Thank you so much for this video! So funny and informative!!
1 hour cook plus 1 hour wait.
2 hours? Hek no pappa.
Smh
Cut in half
350 deqrees for 35 mins.
Cool for 5-10 mins.
Nice receipe! Did not know that trick on twisting the squash! Will try DEFINITELY! Yum!
Spaghetti squash is disgusting! My mother forced us eat that garbage squash as kids.
I’m gonna use this method next time I make spaghetti squash ♡♡♡
I use butter instead of olive oil, and I don’t invert the halves, but cover each with foil so that the “bowls” retain all the butter and seasonings (including a light sprinkle of dried oregano).
Really learned a lot from this video. I’m gonna try it on the grill, but this video has given me the basic instruction on what I need to do. This is my first try at spaghetti squash.
I have to admit that this technique… from beginning to end… has been the easiest and with the best results out of anything I’ve tried with spaghetti squash.
I love spaghetti squash. I switched to it years ago instead of unhealthy pasta. It is so tasty and it’s awesome with pesto, homemade fresh spaghetti sauce, and alfredo sauce. It’s also delicious just how it’s garnished in this video. I never use salt though.
You’d should cut the squash length ways instead. It’s easier
I got the sack from my job in the pasta factory.
All I did was make a fusilli mistakes.
Okay. Were liberating noodles. Literally oodles of videos I’ve saved and have gone unwatched. HAD to watch this one. Swore I would never do Spaghetti Squash again cause always seem like soft noodles. Too soft. Rocked my world way you said to cut too. You’re A-Mazing! I will get 2 (cause I have 4 boys and 1 wouldn’t be a snack lol) and have for video Monday. Thanks!
So even camera girl simply cannot cook, she has to “cook it up”. SMH!
If you cook up, do you cook down too? Hmmm? Maybe sideways too? Is this called directional cooking?
This was great. I always wondered how you did the spaghetti squash. Now I’m going to try it. Yum!
I had a much bigger squash and was cooking in an RV, so a much smaller oven. I had to pile the slices up to cook. I found that the slices cooked much faster if they were flat on the pan instead of partly in the air. I rotated them after 15 minutes, at 30 minutes I took them out of the oven and slices that were cooked I took out and the remaining got an additional 15 minutes. My daughter came over to my RV toward the end of it all and said she always cooks her squash in the microwave.
I’ve found that a hack saw works good too. I’ve had it microwaved, boiled, grilled, roasted but not roasted in disks. I wrote your method down so I won’t forget. I’ll even toast the seeds with cinnamon and a bit of cayenne.
Is the spaghetti squash supposed to stay crunchy I cooked it for 45 minutes and it’s crunchier than I like
Sounds and looks great. Im a diabetic and this looks like a great substitue for pasta. Oh how i miss pasta lol. I could eat angle hair for days lol.
An older couple that are funny has better version than you about like earlier in 1/2 cut, safer 4 the challenges like me, lol then so llike combining both ideas into 1 a half or so of each. Not doing water, cuz it sound too mushy steamed almost or boiled, or soupy soup type though she said it was alerted, it looked fine, heard crunch I prefer dry roasted like you have it, cuz like I’m in small toaster oven poor & old efficiency. And thank God that they opened up this store in South start or almost middle actually if rich middle class area of organic store small quaint, but abitbifgerthanthe Trader Joe’s of like 2 years ago, supermakert,Sprouts is pretty awesome on produce. Rest places not so much or variety or cheap other places not. Other stuff expensive ofc. Lol Easy 4 me 2 get by 2 buses not way far out or bad area to be by, so I live in OK residential central of town not too far travel distance specially by car, but not bad by bus even after terrible changes 4 some things they made in the bus city public transport system. Lol some changes good others not. Must leave per each bus 1hr b4 to make it OK. Much more X harder then b4,mire buses like 3 sometimes then used 2 to same place location used 2 frequent then some no stops or shade, bench, skeleton or stopped servicing so must walk allot like other AMC theater that has more matinee CD on Friday through Sunday unlike the ACM in the mall now a days. They so changed.
New subbie here! Wow! That superghetti squash looks good. I will try it.
Thanks Dani for the great video…
If you want my recipes, you’ll have to come to the farm and pick spaghetti squash and swap recipes in person.
I’ve only cooked spaghetti squash once and thought it was tasty. The texture was too soft so I haven’t done it again. Maybe I’ll try one again if I can get over being squeamish about the texture.
Curious, why are you cooking in teflon? Respectfully asking because Teflon not good to cook in.
That is a great way to cook spaghetti squash,I honestly didn’t think that would work but it works great so I’m saving this video

Yeah… I really like this. WAYYYY better than the way I used to do it.
