How To: Use a STABILITY BALL in your Workout
Video taken from the channel: Heather Robertson
Lay with your chest on the stability ball. Place your hands on the ball at the sides of your chest. They will be shoulder-width apart.
Place your toes on the floor, legs straight. To perform the move, you’ll need a Swiss ball. Prop yourself up on the ball in an elevated pushup position, with your palms down and your hands pointing away from each other.
To keep.Action: Perform a push-up by lowering your chest toward the stability ball until your elbows reach just below 90 degrees or your torso contacts the ball. Then press yourself away from the floor until just before your elbows straighten.
While keeping your elbows slightly bent, squeeze on the ball by driving you hands towards one another. To work on stability in your shoulders, try pushups from a seated position. Sit on a bench with your palms down, arms at your side. Your feet should rest.
How to do it: Lean forward and place your forearms on either side of the top of a stability ball. Walk your feet back and into a plank position. Brace your core, glutes, and legs.If you use one ball, then you’ve got two options: first, you can do something similar to a close grip push up where you put your hands on either side of the ball, balance your body and perform the movement; second, you can use a standard push up hand width, put one hand on the ball and the other hand on the floor, and the do the push up movement.
To start with the wall push-up, place your hands on a wall and walk your feet back as far as you’re comfortable. Keep your hands under your shoulders and lower toward the wall, making sure your elbows are in and your core is engaged. Push off from the wall into the starting position and repeat. The benefits of push ups are numerous.

Those are super great exercises! Never did booty lifting though so it will be fun
thank-you! i didn’t realize there were sizes and my ball is too large! this could explain some of my problems!
I appreciate the mods and different levels. Admittedly, I’ve been frustrated with the ball, but now that I know I can start at a lower level and build up.:0)

This is very helpful. It would be good if you also cover how to use dumbbells and ball together. How would you pick up dumbbells when on stability ball?
Thanks for this tips in how to effectively use the stability ball. This will help out
Yes the ball is challenging but I’ll keep trying. Thanks for the tips.
this is very difficult one..also u can sometimes combine it with knee tuck..
It only took me a week to inflate it! LOL! Realized when I tried my friends’ that I had a busted hand pump! Got a great bicep workout from it though!
Exactly the video I wanted to watch since I started to use a stability ball from your workouts

Oh my,,so so so super glad you came up with this video cos I’ve been having problems with the ball, apart from the fact that it keeps “running “away. So great to know that you take note of the comments and give a solution immediately. Keep them comingstill hanging in there despite the increasing intensity of cardio, which I just do adjustments according to my own physical state, love love Heather
@Heatherrobertson I along with my kids are doing ur 12 weeks how do they do stability ball workouts without the ball?
It’s hard to keep the balance but I think that with some practice it will eventually become easier.
These tips were VERY HELPFUL. Shared this video on Facebook. Thanks so much.
My exercise ball moves around too much, is that a problem for anyone else?
@captainspiwtf It means you have to train your stabilizers a bit more. You shouldn’t just work out the pectoralis majors, but also minors. Same with MANY MANY MANY other muscle groups. It will REALLY help you in the long shot.
Thanks for the reminders! When I taught group fitness we went through stability ball training, and I remember thinking I would never use this. Well, my ball has a permanent spot in my living room as a very essential, much love/hated piece of equipment that I could not live without! All the squats and lunges in the world don’t provide the ‘ball burn’ I get when using my stability ball. We even have them in our elementary school as chairs for the little ones and they love them! (Had to laugh at those facial expressions and the ending good work!)
Thank you Heather for this video. I have just realised that my ball was not inflated enough and I was struggling with some of the exercises. Now that I watched this video and put more air into my ball I am getting better at using the stability ball.
Thank you so much for the great informative Videos! And also thanks for the great 12 weeks Workoutplan! Love them!
You make a very good version of me running behind my ball lol
I started doing these after a surgical repair on a torn labrum in my shoulder. The ball forces the shoulder muscles and joints to work for balance while strengthening them at the same time.
i suspect the fitness model doesnot know anything about body neutral alignment. he is looking forward damn it. And i wanted to use this video as a reference.
Thank you for this video. I am going to practice practice practice today because it frustrates me so much when I cannot get the excercise done correctly due to imperfect form. Loving this series. 10 pounds lost so far

great advice and tips!! Heather what about pre-workout / post-workout or protein powders and supplements would you recommend?
even though i eat clean and mostly vegetarian, i wonder if an extra boost would be helpful on this 12 week journey.
What a great tutorial on the ball. I’m going to get one asap. I feel more comfortable after watching this. Thank you so much Heather!
Thanks for these tips. I have been doing the workouts outside on my deck and have had to chase the ball into the lower level between exercises at times so will use the weight holder trick now. Funny to watch it roll across the backyard, though.
Looking forward to building a healthy relationship with my stability ball:d

can this exercise be done daily, or should i take rest between days?

It would be a shame if you did not burn fat when other people are able to lose weight easily with Fat Blast Blueprint (check it out on Google).
Super Helpful video!!! Thank you!! The stability ball struggle is real!!!! LOL!
you cant isolate a single part of one muscle as the muscle fibers all work once under tension but it should feel like its at the top of the chest
