Definitely going to try this exercise. Ir looks like a fun way to work out
Do not care about benefits I want to know how to do it faster
What muscles does this work specifically going down and up stairs?
Dude, you’re a boss. Can you do a routine that utilizes bodyweight and resistance bands soon?
never even heard about bear crawl exercise, very well made instructive demonstrations and the four variations are consistent and blend well together for mobility warmup.
I have used bear crawls for a long time, but became especially interested in them a few years ago
awesome vid man, you always show something that i have never even thought of adding to my routine. cheers Scott keep up the good work #HermanNation
Awesome man! That is a really good point. Very intense and low impact on the joints. Well said man!
thanks man, im thinking of doing this in the playground near me
Sir whats the benefit of this exercise..Which body part it is taregetting..
Another great and informative video. I’m glad I discovered your channel. Thank you.
Never did this kind of exercise before and it does not look easy, that is why I like FFP. Thanks Dr. Balduzzi.
First time I heard about the bear crawl exercise, sounds like an amazing way to lose weight and maintain a perfect body shape. Thank you for the awsome tutorial.
I will try this exercise. First time knowing about it. Thanks
Never seen this exercise before but looks really good to burn weight!
This is probably the most underrated exercise there is. The problem: most gyms don´t have enough space to do it in. Bummer. Oh well, if you don’t mind people staring, try crawling home.
I didn’t realize there were different types of bear crawl. Thanks for sharing this!
Increase our core strength and improve our stability during mobility, very interesting exercise program for my fitness training. Thank for the head up!
Love the advice, definitely going to put be puttting this work out in tomorrow!!
Ido Portal and GMB Fitness have been promoting these animal movements for quite awhile but I’ve only recently discovered them. Great instructional video and animal flow is something I like to play around with on my “rest” days.
This is a new exercise to me but i am definitely going to add this to my workout routine. Thanks!
I am amazed on how the tutorials get better and better. Fun and interesting too.
This looks intense, but beneficial. will try one day maybe lol
Excellent!! Very interesting & effective exercise for fitness… We should follow him. Thank’s to sharing.
This is definitely new to me. I never know this move is an exercise but no doubt strengthen your core, which is crucial.
This video about the bear crawl was great! I learned a lot new things and definitely recommend checking it out.
Bear crawl is the best one i’ve ever done! Great job for posting
I never heard of this exercise. It seem like a very intense move
Sure, then I will teach you how to sit and show some respect as well.
This was funny. But appreciate the initiative. Thanks doctor.
I don’t even know who this person is to assume it would be fake. Either way, still bro-science “reasoning”
definitely gonna try adding this into my workout routine, thanks bro
haha, thanks man. Hard to tell when its a comment on YouTube:)
Wow GREAT VIDEO.Video demo is excellent.THANK YOU MAN!! Keep up good work
wow this is really wonderful exercise for fitness. i wish everyone should try this. thanks for sharing nice information.
Oh no.. Not Bear crawls:( I did these to warm up for wrestling practice… Not a fun time:)
You will improve endurance, coordination, and you will really strengthen your shoulders
I don’t get it. Are you going forward or moving your arms and legs on the spot?
I wish she did a full motion demonstration, it was a lot of talking which I appreciate is needed to explain but she didn’t do a full motion
aha Yeah, I did mma and it was always used for warmups and endurance..So I will see a change in my shoulders and quads if partnered with other exercises am I right?:)
thank you for this tutorial! cause of this virus volleyball got cancelled so now i have to work out at home! my coach gave us a list of workouts to do and bear crawls were on it. i’ve never even heard of these before
Thanks, Alexia! This explanation and tutorial for the Bear Crawl really helped me. I just started doing them recently, but I realize now that I have been trying to cover too much ground with each step, and I should keep it smaller. I was doing exactly what you said NOT to do, by my knee coming up past my elbow. I think I got this now!
Alexia, thank you for this tutorial. It helped me a lot
Greetings Alexia. I am just writing to find out why although I feel that I am doing bear crawls correctly, I still don’t feel any burn in my abs?
So I have to admit, this was the 3rd tutorial that I watched and it’s because on the thumbnail I seen an attractive girl so I figured “nah she’s gonna say some girly shit and not explain it right, I need it broken down ape style.” 100% you nailed the explanation of this and did an awesome presentation as well. So I figured I would admit to being a judgmental asshole and apologize. Thank you for the awesome tutorial and I hope everyone has fun staying fit.

You are beautiful! I love a strong bodyit shows commitment to ones health and I think self-love is beautiful ♡
Very inspiring ♡
Thank you for posting this. My unit has been training bear crawls improperly and with no tension, however, this is how I’ve done it and I’m being belittled for such form. Thank you for posting such quality content.
The 80 haters should be forced to do Bearcrawls as punishment.
