I do wish America would get with the measurements and stop asking us to measure out things that don’t fit in cups!!! I have never learned how to measure popcorn in a cup. I have to look at the number of grams per cup, then adjust it to ounces and weigh it out. Cups are just sooooooooo annoying for measuring anything except liquids and flour, sugar, etc.

I’m a newbie and thinking of trying WW. Still gotta look into our “local” WW and find out more. But curious, since changing up this new system have ya seen any results? Just curious after watching your great informative video!! BTW, I also need to upgrade my “antiquated” 4S smart phone 😉 I’m outta room for any additional apps and seems as if the WW app is a must for logging progress/points/etc. Also, how much exercise is involved??
Great video. I did PointsPlus a couple of years ago but fell off the wagon and quit. The new program has me very interested in going back, as I feel I need that PUSH to eat healthy. On Pointsplus I ate a lot of yogurts, fiber one bars, cheeseburgers, etc. I subscribed to the channel!
Thanks so much for the program overview. I had to miss the meeting part of WW this week because we are leaving town and I couldn’t bring my son to the other meetings (no kids allowed 😉 ) I got my new materials but your overview is so helpful! I have been eating high fat/low carb to help keep an autoimmune disease under control so I was super bummed that my full fat favorites are all higher in points, but I guess it balances out with not eating many grains, hardly any sugar, etc. I guess we will see how it goes!! BTW, GREAT job on your loss this week, those.8,.6,.4, etc, they all add up.
I think I’m going to join, I’m a lifer but the weight came back when I fell back into my old ways…I lost 72 pounds with the exchange program from the 90’s…the point plus never worked for me…I get a cheeseburger from McDonald’s then I was just eating crap…this sounds good…glad I found your videos.

I’m glad you talked about this. Ya know, I don’t get WW and what they are doing right now. Not everyone is in the same place in their weight loss. I liked the whole moderation thing they had going on with the previous plans they’ve presented over the years with the high fiber type diet plans they’ve had. Many people (myself included) want to eat better but maybe we aren’t there yet. Or maybe there are days that I can eat healthy and then have an emotional day and want a cookie. Telling me NO or telling me that a cookie is a whole days worth of points does not help me not want the cookie. It just ticks me off and I’m gonna eat the dang cookie and quit the plan. lol! Weight loss is not just about the food. Sadly, WW is still playing with their food plans…be it high fiber or high protein and low fat/carb and do little in the emotional side of things. I’m on the fence and not sure I will use their plan at all. Currently I only attend the meetings for the accountability of the scale. I use them as a tool rather than an be all end all program. =/

I’m in the ‘not too fond of this new plan’ group. I don’t eat carbs all the live long day either. They have extremely limited our choices (well basically taken them away). This way of eating could just as well have been done on PointsPlus! Who was stopping anyone? People needed a ‘nudge’?
Anyway, don’t get me started. I’ll be giving it a good try and then we’ll see. For now I’m calling it “CrazyPoints”.:) Thanks again!

I am in Canada so I know we have special K and I am going to look for the brownies, I really like brownies, and I will look for Quest not sure if we have it here, but I did not know protein bars were good for my program ( WW) I will see if I can find them or something similar and the other stuff to, thanks

Oh wow. I lost 40 lbs on WW a few years ago, but since I’ve been injured and not able to run much any more some of the weight has come back. Thus I started researching WW again to see if I wanted to use it this time around and yours was the first video that popped up.
And Oh my good gracious gravy, ANOTHER change??? This makes the third since I started in?2011?? Something like that.
I loved your comment that they were forcing you more towards whole foods, but all they sell is junk. Hilarious. =D That’s what I noticed when I was there too all the appalling ingredients in their food made it so very unhealthy; and it didn’t taste good either. Except those little blackberry gummies. They were delicious.

I do not like the new program. Period. I do not like the web site, it is not user friendly or nice like the old web site. The old nice things are no longer there. I don’t like the beyond the scale. It needs to go back to the way it was.