I just tried it. It was my first time making Spaghetti Squash and it came out great. I love the longer noodles. Thanks!
Love your guys humor “you mean high” made my morning I’m about to cook some squash we got from the local food bank… Yes we’re broke and this food gos a long way
Thank you Danie for this awesome video! Will be making this right now, and I love the vibes. Keep up the great videos and authentic personality =)
I make mine just like you, but I roast them open side up, and I let the roast longer 350 for 1 to 2 hrs, that way none goes to waste
I just made a spaghetti squash videoFour ways to make this! CHECK THIS OUT! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHYK1GhNsZc
Thank you guys! I was looking for simple way to cook spaghetti squash! I’ll try it tonight, wish me luck:)
I absolutely love you guys. I am really glad that I fund your channel
Love squash… specially “sketty squash”!!!
You two are awesome
Cut it into 1 1/2 ” wheels coat with oil, salt. pepper and dry roast it flat on a sheet pan. The strands will just twist out easily with a fork.. long strands. Slightly brown, Roasted flavour beats boiled or steamed any day.
You “Boomed” so much I couldn’t wait till the end to hear your finale. Nothing? Shucks!
Excellent vid as usual. I always wanted to try a spaghetti squash and now I know how to do it. Thanks!
R-E-A-L-L-Y, no kidding, thanks for the tip..’out of the oven for 40 minutes it’s HOT!’
Yes, I would definitely say less garlic..
Thank you this was so easy to make it and it was my first time making spaghetti squash
Thanks for the tip on slicing that hard rock. You rock, lady!
Im making this tonight and adding a homemade alfredo sauce to it with broccoli:)
1. I looove you showed the easy way to cut this squash.
2. You are extremely entertaining to watch. I feel like I am listening to a good friend telling me how to baked something.
Thanks!! I will be making this for my family tonight!!
I like baking it whole or cutting it the long way. Longer spaghetti!!! Just add ANYTHING Italian you want-voila!! Meatballs and sauce. Alfredo. Simple like this. Olive oil, capers, anchovies and stir fried peppers and onions. Just add basil and stuff. He’s RIGHT. Don’t need much. Butter salt and pepper will even do! Oh and either the twirl or just fork the long stroke if it’s cut the long way.
Ha!
I can see a major difference..Wow….I will pick one up and try your method….Way cool…
Hi! Followed your steps and made this evening. Easy and delish. Thanks!
WOW..Thank u so much manson for this video. all along i been baking my squash wrong and not getting them long noodles like u did at all! this video was so helpful to me:)
I love watching you videos you crack me up!! Will be making this one for sure:)
Vid would be better if the guy didn’t keep interrupting and adding useless comments. She knows what she’s doing!!! Just hold the camera and stay quiet
This is the whitest thing I’ve ever seen. ♥️ “has a little bite to it”, “Italian flavours” (literally just salt and pepper), and the bloopers? 10/10
What can I substitute for oil when cooking the squash? Or can I even cook it without brushing or drizzling it with anything?
Going to roast some tonight for dinner, using a garlic parmasean alfredo sauce from the jar but jazzing it up with kale, broccoli, sun dried tomatoes, and a 4 cheese blend
This worked GREAT! I hate cleaning out the seeds but this was so easy. Wonderful idea and now my go-to way to cook spaghetti squash. Thank you!!
I’ve followed your recipe ( cutting the squash in rings and bake it 30 min on 200 ℃) and it was so easy and yummy! Thanks for the instructions and lots of love from Germany
Im gonna try making this tonight! I’ve been hankering for Spaghetti Squash. Soooo Healthy too!
Thank you two so much for this here vidja. Yeah mine cooked a bit past that point but that’s
alright. Haven’t tasted the speghetti as whole yet but the squash itself is pretty darn good
to me, goodbye bad noodles hello speghetti squash!!
Have a good’nnn
I tried cooking the Squash your way…. didn’t like it at all. I will stick to my regular way.
Thanks. I was wondering y it was mush the first time I tried
Great video.Well explained. I’m going to try this. Cheers from Australia.

” Thanks for sharing this recipe for spaghetti squash with your viewers, Camera Girl and Chef Buck! “
I found your channel/blog /etc last week when I had decided to start eating more clean and am thankful for the information that you share! My teen, who hates spaghetti noodles (because she thinks they are slimy) let me try this for dinner tonight and she said it has the potential to be her new favorite meal!
Thanks for doing this in a short video. I ignored all the 10-15 minute long videos ouu there.
