritol in powdered form is great for baked goods, but not for beverages (hot or cold) because it doesn’t dissolve. And aspartame isn’t good for anything where it will be exposed to heat (baking, cooking, hot beverages) because heat causes it to break down and become bitter. Many of the sweeteners are not suitable for baking because they will negatively affect the volume and texture of the finished product (cookies will be too soft and/or dry and crumbly, and cakes will be too flat and/or dense).
Natural from G O D ‘ S E A R T H solutions W I L L A L W A Y S B E S U P E R I O R, not to the biases of shills of corporation formula patent owners, but superior to our bodies DNA that is inside us and can carry on for indite cycles of revisions because its part of your natural world environment that survived with you.
There’s a new one on the market called PureCane, ever heard of it? Where does it fall if you have?
Damn. I bought xylitol because it reduces plaque and tooth decay! Even babies whose mothers use xylitol have better teeth!
Great work guys thank you for doing this video it’s very important to see the effect these sweeteners do to our blood sugar levels. My own personal choice is the natural Stevia sweetener as the rest are chemical preparations. ATB
Ma’am I am using stevia. Which is much better stevia or coconut sugar.? Plz reply
Can you pleaseeee do a video on clean household items! Like dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, deodorants? That would be so educational!:)
I like your cooking videos but I like a simple salad, sometimes I just use lime juice on red cabbage, lettuce and sweet peppers.
Im interested in this. Mostly as a sugar substitute.most other sugar substitutes are triggers for my migraines and in large quantities seizures.
What about products like Sparkling Ice sparkling water that has pure sucralose in it or jello that has aspartame in it? Is it gonna spike my blood sugar? Is it bad to consume?
Vita fiber??? I would like for you to test that one. https://shop.vitafiberimo.com/
Thank you so much for this. I have insulin resistance so knowing what causes a response is so helpful
I don’t buy anything unless it’s Bobby approved. And i’ve been looking for a good choco nut butter! Thanks Bobby!
Monkfruit is the best sweetener of all IMO. The closest thing to sugar. Just expensive.
Why would they use sunflower oil or soybean oil or any oil in soda or protein drinks,I dont want to drink it?
Sucralose plus any kind of carb supposedly dramatically increases bs ratios.
Hey nisha…i hv stopped using white sugar n using jaggery instead..like in tea n milk..is it ok??, What do u prefer better to use in place of sugar…honey or jaggery? I hv hypothyroid…plz rply..
Obviously you haven’t done sufficient research, some aspects of your data is inaccurate.
I stopped using all artificial sweeteners because they seem to cause oily skin and face bumps.
sugar is bad we know and shouldn’t be eating it often and not without fiber, potassium etc but if I can use a more desirable sugar tasting product with lower glycemic levels in very moderate amounts that have a bit more nutritional value for a granulated sugar that may add up over time, y not? I think ppl with sugar issues know they have to be careful period, so I don’t think ppl are going to go buck wild but it sounds like an okay alternative for me. I don’t drink soda or juice and I don’t consume too much starch in my meals. But I do make a 2 liter amount of different kinds of non-caffeinated teas or hand squeeze lemonade that I flavor with stevia. When I used sugar. I used only a Tbs for a 2 liters. I can do that with this and have less impact and those benefits, then that works for me. I honestly get most of my sugar from whole fruits, and beans.
I’m wanting to buy maple syrup but it has Sorbitol, Sucralose are these 2 ok? Label Said 0.1 carbs and 0 sugar. Looks good?
What were you talking about when you were saying you wanted to avoid “natural” flavoring
Great breakdown on sweeteners and the referenced site has an excellent chart. Stick to the liquid.
Also I thought you said in your monkfruit video that it WAS a 1 to 1 substitute for baking now it’s not?
Since this video, have you tested any sweeteners for insulin response?
QOTD: Have you tried coconut sugar? What is your your favorite sweetener to use?

I have not found monk fruit on it’s own. It is always mixed with something.
Sucralose
Anyone have any thoughts, opinions or experiences they’d like to share?
Thank you for all the videos i have learned a lot,and to read labels!!
Thanks for the explantation. I bought some stevia here in Germany, it looks like refined sugar but it has 0 cal. it is 98% carb. how can this be?
Omgosh wish our groceries looked like this!!! Shelves here are still not full.
mam can u pls do a video on stevia also pls..is stevia has any demerits??
