TRX Rows, like any other exercise, is pointless unless you go through a complete range of motion, and you do this by getting full extension in your arms.
How to do TRX Inverted Row: Step 1: Hang the TRX cables on something high. Step 2: Grab the handles and hang down directly under the ropes. Step 3: Let your arms extend up. Step 4: With your palms facing inwards pull your body up to the handles just below your chest.

To make this harder, walk your feet further forward so your shoulders are even closer to the ground.
If you choose to do your inverted rows on a suspension trainer like the TRX, then you get all of the above and more, because the instability involved in pulling your body up using ropes rather than a bar means that your core has to work harder throughout the exercise to maintain your body position.Performing TRX pull ups requires a specific way and there has to be a trainer who can guide you about the things which really matter to you. Seems like a really good exercise to make some good gains, great video!
Very well explained, been dealing with a slight back injury as of recent so this helps a bit.

I have a new TRX workout coming out Tuesday! Be sure to check it out!
Suspended rows or reverse rows? Or both? What do you think Scott?
You would need something sturdy enough to safely hold YOUR weight:)
More TRX please Max… individual workouts… explaining what body parts they work on, as you have in this video… and a suggestion of complimenting TRX exercises, just the suggestion… people can formulate then, their own workouts and regimes…really ‘do not’ like full workout programs… better to see individual TRX exercises as people will see the technique and form much better… Massive thanks, really enjoyed this and learnt from it… all the best from the UK

Dr, I can see why this workout is your favorite to build a strong back. I tried and the muscles of my back were fully engaged
Have a question on general workout. If we workout for around 2 hours in gym includes cardio and weight training, a time comes when we stop sweating any more. Is that the point we should stop working? Some people say, when we stop sweating and yet continues to work, body start burning muscles for energy. How much truth is there in that statement? Muscles are hard earned and no body wants to burn it for whatever reason. Thanks in advance.
i have made a lot. Have you not been catching my latest videos? Check out the Total Body JUST LIFT videos:)
of course you can…. Did you notice that the panels are not on the wall yet in this video? lol As I said in the last Sunday Update, I still have some videos that will have the echo because they were filmed before the panels were installed.
When a doctor speaks, I listen. Thanks for the detailed explanation, it really helps.
TRXRow is an efficient total body exercise. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Several moves at OTF lately and my right inner elbowish area is yelling a little, now I may know why
Thank you for all you do for the LGBT community, Scott. You really are a true blue straight ally superhero to us and we will always be grateful for all you do in the fight for equality and will be loyal to you (we tend to be that way with our straight friends). Stay strong and take care of yourself.
This is a new product for working out. Learning something new.
Lately I am hooked up with TRX exercise and thank you for more suggestions and ideas.
This is a great exercise to increase the strength of our arms. It has benefit as pull ups. Thanks for sharing the exercise.
Scott, just ignore them. It’s not worth it. You, I and everyone else knows that this video isn’t useless for the beginners and even some people that already workout. This stuff is quite new to most gyms, so it’s very informative for others. I love doing this at my gym after back exercises. I feel it stretches and relaxes the muscles after a hard workout, especially pull-ups.
why do people keep saying mikey brought me here? how did it all start?
YAY TRX!:D
Thanks for the great vid! Very good excercise as always.
Please do some more TRX vid Scott, it’s such a great tool!
Terrific video with detailed explanation. Yes more Trx vids please.
all the muscles that stabilize your torso (abs, obliques, lower back, and the inner abdominal wall etc)
Wow this is very awesome and useful method of TRX row. So I like this very much. Thanks for sharing this information.
Great tutorial on doing this exercise safely. Thanks for always showing us how to add these to our routines
This video about the TRX row was great! I learned a lot new things and definitely recommend checking it out.
Been looking for a something different to work my back. Not experienced with suspension trainers but I’ll definitely give it a try! Thank you for a good, clear tutorial.
😀 Very nice. Some dood at the gym told me “Flex the elbow to initiate movement, and PROTRACT your shoulder blades as you do. Stuck with me everytime I do the trx row.
Nice video. i enjoyed this video all situations. this will make more fun. thank you for sharing.
I’ve been wanting to get more fit, especially for the coming summer. This will really help, great demonstration!
This exercise looks so fun but hope the suspension is strong enough though. I’d like to try this TRX Row if I have a good suspension.
Very informative and helpful video. I will try to follow your suggestion properly. Thanks for sharing.
Because I have a video series called “Just Lift” and in that series I have several HIIT type training videos my friend:)
Korea is still chilly outside.. So when it gets warmer i’d like to work out outside. Thanks scott!
Well… the workout is, but the video isn’t! Soon! You will regret wishing it was completed so quick!!!! muahahahahahahah
Is it wrong to let your scap to protract forward during this?
This is great information. I love it. I wear leather lifting gloves that have wrist wraps. This really helps prevent that curl in. Also helps keep my hands from getting torn up or sweaty and slippery.
This is a very useful video and it helps me out tremendously. The exercise he teaches really rips your back muscles and underarms. Great tips.
you should be eating 1gram to 1.5grams per pound of lean bodyweight in protein:)
not to my knowledge. Not sure where all these posts are coming from lol
Well, if doing a circuit I would pick one or the other to maximize time!
If you don’t have a TRX the smith machine works just as well
yeah they can be both a great warm-up and hardcore exercise!:)
I’ll be trying this out during my next back day. Thanks for the tips!
If i do this workout outdoors which circumstances is required for vertical hold?
This is one of the best tutorial videos I’ve seen using the TRX. Really like how you explained how to find the best starting position. Know this is kind of old but I’ll throw this out there. How about a video on how to do a TRX pull-up. I watched one from TRX and the guy does not explain how to avoid the pitfalls that he brings up in the video.
I am sure you didn’t have perfect form when you first started to lift. This community is full of both advanced and beginner lifters. Show some respct for your fellow gym goer bro
Not that I am opposed to working with other fitness professionals, but I am a bit thrown off by the mass messages below! lol.. can someone post me a video link? Thank you!:) Looks like mikey has some loyal community member:)
Tried that last week, i liked it. But my body weight was making it really hard for me, but i never give up. Thanks for another great video:)
I wish someone had explained to me how medial epicondylitis starts three decades ago. It’s strange how some important details are kept quiet about. Anyway, thank you!
I’m loving these TRX exercises! When I got my TRX not long ago I was a bit discouraged because I’d never used one before and didn’t know a lot of ways to use it. After watching a lot of your videos I’ve basically got a full TRX routine now for every part of the body. Big thanks for your help!
small change but big benefit, thanks for another informative video!
yeah.. well.. I like to regulate the community to let them know I don’t stand for the BS. I don’t respond to them all… but at least for the first couple weeks on a new video I am all over it.
Happy to see you commenting brotha:)
This actually looks pretty fun! Can never have enough back exercises. Thanks doc!
Open legs remove significant resistance tho, I can go almost parallel with open legs ♂️
