If you eat 100g of carbs a day what are your macros? How many percentage of fats you eat and protein? Im quite living a sedentary lifestyle for 2 weeks because im on a fertility treatment. Walking is just allowed as a wrorkout.
I’ve been low carb/ketogenic for a year and a half now. Honestly, I wouldn’t be doing it if I were at a healthy weight. It’s not that the diet is difficult or that I feel particularly deprived; I just love fruits, veggies, legumes and grains. I have to watch my veggie intake to a certain degree too, which can be hard (my raw carrots! ;;). In my experience, it also really limits your options when eating out and in snacking basically, if you want it, you make it yourself.
However! As a weight loss tool, the low-carb diet is very effective. I’ve lost 120 pounds/60 kg so far on it. So, for anyone looking to slim down, I would definitely do some research and try it out.

I’m 6 feet, 350 pounds and have decided to get a hold of my life and take control again. i just checked the calorie calculator and i found out i can eat 3600 calories to maintain my weight…lol. I hope in 3 years time, i can get ripped and be the alpha male I’ve always wanted to be. much love from Africa…Ghana precisely. It’s really difficult to eat healthy in a cultural setting where 95 percent of our meals are heavily carb based. Still gotta try though.

Hi Dr. Nick. What about the carbs on protein? Is there a significant amount of carbs on beef, chicken, or pork? If so, then you have to include that in your carb daily allowance, right?

I’m down 13 Ibs over the last 3 weeks. After falling off for so so long. I stay under 100ish carbs most days. And I feel great when I do this. Lost 50 lbs using this basic method before. Gain some back after dealing with depression for a bit after my grandpa death. But I’m back in my journey. I’m 237 trying to get under 200 by the end of the year.

Could you do a video on how much Keto desserts (cakes, cookies breads etc) should be consumed using these carbs. The you tube and Facebook are just full of desserts. How will these affect those new to keto or maybe not so new, and trying to break their cravings for sugar.

Only thing is I dont eat dried fruit or any fruit besides berries here and there.. my carb source would be sweet potatoes or beans generally..too much carbs gives me bad habits

Hey Brix u have really helped kick off my weight loss I started at 337 pounds I’m down to 216 pounds still have a lot of fat around abdomen. Question as u continues does people’s abdomen normally come back flat even with the extra skin or is there a possibility u could have so much extra skin that still looks like your full of fat in your lower abdomen. I sometimes eat a slice of sourdough bread for carbs and it doesn’t trigger any sibo symptoms for me plus it helps keep healthy weight on me. Is the sourdough bread bad long term?
I have been doing keto for 2 months now, and I have found I can only have about 15 net grams or so. Any more than that and I don’t seem to loose anything, I am seriously considering doing a carnivore died for a for a few months. Almost all of my carbs are from veggies. The rest are from things like eggs and cream that still have a few carbs. Any suggestions?

I’ve been doing low carb for 2.5 weeks and I’ve lost 13.6 pounds. I track my calories and carbs I stay at 1000 under my maintenance amount and between 50-75 carbs per day. It’s been really easy and I didn’t have the “low carb flu” for more than a day. With this kind of eating will I be able to see sustained weight lose the ought the year? Also, I am 35, male, 6′ 4″ and started at 450 pounds. I’m trying the lose the first 100 pounds by next April.

Okay so I need 121 grams of protein, and also for me, no more than 80 grams of carbs. I feel great when I have 80 grams of carbs.
High fiber is highly debated. There are studies that show negative effects of fiber. My wife and I have been keto for 4 years with NO fruits or vegetables and we have no bowel issues and our blood work looks awesome. Too many people blindly advocate high fiber which I think is a bit negligent. Dr. Berg always advocates 10 cups of vegetables daily which is just ridiculous. Our bodies cannot digest fiber and plenty of butyrate can be consumed from full fat dairy, especially butter. Studies also show that fiber DOES NOT prevent cancer. Do your research people. Plenty of well done studies out there. Most fiber studies cited by people trying to convince you of how good fiber is are Epidemiological studies which are very poorly done. Too many confounding factors with these types of studies.
Thanks for breaking this down for us. I was one of those people who were scared to death of carbs. I mistakenly thought that only low carb diets were effective. But I found out that as long as I keep my carb percentage at about 25-30% I can still lose weight! That is so liberating! And it is so much more sustainable than super restrictive low carb diets. I have a long way to go, but I am gonna continue to track my calories and macros and lose the rest of this weight!!

According to the.75 rule and simple calculator math, with my weight I should be eating 294 grams of protein a day. I can’t even get over 115 If I’m lucky. I don’t live an active lifestyle, I mean I exercise 30-40 minutes a day but other than that it’s mostly sitting. How much protein do I need if I live a somewhat sedentary lifestyle?

There is no debate on the fact that low carb = low insulin = fat loss. High carb does not work for the majority of people when it comes to weight loss. Higher fat also = satiety and a lot more flavour in food.

Love your channel, but there is conflicting information about somatotypes (endo, ecto, mesomorph) and its value. Some fitness personalities say that the body type theory didnt even originate in fitness but from a psychologist who was trying to relate body types to personalities. So this may have to be a theory that requires more research as to its worth in fitness. Again, I love the content and this wasnt a criticism of you.

I do the 16/8 diet but 2 to 4 days a week eat pinto beans eat up to a pound a day some days there not keto friendly but national geographic did a study where people from all parts of the world lived to be over 100 had in common bean consumption beans also prvent insulin spiking from other meals called the 2nd and third meal effect great fiber and very filling especially homemade chili with grass fed ground beef cayenne pepper and turmeric and pink salt to season with a cup of bacon grease
