it hurts if I have a ball between my legs and i try to squeeze it. and sometimes it hurts when I do weighted squats and legpresses if my leg/knee positionen isn’t perfekt. But I can do very heavy weight withouth pain. sometimes the pain reaches above my d*ck area.

Thanks for the tips guys! Thirty years ago, I had medial epicondylitis from aggressive windsurfing, and a therapist used ultrasound to speed the healing. I just got another case of it in my left epicondyle, not nearly so severe, from some repetitive digging a couple of weeks ago. I will use your ideas and hope that it will clear up at home, as it is not a severe case like it was thirty years ago. I have dumbbells at home, so will do some of the forearm curls as you showed. Will doing forearm curls with dumbbells actually make me less susceptible to future episodes of medial epicondylitis?
I was running with a parachute on my back and I instantly felt a pop in my groin area and got the floor. I practiced on it for two months but it hurt to walk and lift my leg at all. I do not know how I managed to practice that long on it but sometimes I feel a lot of pops in my leg

Very nice technique, thank you. However, the majority of people with shoulder tendonitis whether it is supra or infraspinatus or even long head biceps hurt a lot to bring their arms in those rotational positions. I often modify that technique slightly or rest their arms on a cushion so they are able to at least tolerate the position for a quick taping job.

i have a problem since 9 months,when ever i used to walk i got stuck to the road my leg not move upward correctly. while running with full momentum i used to felt down over the ground and i got disbalanced. for sudden while sleeping my leg used to shake and some times when i wake up in the morning and try to walk its feel like some body is holding my thigh.

I broke my ankle recently and got my cast off recently yesterday I was on my crutches and my crutch slipped on something I fell to the floor now my knee all the way up to the thigh idk what I’ve done but I can barley move it and it sticks out when I try and put it straight a bit if it’s still bad I’m going to go to the hospital where I broke dosnt hurt it’s just my knee do u know anything I can do?

I’ve injured my hip I think while working out legs… Now I have pretty bad pain in that area you show in the video. I noticed that what hurts the most is when I bring my feet close together when standing, and then try to move the foot forward from that position i get huge pain through the inner side of my foot up to the hip.. Even above the right hip some strange pain..

I have glute pain and have for quite some time. I recently had an ultrasound and was told I have calcium build up on my adductor magnus. Every article or video I look up for the adductor magnus points out the groin, but my pain is in the glue:|
from personal experience..i recommend you do an MRI, sometimes a groin hernia can be disguised as an adductor strain, and vice versa. I know that it is often said that hernias will have a bulging, but thats not necessary in its early stages.

Hi John, I play Ice Hockey and have had groin problems for 1 year now. It will be sore just from walking around, other days it is fine. I have doscomfort in the upper 1/3 of the groin. Should i be focusing on stretching and strengthening, or just stretching? Does my core strength effect at all my prolonged injury? My hips/hip flexors are also very tight and I have a feeling it all pulls on each other. Any suggestions or recommendations help a lot. I will soon be seeing my university’s athletic trainer a few times a week to get help.

Bob and Brad, referencing your opening ‘ A One Hour Workout is 4% of your day. No Excuses’, I just want to point out that since most people sleep 6 to 8 hours and many work and commute for 9 to 10 hours, the one hour workout is usually 7 to 10% more than you suggest. Don’t get me wrong, I agree that an hour a day workout instead of watching TV is a good thing to strive for.
I have this real bad forever in both elbows. I do not play golf or throw anything. I think it is from carrying heavy groceries since bags are illegal here you have to buy bags so they fill them too full.

I’ve been feeling some light pain in my inner elbow when flexing my forearm and doing bicep curls (for about 2 months now)… I think I’ve got it from pull ups/chin ups with improper form and insufficient warm-up. My question is: is it safe to perform push ups, or any pushing exercise for that matter, when having medial epicondylitis? For the past 2 months I haven’t stopped training (I do fitness mostly) and the pain slightly worsened, so now I am determined to stop and concentrate on the healing. But I’d still try to do push ups, over-the-head presses, tricep extensions etc. (exercises that don’t cause any pain). Do you believe it’s safe? Thank you a lot!

