hi good vid but you talk 2 much, you should talk and show some examples and not only see you in the vid it gets confused
You tell them Natalie stay away from those crappy man made foods.
This is really helpful, Im vegan not keto but the tips are still so important thank you!
for some reason i find this to be redundant, and re-tarded. if you weren’t taught this crap by 5th or 6th grade your a moron or you were stoned in health class. I mean Yay for a how to read a label video, but come on god damit this is not rocket science.
You know what sucks? The ingredient “natural flavors” which can be a proprietary blend of… ANYTHING
If you can remove yourself from the screen and show the ingredient lists as an example, it would be great.
I love how you break everything down everything on the label. I have never paid attention before. I will now because of this video.
also sodium isnt salt its sodium chloride my pe teacher is making me watch this
Wow I needed this! I subscribed to learn more Loved the Video
This was really educational so many points I’ve glossed over in the past. Thanks
Labels are so confusing! Thanks for helping us understand better.
Correction: Sodium is not the same as salt Potassium salt is healthier than Sodium salt: Potassium is essential for your nervous system, you get muscle cramps if you don’t have enough (especially if you exercise). Please update the video.
Only watching this bc apparently the name of the doctor is essential to my grade,,,, this is some garbage animation.
Nutritional Facts Label is a Lie. We need to re-write it.
The only thing I remember learning about food in health class was that stupid pyramid, which lets be honest, noone followed. We are the generation of fast food. This is an important video. Especially considering that what we think is meat is actually soy lecithin and preservatives and corn fillers. We were never taught about that, or artificial sweeteners in diet food that actually makes you crave more sugar and crave more food! We are being DUPED!
I’d rather get so fat that I cant wipe my ass than listen to one more minute of you saying NOTHING.Your very lucky to be pretty. Otherwise you’d be completely fucked.
I just did a video on this as well, check it out on my profile:)
try to be a little more enthusiastic please! over all a very good video
What have i just witness. My 2 brain cells went Bye Bye, TwT im scared
I scrapped my former eating habits nearly 7 years ago, but kale is a food I cannot get into my whole food diet. Do people actually crave kale chips I’m fine sticking with spinach.
you are a stupid bitch. your advice about a bad food is accidental. a 60 year old bar fly could do as well. you have also been grossly missinformed.. you know nothing about food your entire video is dribble and mental masterbation and double talk. you are only confusing people at best.
He reminds me of Leo from little Einstein’s because he has the baton and he has the glasses lol
i think its a way to distract you from looking at the ingredients list which is more important,
It would’ve been a little more helpful if you demonstrated to us rather than showing your cute little face….
As soon as I watched this I didn’t want to watch it anymore☹️
My future child: Daddy what did you watch in your early years at school?
Me: Has Vietnam flashbacks
I prefer to eat fresh produce than processed food from the box that has been refined to the max. But I agree with you: as a general rule, the fewer the ingredients, the better.
what happen if a company put not true nutrition fact label on the product, and make u think its healthy diet which is not for example like 30 g sugar 6 g and 40% of carb 8 carb?
When you read the calories on a nutrition label, is that for the food raw? must be right. Example: 100g of Tofu is 76 kcal, but when I’m done grilling it it goes down to 50g. Is it still 76kcal?
Hello, have you experienced Fat Blast Blueprint? (Go Google it) You will learn about the crimes we commit against ourselves. With Fat Blast Blueprint, you will discover how to shed pounds fast.
This is so stupidly funny Danny Gonzalez or PewDiePie should review.
Your standing on front of the label and didn’t point to the label to make it easy to understand
It is time to stop.
Gym teachers should just teach it rather us watch a vid.
I’m just saying I think this a great source, but gym teachers should be teaching us.
Also this is a great way to study for a test those looking at this
This has really helped me out more than you can imagine. Thank You so so much!!
Press the time thing then press pause rlly fast
4:26 that is just creepy
What about Natural Flavors? A informational video would be nice because they seem sketchy.