I want to know when this was invented. Probably by a Football Coach Eons ago. All I know is when I was a freshman in High School. We got put with the JV team after the Freshman season was over, and Before Practice had to do 200 yards because some of the JV team was late for Practice. That stuck with me, that I do them as part of my workout. Basically a 40 yard Variety, resting for about a minute and 30 seconds in between reps, started out doing 4 Reps, now up to 6, last year I got up to 10. Best to have proper equipment such as Gloves,
Cheers for the explanation. Looking to use this for some fun functional training.
Thanks man, I’m doing research for a series I’m doing with my brother where we try to get in shape and become beefy boys.
Thank you for this video it’s very informative and I think your way of doing it is better
Im kinda triggered
That aint bear crawl
And that aint how bear walks
Bear isnt walking with alternating sides
He moves both right legs, then both left legs, both right legs, both left legs
So when u move ur right hand u should move ur right leg,and when u move ur left hand u move ur left leg too
You crawl like a kid just that your knees are off the ground. Thanks
after searching this looked like best video just by the picture
I usually do a three day a week split of warm up, strength and 10-15 minute intervals and some stretches. Strength is usually a squat/pull superset (this cycle of front squat/rows) or a hip hinge/push (deadlift/push up variation bench is out for my shoulder.) After that superset, I do a lunge/one leg exercise and the other upperbody move so if i did deads/push I do lunge/pull or on squat/pull days I do lunge/push. For intervals i try to get 1-2 days a week of 10-15 minute emom bear crawl 20 yards. Bear crawling is insanely effective of getting virtually every muscle/joint and great for cardio. I dont do it every workout to give shoulders a break and sometimes run sprints or farmer walks for 10-15 minutes. I have worked out for years and this system has made a massive difference in my gym time. If all I did was bear crawls, sprints and farmer walks I feel great. The weights just glue my body together and help me sleep like i did when I was a kid
Make a crawl video where you don’t bend any of the joint except elbow and ankles….this type of movement will make one a super stalker in forest and grassland…
Who else here because there football coach makes you do bear crawls
I guess if you want to look like a bear you need to act like one!
Your channel is super underrated. I’m starting to implement quite a few things you’ve been posting. Much appreciated.
I love crawling. please make more tutorials on different styles of crawling. thank you:)
I did the by the woods and now there is alot of alleged bigfoot sightings
Hi great video! How do is it call the movements you do at the 1:55? Its a movement of capoeira?
Thank you for this. Now the park rangers stalk me whenever I do this out in the woods.
Kid:dad they been abusing me at school
Dad:what they do to you
Kid:
You misunderstand the purpose of a bear crawl.
Also, don’t engage your core when doing this. Look to more experienced move professionals to re inform yourself please.
I’ve been looking for new core strengthening exercises, the bear crawl looks really good, like how there are so many variations too. I’m gonna start adding this in to my daily routine. Thanks as always Doc.
Just before watching this i get a GET RIPPED ad.. coincidence? I think not
Skip past all the blokey bullshit and goto 2:45 for the exercise. Talk about overkill with the two guys standing around commentating.
Your intro is way too loud and you don’t need to fucking shout into the microphone, thanks.
I’ve walked 1 km bearcrawl without stopping a few times. Not as strict form as shown here though. Still good cardio when your groin is bad and you can’t run…
I’m gonna try just for the fun of it! Can’t wait to try the sexy bear one.
All crawls are awesome no equipment workout. I’m going to try bear crawls up a hill, feet first to burn out my shoulders at the end of todays workout. Hopefully no one will be watching…
why does everyone that do a bear crawl do the opposite and go really fast and look like a dog
You are very welcome my friend! #HTH!! Keep training hard!:)
Athletics with it in a pretty good teammate but when we do drills I’m not the best at Bear crawl most people pass me fast
Just an observation (and an uneducated amateur one at that), should your hips more or less only be moving forwards and backwards? As opposed to side to side and up and down? I went to a seminar on rugby union S&C and an academy player demo’d the bear crawl, and his hips remained moving forward without going up and down or side to side. Just wondering?
Never heard of this exercise before. It’s certainly interesting. I’ll give it a try.
I do these alot, people will look at you like “who the hell is this guy” but its just because they dont have the balls to do it themselves, this exercise is fantastic.
Hey Scott, THis brings back bad memories!:D We had to do this ALL the time in tennis, the worst part was, we had to do them sideways, try that out! it burns!
Hey Scott should you do the crawl with your legs inside your arm lenght or should they be outside the arms…. hope you understand my question.
Scott thanks for replying, you’re a top guy… To be honest I got scared/ embarrassed to try it:-(..But will try it next shoulder workout for sure ;-)..Keep up the good work..
Hi, Thanks for coming back. Your tutorials have helped me a lot in the gym. I hope to see more of these tutorials.
To be honest, think he should gain some muscle. that would make him look even better.
My football coach made us do 120 yard bearcrawls and then 120 backwards after. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done.
I like the exercise but it’s annoying how I barely have space in my house to do this
Pl tell one or two more such core burn / cardio..workouts with bare hands.
