Always great content. I have been using your insights and it has worked quite well. Keep it up!
I know this was a year ago but I am stuck and a little confused. Do I do all 3 steps at once or for 2 weeks 12 hours on 12 hours off and then another 2 weeks keto and then after those 4 weeks switch up my workouts?
I am the same height! It is HARD getting weight off a small frame. I am at a plateau now, with 30lbs to go. This is most definitely a journey! Kudos to you and thanks for the tips! ❤
Used to be 200lbs, I was 115 and I gained 15 in the last year or two, trying to get back down to 120 again! I’ve seen small changes and I seem to forget that I’m smaller than I was at 200lbs and shouldn’t be expecting to lose 2lbs per week healthily anymore. I will go back up to 1400 calories and stop worrying about why the weight isn’t coming off quick.
I thought I was the only one who had a goal phsyique and not a goal weight!!
so that i call thommy Diet xD… the only diet tutor that allow me to eat more and still able to break my plateau and loss weight
I’ve lost 20 pounds and seems yo be stuck now for few weeks. Going to try this. thanks
Great stuff Thomas. Thanks for the tip. Let you know how it goes. Scott
I do love your calm nature and added that weight loss is not linear
But were all the other variables between the two groups equal? ie: age, calories consumed, macros, starting weight, body composition. I’ve found a 2 day break beneficial is I’ve started to plateau.
I eat an evening snack at 8pm, then try to fast as long as possible
Paul thank you so much for all the videos you post they help me a lot you the man.
i started to work out but i don’t know if i need to do it every day or less or?
I’ve lost 43 pounds in 3 months, but I hate working out, the fast heart rate gives me anxiety! I do it anyway, but it sucks!
I hate my body, it totally loves being fat. The only way I can lose weight is if I eat less than a thousand calories a day and I can do it but I don’t want to because that’s bullshit.
I’ve always been active somewhat and was always within the normal weight range. That all changed last year. I gained well over 20 kgs in one year. From 62kgs to 86 and became overweight for the first time in my life I’ve just gotten back into fitness and have lost 6kgs in one month. I’m now at 80kgs and my weight is not going down anymore. It’s stressing me tf out tbh. Thank you for this. I lost the 6kg super fast it seems.
Lower insulin levels, burn fat. Intermittent fasting breaks a “set point”. See Dr Jason Fung. Stop counting calories.
This is one of the most helpful videos I’ve seen about fitness and nutrition, thank you❤️
1. Fast for 12 hours and eat for 12 hours in your intermittent fasting 2. Take up a ketogenic diet for 2 weeks. 3.change your workout timing
hi! i’m a little confused. my tdee is 2,117, so how much am i supposed to eat to be in a deficit? (i’ve been eating 1300) thanks in advance:)
I’d like to give YOU a re-feed Matty…. if you get what I’m sayin’ wink wink
Guys idk if I’m supposed to eat more than 1500 I’m supposed to eat 2900 (according to TDEE ) I’m 85 kg and 175 cm so any help + I workout everyday (hiit)
I sleep around 3:30 In the morning and then I wake up again at 7:30 then i get 2 to 3 hours of sleep in afternoon,, isint crazy?
Thank you so much, this is great info.
Can you help with workout routine please.
Hey! Nice video. I hit a plateau but like you mentioned I need to eat less and work out harder! ill update you on the results of that.
Side note: Please touch the topic of entering the nursing program. I recently completed all my pre reqs then took a 1 1/2 break due to issues. I am now ready to apply for program. Any tips? Can you tell us you journey?
Thanks. bless
How do you restart your weight loss if you keep maintaining? It is so frustrating. Putting the effort in my diet and excercise and seeing no results on thr scales…
Yeah my problem definitely is eating to little I I thought 1300 cal was enough but I feel fatigue even after 2 days ima try 1500
I’ve been trying to lose weight by doing a clean eating lifestyle. I started a week ago and I lost no weight at all. I don’t understand why this is Happening but it’s making me wanna call it quits.