Hi I hurt my inner supporting groin muscle on my leg doing Side Kick drills in Tae Kwon Do class. It’s been 13 months and I had a Orthopedic do an MRI and he said I didn’t need surgery(this is 6 months into it after I just tried to rest for a few months then rehab on my own). He sent me to physical therapy which because of scheduling took a couple months to start. So after 4-5 months of PT it is stronger but still hurts when I try to do the Side Kicking move to get back to class. I’ve been training on and off for 20+ years prior to injury with never an injury to my groin. However when I was doing the drill I was coming back from a layoff and was heavier. I’m not sure if I should seek alternative treatment like acupuncture but while it’s stronger it’s still a sharp pain when ever I kick higher than mid level and sharp pain until I get warmed up. Please advise me on any ideas of treatment. I am in my mid 40’s.

I have no health insurance and I’m looking for a athlete’s tape solution to patch up my left shoulder. You know how skate boarders hitch on the beds of moving trucks to get a tow? Well I was doing that on a bicycle, as I’ve done numerous times before, only this time the truck I hitched(hooked my left hand to) accelerated too fast and it seemed to have pulled a muscle in my shoulder, it’s been over a month and the pain is not going away, worse when stretch(like putting my arms up behind on my head)
Oh wow! I originally thought I had tennis elbow and had been doing some of your exercises, and icing and heating. I had some relief, but I didn’t have the pain in the same places you described. I thought it was Pseudo-Tennis Elbow. The pain was mostly on the inside though, the medial. So I’m relatively confident now that it is GOLFERS Elbow. And wow, what a difference! Now after watching this video and doing the forearm massage as you instructed I immediately have relief. I felt the numbness and pain relief just as described. I’m sorry (and I’m far from a skilled Person in areas of chiro, physio, Dr, etc ) but I really do beg to differ on the people that say this method to aid and support sports beings doesn’t work. I’m very sorry and maybe there is no science, but proof is in the pudding. This works!! Whether a contribution from the placebo effect maybe a factor, just in being an engineer myself and understanding the skeletal muscle system a reasonable amount, how can it not help? You are effectively creating a temporary band of muscle/tendon’ for strength and support; you are effectively adding a layer of skin (tissue) which makes the area more solid supportive and robust.
You are giving The injured area (where ever that may be ) the flex, elasticity and strength that the torn or ripped muscle cannot and to a lesser degree preventing the damaged muscle from working in overload; allowing it to repair.
Using this tape in my sports, teachings and action life has enabled me to do many things (when injured) I could not have without applying it and would have had to have waited a lot

Life and for many athletes or outdoor people that is value number 1!

Yesterday I streached my legs and then my left leg popped Ifelt down and then I couldn’t stand on it nor sleep. It’s now one or two days and I cannot walk on it its nit the frist time it happens if it happenes like q5 minutes ot go but this time it didnt I felt on my knees so is this a broken leg? Or it will be healed like months? Plus if I want to walk it hurts also, if I put my leg down on the floor and I wanna walk it hurts if i sit no problem is this normal? Thanks for understanding.

hi, so about a week ago i was outside with my friends, we were in the cold we were playing with the volleyball and then we were kicking it, i wasent kicking hard at all it was just a soft one im fact i was using my other leg more. i barely moved around or ran it was a small jog (less then a warm up pace) and it was so cold i couldent feel anything at all. when we went inside and got warm i felt dull pain on my right groin. the next day i felt a pericing feeling but it didnt hurt and ever since that day ive been feeling it but it doesent hurt but i can tell its there so wht should i do? i run track and the season is about to start and i have practice Tuesday and i really wanna participate as my last year as a senior, its been a struggle. thank you