I was on weight watchers years ago when it was regular points. It just felt like a lifestyle change to me instead of a diet. The whole point was not to deprive yourself of the things you enjoy but it made you choose more wisely. I just joined the smart points this past weekend and I am finding it to feel more like a diet instead of a lifestyle change. I am finding it hard to do but I am doing it. I feel like if I can get past my two weeks mark without eating any sugar I will be okay. I am not gonna give up just because I am finding it tuff.

still adjusting to the new program…I don’t do so well with CHANGE. lol But if I lost 68lbs on the old program, I should be able to lose on the new program IF I can stick with it…the point values have changed a LOT!
Really I am not trying to change you love for Weight Watchers, In OA you can eat anything you want every person chooses their own path. I have been in an out of Weight Watchers since the 70s. I have lost 59 pounds and gained it back, and lost 50 pounds and gained it back. In OA a person chooses their own journey. IN the strict OA program which is called How there isn’t any wiggle room but in the OA program it is your spiritual journey that is important, and this is what we work the steps and get in touch with our higher power. Thanks for going over the changes. It has been a long time since I have tried WW, and wondered what the differences were going to be in the new one. Since I am retired and live on a very fixed income, and based on your description, I don’t think I will actually TRY this new version. I am already eating mostly whole foods, and it sounds like that is the biggest change. Again thanks for going over this, as it helped me make a decision. Keep up the good work.
I eat Greek yogurt every morning for breakfast (strawberry/banana) and add sliced strawberries & blueberries to it & it so delicious! Thanks for the healthy snack ideas!! Those cakes look so good & will be a good fix when I get a craving for cake but don’t want to go off plan
You were very helpful to me. I just started the program a couple of weeks ago and it was kind of confusing until now. We all like our junk, but moving to a long term lifestyle change is what is going to have the biggest positive impact on our health and Maintanance. Thanks so must for the information.

Great video! You look amazing:) I was excited for the new program, but I couldn’t track until Tuesday when the app was finally up. I was shocked to see that my normal Taco Bell meal which I eat on Monday was up so much that it caused me to go into -22 (negative!) SmartPoints. That lit a fire under me and I followed everything to the ‘t’ for the week and didn’t stop moving. LOL Luckily, I was down 3.8lbs that week! Whew!
This week, I’m cutting back my Taco Bell meal and making small changes as well. Overall I’m liking the new program. Sure, some things went up, but I found the amounts would wash each other out as other things went down. When the points were still too high, I compensated with exercise or dialed it back a bit. I’m definitely hopeful these changes will be for the better!:)

For Weight Watchers to constantly re-do their points system is just another money making scheme. I’m 50 and I can’t even tell you how many different WW materials and books I have at home 😉

so far I’m not interested in this new program. I love my sweets that’s why I’m over weight. I eat my sweets but within points. I do not work out and they are trying to force this not going to happen!! I’m losing weight and feeling better. I’ll stick with the WW points the old fashion way:)
I left Weight Watchers when they did the points plus because it was more confusing than the previous points program. Being diabetic smart points sounds like a good idea and if there is an app that can save me a lot of math all the better. Some things I might still need to calculate. Just not sure I want to spend the money, but I am not good at self discipline and this would give me structure. I would do the online only, always hated the meetings. Have to think about it. I think it kind of goes against their old philosophy… like where you can have what you want and just make it fit. I agree with just about everything you said for those who like the flexibility of the plan I think alot of people are going to get frustrated and just not do it.:-/ I am curious to see how the new plan works for you if you choose to follow it!

ive tried locating Halo Top icecream on walmart sight but they dont carry it. they do carry some weight watcher ice cream bars ide like to try. went to eat my dannon yogurt but it was outta date by 2 wks
people keep coming back because it doesn’t work for most peopledon’t waste your money, go to OA, much better and it doesn’t cost anything and no scales. The only thing good about weight watchers is that you learn how to eat right

I used to work for weight watchers in Syracuse New York and it is one of the best programs I am working on my weight right now as I got off the program:) so starting back up on my weight loss.