This was really handy. Thank you! I’m stuck in a plateau after losing two stone. I’m still eating 1500 calories and a day and exercising 2-3 times a week. Think I just need to work harder, I’ve been slacking quite a bit tbh…
I’m down from 206 pounds to 149-151lbs, at 5’8 male. Got abs coming in nicely. Very vascular now. The last bit of lower abs still hasn’t shown yet, though the hip flexors are coming in also. I think at this point since my calories are 1600-1700 a day and I work out and do cardio, it just comes down to patience. I also do intermittent fasting for at least 16-17 hours a day. I suppose my body reached its set point and hopefully I can whittle the last bit of fat down. I’m just not sure what els I could do besides maybe up the cardio.
“it’s as simple as that…BUT….it’s more complicated than that “……DUDE….you should work for the government! Jus’ messin’,,,,,good vid.
This is precious knowledge Matty. I have never heard something like this before. Why are you sharing this on youtube? This is more like a coaching imo.
So happy that I found you my question is what is the best oil for baking and is it okay to use wheat flour with regular flour mixing or should I use like an almond flour with regular flour just trying to easily slow into these dietary changes
i’m 17 lost 3.5kg in 20 days with 1200 calories diet WITHOUT exercising (used to be 68.2 kg and 168cm ) so i’m 64.7 kg now… i didn’t lose anymore weight for a week.. is this consider a plateau? and does it mean my metabolism adapt faster then others bz i’ve read that it take at least 3 months for the body to adapt to low or high calories but mine adapted in only 20 days… i’m still trying to lose 5 more kg.. and if i do the reverse diet will i gain weight and can i fix my metabolism in one week “rest week” maybe increase 70 calories/day so i get to 1900 calories plz help
This plateau problem affects nearly everyone losing weight.
It really attacks a person’s psychology.
Don’t let the weight-loss guilt-trippers call you a “sinner”.
It’s a natural phenomenon and it’s not simply “calories-in-calories-out”.
Your skin is so milky and pale, which foundation do you use and do you use any creams or sunscreens
Becky, I really enjoy watching your videos for several reasons. You know what you’re talking about and you have a very honest and calming explanation that is soothing to watch. There are many people that are doing the same thing that you do but they don’t come close to your honesty and your cool and calming demeanor. I have lost weight because I’ve heeded your words. So thank you for sharing your videos, and I’ll be watching forever. Oh, I’m a 65 year old male (that looks 52) …. thin frame…and I weight 173. THANK YOU AGAIN AND I”M A BIG FAN FOR LIFE!
This is just superb, I been tryin to find out about “how to get over a fitness plateau” for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried Conabel Muscle Marmsome (should be on google have a look )? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my colleague got great results with it.
Lost 80lbs in 6 month and stalled but thxsyour video help a lot.
Ive been stuck at 129 for nearly a month, and Im afraid to eat more. Ive been on a caloric defeatist for a long time now, and I know that I should eat more, but Im afraid too. My problem is that I have no clue how much more I should eat.
I go to the gym, and I do intense running for 25-30 minutes, and I do muscle training for another 20-30 minutes.
Being honest here I admit that I have a eating disorder so I eat roughly 600-800 calories a day. I know, I know its unhealthy but I cant help it. Im trying to eat more, and healthy now.
If anyone knows roughly how much I should eat then please tell me. I’d appreciate any advice, and thank you!
Ok, I’m taking notes but I need to point out that you’re STUNNING. Like, the combo between green eyes, pale skin and black hair is just insane *. *
You kinda remind me of Melanie Murphy
You’re beautiful tho, I wish I looked like you
goshhh you were the prettiest version of yourself back then
still gorgeous but just wow
Love the vlog styles when you come to your competitors’ shows!
hate plateau….fasting…weightlift. some cardio not much following trainer advice. cant eat better…..im not sugar guy at all. im not big size eater….dont drink. dont smoke….stuck at 80 kgs and 18% fat. i was 85kg…trainer says body fat wont come lower if muscle doesnt grow….any advice…..target is 15 for now
I was 57 kg, i had 1000 cal diet for a month and i lost just 1 kg which was disappointing, but it make sense based on what you said. I’m currently eating 1500 Cal becuse i have to study 8 hours a day and i Can’t do that if I’m hungry i don’t really have time to go to the gym, do you have any suggestions? I have to lose 3kg
Well you say that 1200 calories is Insane for weight loss and then you are saying that I might be eating too much food, and I am meant to eat 900 calories a day according to my body type to actually lose weight
I have lost 28 pounds since early July losing 2-3 pounds per week. I have slowed now to 1.5-2 per week. I am 44 pounds from my goal. Should I start a brisk walk? I am eating the same foods. Any suggestions?
can you make a video showing us what you eat in a day on a keto diet..