From time to time when stretching it “pops” painfully and significant bruising occurs. If I leave it alone, it remains painfully tight; if I try to stretch it seems to reinjure. Any advice? +John Gibbons thank you for the vid very educational… Im a baseball player and was diagnose w piriformis syndrome over 2 weeks ago… that same week the doc put me on corticosteroids to help with the swelling hence the pinching of my sciatic nerve, but I do still feel the pain when sitting down, not to mention is there if I try to run… my next season starts in 2 weeks so I tried using KT tape using your technique and KT tape is garbage! my wife applied it using their instructional vid w diff technique from yours and also used with your technique and the tape doesn’t stick.. even rubbing my buttock w alcohol!!! so what brand of tape are you using here? or what could we possibly be doing wrong?
Physical therapy is the most overrated treatment IN THE world. It just does not work. My soleus hurts, I can’t run and none of the exercises are working.
i fell from a skate ramp pretty hard yesterday and i can’t walk normally without feeling sore around the groin, thigh (and the bottom of my butt), i used cream but of course it still hurts. what should i do to recover?

I´d like to know why you choose to apply the chosen strecth in the first tape. Also, why are you starting close to the sacrum, and not close to the trochanter major. Are you considering that tape to be an inhibation? The last two bits, when applied that much stretch, i´ve learned that that is a compression of the tissue. Why would you chose to compress rather than a lift?

Hi John I need help!! I have been playing both rugby and soccer intensively and hurt my abductor but had to keep playing for the playoffs. I have partial tears in the supraspinatus, subscapularis and infraspinatus and bursitis. When I do this tape it addresses one problem area but I would still have pain in the two different areas.

thank you for the video. In the past, my chiropractor strapped my lower trap. For 20 years I have a problem with a firm knot in the muscle. It was restricting movement. She suggested tapping the area. After 4 days the muscle relaxed and has not returned to previous form. The same problem existed in my left shoulder. She taped that for me and the same positive result.
She did say it’s not clear why it works but suggested that the tape when applied as you have demonstrated gently lifts the skin from the fascia and permits improved blood flow and better lymph flow.
I am going to use it for a calf muscle I strained and look forward to a positive result. As an aside I am always curious why people write to forums they don’t agree with in such aggressive and profane terms. I mean come on. Even if taping were a phony solution, as they suggest, what’s wrong with spending a couple bucks to find out if it’s true.

The discomfort in my deep groin & the soreness & tightness in my adductors does subside after a few days but as soon as I try a run, it flares up again. Any suggestions?Thanks

Love your videos! I am in too much pain almost everywhere in my body, to try most of your exercises, and getting on the floor is out of the question, because I’d have trouble getting back up, lol. But when I saw the cross friction massage, I gave it a try. I didn’t know what my elbow pain was called, but I now think it’s “golfer’s elbow.”. I don’t golf, but bumped my left elbow on the inside of my car door a couple of times last January, and because of Newton’s law, I have bumped it a couple of times more inside my freezer, putting away groceries. Anyway, due to back problems, and several autoimmune diseases, and who knows what, I actually hurt terribly almost everywhere, but I thought massaging my painful elbow would be safe enough, and at least maybe I could help something feel better, so I gave it a try. My elbow was x-rayed a few months ago, and they didn’t see anything. But, when I massaged my elbow for a couple of minutes, I got a new, sharp pain that goes from approximately the outside bottom of my left scapula, straight down to the middle of the left side of my back, ending in the ribs somewhere. Sorry I don’t know the proper names for these things. I have learned from your show, if it makes it feel worse, Stop! So, I did. It’s a few hours later, and the new pain is still there. Not your fault, of course. I’m just wondering how just a little crosswise massaging caused this, if you know of something to help it (I figure time might), and does this indicate something about what’s causing my elbow pain, or pain in general, which my doctors seem clueless (or care less) about. I can’t take any pain relievers, and am 69, and have been in serious, constant pain for the last couple of years, so any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks a lot. No it doesn’t. It stretches the skin. It is not a brace. This isn’t even phiisiology. Or even engineering. It’s a fad promulgated by people who want to sell expensive sticky tape to anxious atheltes.