Man that looks delicious! And I don’t eat meat with all my meals, I try to just eat vegetables sometimes as a main course thank you for the good and simple recipe.
This is amazing! I have always cut them lengthwise. Your noodles are so long and noodle-y!! I can’t wait to pick up a spaghetti squash when I do my shopping!!!!
Use it wherever you’d use spaghetti. I like to have mine in the morning with breakfast.
Never made sketti squash before and this was super helpful! Thanks y’all
Oh my goodness, you are one of the few people with my last name( maiden name) I used your suggestions for a spaghetti squash, turned out great!
guys this really is the best method. comes out perfect all the time!
I microwave it. Than I toss it in a wok with ground sausage and veggies. a type of stir fry. it’s so good. especially with jalapeños mmm
I just paid over $6 for one here in Canada. What a bad joke. I love this stuff as it’s so versatile savoury or sweet.
My spaghetti squash is 2lbs do I cook it for the same amount of time?
Thank you for the video, can’t wait for more! you guys are awesome.
This is the BEST. I did exactly what you said. Easiest way with the best results ever. Thank you!
I’ve found that if you put the halves on parchment paper, put Olive oil on both halves and generously season with s&p, garlic powder, and paprika… it turns out amazing. Even though the seasoning is concentrated in the center of the halves once you start to separate/ scrape the strands it will all mix together.
With my luck? I will end up turning it sideways, and cut myself.:/ bad!
Cut in half clean out seedput in microwave when soft enough scrape out put in microwave dish add butter fresh garlic parmesan cheese nuke again for few mins
How in the world did you cut that, GF?!?! It took three of us until we had to get a man to cut it! AND HE CUT HIMSELF!!!!!!
I like the idea of baking them the other way however they didn’t turn out as well dang. The temperature needed to be longer and I had smaller ones. I think the next time I’ll do them this way but with oil not water.
Cooked spaghetti squash for first time tonight. Mixed with cooked onions, sour cream, and sharp cheddar. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to spaghetti noodles. Thank you for your video, I wasn’t sure how to cut into the squash and get noodles out of it.
Thanks for the vid. Really appreciate you two being so informative.
Is it okay to roast it without the olive oil? I’d prefer to just add it after it has cooked.
You both make cooking fun! Love this video!! Thank you!!!!!!!!
I love using spaghetti squash… I also found that after roasting and and extracting with the folk, if I put it back on the baking pan in a relatively thin layer for about 10 min on a low heat, it dries out the squash a bit, so it’s even more like noodles.
Yum. Super easy and delicious. Thanks for showing us how to cook and get the yummies out. God bless.
Great way to cook it. I tried it and liked it. I’m was confused what the person filming kept talking about. Was it supposed to be funny? It seemed like he was trying to be funny.
Simple and delicious. i would tend to disagree that is it a substitute for pasta however. At least main dish pasta. I just can’t see spaghetti and meatballs made with spaghetti squash as a substitute, it would be a completely different dish.
I prefer this method over cutting in half and baking. Such long “noodles”!
Never would’ve thought about cooking it this way! Thank you!!! Turned out great:)
I’ve never had sketti squash before but my mama bought one at the store so I’m getting ready to fix this as a side for dinner. If we like it it will be bye bye pasta, lol. Tyfs God bless you
Mine tasted like pasta. Especially when I added mushroom pasta sauce.
Thanks. Good job. My style of simple cooking. I look forward to trying a new way to cut it. I like that fork spin technique.
Ooh I bet that’s delicious. I like to make little nests with the spaghetti squash and crack an egg (quail eggs are my fave for this, but chicken eggs work great, too) and bake until the whites are set but the yolk is still runny. Then I’ll put the nests over a bed of greens, like baby kale or a spring mix, and top with a little salt and pepper. The yolk makes for a nice silky sauce and its so deliciously simple.
I’m definitely going to try this recipe next. Man it looks good! I’ll be making room in the garden for more spaghetti squash going forward. It’s such a good meal.
Ok, I will try to like spaghetti squash again after a friend gave me one from her garden…
As a youtuber I don’t normally say things but it would have been really nice to have the sauce recipe that she made! That would have been helpful!
In case anyone is wondering this is Amazing! not good not okay amazing
It was delicious! The flavor and texture is just perfect. We loved! Personally I will never eat wheat pasta again if I have this great and healthy option. Thank you for sharing
The dish looks delicious! Just a little tip…cut the squash in half lengthwise…its easier to scoop out.
I made my first spaghetti squash last night. It turned out ok. This recipe is right up my alley. I’ll have to try it. Thanks for sharing. “Boom!” Lol
Thank you so much! Making this was really wonderful. Very easy to follow and informative!!