What constitutes an actual plateu? I’ve stalled for up to two weeks only to see things going down again. So how long would you wait until concluding your at a plateu?
That lady is gorgeous and glowing with health.
I don’t think she’s doing anything wrong.
She needs to relax about it maybe
Sorry dude, calories in calories out is not a model that works.
this is the first time your video showed up in my newsfeed, you look great, keep up the good work❤️❤️.
Doesn’t dropping calories further slow your metabolism? Also will dropping calories even more cause you to lose muscle? How are people meant to be so precise with their macros e.g dropping daily carbs by 50g daily consistently, everyday life just gets in the way
Yes 40 grams of carbs makes a HUGE difference! Great content⚡️⚡️
I have found that 1 week off is all my wife and I need instead of 2 weeks. We have played around with three/four days but to bust through the plateau, one week works for us. Thanks a million Thomas. You the man.
I really needed to see this. I’ve been at 1290-1400 calories per day for 5 months and the past two months I started feeling so discouraged. My weight just stopped dropping. I KNOWW I need to go back up in caloriesespecially since I work out 5 days a week so alot of days I’m burning an extra 1000 a day and still eating only 1300. Oops.

Needed these basic hints/reminders for my weight loss journey. Thanks for getting me out of my own mind lol.
I love the way you broke this weight loss journey down! Thank you!!! You have s new subscriber!!!
I know this is random but my God what a beautiful woman
Thank you for the video. How many times a week do you go to the gym?
Thank you for all of your amazing information. I love watching any and all of your videos/vlogs during my cardio. I don’t mind the raw videos.
Starvation mode is a myth! Look in the world, how are so children in Yemen and Africa so thin? It’s a myth and definitely doesn’t exist…
I’m 27 years old, 180.2 cm. I’m also MMA fighter and training minimum 2 times a day(cardio, weight lifting, fighting and etc.) From the beginning of the month I decided to lose my weight up to 78 kg so I can fight in the different weight division. I’ve started from 84 kg. Tracked every single meal. Increased my NEAT by doing 10 000 steps a day, and not using the elevator(I’m living on 8th floor). Also i checked my self on dexa scan and it showed up that my BMR is 1980 calories so with all the activity that I’m doing I decided that to be in caloric deficit i have to consume around 2200 calories. Even though I’m not eating that many calories (sometimes lower 1300-1800, but never higher than 2200) it’s easy for me to get the protein number (minimum 160 grams).
Also I’m doing intermittent fasting 20/4 I’m eating from 17:00 until 21:00
I’ve started my diet and increased my training and NEAT exactly 2 week ago, when I was 84 kg. 2 weeks passed and instead of losing a bit I gained a lot I don’t expect huge weight loss in 30 days. But what’s happening right now is not what I expected after two weeks. For many people number on scale doesn’t matter as long as they look good in the mirror. In my case numbers really matter. So after 14 days I gained +3 kg. Is it plateau? or I’m doing something wrong?
ok so for the first one that eating too much i think thre problem with me is that i quickly jumped to eating so little that my weight dropped very quickly and then soon after my body got used to it so it like stopped losing the weight which i wasn’t even half way through losing and then i’m at a point where i’m like if i cut down any more calories i’m scared i’ll basically be starving myself and i’m trying to be more active
edit: number 2 is the explanation
You have so sexy physique……just loved your channel
Super helpful. I have been doing 16-8 for two years daily. I stopped loosing weight a whole ago but continued to fast for the other benefits. I would like to get back to loosing weight with IF. For the two week 12-12 protocol, how strict is the eating window? Secondly, in another video you mentioned only adding 50 calories additional per week when trying to bring metabolic rate back up. Does that apply here?
Thanks for distilling all this information. Truly indebted to you.