I have horrible pain in my levator scapulae and upper trap and goes down to bottom part of shoulder blade middle… my left shoulder is inflamed and twice the size as the right side and pushed forward noticeably will this help fix this? any reccomendations?

Super video, thanks a lot. I actually look for a good taping for my atrophy of the infraspinatus. Usually I do the Deltatape, I did myself also some sort of Infratape from the back and then to the front a few fingers below the tuberculum majus. I have to be able to apply the tape myself, so far it has worked, but I still miss stability for longer periods of doing things or doing exercises from overhead down. The tendons look fine, the labrum probably still a bit away from the glenoid, the tendon of the supraspinatus was partially ruptured.

I’ve been doing flooring for 20yrs, and had golfers elbow in the right arm 5 yrs ago. Got that one fixed with a prp injection. Worked great.
Now, I just went through a pinched nerve and had to depend on my left arm and now my left elbow has golfers elbow. With the pandemic going right now, cant get any physio or anything thus your videos have saved me a lot for this and the pinched nerve.
The cross friction massage feels great, and I’ve been stretching it wrong for a bit now so after watching this video, have corrected that and it feels much better to stretch it now. Thx for everything you guys do. Much appreciated. Hopefully I can resolve this so.
Again this method DOES NOT work. Start with no tension on Soleus ankle in plantar flexion. The anchor point of the initial tape needs to be on the heel otherwise there is NO bony landmark to help control the ground reaction forces.

Hello. Question for anybody. I have symptoms of golfers elbow. It feels like a tendon is out of that elbow groove and sliding over bone. Anybody suffer from that and what have you done to help it? This video helped a lot with moving in the right direction.
I found just a light touch back and forth over the arm helps to take the pain away also. Digging isnt always necessary

I followed the stretching exercise but injured the tendon or muscle. Then I had the wrist pain for two months and still did not recover totally. Maybe the wrist stretching exercise is not suitable for everyone.

Sports medicine? I had this off and on for 1 1/2 yrs. I had XRay which was normal. PA said it could be a muscle pull. Another said its the same thing as my knee. I am 74 otherwise in pretty good health. I have ostoarithritis in my left knee and this groin pain is in my right groin. When I get in and out of cars it’s painful and up from siting. Hello! I really need some help, and if you have the possibility to answer this question, it would help me a lot. Three weeks ago I strained my gluteus muscle, but at first I was feeling it in the joint and soon it extended in the glute. I didn’t start the treatment immediately, because I didn’t know that I had a muscle strain and I normally don’t like to stop when exercising, so I went on. After I made things worse I took it easy, so I didn’t do any strenuous activity but low to moderate impact, without any pain, I took ibuprofen and massaged my leg with ointments. I didn’t feel the pain these days, but a little discomfort if I tried to stretch my leg or put too much force on that leg, and after I was done with a martial arts practice, where I used my legs a lot, I started the feel the pain again, not at the initial rate, but I still can’t perform some of the exercises.. So what should I do to rehab fast? Is it okay to do some cardiovascular exercise as long as it doesn’t hurt, or yoga, or walking? I dont want to stop the activity, but I also don’t want to re-injure myself again, and I don’t know what’s best to do, so I really need some advice. I also mention that it doesn’t hurt when I stand, walk or run, it only hurts if I try to stretch my entire leg.

