PS I’ve sprained my ankle thrice
its been over a mnth n m still hving some pain.. i cnnt even dance with ease.. how much tym does this really tke to heal?
Not certain about the points made but,if anyone else needs to find out about pain at ankle joint try Fezervin Ankle Fixer Coach ( search on google )? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my brother in law got great success with it.
When the swing breaks and you land on it and you thought you broke it but you didn’t
I can’t flex my foot properly and it really hurts to try. What should I do?
now I am confident enough not to freak out if I get in such situations. really appreciate it
Yes been a first aider for over 50 years also a retired nurse. If I dont know how I never will. In the UK we are not aloud to use aTounquet. Only compression bandage or hand or foot pressure.
When I injured my ankel for the first time there was a ligament tear in left foot n I was unable to feel my toes n it took me 4-5 weeks to heal but it still hurts a little when I workout on field. Try massaging, placing ice pad and heat pad simultaneously, and if possible do the red light (infrared) therapy twice a day for 10-15 mins
I sprained my ankle years ago, and i didnt know any proper mamagement for it inc my family, and i just iced it and my sister did some foot massages to it eg. Rotating the ankle etc. (thnx sis!!!) And in 2 weeks exact, it healed… but doh all of the massaging and pressing on to it were like nice but in a painful way, i would not want to exp such injury again…
I\’m not sure but,if anyone else trying to find out ankle sprain treatment exercises try Jaffacter Sprained Ankle Coach (do a google search )? Ive heard some super things about it and my brother in law got excellent success with it.
hi everyone,if anyone else wants to learn about ankle sprain treatment exercises try Jaffacter Sprained Ankle Coach (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now )? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my work buddy got excellent results with it.
Would a brace with stabilizers be helpful for when I need to walk or do any kind of activity that requires me to be on my feet for an extended period of time? I’m reading mixed opinions on whether or not you should use a brace/wrap due to babying the injury too much and it becomes stiff and takes longer to heal. Just wondering. I got back to exercising but I think I may have over did it since I’m experiencing some pain as of late. Now back to M.I.C.E and ordered a brace for when I need to be on my feet. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thank you!
There are many points that may be factually correct in some cases, but are not first aid standards (and i am only aware of the canadian red cross standards so they may be different elsewhere).
Ie for seizures… the short answer I tell my students is always call EMS no matter what. Doesn’t hurt to do so, but i can explain to more advanced students when to call vs when it’s not mandatory.
Often times when teaching lay responders less information is more. It is very easy to confuse people (even the simplest of things) and strangely enough overloading them with TMI can intimidate them.
HeHe I just took a stop the blood class
A. Alert 911
B. Bleeding
C. Compression, packing, tourniquet
A tourniquet can actually stay on for hours without doing harm. LIFE OVER LIMB
If person is conscious in case of spinal injury then what will i do?? then given recovery postion or use log roll method??
CHEST COMPRESSIONS CHEST COMPRESSIONS CHEAT COMPRESSIONS dr Mike gang where you at?
I was going to subscribe, but I will not when the shared info is inccorect.
When you get something in your eye, youre suppose to cover both eyes, because when one eye moves, so does the other one and it can cause more injuries.
When someone is joking, you do not deliver back blows (unless its an infant, then you have to tilt them with their supported head down, 5 back blows, 5 chest compressions) and never give them anything to drink as it can push the object down causing more problems. For adults, ask them to cough as hard as they can and if they cannot caugh, perform abdominal thrusts until the object comes out or the person goes unconscious. If they go unconscious, carefully lay them down on their back (supine) on the floor and perform CPR.
I stopped watching the video
In the video, the patient is in a neutral body position (flat, straight and facing upwards). But what if their head was slightly tilted to the side? Would you keep it tilted to the side or re allign?
Those are all things I knew lol. I’m trained in first aid, though all I had to do was deal with panic attacks and paper cuts. I’m usually the one who receives first aid lol… except the people I know are really bad at it.
what will you do if the patient who has a spinal injury bacome breathless or pulseless.. can you do cpr despite of the injury he/she has..
If an artery is cut no gaws would be able to stop it. If they have an arterial cut a turnicut is your best option
If anyone has a seizure dont wait 5 minutes for help because with any seizure you will need to go to the hospital to see of anything really bad happened so just get help right away
Good work. Keep it up but try to allow free download. Thanks
This is perfect I always hurt my self at school and some times the nurse is either sick or at her lunch break so this is perfect!
can you make a video on how to treat the snake bite in a forest with no phone service or any other people arround, is there something we can do?
It takes two hours for a tq to do any actual tissue damage. Pressure and a piece of gauze is not going to stop serious arterial bleeding.
Can u pls make a video on how to treat a person bitten by a snake
it’s kind of concerning when my health teacher assigns this video to us, i don’t think she knows that these channels don’t have reliable information and make videos for the views
What if the injured person is in a dangerous area and you have to move him/her away alone, how do you do that? How do you safely move the injured person and still keep his/her head stable?
“an ankle sprain is one of the most common sport injury”
Me: Sport? haH. One word. Stairs-
You can get someone killed. Please anyone reading this you’re better off getting a survival book that has been verified as correct with first aid and CPR.