I have bought Stevia and made sweets from it and it tastes really bitter what to do?
The graph you mentioned used sucralose from the brand Splenda, which has maltodextrin. Sucralose actually has a 0 GI.
Monk fruit sweetner is delicious, natural and no wierd aftertaste.
Thanks for this video:) We have Jaggery at home! I think it tastes so much better than normal white sugar. Is date syrup also a good alternative? Or agave syrup?
Glad I found your channel. Funny enough I use swerve and lakanto but swerve is the only sweetener that doesn’t bloat me.
What about Stevia and Travia or are they in these under a different name?
I still think the best tasting and simple sweetener out there is Lakanto Monkfruit, 0 cal, 0 glycemic, 0 carbs, and 2 ingredients, non-gmo Erythritol, and the natural Monkfruit, that’s it.
Maple syrup is 98% sucrose.
It’s like sugar water with maple flavoring.
I don’t know where to find Monkfruit here so I use Equal Naturals Stevia, doesn’t have bitter aftertaste so I’m fine with it for now. I used to consume 1/2kg of sugar a week for my coffee!
I’m really into eating healthy ( wich I do already), but I didn’t know much about sugar….I use brown or organic cane or even agave but never white…I’ve tried coconut sugar but I can’t….seriously, for me it tastes Really bad….I have to try another options.
But I really want to say how I appreciate your videos….they helping a lot
Thank you so much for this! Yes, xylitol is the one that makes me sick! So glad you mentioned that because I’ve been wary of using any of these sugar replacements, because I remembered getting sick once from eating something sugar-free, but didn’t know it was the xylitol.
Detrimental effects of sugar?? Or detrimental effect of sugar because industries put sugar in all our food..?
I am still not sure which sweetener is the best for diabetics. I was told that monkfruit is good but I watch these videos and there are too many choices. A lot have bulk bags of almond or coconut flour, the husk thickener and make sure u put this sugar with that sugar or it will taste bitter. Is there no simple solution for diabetics? Which sugar is best for the diabetic, be it for baking or otherwise? Thank you.
This is a fake information coconut palm sugar is a very gud substitute for normal sugar
coconut sugar is BAD too. It will illicit a glucose response equivalent to cane sugar.
DO NOT LET YOUR DOG OR PETS GET INTO XYLITOL. IT CAN AND IS OFTEN FATAL.
I wish I would have seen this video before purchasing a huge bag of coconut sugar since it states it’s low on carbs…
I’m not sure if it would make any difference but I looked up that xylitol, that one is made of corn. There’s birch xylitol I’ve been using that claims on the back that none of it gets absorbed by the body. Idk if its true or not, but in certainly curious
Can u show some coconut sugar recipes for desert like fruit salads and custards cake etc
I just saw a video about coconut sugar the other day saying they are usually cut with white sugar and can have anywhere from 25-75% white sugar in it. https://youtu.be/A32va3sLi5M
I had bacon and eggs for breakfast this morning. I purchased all natural bacon with no preservatives. I noticed it tasted a little sweet and when I looked at the ingredients it had turbinado sugar in it. Did I kick myself out of keto?
What can you use for honey, or is there any keto friendly honey?
My erythritol shows zero calories but 100% carbohydrates, I am confused, I can not give up drinking tea,I need a sweetner that is good for Keto diet I need to drink tea without breaking my keto diet
Watch out for the drink called body armor lyte it has erythritol and its delicious but i sat on the toilet 20 times that night… i think it was the combo of erythritol and coconut water but dam I won’t drink that ever again
Does coconut sugar taste like coconut? I don’t like coconut taste
American diets aren’t even overloaded with sugar… Its worse than that. Its high fructose corn syrup. The body doesn’t even recognize it as a sugar. So hello type 2 diabetes.
Erythritol spikes my blood sugar, and I’m not alone. It also causes horrible stomach pains and gas in lots of people.
So far, stevia is the only sweetener that doesn’t affect my blood sugar but only if I use really sparingly. I realize my experience is not the norm but blanket statements like “Erythritol does not spike blood sugar” are misleading. Checking with a glucometer is the best way to find what’s ok for you.
So glad I found your channel, I’ve been using xylitol for a few years, I shall now change to Stevia. Thank you!
i just bought stevia today and was disappointed when i got home and read the package. the first ingredient was dextrose. i don’t understand why. so 4 packages has 2mg of carbs. it made me mad.