In hockey practice I tweaked my groin and was getting a sharp pain in the upper groin when I would try to turn and stuff. I rested for 4 days and then today tried to return, it felt good for a while at full speed and then about 45 minutes in I got the same sharp pain… I don’t really know what to do. After reading countless descriptions and watching a myriad of videos, I have to this day not seen one helpful piece of advice on how to prevent a frozen shoulder or impingement or call it what you will, all their seems to be is advice and videos on what to do when you have one. (A BIT LIKE LOCKING THE DOOR WHEN THE HORSE HAS BOLTED)
Some people say once you start to get that twinge or an impingement all you can do is let it develop and run it’s course, well that to me sounds a load of crap. I would think like a car it’s a matter of basic maintenance, and prevention being better than the cure. (and I don’t mean having a course of meds pumped into you via needles because I don’t think that helps at all.) Most of these self help videos, (and I say most and not all ) seem to be more interested in how many clicks and subscriptions they can get from people inevitably leading to revenue for the people posting such videos. Their are many unscrupulous people out their that use other peoples suffering as a way to make an easy buck, well I say shame on you, and what goes around comes around. One particular company which I will not name charges people upwards of 7,000 euros and more for a course of local anaesthetics and shoulder manipulations which takes about 2 hours with a follow up the following day. Now this person does on average 4 of these so called treatments a day so you can imagine how much money he’s making knowing full well how much people will pay to get relief from this awful affliction. The sooner the medical profession starts to take this condition more seriously, and more research is done into it thye better it will be for all.
Hello Mr john, id like to ask about your opinion on this, i injured my inner thigh/ groin area in left leg during soccer game, its quite normal to get injured in football, so i thought its just another mild injuy, it has been like 4 months now since the injury, if feel kind of stiffness all the time and discomfort / mild bearable pain when i squeeze my thigh inwards in standing position for last 2 months it was the case, until yesterday i was pushing something with my injured leg, i heared couple of snaps sound and today i feel a more relief, still some small pain and discomfort when squeeze it, but less compared with before the snaps sounds

“How I think it happened” I was wearing tight underwear and shorts and went to bed like that. The next day I was fine until I changed out of the shorts and put on some Jean’s. I’m not used to wearing tight cloths. At first I thought it was a hernia but I haven’t been doing any heavy lifting. The only thing I can think of is tendonitis from wearing tight shorts all night. If the elbow itself pretty much right on the bone is painful to the touch, is that likely golfers elbow? The elbow on the arm I don’t use hurts to lean on or if I bump it or even if I put pressure on it but that’s the only tine it hurts.
Has anyone who felt similar pain also found it difficult to straighten their arm full length and stiffness/swelling in inner forearm and biceps? God, mine started after Cobra pose but I also developed a cyst in my armpit at the same time. So I’m not sure if the two are connected or independent of each other. ♀️
I just discovered you guys, love this channel! I’m a 53 yr old with chronic medial epicondylitis…I would like to do exercises to firm up my upper arms but they all require repetitive bending that flares up my pain. Can you recommend any exercises to tone up my arms that won’t cause further pain!

From where you guys are pointing, it looks like the pain should be coming directly from the inside of the elbow itself. I’m experiencing tenderness around 2-3cm to right of the inside of the elbow… Is this still golfers elbow or just tendonitis?

It’s been a month and it still hurts a lot. I’m going to try these techniques. How long should one follow this protocol before concluding that the elbow is healing?

Hello! I need desperate help, here.
So I have spent three months stretching before being able to do the splits. I felt very achieved and proud of myself! I was able to do the splits numerous times that day and the day after, but after that, that’s when it things started getting bad. I tried doing it again, but my inner thigh, (near the private areas, to be exact), had a sharp pain. I still continued doing stretches but lightly. I Decided to take a break for four days, and today I had just started stretching even more lightly again. Now my inner thigh makes a sound similar to when you run your finger or something again leather or hard rubber, except quieter, and an occasional popping sound. I massaged it and it is getting only only a little better. I am afraid I will hurt myself if I keep pushinguself to stretch and that I will never be able to do the splits again, after three months of hard work. Did I push myself too hard? Should I see someone? Should I still continue to massage and lightly stretch? Please respond!

I have internal snapping hip severely since 21 it disabled me. I have severe pain in inner thigh, ischial tuberosity and a huge swollen greater trochanter 18 years. I got tired of going dr to dr and getting nowhere. So I tried to cope for many years with pain meds. But the pain was drilling on me and I can’t take it anymore. Most say internal snapping hip causes pain on side of leg which I get sometimes. But most all of th pain is inner thigh, ischial tuberosity and the most pain is greater trochanter what could be happening.
Great video. But I have pain just above elbow in muscle. And strange thing is there is no pain while hitting tennis forehand and backhand but have pain only while serving. Please elaborate and shoot video on this. Thanks.