She has to be from VA because she said chunk instead of chuck.
First Timer here. I love your personality, humor, new subscriber
Came across you twos recipe, so glad I did. Great chemistry on camera, too. Thank you!!!
I need a woman like her I used to come home from work an cook dinner. My ex didn’t know how to cook plus I had a son so I wanted him to eat good. I went to school for cooking so I didn’t mind.
New to spaghetti squash willing to try new recipes “meatless”
I’ve never cooked nor eaten spaghetti squash ever in my life, because I’m not a fan of most squashes. However, because I’m doing low carb now I’m willing to give it a try. I’m using this video as my first attempt; it’s s in the oven even as I type. I hope all the hype is true…
I had to watch your video three times because you add ingredients and don’t tell us what they are. Check out the spaghetti squash and the long peppers
I really liked cutting and cooking it in rings instead of lengthwise. It was hard to cut but it made it easy to scoop out and even portion out for meals. Thanks for sharing!
I had this at a friends home in BC some years ago, I like it a lot but here in the UK I can’t find this particular squash in the food stores. I’ll substitute spiralised butternut squash, see how that goes.
I cut mine in half and put a meatloaf in the half and bake it at 375 for 30-45 mins… very good
Thank you. I love spaghetti squash. This is a simple and tasty recipe. ♥️
thank you! this is going to be my dinner tomorrow. can you save any leftover noodles in the fridge? and also do you have any suggestions on what to do with the leftover non-noodle squash?
OMG, this was so good. Thank u. Not watery. I have struggled cooking this before.
in Australia……………..thats butternut pumpkin…………looking forward to trying this…….thankyou…….love your channel!!
I really enjoy your videos. Question: I poke a few holes in the squash before cutting and then microwave for a few minutes. Makes it much easier to cut. Is that wrong? Seems so much easier and safer. Also, when microwaving I often just cook the squash whole, with holes for steam escape, until it is done. Doesn’t have the oil and salt and butter while cooking but it doesn’t seem to be a problem. I just add it later. What do you think?
I’m going to roast a spaghetti squash and top with a ground turkey spaghetti saucetopped with mozzarella cheese (of course!).
Yummy, delicious. I will cooking very soon. Thanks for your recipe.
That’s y it’s best to take the seeds out before cooking it or the noodles with shred apart… But yours did come out better than the others I’ve watched
I LIKE CUTTING IT LENGTH WISE WITH BUTTER A LITTLE BROWN SUGAR AND CINNAMON SPRINKLED PEPPER AND SALT, IT’S SUPER DELICIOUS.
This is my 3rd time making it, the other times I cut it lengthwise per recipes.
Your way was much better and safer. It cooked thoroughly, peeled easily, with almost no waste.
My husband enjoyed it and said he’s now a fan of Spaghetti Squash!
I brushed it with olive oil, black pepper, and instead of salt used garlic powder and Montreal Steak Seasoning.
This was the best demo of all the the others, I’ve just got home from Walmart and preheated the oven
Chef Buck, A Million Thanks. I’ve been trying for years to prepare spaghetti squash, it definitely isnt pasta, not even close but I love the taste & texture, always did it w/sauce, epic fail to me. Your recipe sounded so good I made it the next day. AMAZING! Made it more of a dinner, added spinach( a little nutmeg for the spinach) & toasted walnuts, & stauted onions, topped it w/a hitof red pepper flakes & a shaving of pecarino. Only me here so there’s lots left. Tomorrow ladding shrimp for protein. I see someone added feta, sounds great! BTW, heres a tip, I always keep a lemon, orange & lime in the freezer…so much easier to grate. YUM! Subscribing for sure!
Nice Channel!New Subbie here. Please check out My New Cooking Channel when you get a chance. Thanx!
Through the insides into your garden. Get free squash next season. Grows like a weed!
This is a great cooking method. I just tried it and I’m waiting for the squash to cool as I type this comment.
Roast or bake? She says roast in the beginning of the video but the instructions say bake.
Your way takes too long. Too much work. Just roast it whole.
It is slippery, but I didn’t have a problem slicing it. This is my first time ever and I can’t wait to use it more instead of noodles
Not sure if it maintains same nutritious benifits, but i boil mine cover it up. Just a little water. And done in 15 20 min
Or use a sharp knife. My Cutco butcher knife went right through the stem.
I just made a spaghetti squash and am very sad that I had cut it the other way! This video is great, and am looking forward to very long noodles next time. Thanks!
Cool. Thanks. Your helping me with my honey due list for the day.
Thanks so much, I’ve thrown a whole one of these out before because I didn’t know why it was so hard..I haven’t cooked it yet.