Great job breaking the new program down. I go for my meeting tomorrow. Very nervous about all the changes. It makes sense in a way, but I feel like I’m going to be on a diet now, not a lifestyle change, as Weight Watchers has always claimed to be. All this restricting of sugar and stuff is going to make some members binge at a certain point.

I love the new program! The phone app, barcode scanner, FitPoints, connectivity to FitBit and FitBit’s Aria scale, etc. are fantastic improvements for smartphone users on the go. No more repetitive tracking everything in different places as the WW app syncs and is so easy to use. No more trading exercise for more food which never made sense to me. Now you actually have to get moving to record Active FitPoints. Great items on under the SHOP tab too. Thank you Weight Watchers!

I’ve tried the Quest Bars I eat a half at a time. I can’t say I love the taste, but they are protein-filled and low points.:-) I love the Trader Joe’s Peanut Butter and Chocolate Fiber bars they’re 5 Smart Points and worth it, in my opinion. The Choc Chip ones are only 4 Smart Points. My favorite PB ones used to be 3 Points Plus!

Being Hypoglycemic, I find more protein better. I got sick last time on WW but, now that Protein is lower on points, I am feeling better and my blood sugar is doing better as well!!

I really regret what has been a kind of “low carb turn” in WW. This is what I mean. 3 oz of chicken are 2 points. 2 oz of beans are 3 points. Chicken is not as healthy as beans. Period. Basically they are sending the message to the members that animal protein is better than plant protein, when this is not true. I repeat. Just falseThere is a lot of science behind this fact, and I would be happy to share the peer reviewed articles in specialized journals that demonstrate this. I think that WW is still behind in what is the latest research on nutritional value of foods. Basically they are sending the message to the members that animal protein is better than plant protein, when this is not true. I repeat. Just false. And another thing that I regret is that every time anybody dares to pose a question like this in the boards there are only two results. Either your comment is deleted. Or you are bullied by a lot of old fat ladies that would use the “how-do-you-dare-to-question-WW” against you. After the same meeting you are talking about, I made up my mind and decided to discontinue my subscription.
Great video! Honestly i still do the old old old original points system with the slide and you got 18 to 23 points. It seems to be the only thing that works, and not doing any flex points or fit points during the week.im not sure if any old point members are left out there:)

Thank you this is so helpful. I just joined again last week. I did WW 6 years ago. And I am having a hard time eating all my points daily.
People who want to lose weight and keep it off MUST break their sugar addiction. A lot of people on Points Plus would use half their daily calories or more on empty sugar filled treats. That doesn’t make sense. No healthy person does that. Eventually it would lead to vitamin and mineral deficiency. And it also leads to falling off the wagon bigtime and gaining more weight than ever before.
When you take away an addict’s fix, they’re going to be mad, but it’s for their own good.

the special k brownies are so worth it! The fiber one bars make me a little (or a lot) gassy so I gave those up. But the brownies are perfect for a sweet after dinner.
Hi I just downloaded the iTrackBites I’m using points plus. Is the smart points better. I really like this app… thanks for the snack video I never know what to eat for snack. I usually eat something like cottage cheese and pineapple
Great vid! I quit snacking mostly for 2 mosit’s V tough, but def love Pretzel Crisps, Harvest Snaps, & Greek yogurt (my fave brand is Noosa). I’m gonna try Boom Chicka Pop (see many ppl buying it). Thnx for sharing!

I’ve watched a handful of videos and this was by far the most informative. I did PP when it first came out with great success but I was “Skinny fat”. I lost all my muscle mass pretty much and that has been my main gripe about WW now that I have educated myself on healthy eating. Today I decided I would look into it and tailor it to my needs… And that’s how I found out they changed they program!! I am BEYOND happy!! THIS will be harder but you will have better results. Just FYI, they are encouraging lean protien to preserve muscle mass. That means the weight you lose will be fat, not muscle. You will look SOOOOOOO much better at the end. My only concern is the fit points and how they cater to an active person… I’m not active but I hope to be. I think I will join for three months and see what happens!! But believe me, this program is better for you in the end.