I love coco it sugar and its lower and need less and its Healthier! I am Diabetico and it just love it my glucouse its regúlales. NUTRIENTS we need great flavorrr
They should call this channel how to triple your food budget with minimal return on dollar….
I wish you’d done actual Splenda with the maltodextrin. I’d really like to see results.
Thank you for all the effort:-) have an important question.. What about using diet sugar thats made from Stevia? is that ok? I couldnt find any of the sweetners u talked about n my country except for stevia which is rare here and doesnt even taste good:(
the one I have is Candrel:
https://www.missmysupermarket.com/canderel-green-stevia-sweetener-75g.html
i died from diabetis was brought back to life and told to exrecise and stay off sugar and for 5 years i am still alive…but i saw peter made an icecream with 10 grams of sorbitol and i had 400 grams and the next day i went into a semi tyred comea type lazyness i contributed to the ice cream.. if that had been sugar it might have been worse since ice crwam can have 50 grams of suigar i it so i dont have it any more until they lower it to 10 milligrams a thousand times less in my blood.. now heinz has similer bake beans but no where will they tell me how much is in the tin so i measure my blood and how i fel the next day but i feel they are not telling me the truth and my life depends on this.. thamnk you skeatesybubbygoddess 2020
stevia and erythritol are your go to sweetners for drinks and cooking. try micro dosing to start. It took me awhile to get used to them. Now I enjoy them a lot more. If you want to lose weight and get healthy. The alternative is no sweetners. No sugar.. that’s the fact. Go for it..
Wow..ThAnks.for.the

I find that I have to use much less of it for my coffee than any other kind of sugar to achieve the same sweetness. I also tastes awesome in coffee.
i hav pcos so ive decided to reduce sugery stuff though I’m a sweet tooth can i use this?
I love your videos, but when you do this picture in picture style it makes me nauseous with so much movement.
Sugar high in calories??? PLEASE! What the heck is this donkey talking about. Refined sugars are bad, yes. Sugar is not high in calories! Fruits are low in calories and they contain sugar! Eat your sugars, it’s the fat to look out for. Coconut sugar is HEALTHY.

Are pharmaceutical companies challenged by super food products?
So the answer is, Yes. Coconut Sugar is a healthier substitute. Why would anyone eat “cups and cups of sugar” for zinc and iron etc. What a ridiculous statement. Your research & comments and are weak.
Hi Bobby can you review on HelloBello organic multivitamin for kids.
The right glicemic index is 35 for the coconut, if you believe him check on the google, I did it, diferent sites say the same thing “35” pretty low glicemic index
Great seeing you in a well fitting mask. I know it’s not your fav thing to do.
Make your own ice cream in the vitamix with banana’s. So yummy…Love your video’s..
Im on day 12 KETO I love sugar in my coffee and teas. So I’m trying STEVIA and MonkFruit and I’m loving it. Although I noticed I need more of the MonkFruit to taste it.
Coconut sugar is about 50% lower than regular, brown, honey, maple syrup and agave on the glycemic scale so it does in fact make it a much better option.
To me the idea is to get your palate away from the sweet taste, for example estevia is very sweet, wouldn’t it be better to use honey?
What sugar i can use in my every morning coffee? I am starting to watch your video and I learn a lot on what to avoid.
I have eaten coconut covered in coconut sugar HELL I EVEN ATE 3 BLOBS OF COCONUT SUGAR IN A HOUR AND I STILL ATE HALF A BLOB AFTER THAT
Sorry for so many questions…looked at the chart on the website, allulose and erythritol both have a GI of 0 but allulose has Net Carbs listed 0-5 and erythritol is listed as 5, every site I’ve ever looked as has said to SUBTRACT these from the carb count because they DONT contribute to Net Carbs so why are they being counted as net carbs on your chart. Im new to keto and trying to learn. Thank you for any help!!!
I bought stevia but when I read it’s ingredients it contains maltodextrin. Is it a safe ingredient?
Thank you 4 being the Guinea I was wondering what you thought about swerve Halle Berry has really been promoting it and she’s been diabetic her whole life though I’m not diabetic I’m new on the ketone I have about 60 lb that I need! To lose for MyHealth. I’ve been doing all the research that I can doesn’t seem to raise blood sugar my friend is typed too and she checks hers she tried swerve I like it better than stevia it’s kind of bitter for my pallet for some reason but I’m definitely going to check some of the other successful ones that you shared you’re awesome. And hilarious I’ll be watching
Are Ketosis strips any good? Sure like you two, easy videos to watch.
