I’m going to try quit drinking Coke, but I like to have the carbonated drink. One thing I like it Orange Pop, so what I am doing is drinking sparkling water with orange MIO Squirt, and I swear to god it tastes IDENTICAL to Orange Pop without all the sugar.

I’m not a big person, but I have noticed in the last few years since I’ve gotten older that I put on about 20 pounds that I haven’t been able to lose. I’m 34 now and I have always been a big soda drinker, mainly lots of mountain dew and dr. Pepper. I would drink soda pretty much all day long, everyday. Two weeks ago I decided to cut out soda completely. I still have my coffee on the morning but other than that I’ve only been drinking water. In just two weeks I’ve already notified a difference. I feel much lighter and I haven’t had my usual problems with being really bloated. In fact since I’ve quit the soda and started drinking lots more water, I haven’t woken up bloated once and that’s a huge deal for me. I’ve also noticed that my clothes are already fitting better.

From october 2019 to march 2020 i have lost 10lbs with 0 exercise when from 301lbs to 291lbs. Feel more energy and my skin looks better. Once i get to 285 i will do exercise and i hope to be lose huge amount of weight faster. No soda no juice and no sweets of any kind.

i was on a diet and i thought that drinking no calorie soda would be a good idea and i DID lose weight but the diet soda was horrible on my body! it gave me the boost i needed and tasted great but my bones and joints hurted a lot! my stomach was always gassy and my stomach was always bubbling. so no more fizzy drinks and my body healed itself real nice and now i feel a bit better!

Quitting soda will help with fat loss, not weight loss. There’s a difference. The weight people want to lose is body fat, not bodyweight.
Its not suger its youre bodys understanding of need of insulin, so suger or diett soda youre boddy dont notis the differanse.

I gave up drinking sodas for a month its a religion type of thing where u have to give up something for god so i gave up sodas tell Easter i lost weight on my face and i knew if i kept on going it would continue to go threw out my whole body so i decided that im giving up sodas for a year and i know i can stick with it.

You’re wrong about adding sugar to coffee is equal to soda. There is 39 grams of sugar in 12 oz of Coke with only 4 grams in a teaspoon of sugar(huge difference!). I’ve quit drinking 64 to 128 oz of energy drinks a day… replaced it with 2-3 cups of coffee a day with 1-2 teaspoons of sugar added. Want me to do the math? I was having 312 grams of sugar a day on average vs 10 grams a day now with coffee.

I used to drink about 2 liters of coke per day, and 6 weeks ago I quit drinking everything but water. Six weeks ago, I weighed 294, today I weigh 310, plus I have a tooth cavity. I guess my body just told me to eat more candy or sugar to make up for the sugar lost in the coke. I didn’t consciously make any changes except to quit drinking soda. I’m convinced that soda is no more dangerous than any other sugary food.
This is junk science. There is no scientific evidence that soft drinks are “toxic” or a “poison” or that anything over one per month is harmful.
They are empty calories and should be consumed, if at all, in small quantities. However, 150 calories a day-even in the form of liquid sugar-is not going hurt anybody, unless perhaps you are a diabetic.

I don’t totally agree with this video. It says consuming diet soda creates an increase in insulin. I am not usually hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) except when I quit drinking sodas I experience low blood sugar daily. I’v done it many times switching to water and every time I get low sugar so to me it says even diet sodas have sufficient fake sugars in it to not just “fool” your body to think it’s sugar but it actually is. Why else do I get hypoglycemic? Its not due to change in diet because I’m not on a diet. Just switched to water. Also, I don’t drink coffee, juice, energy drinks just diet pepsi and water.

There are times that I’ve tried quitting and then something happens and I crave it, almost like crutch. When that happens, is there anything you recommend instead? Would carbonated waters with stevia or something like that be good alternatives?
I stopped drinking any types of carbonated drinks 12 days ago and I felt lightness around my belly and i felt energetic every morning. I used to drink an 8oz of coke every afternoon, but due to my blood sugar problems(suspected type 2 diabetes), I decided to stop drinking these drinks. I added clean dieting also to my menu and I can see a bit of success by my mood every day. I’m gonna continue what I’m doing to avoid big diseases and to ensure also my long bright future.

my problem is i hate water. tastes like shit to me. On May 11 of 2017, I weighed 244 pounds. Today, September 1 of 2017, I weigh 227 pounds. All I did to lose this weight was not drinking soda. I didn’t even exercise. Before, I used to drink than a whole 3-liter of Cola every 1 to 2 days. I’m not gonna lie, at first it was rough. I would constantly crave it every day but around 2 weeks later, I stopped craving it. All I drink now is carbonated water, which is an excellent substitute for soda because it still gives you the fizzy feeling, and it’s 100 times better and healthier for you than soda.

its not soda thats bad but certain chemicals that some companies use.
if you have a soda stream and your making your own syrups or have a trusted syrup company it wont be bad on your body.
simple syrups are made simple-its when you put chemicals that are not needed in it that messes the syrup altogether.