I cut mine open lengthwise and bake it in the oven with real butter and honey in the holes, basting as it cooks. Delicious!
I used this video last night to cook some spaghetti squash… I couldn’t bear the smell that mess had my stomach hurting so bad… I did follow your directions and it cooked very well. My kids loved the taste. I made a spaghetti lasagna. I just couldn’t take the smell. I couldn’t fathom eating spaghetti squash…. How to make it smell better?
Can you freeze the leftover spaghetti squash or how long in the refrigerator?
I have my mom’s old serrated electric knife. I’ll try that to cut the squash.
Thank you Brittany I love this SS I’ll try the ring method next. I can eat a half of this stuff
Why do most women talk like idiots these days. That ignorant valley girl inflection is so fucking annoying. Make America smart again.
You can put it in the oven for 15min then cut it. It’s easier
This really is the best way to make spaghetti squash! And if you make the rings equal small sizes, it’s portion sized! Thank you so much for this trick, it was absolutely delicious!
This is almost like a good way to have individual servings. The biggest questioncan I freeze the rings pre or post cooked?
Hello! Very good your channel and your video! Congratulations! I wish every success!
Your culture and language enchant me! When you have time, visit my channel! In the last video, I made Carrot Cake!
Thank you! Success! Hugs. #dgtudo
I tried this and wouldn’t recommend it. 350 was too low, my dinner was done at 45 min and my squash was raw. I usually do lengthwise cut at 375 with bitter and Carlie in the center. It gets toasted and caramelized on top and works just fine. This water method means you have to add garlic later….raw garlic? No thanks. I’ll go back to open faced @ 375…..and I’ll put my sauce on my pasta
I use spaghetti squash all of the time. I dont use water just some EVOO. Flavor is so much better.
I love your channel and cannot wait til your next videos. A requestI love baby corn, do you have a favorite recipe predominantly using baby corn? Can you please make a new video on this topic? Thanks for all your valuable time making these videos. A huge fan.
Die besten Kürbisse für Püree, sind der Butternut und Hokkaido. Der Spaghetti Kürbis schmeckt nicht. Der Geschmack ist zu streng.
I never use oil and it still cooks well. Thank you for this recipe!
We eat ours with butter, s&p, and grated myzithra cheese. Yummmmmm
Really learned a lot from this video. I’m gonna try it on the grill, but this video has given me the basic instruction on what I need to do. This is my first try at spaghetti squash.
Good vid, short and simple. Love the bit about roasting the seeds! I would’ve been kicking myself in the butt if I wasted them!
The audio is horrendous though.
cut lengthwise, lay em cut side down on glass baking dish with 1/2 inch water and nuke em! easiest
Can you cube these and sauté them? How about other types besides butternut?
I put my squash on a dish towel and cut it with a hand saw that is only used for food. It makes it easier to cut and of course it’s much safer. Besides squash I also use this cutting method for melons too.
Absolutely the best! Wasted so much time and spaghetti squash for decades! Forwarded this to friends and family. This way rocks!
Used this is a mock pork love me in noodle dish.
Fantastic on peeling away outer skin and making long noodles
Fantastic!
I’m pretty sure that amount of garlic keeps Dracula away but it also kills the low carb aspect, even if the taste is worth it, lol.
You’re missing out on toasting the seeds, brother. Just try it once & you’ll find the ambition from there on out. Just put them in another pan alongside the one the squash is in after you get the strings off, sprinkle with powder pink sea salt, cayenne, & pumpkin spice. YUMMO!
We had this yesterday,I always make this on Thanksgiving, With fresh tomatoes little ragu and a can of chili, quick easy yummy,I just nuke mine for 20 min tastes the same with a sauce anyways LOl
Rock and Roll……..Rather than just rocking the knife, try gently rolling the squash back and forth also.
As soon as you started twisting…so satisfying lol I love this! Can’t wait to try this:)
I had a super Duper Duper hard time cutting that, somehow I managed to cut into half but thank you so much you saved me
I’ve always did it in the crock pot hahaa just put a lil water in it and throw the whole squash in don’t cut itt til the end I’ve been doing it sooo wrong
“It looks like a pumpkin” Yeah thats because it actually is a pumpkin
Can also prepare the same dish with carrot Julienne and sprinkle coriander leaves in the end.
My all time favorite way to prepare Spaghetti Squash now! Thanks for sharing this KICK a$$ way of cooking it! Keep on shining & sharing!
I’ve tried “The Rings method”, it’s actually the worst. Instead of scraping out 2 halves of skins, now you have six small flimsy ones to deal with that inevitably break up into even more pieces.