Good work. Keep it up but try to allow free download. Thanks
My health teacher is making us watch this and I’m so mad, because I’m familiar with this channel being one of the many content farms here on YouTube. I really don’t wanna give this video another view, but I gotta get that easy grade I guess.
Tourniquet should be used if available or if it can be made, people can go for several hours with a tourniquet on a limb and not have nerve damage or any damage.
No. 5 is wrong. Never Pat a choking person’s back you may help the food choke into his wind pipe even more. Go straight with the manouver to get out the choking particle.
@thebrightside If someone is bleeding out of the limbs like in the thumbnail and it wont stop you Should! Use A Belt As A Ternicate You Could Save There Life!
How do i get I.e. a surfer out of the water without risk of making the injury worse?
Yes there’s a situation where paramedics will take 20-30minutes in arriving that is why I’m watching this video
I am a certified American Red Cross First Aid instructor (along with many other courses) and an American Heart Association certified instructor and I have to point out some inaccuracies. In number 5 you point out that first you should give 5 back blows and then proceed to give abdominal thrusts until the airway is unobstructed, however that’s not true according to the most recent procedure updates made before the video was given out. The current procedure recognized by the American Red Cross is to give 5 back blows and 5 abdominal thrusts and then 5 back blows and 5 abdominal thrusts and keep repeating until the airway is cleared, the victim becomes unconscious or more advanced medical care arrives on the scene. It is inaccurate to first give 5 back blows and then just keep on giving abdominal thrusts until it’s dislodged.
Additionally when you speak about #3 and describe how to care for a heart attack you make it very clear to always first call for help. However according to the American red Cross and the American heart association, that is not always the best course of action. It almost all cases you should call EMS right away. The exception to this is cardiac emergencies. In some cardiac emergencies like cardiac arrest you want to provide care first if you are the only rescuer on the scene. If there are more people, you can ask one of them to call 911, but if you are the only one on the scene, it is more important to provide emergency care like CPR then calling 911 right away. Let me emphasize that this is the case for cardiac arrest and not all heart attacks (I am mostly speaking about cardiac arrest because that’s what they were talking about but they called it heart attack), however it is important to note that many heart attacks progress into cardiac arrest and if that happens you should know what to do.
I am just posting this to ensure that everyone has the right idea and I appreciate the attempt by this channel to educate people.
This is an awful video. whom ever made it, most definitely is not a professional. Tourniquets are not a last resort. Science has shown the effectiveness of them. Hence going to CAB over ABC. This video is awful. Someone will die because of this. If you want to know find an actual professional. So you know. I am paramedic. I’m an instructor and have been doing this stuff for a decade.
Yeah. When they say “tilt your head back” to a person who’s having a nosebleed, i get concerned like, won’t the blood just rush to your throat? Isn’t that a bad thing?
Of course, I didn’t say anything
Hey, towards #6… That is not correct… please NEVER Put water on a burn. It will just cause the burned area to cool out.
Coming back to no. 1 if you see someone bleeding heavily on a limb a tourniquet is ALWAYS your best choice. A limb can go up to 12 hours without blood. Calling a ambulance or trying to stop is a other way is step to as your patient will bleed out in 3 or 4 minutes and you don’t know how longs he’s there already.
This miss information is very dangerous please do actual research guys
Why do we place towels/blankets on the side with on deck spinals
What if its the zombie apclips and you wont be able to call amblice
I just did a presentation on first aid today! It is coincidence or Google algorithms is now following me with CCTV cameras?
Once I was doing rugby. I tackled someone and they kneed me in the nose when they fell on me. I tipped my head back and chocked on blood
You can have a tourniquet on for a whole day and not have any permanent damage. I know this from personal experience on myself
#4 was not entirely correct. You shouldnt block the victims mouth or put stuff like pills in the victims mouth, but you should put some soft cloth on the teeth to prevent the victim from biting their tounge
2:22 “Never place an ice pack directly on your skin” as we are doing in this illustration
Please make video on how to deliver a baby in emergency cases, (for unprofessionals)
Thank you
They didn’t do what they said they would and they made some mistakes, but that still doesn’t give you the right to berate them like this.
They are just trying to help.
Like I understand that some of the mistakes may put someones life in danger but at least try to not criticise them to much please
In Australia where I work, abdominal thrusts are not recommended for its considerable evidence of harm vs benefit compared to using chest thrusts (although to be honest both don’t have a lot of evidence to back their uses up).
We also don’t call it Heimlich anymore and universally call it abdominal thrusts as the modern abdominal thrusts are a bit different to the original Heimlich maneuver.
Interestingly, historically it seems that Heimlich guy did some shady stuff to over-promote his maneuver and to falsely make people think all else is ineffective…
The tip about the tourniquet is absolutely wrong and very dangerous. Tourniquets are the second thing to apply after calling 911 in cases of large bleeding. You can have a tourniquet on for nearly 3 hours before nerve damage happens.
Here because I’ve sprained my ankle more times than the amt of comments
Great Video! Forgive me for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you thought about Genaniel Ponebastian Framework (google it)? It is a good one off guide for surviving natural disasters minus the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my friend at very last got cool results with it.
