I think people who are saying she is wrong didn’t listen to the entire video. The message was “juicing makes it easier to over consume”. So your takeaway should be that if you’re looking to have a caloric deficit or lose weight, be mindful of how many calories you’re actually consuming versus what it feels like you’re consuming. Sort of how you can end up drinking a lot more alcohol if you’re doing a mixed drink versus straight. Same sort of high level concept.

…..The point of juicing for health, is to juice mainly vegetables (and maybe adding a small amount of fruit to sweeten if need be). Juicing veggies is extremely healthy and good for so many issues. I would be very very wary of anyone saying otherwise

Very good video! Well I use a tsp of the pulp in my freshly squeezed juice. Flavor alone is unmatched by anything. Extremely refreshing. Seems to me fresh fruit and vege juice (yes in small quantities) is very, very satisfying.

True but the same cannot be said for vegetables (sans carrots) Vegetables are very healthy to be juicing.
Three good fruit juices, with some celery juice and coconut water for a fast day is not going to hurt anyone. And the calories burned from digestion is usually more than the fruit itself.

The drinks that you are showing are not regular fruit juices. The minute maid drink is not what I would call juice. It is a juice drink with added sugar.. What do you drink on a normal day?
Y’all need to relax, she’s not saying there’s anything wrong with fruits. When you make orange juice you use like 4 or so oranges to make one cup of juice, which is a whole heap of sugar. This compared to just eating one orange which gives you just enough sugar.

One thing to mention about orange juices…Orange juice from the grocery store is not fresh unless you buy juice that has literally been squeezed from an orange. They sale this at HEB here in Texas. They even have to put a warning label on it because it is so fresh and have to caution people since it isn’t going through a cleaner and is unpasteurized. Fresh squeezed orange juice only has a 12 day refrigeration life. I don’t drink it anymore because it has too much sugar like soda. But I personally think freshly squeezed is so much better!

I read the book “Squeezed” by Alissa Hamilton and was shocked to find that a bottle of orange juice even though it says “not from concentrate,” has sat in a large vat for up to year with all the oxygen removed from it. This allows it to be preserved and dispensed all year-round. Taking out all the O2 also gets rid of all the flavor. So the juice makers have to add the flavors back in using preformulated recipes full of chemicals called “flavor packs.”

For anyone trying to lose weight (such as myself), the worst thing u can do is drink ur calories. This includes frappes, lattes, sodas, and most juices. Your best alternative is water and if it gets boring, get creative with lemons, mint and cucumbers. Save ur calories for real food.

Becca, just curious about HPP. Does it prevent listeria? I am currently pregnant and our OB said to look for milk and cheeses that were pasteurized and to make sure and wash all fruits and vegetables carefully because the chance of contracting listeria is higher in pregnant women. Thanks!
I work for a juicery that makes cold-pressed juices. Since switching to using HPP, juices last 3-4 weeks if unopened and properly refrigerated. Once they are opened, they last about a week because the flavor of the juice starts to change. Hope this was useful!

OMG I always grab a naked juice and maybe because I assume it’s awesome because of the servings of fruits and veggies listed on the side, I’ve never looked at the sugar content! ( and I am a huge ingredient list reader ) I think I just had a break up with Naked.

we juice ourselves every morning. Easy way to get in all our fruits and vegies..especially for our kiddos:) But I always worry about fiber. I think we are going to switch to smoothies for awhile:) And I always think about sugar levels. We try and do all veggies with one fruit added to make sweet.

If someone drinks 100 % juice, it is not unhealthy. I just watched one of your other videos. You were drinking coffee which is worse than fruit juice. It probably stains your teeth as well, You were also drinking alcohol. Real fruit juice is also healthier than alcoholl!

my brother and i grew up eating and drinking “everything”, except for junk food. We had orange juice, milk chocolate,….just name it! Now i am 41 and my brother is 47. We are physically fit and healthy.