One product I just read about is coconut nectar which is very different from coconut sugar. Please do a video on coconut nectar. Thanks for this video!
It sounds like, google information is not enough. Many people google everything and that becomes the truth in their minds. You can see that if you observe conversation, comments on different channels on youtube. There is always someone who has seen the light and knows something else.Just know people. Do not belief in everything you read or hear for that matter. I know it is frustrating, that you really can’t trust the information you find, but it is how it is. people google people that ahs google people and 1 ant becomes and Elephant.. Even some doctores speak of things they do not know a lot about. Before we know of it.It is unhealthy to eat at all and water is so bad for you bcause it is poluted and on and on it goes. Everything in moderations.Just like alcohol and cigarets. Way back.It was cucumber and then it was tomatoes.Everything is bad if you have to much of it. even some veggies. ; ) May blessings be given to you all.
What about Monk fruit? I’ve heard that there’s a sweetener that is half Stevia and half Monk fruit. My aunt says it tastes great and I’m guna give it a try. I’ve gone down 35lbs in the last 3 months on Keto and I’m excited for what next year holds.
Yes i switch to coconut sugar! Grab it now as long as it’s still cheap prices. It’s not too sweet compared to sugar though.
Thankyou for doing this. Got educated! I was so concerned about Aspertame in my favourite jello/whipping cream dessert and my one diet drink per day (not everyday). The ketone strips I bought have NEVER shown ketosis so I thought it was the Aspertame. Faulty strips?
I wish we could get a insulin tester. Would be cool to see the effects of sweeteners on insulin
How I look at is too much of anything is not good for you even if it is classified as health or healthier
Hi Bobby! Thanks for the video. New subscriber here.. Have you ever done a video about water? I was curious to know what are your thoughts on water consumption
I was on Keto diet twice in my life..both times it failed. I followed it to a T…6 months in my early 30s and lost 2 pounds the whole time…gave it up…then recently…I am 55 now… from Jan to April and did lose but gained sporadically and was questioning my choice of sweeteners…read an article online on certain ones raising glucose levels…I was doing total erythritol then added stevia into my diet for change in my coffee and almost gained all 3 lbs that I lost…it was a rollercoaster and still I decided to can the keto diet as it didn’t work again even strictly following it. I heard some people it doesn’t work for…anyhow I cut out all sugar and just use erythritol and I don’t like bread, potatoes, but an occasional sushi roll is my rice intake…but I gave that up too and eat whatever I want that doesn’t include sugar or the 3 bread potatoes or rice…so it’s basically low carb and I eat 3-4 hrs after I wake…so far it’s working…9lbs since May…very slow but I’m happy and don’t feel deprived at all! Thanks so much for your testing…I might try Allilose for a change…or maybe not lol since what I am doing is working.
Said this before but almost everything we buy has sugar… and it’s really poison to our bodies! Cancer cells love it! Thanks for your video. Really appreciate it!!
the graft makes NO sense it shows sugar going down stevia going up?????
A 35 GI is “slightly” lower than cane sugar’s 60 GI? That’s stupid. Haters. That is ‘significantly’ lower.
So isn’t stevia a processed food? It leaves a nasty taste in the mouth too.
Dennis Pollard’s website “Beat Diabetes” claims that strawberries cause only a small rise in blood sugar. Why don’t you test some foods and see how much they increase blood sugar?
mam how to make at home and what is the name in malyalam bkoz i have some malyali freinds.so i can ask them to bring it.
I have actually been using epic gum, toothpaste, and mouthwash to try and counteract some cavities. Supposedly Xylitol can kill the bacteria that is responsible for a cavity. I have never been knocked out of ketosis but from your results it more than likely would break a fast so I will be more aware of that.
Wow, that flipped, screen in screen is great! You guys are doing so well! Continued Blessings ✌
If it’s lower than normal processed sugar, and is a natural sugar? then surely it’s better than normal sugar for tea and coffee drinkers that enjoy sugar in their beverage. I have substituted table refined sugar for coconut sugar and have already lost a few pounds, my insulin levels are normal now.
Omg I am cringing from watching you eat all that “sugar”, thanks!!!