I’m 18 days off of soda and chocolate. Watching this 400lbs plus guy I “work” with waddle back and forth to the soda machine disgusted me so much I knew I had to stop. I never even want to remotely resemble him!

Me, I’ve been fighting this battle for 15yrs+. I tried quitting numerous times. The headaches felt like someone was hitting me with a hammer. I always ran back to it. Longest i went without it was 2 months. But then i was stupid to think “hey it’s been a few months without it, just 1 won’t hurt”. And BAM, it grabbed me by the feet and pulled me back in. Few weeks ago i went 3 days without it until the hammer came pounding. I gave in . Now it’s been 2 days. This time I’m going to do everything in my power to not let it pull me back in. I see it as an evil monster that tortures me every day. I don’t want to say how much i drink but it’s bad. These past few days I’ve been drinking orange juice and water. My meals are now boring. Best part of every meal was the coke. Now i have to stop myself from crying when i drink water with my meals. Hell, i feel like I’m punishing myself by not drinking coke. When it’s actually a good thing! I want to get used to mainly drinking water. Then start bike riding again. Eating healthier! I want more energy! I’m tired of running on E all day at work. Tired of lying on my couch too tired to breathe. Always out of energy. But if i want a coke, then i jump off the couch and almost rip off the fridge door. When i go to parties, first thing i do is start asking people where the sodas are kept. If they tell me they don’t know, i just push them out of my way and ask the next person. Maybe that’s why people stopped inviting me . This is why i need to stop. I feel like I’ve tried everything but I’m still trapped. I’m even afraid of going to grocery stores because they have them at the checkout stations. And when i do go, i avoid the aisles where the sodas are kept. Because if i see them then i freeze up. I try to keep walking but my legs won’t move. So i just give in and grab a few 12 pks. This is serious! Can you imagine drinking a coke before going to bed? Waking up in the middle of the night and drinking a coke. Waking up in the morning and reaching for a coke? Coke coke coke. Word of the day, all day every day. Surprised i haven’t tattooed ‘coke’ on my arm. But like i said, I’m 2 days clean. I feel good, weird, nervous, scared. Will i give in tomorrow? The next day? Next week or next month? Or will i finally make my escape? It’s now or never!
I’m in my 3rd day. I’m practically sweating and tossing and turning. Hopefully it’ll pass.

I have to quit drinking soda and energy drinks because it’s a doctors order and I can have tea and water and coffee and I’m only on day 2 but I really only crave water is that weird or is it due to the mind set
I stopped drinking soda several times, only going 3 weeks, then gradually starting treating myself to sodas, & in no time, 1 to 3 a day. Once I went better than 6 weeks without. I’m attempting it again with hopefully a longer sustainable time. I’m about 3 weeks in now. I can’t say I actually felt better without, but definitely not worse. I want to see this time if my skin looks any different. (66 yrs old here) I hope to hold out, not only just soda, but junk food, anything with sugar, & processed foods. Not full on cold turkey, but very close with occasional slips. I have been experimenting in giving up other food & drink just to see if I can, & how I feel afterwards. The first 3 to 5 day is the worst, but it does get easier. I think about drinking soda alot, especially when its shared with other foods. I have learned that if you don’t bring it home, you can abstain. I could go on… Good luck & resist as much as possible, but don’t kick yourself for that occasional treat.

When I read your title I was thinking baking soda and then it dawned on me you’re talking about carbonated sugary beverages also known as pop. For your kidney thing you might want to look up baking soda. It appears to be very beneficial for that organ in particular.
I’m on day 3 of drinking water from trying to quit soda. I am a horrible caffeine addict. I’m trying to only drink water or green tea non sweetened for 30 days, to kick my soda habit. I just really hope I’ll kick it this time… been trying for years.
Congratulations!!!! I have stopped for just over a month now cold turkey. Dr. Pepper was also my drink of choice. I was drinking about 50 to 60 ounces a day. I have only been drinking water and will continue to do so. Please stick with it, you won’t regret it!!
I’ve been drinking coke and pepsi since I was about 5 years old but I rarely drink I only on birthday parties or Christmas things like that. In a few years time I found myself drinking pop almost every day but just one can. I actually quit drinking coke and pop for two years straight then I started drinking it again. Since the day 1 of not drinking soda, i feel tired all the time and cant do much work compared to what i could before. reason is simple, i used to drink at least 2 liters of soda a day, which gave me a ton of energy, been drinking soda since i was about 6 years old, now im at 6 months without soda, dont want to drink it when i look at it, unless im really tired after a workout. still something doesnt feel right