Easy, quick and delicious. Thanks. I will try this right now.
Thank you I am preheating my oven right now I really appreciate it I’ve never made this and my Perpetual fiance grew a bunch of them in our garden. Thanks I did subscribe.
another tip for cutting hard rind veggies like squash or even potatoes is to cut a bit off one side to make it flat then it won’t roll when you cut it.
Or you can just cut to the chase and microwave it… It works equally well.
Just had this squash yesterday. Should have watched this then. Great video
Nice! Never thought of doing it this way. Now my noodles will be longer:)
Lol, video starts staying ‘eating bird food’ & she looks like a parakeet. So awesome & funny
i love this vegie!but i like to put butter garlic and take the 2 halves and put tooth pick to seal in flavors..
That is NOT a teaspoon of oil. That is more than a tablespoon on each one. I think you need some new measuring spoons. LOL Thank you for the tutorial. This is the best one I have seen.
Ok I’m so glad I clicked on your video, I would have never thought to throw an egg on there for breakfast!
With the microwave its not just the flavor, its the difference between using heat or electromagnetic bombardment. You dont put a metal pan in the micro but you’re going to put the electrically reactive minerals in the food in there and hope its not going to be chemically altered, the dna wont be damaged, etc. I say take the extra time, its good for you
For starters, baton the knife through the squash. If the knife won’t stand up to being smacked with a baton, get a better knife.
I have some growing now, so I am prepared to harvest and cook once they finish ripening. Cant wait! Thanks!
Just made this for dinner for my husband and myself. It was really delicious and so easy to make. I made it with organic marinara sauce with organic turkey meatballs added to the sauce. With a side of garlic toast. I highly recommend this recipe. Will definitely be making this again. Very filling but don’t have the bloated feeling like regular pasta. Two thumbs up!!
For anyone NOT in the US of A, like everywhere else, 400f is about 200 Celsius…
Great recipe! Tried it (as well as the other one for Spaghetti Squash, you posted a few weeks ago), it was very easy to prepare and very yummy! Thank you and CG!
I got one from the food bank. This is how I made it.thank you
“Gutting” in the laundry room….oohh my. Why do people love to create videos that are absolutely nonsense
Thank you for showing me how to do it. Now I will make this dish and use it in place of real spaghetti.
Very helpful! Thank you Someone said to put the whole squash in the microwave for 3 min before cutting I don’t know of thats a bad idea or not but I’ll try it your way.
Very helpful! Watch the level of that mic,.. way too hot in this one!
oh very nice! will make this on my cooking channel! thank you loved it
Love the video guys. I’ve been a chef for 25 years in England and now in Australia but I’ve never come across spaghetti squash, I’ve heard of it though. The first time I heard of it was thru an American chef I was working with in London about 20 yrs ago and I was like what?? It’s similar to a butternut pumpkin but comes out like spaghetti??? That’s crazy!! Anyways, fast forward to today.. I’m just passing by my local fruit and veg shop in Sydney Australia, and they have it there! They don’t normally have it because I go there a few times a week, so they’ve obviously taken a chance in it at the markets and decided to buy a box to sell. As soon as I saw it I thought wow I have to buy one as I’ve known about this for so long but never seen it!! So I don’t want to mess up cooking it, so I YouTube a video and yours was the top one so I watched that and really enjoyed it. Thanks chef buck and also thanks to the nice lady who cooked it in the video. Love and peace coming at ya from Australia!!
First time I cooked spaghetti squash the other day and had absolutely no idea how to do it, but apparently I did it exactly how you’re supposed to
Do you know the easiest best way to zoodle? Zucchini noodles.
I have to say, I have never made spaghetti squash before and i reviewed a few videos to find the one that I thought would best suit my needs. Your video was AWESOME, accurate and to the point. I followed your steps to the letter and my squash came out absolutely fantastic. Long noodle like strands.
Spaghetti squash is too hard to make several cuts on the width. Easier to cut once on the length.
I think I bought a squash that was yellow but a different kind because it does not have spaghetti form lol
Oh for ”Fark” sakes…What the ”Fark” did she say >>>> 1:13 <<<<
Thanks for this! Could not understand when you said you can use parchment paper or? What was the other option? Couldn’t make it out. Thanks!
This was helpful I looked at about 10 videos before finding this and I was so confused before. Thank you so much
Do you need to boil it after getting the spaghetti strings or is it already cooked in the oven?
Has anyone tried this recipe?? How many people can one squash feed?
Thank you for showing us how easy it is to cook spaghetti squash. I have one but didn’t know how to cook it. I will be serving it this way as a side dish.