Everyone loses weight/ fat in different areas! Just cause she said she lost a lot of weight in the hips (water weight, bloat, and fat) doesn’t mean you will!!!
New subscriber here! I’m on plateau but I think it’s because I’m lacking exercise. I have thyroid so I feel the struggle for me is even trickier and harder. Any tips Matty? Pls help!
You definitely have to blog all these trips and upload them man, I would’ve loved to appear in one of your videos from your visit to the Toronto pro show, I came say hi to you when you were talking to Timberwolf.. and yes I’ll send you a video question as soon as you stop traveling around lol! Take care buddy! Enjoy your trip to Cali! Manuel:)
Yes I’ve been on keto for 6 months lost 26 pounds but I’ve hit a plateau. It’s been a month and half and not one pound. I’ve been thinking I need to do something different. I do keto perfectly I might have 1 cheat day a month but other than that I eat really good. I’ve been searching all over YouTube for answers. This was exactly the video I needed.
That’s where I live! I know some people competing! I’ll be there! I’d love to meet you!
Thank you so much for this video! Can you please help me figure out how many calories I should be eating in order to be in a deficit? I’ve seen two different ways on how to calculate it but I’m not sure what’s correct.
Thank you for this video Dr. Becky….This is exactly where I am right now…Judy in Tennessee..
Haven’t lost a pound in 4 weeks.. very frustrating. I’m going to try fasting 12-12 after Thanksgiving. Would be grat Thomas if you could dummy this down for us newbies to the lifestyle change
I’ve been on the same weight for four months. I can’t seem to get the weight off. I’m this close to giving up. I exercise, avoid sugary drinks, drink green tea and water, eat healthy, and nothing has changed! I’m at a dead here.
Whoa you look so different without braids lol I thought this was another Dami. Thank you so much for the tips, I am at a plateau right now and struggling!
I hate the explanation “You’re just not counting everything” or “You’re not counting correctly”. This pops up every time someone says they’re in a plateau despite calorie deficit. Then comes the “your body gets adjusted, so lower your calorie intake”. I eat under 1200 calories a day (yes, I count correctly, and no it’s not easy) and still plateau. I can’t bear to go any lower than that.
The last of my fat that I need to lose is stubborn fat that’s in my thighs and I just can’t lose it no matter what. I’ve been working so hard that I’ve developed a stress fracture in my shin (my bad on that part for not stretching beforehand and directly jumping into weight lifting and sprinting oops). It’s been three months and I can see abs in my stomach I just can’t seem to lose the fat on my thighs
So I went down from 85 to 80kg and now I’ve reached 74kg but it’s been something like 3 weeks and I still can’t lose anything, but I want to reach 65kg by summer and I really have no idea what to do so thanks for this video!
Thank you, this was very helpful. You look fabulous!!!
I’ve been stuck on a plateau for about 2 month and I’m so frustrated. I’ve been eating healthier (LCHF) and I’ve been doing IF for almost a year. I’m happy to have lost 110 lbs, but I’m not done by a long run. Because of my plateau, I’m starting to think I might be getting to greedy with weight loss. Hopefully your advice will help continue my weight loss journey. I know understanding my body and how it works is more important to just weight loss. Thanks for the advice! [SW:342, CW: 231, GW: 140lbs; M[30] 5’5”]
If you feel like your diet isn’t helping you loose weight anymore try doing it WHILE FASTING!!! like 16/8. You don’t have to do it everyday just 2-3 times a week and it should help
You’ll be in my neck of the woods! Too bad I have a horse race I’ll be at Saturday! I’d love to go to watch my first show soon.
Hi Dami I am sorry to say but frankly speaking I am Indian and I think Indian, Middle eastern and African people have more body fat than European, Japanese and Korean… I want to loose the few pounds but unable to reduce weight 100gram trying hard reduced calories doing moderate workout I am totally frustrated now
Did he ever di a video on “diet breaks”? Interested as I’ve been stuck for a week.
Doing some kind of resistance training is an important part of reaching and maintaining progress toward weight loss and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It is more important than any cardio workout.
What if you do these two weeks and you gain back all what you’ve lost? I’m terrified of that!:( (I am 2 months on keto and IF, im doing 18-6 and 20-4 most of the time and often 24h and 40h. It’s the first time in years I managed to get rid of 4kg. I don’t want them back! Please help!!) And thank u sooo much for these lovely videos.!