I became addicted to monsters. I have 4 kids (ages 6, 3, 2, and 2 months). I drink 1 to 2 a day. I know they are bad for me so dont need that comment. And to make things worse.. Im breast feeding (the caffein dont seem to bother her but still know i need to stop) i feel so out of energy without them. I am going to do my best to stop drinking them starting now and especially because i am the heaviest i ever been. I guess i will update in a month and let yall know how well it worked

I’m on day 21 without a single drop of Diet Coke or any Soda I had an addiction for too long that seemed to get worse over the years. The withdrawal symptoms are real but I just kept going and wow, I’m only just on week 3 but what a difference! I’m never looking back, I drink more water and tea now and my coffee in the morning I highly recommend trying it! At first you feel like crap but once you get past that, genuinely the money I would have spent on Diet Coke I am now getting nicer clothes and I’ve went down a size

I will share a true story about my life. Last November 2017. My blood lab results my doctor said my liver enzymes where high. I was 335lbs. Mostly in my big gut. The next step after high liver enzmes is liver failure. I live right near a gym. I’ve runned on and off for a 11 years. Week after my November blood lab results I got a gym membership. I once again started running again on the gyms treadmill. I’ve been running once again non-stop for 11 months now. And this spring I saw my doctor six months later for my routine blood lab tests, and I kid you not my liver enzymes she said our normal now. I lost 35lbs in 11 months. That’s including healthy diet as the profession I work in the food industry I know what’s healthy and not. I have so much natural energy from running I don’t even crave soda for caffeine high. And if you are going through caffeine withdrawl go on Amazon and keyword search a drink called Avaite. all it is, is water and green coffee beans which include caffeine. It has zero grams of sugar. It comes in 45mg caffeine, 90mg and 125mg. The FDA says 400mg of caffeine a day is maximum amount to be safe. This will help start you to get off caffeine addiction in a healthy way. Also now on the treadmill I run 60 minutes straight that’s as high as the treadmill allows you to run on a single session. And I run it at 4.5 speed a very fast speed non-stop. With a Military Camelbak (look them up) on me to constantly hydrate myself with Essentia water which is 9.5 PH Alkaline level to keep you constantly hydrated. My legs are super strong and rock solid muscle, my doctor said my lungs sound great, and my endurance is top notch, first class. I’m typing this comment so late night because I can’t fall asleep I have so much natural energy from running my body doesn’t even need or crave caffeine to have that constant stimulating high. Once I lose my gut I will lose about 50lbs. I’m on the right track. Just some good advice from a former pop junkie. Now a gym nut. Best luck to everybody struggling with pop. You can do this.
Yeep she describes me to a T lol…soda is soooooo bad for every organ in your body. I realizing as well, when I don’t drink soda I make better food choices. I eat less junk food without soda then with soda. Feeling better every day..and in a couple of weeks I will take a look at my weight standings.
It was hard for me to stop drinking soda. I would always crave it. But now, if I really crave it, I would only take a sip and tell myself it tastes gross and flat. It sounds dumb but it helps me. So far I’m doing well with it
In 2016, i gave up alcohol after 24 years, but was never able to kick the Coke. I think the reason soda drinks are far harder to rid from your lips is because of lifestyle. Unlike alcohol, you can drink Cola when you’re working, driving, relaxing at home, or even in work meetings. Its just so accepted and normalized.
I’m in the bathroom about three or four times during the night to rid myself of what i consumed hours earlier whilst watching TV. Its bad for my sleep, health, finances and work performance.
I’m am working on quitting but just……..aren’t quite there yet. Videos like this are certainly helping though. I’m 51 and really want this behind me. I run, do the gym, don’t drink or smoke. This one remaining vice is all i need to put behind me for a healthier life.

I’m on day 27 of not drinking a minimum of 64 oz of soda a day. Usually about 2 weeks out of the typical month I was having 128 oz of soda a day. Surprisingly I haven’t lost very much weight, maybe 5 lbs, but I’m not having mad cravings for it anymore and I feel a little better. I gave up soda on july 1st lol. I now have a strange craving for unsweetened tea all the time lol. Since that’s what I’ve been drinking lately. It’s good and totally hydrating. Way better than drinking diet sodas/drinks
That explains alot i run 10k about 3-4 times a week and on the scale nothing changed and i felt like a balloon most of the day. i havent had a soft drink in 9 days and i feel alot better hopefully i can leave soda behind becasue i was drinking like 6 cans a day or 2 bottles a day.
I will say the first two weeks of not drinking soda is difficult because your body will crave the taste and sugar soda to me is addicting as smoking

I start off slowly to stop just a bit… my choice was dr pepper then i switch to pepsi. instead of 2 liter or regular can, i went with mini can soda. i can easily quit coffee n boba. I cant give up soda at all. not saying im addicted becuz i drink water and hot water during the day tho. just so hard to give up soda completely
Sodas have so much sugar your body wants to reject it by vomiting it out BUT the food chemists added phosphoric acid in order to stop you from throwing it up. There’s no other reason to add it but to fool you into wanting their product.