I am visting USA in June and stay upto Sept. If I cannot get enrol in a any nearby gym. what I do is to watch the programs as this one from SHF and practice all day long. Thank you, for new upload. I watch every video of SH.
I just respond to comments, I don’t waste the time to see if they are fake or not.
I tried this and ended up crawling like spidey, lol. Nevertheless it was intense! Gonna need more practice:)
yeah, I think that sometimes people spend so much time in the gym they forget that all they need is their body to get a killer workout. #HTH brotha!
2020 be like: I’m onnnn quarintineeee
3030 be lik3: I’m still on quarintinee
oh man! that is going to be intense! Have you tried downhill before? It is intense!!!
This is really wonderful exercise for fitness. Increase our core strength and improve our stability during mobility, very interesting exercise program for my fitness training. I wish everyone should try this. thanks for sharing nice information.
Think that the lower your knees are to the ground the better. These are really good exercises. I think of it like I’m climbing a ladder only horizontal. When you see people do these wrong, their asses are usually way up in the air.
hey scott. not the biggest viewer when it comes to your subscriber but i wanted to say HEEEY nice new intro i really like it:D
OMG…. that must have been one of the most brutal experiences..
Love this execise Scott. I have my clients do this wearing a pulling harness attached to a slastix or gun ex bungee rope for timed periods. It is utterly brutal. Otherwise you can do it pulling a weighted sled.
So then maybe you can help explain why it is a staple exercise used when doing conditioning training for MMA?
This was part of the warm-up routine in my physical acting class.
Sure, It’s been a while since we did a resistance band routine.
LOL! Great comeback! You got him to clarify that he was joking and is actually a fan.
I’d sign up for bear crawl and sitting respectfully, if I could actually catch a frisbee in my mouth without getting bonked.
I used to do this all the time at MMA, definitely a killer exercise when someone has a strap around your waist and you have to pull them along as well.
And that ladies and gentlemen is why bears have strong upper body
This is actually something a lot of MMA fighters use in their training. The burn in your quads and shoulder is excruciating. You also work your coordination as well as your cardio endurance. Overall, a great exercise.
this guy has to choose his identity
are you a monkey or dog or bear??which animal are you?
These are great, yet also seem to put much emphasis on the wrists, which could lead to strain on that joint…any suggestions to to prevent or modify? Thank you!
Happy to hear that. Always happy to help you switch it up brothsa!
For the last 16 hours YouTube’s response to clicking Like has been:
“This feature is not available right now. Please try again later.”
Grrr! A lot of viewers have been disenfranchised. So just multiply the numbers by 2.
I don’t know why anyone would dislike this video. If people don’t want to exercise correctly and change it up, then why are they here?
i do this with a bar bell on my back. and to make it challenging i increase the weight. 225 is my max….
Hey man, what muscles does this exercise work? Or is it just a injury prevention exercise? Thanks
All you other bitches shut the fuck up, why would you click on a video if you already know how to do it?
Wow! Buddy lol..a little too quick and eager to drop to those kneesLol, let me stop…Good stuff though
I love how there are about 100 different videos on the bear crawl on YT, all claiming to show the “right” way.
Scott nails it at 1:40.
If you’re struggling with “proper form”, you’re overthinking it.
Babies don’t much… but even they know how to crawl.
Go forward on all fours.
It’s that simple and that hard.
Is it a bear crawl, a spider man; should I use a flat back, angled back, fast, slow… who cares?
JUST DO IT.
I do this a lot but i never knew is called bear crawl exercise. thanks for sharing more light on this funny exercise..
Ive gotta say this exercise is really fucking hard if youre a bit overweight. I had to do this around some cones for american football 3 times as a warmup. Id be on my knees about 3/4s of the way the first time and by the third time id probably manage 2/3 meters before i was on my knees.
It gets your ‘explosive/burst’ cardio up pretty quickly though, id recommend it.
What effect will this workout have on my body? Is it cardio, core, strength? Etc
Thanks for sharing this helpful bear crawl technique! I’m always trying new exercises to help with flexibility and strength, and this looks like a great one to add to my workout routine.
This is interesting! I’ll have to try this exercise into my fitness into my routine. Great video!
Is the specific crowl movement the same as bear crawl?
then, how to do it?
I was living in South America,mo access to gym or weights,so I came up with a crawling exercise ( new to me,I thought I invented it),I do 4 sets of 1/8 mile each, but I do my sets past exhaustion and thus work ALL muscles, even my traps get some action.
There’s nothing fun about bear crawls. Bent crawls can be done for speed. To go really fast… if you ever need to go really fast on all fours… get down on your forearms and let your legs spring you forward. You learn a lot about how to crawl at OCS.
I’m fucking terrible at these. I overrun my hands and bust my ass.
So, when a guy does this it’s called bear crawl and when a girl does it it’s called cat walk? or these are different exercises?
knew there had to be more to it than just being on all fours crawling around.