Listen guys when you’re trying to lose weight fast and if you’re hitting a plateau just do intervals stairs France after every meal and write in the morning when you wake up before you eat anything and at night before you sleep do some more stare sprints and then you would see your weight drop dramatically but you have to be dieting as well meaning very low carbs no bread no sweets and possibly almost no sugars this is really easy guys it just depends on how bad you want to lose weight and if you want to lose weight really bad and you stick to what I’m telling you you will lose weight fast remember interval stairs friends after every meal and in the morning before your meal
Hey Paul I’m here for these kinds of videos and I think you bring your best with these types of videos. Personally not into the vlogs much. I want the informations and aaaaall the knowledge!:)
I went from 194 to 160 even and I’ve been 160 for 3 goddamn months and my shit will not budge I’m trying to get to 140 these last 20lbs is stressing me out ughhhh
I have saved your video… I’ll need to watch again when my weight freefall is over. When the scale stops moving I get very upset and forget what I know.
I am going to give this advices a try for 2 weeks. I have lost 40kg with keto diet but now I am on a weight loss plateu and I am around 9% body fat.
After this two weeks off (starting this sunday) I am gonna evaluate if I start to cut again.
I can’t eat so much food to reach over 1000 calories. I’m feeling full after 2 toasts with tomatoes and salad. My counter says every time I’m 200-300 calories under my ideal calorie level. I am 18 and 5′ 8.3″
Oh,,,, Ang ganda mo talaga, Ang yong labi, mata ay nangungusap. Love here from Philippines.
Thank you Dami, you have explained what happens when you are trying to loose some weigth ewith clarity and simplicity and I found it easy to put it to practice.
Would it work better or as good if I fast for 2 weeks and take a break for 3-4 days then keep fasting for two weeks as a cycle? Because I think 2 week break may affect my willpower in a bad way but if two weeks time is necessary for my body to get shocked, I will try. I am just curious whether 3/4 day break will do just fine.
Good tip.
I will switch my IF from 16/8 to 12/12 for two weeks, just to get things stirred up and to break my plateaus
Great tips on plateaus! I just did a video on how to be crazy successful in the new year!!
hi, I was on a weight loss journey for over a year and I lost 60 pounds, and I think I’ve been in a plateau since mid-January. I’ve been eating 1330cal, and then I dropped it to 1200. But I haven’t dropped any more weight. I added weightlifting with dumbbells to my routine, bc I would normally just use the machines, and now I am trying interval workouts on the treadmill, stairmaster, & elliptical, while I would normally do the assigned fat burning exercises they had. Still no progress. The plateau is getting to me, I feel like I’m gaining weight even tho I’m just maintaining it. Any advice?
I sent you a direct message on instagram…Ik ur busy but would love some feedback..message will be from @heysierrasamone
Dami you need to come personally train me you need to get flewed out luv
So far you have been the best one to explain it very well! Thanks!
After I had revealed this weight loss plan “Yamzoko Weebly” making use of Google, I felt energized to try it right away. I was so energized. My own close friend shed 10 lbs right after this kind of fat loss plan, I truly recommend you check out Google to learn how..
I weigh myself monthly. More importantly I go by the mirror…how my skirts & dresses are fitting more more loosely; am sleeping much better… sleep is important for weight loss since fat burning occurs during sleep. Small, consistent steps! I’ve lost 17 lbs in 2 months on Keto/ intermittent fasting. All my pot belly fat is gone! Thank you Dr. Becky
How long can you do 16:8 without ruining your metabolism? Scared I will gain weight again if i stop fasting.
Hi. Ive lost 9kg so far with IF. I only need to lose 4kg more to reach my goal. Ive reached a plateau. Is it possible to just continue with the IF and wait it out?
perfect timing, i went from 81kg to 71 kg in 5 months, in order for me to hit my GW 65kg i have to shock my metabolism by going on a liquid diet for 2 weeks, i usually loose 2kg and keep the weight off.
What happens when you gain weight during your weight loss plateau?