Can you please consider making on video on how and why you got into all of this?
I follow the Mediterranean diet and eat a lot of pasta and dishes with EVOO. I would like to see a video specifically on pasta.
Hey Bobby, Thank you! Your videos are always so informative. They open my eyes to products that I would normally pass up in the supermarket.
What about a “replacement/substitute/eat this not that” video for everyday basic items that we use all the time? You may already have review a lot of these items in different videos, but I was thinking of adding in baking items Dessi’s turf ! Maybe show both a “Keto” and a “better for you” version, items like sugar(which you did here already), brown sugar, power sugar, corn starch, baking powder, baking soda. vanilla extract, garlic powder, seasonings and whatever else….you know what I mean.
I see you commented on, or ‘liked’ some comments that mentioned Sweve. However, I don’t see where Swerve is mentioned in the video.
What does Ruled.me think of Swerve?
Where does it rank?
Can i use brown sugr on keto plzz do me reply…plzz as soon as posbl..em on keto from 11 days
Yo Bobby as usual a great video. Even though off the topic but do you think you could make a video explaining wether Lupin flower and Wheat gluten would be Bobby approved ingredients to make bread? Regards
Coconut sugar is sucrose, same as white sugar.
It might include some minerals and some fiber, but it’s still not good for you.
Plus, it promotes destruction of tropical forests.
In a video I watched how the trace minerals in coco sugar are insignificant
I got it recently near by our area, wow! amazing thank you Nisa….
I wish you had used all dry versions. I really like monk fruit dry, I do not like the liquid version.
I learn so many things in just one of your videos. Thank you for telling us the little tips as they pop up when you look at ingredients on products, such as coconut sugar and coconut palm sugar are the same thing. I appreciate you!
Do you ever get concerned on how chubby the younger generation is getting. I am STUNNED to see my four children’s friends, went from skinny as a child to now at their ages of early 20’s….to overweight…moreso especially it’s happening with the girls. Back in the 70’s and 80’s,everyone was thinner in their 20’s whereas you can see the hip bones, etc. What’s GOING ON?!?!
Do Zevia teas spike insulin? It is zero carb and zero calories. Its sweetened with stevia but is fruit flavored.
I have been researching Keto for three years and have done the Keto diet on an off. I did lose weight, but because of the mis-information out there, I didn’t do that well. People really are mislead by many websites and folks that are not really experts on Keto. I’m sure they mean well. Your website is awesome! You have provided accurate information and the recipes look awesome! I can’t wait to try some of your recipes. The content and organization of your website is excellent. It’s easy to navigate and all the information I’ve read is spot on. Thank you for the time and energy you’ve put into informing so many people about your story and providing a platform for others to succeed. I also appreciate the fact that you emphasize using clean (organic) ingredients. That matters! Keep up the great work!!!
This coconut suger is ready made? we need to get it from super markets? i thought this video shows how to make it
This channel is awesome! I love how the cooking videos are short and have no one talking in them-they are easy to understand and not too long. I can’t find the testimonials of other people’s success though. I’ve looked through the playlists. Can someone help? I’m only on Day 7 so far, but the scale says I’m already down 6 lbs, and that is 6 lbs OFF of my injured spine! A back injury is what pushed me to do keto. I need to lose 100lbs or so. I’m gonna do it!
How about insulin levels. Could you do the same but measuring the insulin response? Sometimes just for the sweet taste on your tongue, insulin spikes, but not for every sweetner. Thank you for the great testing you did!
I am a faithful user of stevia & know it has a bitter aftertaste esp when used in XS but im used 2 it by now & so does erythritol, which I find 2b worse. However bc stevia doesnt really xlate well in baking, I recently got Swerve 4 the 1st time & it was INFINITELY better but I had to cut serving size bc of that nasty erythritol taste. However I just now purchased a couple of others-ZenSweet and Lokanto Monkfruit Sweeteners. The latter I’m already familiar with bc of their maple syrup (which I also use in my baking). IMO out of all three, ZenSweet tastes the best with Lokanto coming in very close second and Swerve last. I left this LONG comment cuz I thought this clip was referring to brands instead of general types of sweeteners, so if u thought so too, perhaps this’ll help.
Hi Bobby, in the Simple Millos almond flour chocolate chip cookies, I noticed it said, cane sugar in the chips. Are you okay with that? What chocolate chips do not have cane sugar in them?