Dear John, I hurt my groin muscles for about 4 days now… I do 100m track, I was playing table tennis for P.E at school and i think I over stretched my groin muscles as the pain is coming from there, I dont think I injured it severely as it was just low level table tennis. When I try to run at my full speed It hurts in my groin area also it hurts when I try to stretch my groins can you please reply ASAP as I have a athletics meet up next week

Recommend you go to a spine doctor to do an mri of your spine. Turned out after 4 years, i had two verbetraes completely out of alignment pinching on nerves. Had surgery, and that was the 29th doctor I saw. It is very common in people over 45. Dont delay get to a good spine doctor and dont rule anything underlying the cause of your pain.
A combination of turning wrenches and carrying heavy equipment did me in.
Just got diagnosed with BOTH Tennis and Golfer’s elbow in my left elbow. Overuse injury. Started out in both but the left didn’t get better. Had 2 cortisone shots and almost 3. Couldn’t grasp a water bottle or take a cap off it. Ironic enough, I wasn’t experiencing pain opening doors. Just picking up things like gallon of Tea or bottles. Did the RICE method, braces, and even apple vinegar cider. Exercises and stretches. 2 months of pain. Hoping the shots help soon.
Hello John,I’ve had an car accident, about 4,5 months ago. Havin a whiplash now (which i’m treated for). I’m working in daycare with children from 3-16 years old. All are physically disabled. It’s heavy work, now troubeling with stress and heavy headaches coming from my upperneck. (c1 or c2, not sure which one)Is easy taping an option for me, for more rest and support for my muscles? I recently have sustained a trap injury… on the exact same side as the model, and pain in the exact same spot!! My pain continues to radiate up the neck behind the ear and into my head…i was having migraine like headaches for 4 days straight after this injury anf nothing I took would take the migraine away!! I still am having alot of sensations in the head (like brain spasms)… is this normal due to this type of injury?

Can you get both golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow? Because by this time it really hurts everywhere

I got it from holding a focus mitt in my left hand while teaching martial arts. That, and probably a combination of overuse during weight-lifting and working on cars.

I have pain in my upper left trap (it almost goes up that side of my neck). However I only feel the pain when doing dips. Not whilst performing the rep, but once the pressure is removed at the end of the set.
Is there anything to stretch the upper trap/neck or do you have any idea what this could be?

I swim so I have Swimmer’s Elbow, just like Golfer’s Elbow. It only hurts when I do certain movements with pressure. I forget I have the (minor) pain then when I’m washing my hair or washing my face I feel it. Thanks!

I have gotten this bad from pulling heavy weight on a bar and not using full grip. When you use partial grip with only your fingertips, it pulls on the ring finger, where this tendon is connected to and causes unnecessary stress. Jeff Cavalier did a great video on this. just make sure you always use a full grip when handling weights.

I have Ankylosing Spondlitis and I’m kyphotic and fused from C1 to T12. My trapezous muscles hurt all the time from trying to hold up my head and correct posture. I have tried many things. It’s constant pain and my arms go to sleep all the time. I can lie down in bed and within 5 seconds my arms and hands start to tingle. Could this help someone that is completely fused and kyphotic?

First thing I tried when pulling my groin was to exercises it and stretch it, found out the hard way that is a no no. Walking makes it worse also. WHole hip feels out of place. Will just ice,elevate and rest it for now
My groind and abductor mucel is injured while playing football, seems I did not worm up enough and my abductor was little strained before couple of days… I kicked the ball strongly I heard pop sound and paing in the lower abdominal and abductor I ice it very well first 4 days I took some anti-inflammation and I went 6 times doing therapy in hospital.
It’s almost 1 month a little bit better but still can’t run fast but whenever I Do cracking sound comes still pain with some movments in lower abdominal and abductor.
Please advice!!