Really needed to hear this! It’s frustrating to stall, but I keep telling myself, I feel better, I’m not in a race, I’m not tempted by sugar, so I’m in a much better frame of mind and body even with the plateau. I’ll keep breathing, trusting and staying the course!:-) <3
When i started i was 260 now im 236, i was confused for a bit because i was stuck there.
Hi there. Does reducing your calories down so much make your body use to that? I did this to start the weight loss. I still eat very well and light compared to my old life, yet it seems to make the scale go north???? Can you body live and sustain off of a very low calorie diet without loosing weight?
I’m a bit confused. So stop our regular IF schedule and do a 12/12 for two weeks? Or no fasting at all for two weeks and come back to fasting but with a 12/12?
Dr Becky while I understand the benefits of Keto for weight loss, hardly anyone ever addresses the maintenance side of Keto or Low carb eating. I went keto the first of October for the health benefits, I have Crohn’s and Arthritis and other minor aliments. I have lost the needed 10 lbs but don’t want to lose any more or people will think I’m anorexic. I am so excited because for the first time in “Years” I am living without Motrin everyday! How do you maintain a healthy weight and still enjoy the benefits (NO PAIN!)
My issue is not eating enough calories from my fast. My last meal of the night will be around 8pm…and I will fast until my lunch time the next day at 12:30pm. Or I will do an OMAD day and wait until I get home from work to eat. I’m not hungry and when I eat I get full and it’s no where near the calories I know I need to eat? Any suggestions…I notice my body doesn’t crave the carbs and sugar like I’m used to. I’ve lost maybe 9-10 pounds in 3 weeks ♀️..
Great information as always dr Becky! I only have to lose a few kilos but I am going through menopause which doesn’t make it easy at all. I decided to go Keto a couple of weeks ago for the health benefits as I suffer from arthritis and I’m also doing intermittent fasting, so far so good. Could you give us some information on how to handle the following weeks. Thank you.
Yes, can you do a video that shows the whole process from food shopping, ingredients and meals. My biggest issue is want to eat in the morning. Also, food combination, and less meat.(I need to learn to cook, for sure lol) I want to build more muscles, loose that mid section belly, I would want stronger thighs and not skinny. But my belly is not to portion, and I don’t want to loose weight. is this true that you cant just target on section?
Does a refeed with an increase of fat/calories help the plateau?
I’m 5’3 and I weigh 53kg and I’n stucked here, im not that fat but i want to be 45 kg, its so hard when i hit weight plateau
I’m on keto diet right now, and broke the plateaus, lost 6 pounds this year. And now I need to break a new plateaus. I only eat one meal per day with keto food (healthy fat), funny I don’t have any more craving, not feeling hungry until 3pm (IF). and I can still eat more and healthy food.=) Check out some of my keto food in my channel
i’ve lost 20 pounds so far and i still want to lose at least 10 more pounds, but preferable i would want to lose 20-30 more pounds. i have been on a plateau for about 1-2 months i’ve lost like 4 pounds most within the past two months, i brought my calories back up and tmr i think i’m going to bring my calories back down to 1200 calories
Why in the thumbnail is the picture of you now and you adreesing it like its your before pic? I dont get it
I am really sad and frustrated. I’ve been trying to workout and diet for over a year already, on and off, i guess i also have slow metabolism. But really nothing works, no change, ive been doing cardio for weeks recently and earlier today someone said i gained weight. It pisses me off and is just depressing.
Wtf i am 15y old and i eat 600-700caloris a day. (And I want to lose weight but I can’t I dunno why) I’m 59kg and 165. I have once a week a hard workout (2h) and 2 smaller (30m) on weekdays.
I started eating healthy a mounth ago and I started to eat less but no change.
Wtf problem with my body?
Since August I’ve lost 50 pounds however the past 2 months i haven’t been able to budge. I went from 190 to now 140. Im 5’2. I hit a plateau before and started counting calories. I did a 1200 calorie diet. Now I’m thinking doing that isn’t working, but I don’t know what to do. Eat 1300? 1400?
Thank you so much for the information breakdown and inspirational videos. Makes a lot of sense when closely examined. Helps with motivation.
Fuck the shaving ad on this video. I haven’t shaved my legs for 3 years and I couldn’t be happier
Is that Layne on JRE playing on the PC in the background?