I keep hearing about erythritol but it’s loaded with carbs yet no one is explaining it?
Erythritol is a sugar alcohol that can cause diarrhea and other stomach problems. They must be paying people to push it because that part is never mentioned. Interesting that this is stated for other sugar alcohols but norpt erythritol. All over youtube people are pushing it.
In Europe coconut butter/oil is considered as as unhealthy fat like the fat from a pig. It is quite surprising to me that in the US they think everything about the coconut is beneficial.
Homemade konbucha tea requires sugar. Is there a substitute I can use. I do use organic sugar
Is there any body who can answer my question? Is cafe al fresco sugar free sweetner keto friendly???
Any way you guys could test how those sweetners impact insulin levels? Probably not but that would be interesting.
I love eating/chewing coconut sugar from India. Ima vegan..just saying..
Regarding the Lakanto Maple Syrup, I hate to say it, but it’s a no-go for me, because the flavor is kinda nasty. Their Lakanto Monkfruit/erythritol blend sweeteners are STELLAR (my daily favorite)! But if you want maple syrup, just go for the real stuff and enjoy yourself! The NuNaturals @ 19:50 is 100% unadulterated monkfruit powder in a little shaker, and it’s SO SWEET that one teeny pinch is the equivalent to one teaspoon! That little jar has over 500 servings in it, so proceed with caution. I bought it when it was on sale (plus my Prime discount), because I just wanted to try it, but I wasn’t willing to pay full price, just to try it out. Pure monkfruit does have a slightly “bitter” aftertaste (or “forward” taste… kinda like stevia does). I decided to keep it as a part of my prepper stash/backup, in case I run out of my Lakanto during the Zombie apocalypse.
Costco has a really good price on the Lakanto Monkfruit sweetener.
In your cereal video you said cascadian farms was a good one to buy, now it’s not?
Yes limit sweetners in general however Coconut sugar is way better then regular super processed white sugar. This video said everything I’ve heard no suprises. There is no sweetners with tons of nutrition. Honey, Maple Syrup, and Coconut Sugar all just have trace minerals. I would just say go for less refined sweetners.
Question what can I use for a brown sugar substitute for baking? I have coconut sugar but flavor is not the same…please advise. Thank you.
MAKE SURE STEVIA DOESNT CONTAIN MALTODEXTRIN!! the maltodextrin will spike your insulin
Take it from a person who has used a glucomerer for years. Longer than either of you two have lived. This is a rediculous video. if you only knew how you guys sound to an experienced blood tester. There is SO much more involed in testing such as physical activity, mental stress, what you had to eat the day before, what your activity was over the last 48 hours, what your weight and blood pressure are as well. Youre just rediculous. You didnt open anyones eyes. Sorry to sound so bubble bursting but from a much more experienced person with this you kist sound totally rediculous.
Thought i had my sweet tooth fix figured out with sugar free popsickles from wally mart. Didnt look too closely at label. Double fisting those things like they were gonna stop makin them tomorrow. 13 grams of carbs per. Couldnt figure out why i was blowin up like a xmas wino. How the hell do jamb 13 into a sugar free popsickle?
I see that coconut sugar has a high percentage of fructose! Is it really any good?
I have PPMS and react to processed sugars (they make my symptoms worse due to inflammation). But natural or minimally processed are totally accepted by my body. Maple syrup, honey, and coconut sugar are sweeteners that dont inflame my nerves.
So helpful! Now I know why I stopped losing weight, too much Trident gum!
What about ham, I have bought this ham and it has 1g of sugar do you think it would be good if I ate it
Date sugar is meant to be good for nutrients, slightly better than even molasses apparently. Because it’s basically dried/ground up dates, so the whole fruit.
I would like to have seen a day where they did nothing and then measured 30 minutes later. I think that would have made a better baseline to compare against the worst in straight sugar. If they do nothing for that 30 minutes and test, then there should be a drop. So I see the rest of the results as having stopped that drop as much as it is in increasing the levels.
Please do something on food for kids would love that!!
Also love the live recipes but do you post the recipes after you go live? I attempted your recipe from just watching but it could been better if I knew some measurements haha.
Thanks!!
I feel sad after watching this cuz my functional medicine doc put me on a liver cleanse and my hydrolyzed beef powder mix has xylitol in it..so does my liquid magnesium. We’re trying to heal my gut as well…am I actually doing harm through all this?????!!!!!!