So I guess my 2 tbsp of Nutella on an English muffin is out (full of sat. fat). This is going to be difficult for me. I loved Points Plus. I’m just trying to remember that change is always difficult. I’ll get used to this. And I am eating my damn fitpoints right now. I work hard for them at the gym and damn if I’m going to go hungry when I’ve got 5 extra points I can eat. Side note, I’ve lost 15 pounds in three weeks! I love WW. Best weight loss system out there.

Didn’t read all the comments before I posted, but you can smash up those cheddar twists and use them along with fat free plain yogurt on chicken for a taste like fried chicken, yum.
I really regret the latest changes in WW. This is what I mean. 3 oz of chicken are 2 points. 2 oz of beans are 3 points. Chicken is not as healthy as beans. Period. Basically they are sending the message to the members that animal protein is better than plant protein, when this is not true. I repeat. Just false. There is a lot of science behind this fact, and I would be happy to share the peer reviewed articles in specialized journals that demonstrate this (I really mean this). I think that WW is still behind in what is the latest research on nutritional value of foods. And another thing that I regret is that every time anybody dares to pose a question like this in the boards there are only two results. Either your comment is deleted. Or you are bullied by a lot of old fat ladies that would use the “how-do-you-dare-to-question-WW” against you. Finally, I do not need to be like in a class for preschool children in order to have a healthy relationship to my body. People need to learn about nutrition and calorie density, not to “find more me time”. But, hey, this is just my opinion!
Birthday Cake Halo Top is my favorite but you’re right, it has nothing on real ice cream lol. Years ago someone at a meeting taught me to freeze sugar free cool whip, half a cup is only 1 point and I love it!

Healthy snacks are something I struggle with.. so thanks for this video.. I am such a savoury snack fiend!! I have lost 85 lbs and have 49 to go. I am not following weight watchers although I do pinch recipes from all over so I like to look at loads of different videos from all different places. I’m so interested in how this new plan will go over. So far my FF Half & Half is a shocker. I like the push to have an activity goal daily. As much as this is a hard time of year to learn a new plan…I think it’s a must for change & for us to wake up and not slide through the holidays. Staying positive…right?!:D Lori

try quest protien bars. There are 3 varieties that are 13 sp each…..filling and delicious. they also have chips for 2 pts a bag. can get at gnc, and most healthfood stores
Thank you for that honest review! Had to stop WW due to pregnancy. Was planning on starting again this late winter/spring. Not sure if I would like this new program though! I totally agree, more natural whole food is best. But, like you said, WW’s strong point was it’s okay to indulge sometimes. Don’t feel guilty. Count it, move on. Also, lol with you about THEIR products. Holy moly are they filled with crap. I wonder how they’ll deal with the new points in their own products. I, personally, like the idea of small changes taken over time than a huge radical change so it will be interesting to see how this goes for everyone. Don’t want to be negative about it all. This was a great list!!!! I am a quest fan… all of their stuff is so good… there is now only ONE bar that comes up as 3 sp.. and you have to enter the nutritional info into the calculator….. it scans as 4sp… but 3 sp with the nutritional info… it is the Lemon Cream Pie!! it is really good… the cinnamon roll one and the banana nut one entered as 3sp for a while.. but as now saying 4…. i just re entered all the flavors into the WW calculator just to make sure!!!
I wish these companies would market single packages. I am a anythingbakedgoods-aholic, and I can’t have the whole package in my house. Even when I buy HaloTop I can only buy 1 container cuz lets face it, the whole container will disappear. When I absolutely must have something like those cake full of yumminess I just purchase a single package or slice, whatever and then I’m done. Guess I need to work on self control….what do you think? LOL

they changed the system because WW is a business and making money is their goal. I did the points program 12 years ago with great success. Lost 45lbs in 9 most without starving myself or feeling guilty by having the proverbial cupcake you mentioned. By changing the system every so often it renders the old material obsolete forcing you to buy more stuff. I tried to go back to WW about a year ago and was so annoyed because all of the meetings were just a sales pitch to buy more of their crap off of the shelf.
