How to make Palak Chicken Curry Recipe Saag Wala Chicken To begin making the Palak Chicken recipe, firstly clean, wash the chicken breast and cut into small to medium sized Take a medium bowl and add chicken pieces, 1 teaspoon oil, lemon juice, green chilli paste, salt, pepper, and red.DIRECTIONS Boil the frozen spinach, according to package directions, until done. Place cooked spinach in a collindar and drain off Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in.The Indian cuisine have a traditional recipe of palak paneer from the region of Punjab which favorite for foodies all over the world. I think it is non comparable and the taste and flavors are completely different.
Palak paneer is favorite among both vegetarian and non vegetarian foodies and chicken is not a substitute of panner in this dish.When the display reads ‘hot’, add 1 tbsp oil. Sprinkle a little garam masala and salt on chicken breast (or thighs) and place it seasoned side down in the cooking pot. Let it brown for 1 minute. After that, flip the chicken and season the other side with a pinch of garam masala and salt and cook for 1.

The end result is a tasty and nutritious dish which is very easy to make and is also perfect for your weekday meals. Add the chicken and stir to coat with spices, keep ‘stir frying’ until none of the chicken pieces look pink. Mix in the diced tomato, spinach and a cup of hot water, bring to a boil then simmer for 20-25 minutes until tender. Add the kasuri methi (if using), adjust seasoning.Put in a mixer with a tbsp of Greek yogurt and puree. Heat the cumin, cardamom and cinnamon in a casserole on high heat (without oil) for a minute.
Add 2 tbsp of olive oil and mix. Add the onion and cook for 3 minutes. Add the chicken with the yogurt marinade, a 1/2 tsp of salt and cook for 2 minutes.
Wash the spinach and Microwave Batch -2 in little water for 2-3 minutes and allow it to cool. Heat oil/butter in a deep vessel and saute onions until golden grown. Add the tomatoes and saute until it comes as a gravy.
Now add the Batch-1 marinated chicken into the pan and little water. Let it boil until chicken is cooked.Cut Chicken into medium size pieces, wash and allow to drain on a colander. Wash the Palak well and allow to drain.

Funny thing is i use these spices daily minus the ginger, green chili & coriander( which would be for specific dishes) & i never used mustard oil before either. I rarely use tomato paste or tomatoes, but you can achieve the red color in your sauce by using Annatto powder. The health benefits of annatto are really great to….i put it in almost everything. I will try thing recipe, Thank You

Chef your recipes looks OK but I think your oil shld be reduced. The chicken also releases oil while cooking n the minit you add the palak you can visually see the oil n the palak separating andthebpalak has changed to brown Otherwise it looks good. Tq Chef

Tip: keep the water you used to blanch the spinach…soo you can use it to add water to curry instead of using new water. Most the vitamins are in the water you blanched the spinach in

After blanching the spinach we rise it in ice cold water in our restaurent.
This helps the spinach to retain its dark green colour which is lost if blended when hot

I made this, and it’s delicious! In the UK, I’ve eaten this in Indian restaurants as Hiriyali Murgh Massala and they added capsicum to it. I guess every chef has his own take on the recipe, but this is the closest I’ve found to it it’s absolutely stunning!

I made the gravy seperately and marinated and seared the chicken pieces separately before adding it to the gravy. That way, the chicken has a better flavour and is perfectly cooked.

I will not call it a palak chicken. I would not mix chicken which will overpower the dal sabji. Hi Angela, I just made this and it turned out well. I just wanted to point out that in you blog you mention in Step 2, adding cumin seeds. That’s a typo as cumin seeds are not mentioned in the video or in the ingredient list. You must have meant cloves. I made this dish yesterday but unfortunately the dish turned out dark green checked on Google the palak should be blanched only for 30 secs n then plunged in icewater for 2 mins. Sometimes homecooks should give correct info re their tips or cooking

You blanched the spinach and soaked it in ice bath for 5 minutes…..all the water soluble Vit A and Iron in the Spinach went down the drain! All you were left is with some roughage in Spinach.

I made this dish tonight, and used black cumin seeds (shahi jeera) as she instructed. Thank goodness I tasted the masala before I put the chicken in it was disgustingly bitter! I tasted a few of the black cumin seeds, and it was the culprit. Thank goodness I did not waste the chicken. I am going to redo this tomorrow with regular cumin seeds. Unfortunately I wasted over an hour with preparations and masala cooking… oh well, lesson learnt!