Is coconut sugar up your A1c? I really need to know even though my A1c is down to six I need something to help me getting my A1c go down to five or lower plus help me lose weight!
I sometimes eat the whole package of coconut sugar tastes too good
Again! Still not making any difference between white cane sugar and raw cane sugar, but promoting coconut sugar that is the true poison! Willful denial!
I love splenda natural!
The best in my opinion.
2 tablespoons acv
2 tablespoons lemon juice
30 oz water
1 packet spenda natural
YUMMY
As a Prediabetes patient I’m extremely thankful to you for this video. Xylitol, monk fruit and sugar had the worst taste, gut reactions and/or glucose impact. Totally worth watching. Thanks again
Mam coconut sugar is super
Why the super is high cost
Where we buy in low cost
Is it possible to buy in low cost?
I find this presentation of data not very scientific. First of all that statement that you cannot think the glycemic index of coconut sugar is uniformly low because different manufacturers load their products with sugar differently! Or something to this effect was stated! That is…not scientific. What are you measuring? Opinions? Or coconut sugar. If at all your data has to be based on not some products by different people with a variant recipe with too many uncontrolled variables. Sorry that is stupid. You need to stick to a uniform measure of the key ingredient examined, in its raw product form. Then talk. This.. putting up a slick video, while well dressed..does not make it correct or intelligent. But surely a few will be sufficiently fooled and convinced. You are insidiously suggesting that the benefits are if any only very very very slightly better…so slightly infact as to be Insignificant compared to the cost between regular sugar n coconut sugar and you are giving that crap opinion based on crappy non data, while making it sound like it is researched! Omg!
It would of been nice to have a better understanding of why coconut sugar is good/bad for the thyroid health, as the title suggests. One vague, small comment at the end of the video doesn’t justify the title. Explain the connection.
I bashed your channel sometime ago, I tried the Paleo diet, and now I’m hooked!!!
No more heart burn, no more high insulin, no more being sore after a workout…. Thank-you
Can i use just 1 tsp of honey per day to sweeten my coffee? I dont snack nor crave for sweet but just cant drink coffee bitter
Where is the evidence to support the claims in this video? spoiler alert There is no evidence.
Hi Bobby! What’s a good way to sweeten something like a cucumber agua fresca? I tried using coconut sugar but it changes the color and flavor
Could you routinely mention net carbs and serving size after you do the rest of it? Whenever I could glimpse that info, that was great, but in general you’re not giving all the info and for a lot of it, good alternatives for sugar is terrific (love your videos) but for a lot of us the carbs are still way too high for the serving sizes.
Thanks for this video!! I’m thinking of doing Thrive Market. Do you have a video on which products are the best?
Hi mam, I’m staying in Bangalore where will get coconut sugar in Bangalore? Any organic shop will get?
when I click on the ketone monitor it says cant be found. what’s the name please! and thank you
I ate an entire box (I’m a pig) of sugar free brownies sweetened with maltitol. I spent much of the night hosing off my mattress. I camped out in the bathroom for three days.
What equipment or cell phone feature do you use to have the double view with you and the background simultaneously?
You need to make your own Bobby Approved foods. I’d definetly buy.
I used to chew on coconut palm sugar when I was young and I didn’t have any single tooth decay. But I lost one of my teeth because chewing the chocolate bar loaded with refined white sugar.
I’m confused as to why monk fruit would not have been mentioned at all. Also, some people are seeing insulin spikes with Stevia, I am hearing?
Ma’am pl postsome more breakfast and dinner recipes for diabetics

Great post Dearest Nisa =)
I’m allergic to stevia so coconut / palm sugar or agave syrup is what i’ve been using for years. Its costly but I use a lot less quantity in my receipes so in the end, its all good, thanks for the share and stay blessed xxxx
So you take away honey but cookies and ice cream are okay, well that is a pretty messed up kind of diet
There are plenty of good Kashi and casscadian cereals u just chose the worst ones lol
i only use 100% sucralose poweder without maltodextrin taste like sugar but have zero calories
Mam, अच्छे वाले स्टीव्हिया ली लिंक दीजिए. और आपका ये कोकोनट शुगर बहोत दिनो से unavailble hai.मेन कहासे लू?
Hey Bobby!
I sincerely appreciate the information and content you and your team produce on the daily. Please continue spreading the ‘good word of nutrition’ as long as possible. It makes a difference!