But there are nasty lectins in zucchini that will destroy your gut bugs. It’s way better with sweet potato noodles and/or shirataki noodles.
The first time I had spaghetti squash, I had it longways and while it was inside the squash and it was good. However, this method of cooking it and carving out the noodles that way made this so much easier to eat and I love just being able to eat as much as I want from a bowl instead of a squash slice. 10/10 for this video!!!!
“SALT, PEPPER, PARMESAN CHEESE, BUTTER” x10000
“COULD BE A SIDE DISH”x10000
great video.. but I love Buck’s humor and personality..lovely duo lol
Don’t you use the Nuwave oven? I would like to see you roast acorn, spaghetti and butter nut squash that way.
Is it common to put water in the bottom of pan? The only technique I’ve heard & used is puncture the outside a few times w/ a fork to allow steam to escape, no water used. I will have to try it this way.
Try using a bamboo steamer sometime. I have cooked squashes that were twice the size of the one in the video in under 20 minutes with a bamboo steamer
Yeah CB I just found some for.69 Each they usually are a pound at 1.69 wich add up so this is a very helpful video thanks!!! Since this is my 1st time I’ll keep it simple and go with a cheesy spaghetti chunky meat sauce? Then graduate to a roux type meaty white wine sauce wish me luck!!!?!!
Thanks because now I know how cook the spaghetti squash my friend gave me yesterday
good morning Dani Spies. Hadnt had a spaghetti squash in months and just popped one in the oven a min. ago. I did notice that the other day when i cooked something in my oven and used parchment paper, that the paper was brown/black like it was about to catch fire! Is it really ok to use parchment paper when roasting a squash for 40 min. or longer? (i just love your facial expression in 3 min. 43 sec. into the video when u said “absolutely delish”. lol
After I bake my squash. I melt a little melted butter about 2 tabelspoons with about 1 teasooon of pure maple syrup. then drizzle that over the squash. Top with fresh shredded parmesan bake until cheese melts. Its so yummy
I have made this recipe today, just like you made it, but sprinkled freshly grated goat Romano cheese on it. (Gluten intolerance) Turned out delicious, great recipe, thank you.
So excited for this as I planted spaghetti squash about a month ago and have 7 coming in so far here in southern Missouri!Thanks-Kristy
I’d like to make beer pasta. Saw some noodles in market this morning. Might go back. Zucchini noodles mmmmm!
Best way to cook Spaghetti squash. Cut in half and microwave 10min. Done
Thank you for this video! You should not push down with your left hand at the end of the knife. Your hand could slip and the tip of the knife can slice your wrist. That happened to a cook I worked with and it was a life threatening injury.
I’m making this as I’m watching this. I love spaghetti squash.
Always told to eat healthier but never told how to cok in easy format. Excellent video under 3min.
Thank you, I just made my first spaghetti squash. I am basically making it for my birds although I will eat a little bit. Also you do look like Carol from the walking dead
This is the only kind of squash my husband will eat.
Thanks for short vid. I cant ever remember temp.
I like your style. I just made some spaghetti squash today but…I am trying this next time!
Yay!! Just in time I picked up a few spaghetti squashes from the farmers market. Good tip on the preparationlooking forward to trying out your new recipe!
Have you read the Mucusless Diet Healing System by Professor Arnold Ehret? I think it would be really interesting if you could design some recipes and meals for that. And I love spaghetti squash, I’ve cooked it many ways but not like this. I’m gonna try this tonight!
I use a nightstick to just baton the knife through the squash. If your knife won’t stand up to being batonned through the squash, you need another knife. And your method is far too involved. It’s a squash.
I have never gone wrong with Buck’s Recipes this brother can COOK.
Woooow i just get to know many new things…i didnt know about this kind of structure
Life saver. Our noodles were short, glassy and not aesthetic. We wasted a lot of it. I appreciate this video!
This woman looks like she would ask to speak to the manager.
Good video tho.
Thanks for the video I bought the squash and didn’t know how to fix it
I’ve only just discovered how easy it is to make spaghetti squash. I’m one of those people that are fearful of trying new things (when I don’t know how to prepare it). However, YouTube broadcasters (like you) make it easy. I’ve only made it twice and that was in a pressure cooker. It’s so delicious! Only thing is, I didn’t season it before cooking. Today, I am going to try it your way (roasted) and see which one I like the best.:)
come on, the mere fact it’s only few calories over ounces and ounces of food.. you can eat and eat and eat.. and still get slimmer or not gain extra pounds. I loved spaghetti squash just for this and with garlic going to love it even more.
Since you put water in your tray…can I just steam it.