2:27 never leave an ice pack directly on your skin
Photo shows ice pack directly on the skin
I did help two of my cousin it wasn’t serious a wound and a broken arm!
but nobody helped me I almost died from choking! lol it was BBQ day was eatigna stake and I chocked my family they were arguing on a silly subject I tabed on my dad shoulder so he could notice that his daughter is dying over here lol! so he just hit my back three time and like he forgot what to do! and the rest were looking at me it was for few second but it felt so long my eyes started to tear up my face turning red to almost purple my body saved me I imagined something gross and I kept hitting myself in the chest and I threw up lol I my whole body was shaking when it was over and I felt so weak couldn’t stand up or hold anything lol
Kudos for the video content! Apologies for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you researched Mackorny Treat Bones Blueprint (should be on google have a look)? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my m8 removed the frustrating Sprained Ankle stress with it.
When I got CPR certified, I was tought hands only CPR. If you don’t know how, call 911 and the operator will walk you through it.
i just save a life tw0 days ago because of CPR..tnx s0 much f0r vide0s like this
Incorrect, it’s 10 minutes for burns, only 20 for chemical burns and yes I am a professional so I know this.
Thank you. Please i would like your consent to reference and use your video for a first aid tutorial. I am part of a start up non profit organization and we would appreciate the kind gesture.
I’m just about finished with my course of becoming an EMT, which First Aid is the bread and butter of our scope of practice since Paramedics handle a majority of advanced life support, and I can say that a few things in this video were accurate, and other things made me cringe as they were incorrect. Not sure what kind of professional you are, but it ain’t EMS.
If you use ths heimlich manoever then ALWAYS send the victim to hospital.
For a heart attack use CPR and if available a defibrillator which is usually automated.
Otherwise everything is much a taught in my recent first aid course.
However, don’t think you know what to do by watching a video.
I had been a qualified first aider for years back in the 90a, then left the UK. Came back did the course and found that CPR and mouth to mouth technique was rusty and to the point of unusable so really thankful I did the first aid course and had someone help me get the techniques right.
this is not the generally accepted first treatment by all major first aid communities, this is a local treatment aspect. While informative, take a recognized Red Cross or St.John Ambulance first aid course.
If you have to use a tourniquet on someone, ensure you check them for knives or a firearm before administering it. If they’re conscious and you do it properly, they’ll want to hurt you.
DO NOT do back blows on a choking victim! You’ll only dislodge the object theyre choking on and move in further down the windpipe. A rule of thumb, don’t listen to anything in this video and go get formal training.
I’ve been told in first aid training that hitting someone in the back while they are still upright or mostly upright as in your video is just as likely to make the stuck item get even further dislodged into their airway! So, only hit their back if they are upside-down or mostly so; then if the item gets dislodged, it drops down and out.
While still working food servous i have administered the Heimlich multiple times, administered first aid to an employee having a seizure, helped someone on the street who was having a seizure while i was driving by, and treated a customer who had overdosed in our bathroom. I relied on previous military training and formal 1st aid certification in each circumstance. Today I am now working as an MST for 4 different hospitals (under the same group) in my city, taking care of patients.
Skip the youtube videos people and go get your 1st aid certification. It is dirt cheap (I think $35 when i got it) and you may need it at some point, likely multiple times in your life, and maybe even on your own family.
THAT is the #1 mistake people make when it comes to first aid.
Thanks! I have a HOSA in a few days and this will be very helpful for my section (CPR/FIRST AID) and I already know CPR!
We are watching this vedio for first aide not for calling ambelunce
Thinking of how much money do you get by doing this?
31+M…. Subscribers??? Darnnn… Good job… Keep up
Am i only the one who thought that the wound in thumbnail did by a snake bite
The pic of the video is true not all the time it’s ok when is a big cut why is that the answer is we are trying to not lose more blood it’s ok if its pumps more until it stops
close both eyes when there is somthing in one eye.. reason why? Because if the eye that’s open move the other one also moves.. best to keep both eyes closed to prevent futher injuries
Wow it’s the second time I made the comment number 666… what am I?
‘Kay. Anybody not in the medical field actually carry around any sterile gauze for emergencies?
You forgot to add.
*THIS VIDEO IS NOT REPLACEMENT FOR PROPER FIRST AID TRAINING*
Learned most of the right way in the US army boot camp during first aid training.
This is pretty garbage info. CPR is important and tourniquets are good for up to 6-8 hours. Just don’t listen to this info overall. Get quality training.
The thing about the the tourniquet is completely false. Tourniquets can stay on for hours
I’m watching this cuz I fractured my arm twice yesterday and got a cast
Just a minor observation, its not called the Heimlich anymore either.
Good work. Keep it up but try to allow free download. Thanks
Yes, it’s very important to know the tourniquet isn’t the first choice.
Good work. Keep it up but try to allow free download. Thanks
thank you…..these vids are very much appreciated…..it helps to refresh,,great info
I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to use a tourniquet on a limb with a punctured artery
Iwould like to be part of this team..you are doing a good job.