I love how simple you make everything and not complicated thank you
I’m in 6th grade why did my teachers want me to watch this. This Is terrifying… Is this what Pewdiepie will look like in the future.. oh no
He also has a HUGE mustache and it’s SO big it covers his mouth
he is weird cause his leg is DNA and is mustache look weird just like a fat worm
Very well said!, you nailed it girl! i think this should be on t.v, no one understands what there eating an its sad! to be honest i never really look at the ing. list, but very good point there. i am going to show this video to all my students! once again great job!
This is the most I’ve ever learned about nutrition labels. Real talk. Thanks for sharing!
Because foods can advertise that they have no trans fat if there is less than 0.5g in a serving. Thats another why reading the ingredient list is so important.:)
As someone who used to be overweight, I found this video to be really helpful!
Yeah… I wish YouTube had more flexibility about length. I’d love to narrate a few classic short stories for kids in my audience Carroll, Twain, etc. but none would be under 10 minutes.
She actually mentions that but it’s part 2 of the video towards the end. This was along video; about 23 mins long. I cut off 3 mins and split the thing in half.

Thank u for all this helpful info. I used to read food labels by just looking at the calories but really I need to watch the carbs, fat, sugars, sodium and the ingredients too to sustain my diet.
It would be a shame if you did not build muscle when these normal people are able to burn off fat so easily with Cosmos Fat Loss (Google it).
Wonderful job! Thanks a lot Dr. Axe for sharing it with us
I’m in the 7th grade, my science teacher is making me watch this ;-;

Have high blood pressure what’s your advice doctor on foods?
Hello, have you considered this program called the SkinniMaker Diet? (Google it). My cousin says it helps people get thinner.
I took a look at a can of Spaghettios, and this video got me to look at the serving size… turns out that one can of the stuff is 1300 mg of sodium (56% DV), 64 g of Carbohydrates (22%), 36 g of Saturated fat (36%), 480 calories, etc. Pay attention to those labels, people!
I’m drinking that almond milk in my coffee right now! Best on the market I’ve found!!

@katinese no more like it angers me how stupid people are and when i see stuff like this it just reminds me how stupid people really are. and this video is slightly misleading anyways, Just because mt ingredient list has 27 different items in it dose not mean it is not a healthy item to eat it could be a complex recipe, so the ingredients list is not what you should fly by at all. i mean if you want to cut out High fructose corn syrup then yah check it. But trust me i know the stupidity level.
Great for people to understand as we need to understand what we’re buying and in what quantities
To be able to understand nutrition labels is so important and not many people really get (myself included) So thank you for this!
Such an important skill that so many truly don’t have! Great video
Very thorough! I love how you explain that cholesterol you eat does not contribute to your cholesterol readings. If it does it isn’t significant
This should be shown to adults. Its like they don’t care if they let themselves go
I am only here because Edmodo I have homeschool because of covid 19
yes she said she was a fat kid growing up in the ‘truth behind lucky charms’ video
I was wondering about this as I am careful about what I eat!
Change the playback speed to 1.75x, then BOOM… Jennette McCurdy
Do you have your videos in Spanish, if you do, please send me a link to [email protected] umd.edu
You do an outstanding job in explaining what to look for in nutrition labels. Thanks!
That was awesome girl! Thanks for all the information
And the easy way how you’re talking to let us know how to read the Label, but the problem that in Morocco i cant find all this products
Question: Do Nutrition Facts states the nutrition before cooking or after cooking?
example Chicken nuggets. Do they account the fact that it will be fried with oil or should i compute that separately?
I’m here because I have to do an assignment on Microsoft Teams!:>
Oh Hello you’ve caught me doing a bit of GROCERY SHOPPING
any of you guys tried alacalc.com for creating nutrition labels for my own recipes?
he shopping at a store thats has everything his brand and i wonder who voiced his ugly ass
and his name is dr. smarty… hes not smart he only has 2000 subs sucks for him
Great video! It’s so important to overall health to know exactly what you’re putting in your body!