I have a non-nutrition question and someone may have already asked this, but where did you get your mask from? I’ve been trying to find one that I won’t silently suffocate in that fits well.
Thank you for all you do!
Hey. Loved your channel. Good work. Lift a like n sub. I’m a Indian YouTuber. Checkout my channel.
Of the good sweeteners can you guys compare prices per unit equivalent measure of sugar?
Thanks ahead of time…
Allulose!
Been Keto for 3 years now.
Allulose is virtually indistinguishable from sugar in almost every way.
Hi I need help I do intermittent fasting and I eat 1 big meal a day and I work 6 days week and in the last day I only do stretches for 20-40 minutes and today is my rest day how should I know if should be eating the same or do a refeed day or cheat meal or cheat day please help ASAP thanks
Some people are more sensitive to Stevia than others. Its an herb and it’s also a naturally occurring estrogen, so it’s a bit more complex when causing an insulin based reaction.
Also, I always questioned why “diabetic safe” sugar-free foods use Malitol and Xylitol, and this video just re-raises that question. Why do they give sugar substitutes that spike blood sugar, to diabetics?
Me,:) thanks for all his investigations and informations. I have learned so much as life style clean diet
Subscribed; awesome info!
Thanks for taking one for the team!
Love this! Would love some vids on best in class GLUTEN FREE and DAIRY Free options!
I’m not an Aldis shopper but made a special trip for some of their ice cream. It may have great ingredients but it is not good. Waste of money and time. Love So Delicious products.
Xylitol is lethal for dogs. It should have a warning label on it!!
New to channel. Good stuff my man. I appreciate you sharing and your dedication.
glad someone agrees with me on how awful sugar is for you. hide it in everything
hi m from Bangladesh.can u plz give me any online shop link from where I can get coco sugar…
Splenda makes me sick and makes my sugar spike. Glucerna products make me sick. But I’m actually diabetic.
Also I made straw ice cream last Mon & again on Wednesday. l then made the pnut butter swerve cookies on that same week on Saturday. Ate a few bc u know, they are small. But then Sat night my head started spinning when my head hit the pillow. This was the same feeling I had 10 yrs ago from consuming foods & diet items made w aspertame.
Oh, i absolutely LOVED the organic popcorn from aldi that you recommended, with coconut oil and Himalayan pink sugar….my favorite… I went there that day I saw the video and I literally bought everything that had your Approved stamp!
Doesn’t matter which one, they all taste like “medicine….nasty medicine. You can’t fake sugar.
hi mam!
nice vid as usual!
i am on an weight loss journey, is palm jaggery better than coconut sugar? which to substitute for regular sugar?
kindly tell us which brand coconut sugar to purchase online.
thank you both so much you have answered questions right here that I have had for 15 to 20 years about all these different sweeteners.and it proves my point that corporation lies to us. I’m glad you did aspartame because I hate it but unfortunately I try to tell you I probably drink a 2 liter bottle of soda once a day possibly one and a half because I’m so sick of water and I’m so sick of those flavored Waters that really taste nasty to me.
I made pnut butter cookies w monkfruit last week. I did not like them bc it gave me that cooling aftertaste. Then I made a batch w Swerve confectioners sugar which were yummy. But I found using different recipes w other sweeteners works out just fine.
Chechy..what about brown sugar??is it good for hypothyroism?plz reply..
That’s amazing Bobby! We just literally bought the Epic chicharones at Bj’s wholesale today. That’s awesome to know it’s approved by you! My hubby and I are on keto and nice to know. Thanks soo much!!
Great Video very informative. How do you feel about xyletol?
Wow I used organic unrefined coconut sugar. I never knew all of its benefits
Klf coconad natural coconut sugar is it the same that u mentioned
ruled me is a women i thought it was a man when i was watching those dessert recipes
I’m type one diabetic and my insulin injection is less than half amount since trying out the keto diet ✨ loving the pyure sweetener
Made little sense really because most people now know Regular sugar is bad for you and when you say Regular sugar l guess!!!!! you are talking about white table sugar? so why are you not comparing it to Raw -cane sugar lm still in the dark.. guess ill look else where on here for the info. So what we really need is ….ls raw organic coconut sugar better for you than Raw Organic Cane sugar?
coconut sugar is a healthy alternative to refined sugar and for your thyroid health