Thanks for your guidance
Danni please show me a pic of the Garlic powder you use. thank you
OMG!!! Thank you! Been having a hard time finding spelt pasta so I gave in and ate spaghetti pasta for my spaghetti and I feel absolutely horrible, since I’m intermittent fasting. Wish I’d seen this first. Is the squash literally called spaghetti squash?
How do you make the noodles soft… My Squah noodles came out hard.. I nearly choked to death
so mid way of me trying to cut through the fruit…my handle on my knife broke off and got stuck in my squash LOL i was able to fix it to get it right tho… i need to buy new knifes
Thank you! My sister bought a squash on impulse and had no intention of using it, so this video really helped me!
You said butternut. Is it butternut or spaghetti like the video says?
I don’t get it. I have already bought squash in spagetty way, how to cook it? I saw you only showing how to scrape it out from start. I have a plastic bin of it. J don’t need to scrape! Do I boil it? Do I pan fry it? Steam it? Absolutely useless. I need straight to the point. This is a video of how to derive it rather than cook it!!!
My dad was telling me about this and I didn’t believe my dad till I saw this and I was like! “WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?!?!?”
I have my spaghetti squash in the kitchen … Thanks for the two methods… Microwave here I come. New subbie from Eugene, Oregon.
Kaycee, yours was easy and to the point! Thanks for the tutorial! ⭐
If you cut in half and clean, cover end with plastic wrap turn upside down in microwave
nuke 5 min. or until soft. You don’t need all that water and stuff. I like the Acorn Squash and cook it like this. I scrape out the cooked insides, add butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Really good. I am planting some this year 2020. I might do some Spaghetti ones.
Warzywa to jedli Ci co byli za słabi, żeby na mięso zapolować.
Everytime I look @ a sghetti squash I feel overwhelmed. Haha I have to try this
Thanks for sharing your style… I love garlic. I have to try this recipe.
This is the only way I cook spaghetti squash now. It is just effective and efficient.
Butternut squash? That looks like spaghetti squash…no water when cooking it? The best ever!
This definitely the best method. So I glad I found your video. Thank you!
I’m a 33 year old man finally venturing into the kitchen on my own. Someone gave me a huge spaghetti squash and after watching several videos this is the best one. Thank you for getting right to the point and speaking clearly.
I also cut down the center for longer noodles, but I rather take out the seeds before baking. Thanks for the video!
I made spaghetti squash as pasta substitute for the 1st time recently, and I used your video as my guide to cutting/cooking it. All I can say is THANK YOU! Loved the long the strands, truly felt I was having pasta. I shared this video with a coworker and she loved your method as well.
Can you cook the Spaghetti Squash “rings” in a microwave?
How long on what setting might work?
Also, can the raw cut rings be frozen? and thawed cooked later?
Thank you for sharing we are baking it now added garlic powder and black pepper, will let you know how it turns out!
Thanks for this I have never made spaghetti squash, but always wondered what it tasted like. Janet from Sacramento
Thanks for the technique. I haven’t turned back to pasta since having spaghetti squash for the first time. Everyone who has tried it loves it. I just want to caution everyone not to cook the squash too long or it will turn mushy.
Your technique works the best of any I’VE tried. Thank you so much. Another bonus I have to share, is since I don’t try to eat an entire squash, I was able to reheat in the microwave and each ring made a perfect portion for a great meal. Thank you again.
Is it common to put water in the bottom of pan? The only technique I’ve heard & used is puncture the outside a few times w/ a fork to allow steam to escape, no water used. I will have to try it this way.
Brittani, I LIKE this method! You cut it up ahead of time, so that you don’t have to do a big scoop of seeds, it’s broken into groups. I never thought of roasting the seeds, I am going to do that. I like the way you thoroughly explain the “how” and the “why.” I am now a (new) subscriber!
A young cook over here, (who is trying to watch what he eats), this is the first and last spaghetti squash video I’ll need. Ty!
This man proves one thing with his cooking. Thats you dont have to have a high end kitchen setup like some of these tubers just to show how to cook good food. Im still amazed at his cauliflower pizza.
Spaghetti squash is some thing iv never here’d about but looks delicious will look out for thi. Susan from England
I found that roasting them cut side up reduces the amount of water in the squash. I hate watery spaghetti squash.
…you forgot to say to scrape seeds and “innards” after cutting but before baking!!!!!!
I use an old grapefruit spoon to scoop seeds from squash and melons. Since I can’t eat grapefruit anymore, I repurposed the spoons. °\(ッ)/° ßÏG HÛGŠ
I’ve never thought of cooking spaghetti squash in the microwave