I really like your videos. Very simple and informative. Great job.
Love that you are not obsessing on that other stuff. Just a clear, concise, read ‘food’ on ingredient list. No colours etc understand, that said, ‘am not bathing in the stuff 24/7 so not obsessing over something (would prefer not to have) as occasional ingredient; also that said, have personally written a company telling them they had a very good product and did not need the MSG and colourings included in product. Didn’t do any good but, is what it is. This video was worth watching twice. Thanks.
Have you ever wondered how legit the nutritional facts label is, or who examines the food we eat because there are so many foreign foods around. i hope the Food and Drug Administration from the Department of Health and Safety tests every food we eat and lists them accordingly and easy for us to read. That means changing the nutritional facts label.
New video: Search:The Food Label & You”Produced by the FDA.
In Hong Kong, a lot of the products produced locally don’t have that nutrition label on them. So most of the time i buy products produced outside of hong kong like America, Japan, or Europe, cause they have that label and it’ll be easier to keep track your diet.
I am in 6th grade and my science teacher made me watch this like wtf
you should mention if you increase the amount of polyunsaturated fats you consume you need to increase the amount of vitamin E u taken…to much Polunsaturated increases free radicals within cells..so go easy on PUSF
I am in the 6th grade my teacher also told us to to watch this video
I love all the helpful information you put out, here on YouTube, your website, your blog, facebook, and I’ve applied so much of what I’ve learned from you to my every day life, particularly your many healthy tips and recipes. About carbs, though, since fiber is classified as a carb, often to reduce carbs, fiber is also then reduced, which I think many do this, thus denying their body of this very essential need. I’ve found out through making sure I get 25 30 grams of fiber, along with keeping added sugar/simple starches = simple carbs to a minimum, my body has found and remains at its own ‘healthy weight’. I do not count calories but I pack as much nutritional benefit as I can in whatever calories I consume, always seeking to get the fiber, omega 3’s (EPA, DHA, ALA), vitamins and minerals my body needs…And I only eat when my stomach says I’m hungry, not in accordance to the clock. <3
tysm coronavirus.u made me almost stay back in fourth grade. how nice of u ;-;
thanks for the info very good info and ignore some jealous people
I’m in 7th grade. My PE teacher is making me watch this. My brain just died wtf is this ;-;
can i eat canned tuna everyday as one of my protiens?? im working on a cruise ship and i dont want to fall off and they dont give us any good options..i was thinking of stocking up on that is it true its too much mercury for my body?? thanks
Fat and carbs are not the only foods that make you gain weight. Protein can too. Any food type in excess will be stored as fat.
I think understanding the fat percentage of food is really imp!
What do you think about per serving vs per 100g being the best indicator?
0:03 Im sure DNA is wayy smaller than that and im not even learning stuff like that
The guy is a Scientist but still can’t figure out why his glasses don’t help his eyesight
So glad I found this video, I’m doing all the research on keto and was confused about macros but this video helped me so much thank you! Hoping to start my keto journey very soon!
I’m not trying to insult you but only show you a better way to explain what you’re talking about. You are standing directly in front of the nutrition list. All through your video which seemed forever I kept hoping you would step aside and go over the nutrition list with a pointer. Thank you
A useful guide.
The only thing I would add is that labels are only required for industrially-processed foods. Raw foods don’t require them, as a rule.
I’ve just about come to the conclusion that if it has a label, I would prefer to avoid it.
I heard saturated fat like lean meats and nuts were good and it was the processed fat like chips that are bad for you. I also heard the best things for you are the natural products nature makes that grow straight from the ground. I think it’s about deciphering between the good fats and bad fats. Fact: People who typically eat more good fats are able to maintain and have a really healthy body weight