Thanks for the video.
If I was you, I wouldn’t have this background music so loud. It is hard to watch, because it is competing with your voice.
Better without…
Gutted I stayed the same this week.. Hit me with some tips x
my appetite has disappeared, I havent been eating breakfast and lunch even though I have school and gym for the past week. then I just have some salad for dinner and that’s about it.
I ate a granola bar that had sugar:( and drank coffee with milk.
now idk what should U have for dinner to fix this
As specialist, I do think Custokebon Secrets can be good way to lost tons of weight. Why don’t you give it a chance? perhaps it will work for you too.
I hope everybody realizes that this guy keeps claiming to have been overweight, when he was just an off-season and steroid bodybuilder that puts on off-season weight and now he stays year lean year-round that’s the only difference and it was easy for him cuz he takes tons of steroids I guarantee this guy eats 6 times a day
Thank u girl. Im going thru a plateau right now but u gave me advice n im going to try these different things n see if i loose more weight.
How can this video have almost 900 dislikes. I’ve been lifting and living healthy 30 yrs of my 48yrs of life and these tips are spot on. Nothing can compare to weight training.
Can someone clarify. I do IM fasting but i’ve never liked how it’s described 16/8 as in a 16 hr fasting window, 8 hr eating window, because Thomas suggests doing it every other day. So its not a 16/8, it’s really a 16/32 since you skip fasting the next day.
Ok so when it comes to switching to 12/12 to try to break through a plateau, do you mean daily, or do you mean 12/36? I have to assume the latter but it’s not made clear unless i missed something. Thank you!
Not a fan of the blog style. I love these informative videos. These are why I tune in. Can’t wait to meet you someday. I gotta go to my first show.
i already lost so much weight i just have to loose 1-2 kilos and im good but i just cant lmao its annoying asf
Your so real Dami, please Continue with the same spirit. Am inspired by watching your videos.
OMG It’s so terribly frustrating. Check this out, Dami I went on like a 2 thousand calorie a day diet about a month ago at around 450. The weight started flying off like crazy. After 3 weeks in, I lost about 25 lbs. Now the scale has been at exactly 426 lbs for the last week. It’s terribly troubling. When you see very large people like myself on Televison, they are losing like 40 or 50 lbs a month. It’s a huge mind game for sure. You start to think that you have some type of rare condition that only 1 in 7.5 billion people in the world have that prevents weight loss:p
WOW You Are A PRO!!!
I was searching all over for someone that explains how and if eating too little can effect weight loss!!
Im sooo much clearer now thx a zillion, god bless you!
Does anyone happen to know approximately how much of a weight difference there is in between the pictures in the thumbnail? Did she happen to post it somewhere or can I look it up somewhere?
I hit a plataeu. I stayed the same weigjt for 4 days then gained a lb. I tried to love God but its not working.
So I’m kind of in a huge problem, when I started off at 220 pounds my BMR was around 2,300-400 and instead of decreasing it by -400 or -500 I went straight to 1200 and but I did lose 24 lbs and now I’m in a problem, I think my body is used to eating 1200 now I measured my BMR now and it shows 1900 what should I do now if I start eating more than 1200 I’m going to gain weight again someone help……
This helped alot, I will fix my little calorie intake. I drink lots of Juice, I just looked at it. It says 100 calories for 8oz & I drink at least 5 full cups a day.
I’m convinced that after trying a calorie restricted diet for several months and staying at the same weight, that my basal metabolic rate will lower indefinitely for my body to maintain the weight it wants to be at. More so, I’m convinced that the only way to lose fat and maintain a body-fat percentage that I want (12%) is going to be unsustainable and that I’ll inevitably be on a trend of up and down.
CICO does not work. Try keto or carnivore. Eat when hungry stop when full.
After watching your videos on reverse dieting, I’ve slowly been bringing my calories from 1400 by about 50-100 a week. I’m up to 2300 on my high days and 1900 on my low days… I’ve lost around 1lb 1.5lbs a week increasing food. Feels really good, and I still can’t really believe it.
Wonderful tips, How did you workout how many calories you ate when you started to create a calorie deficit.
I’d like to see more videos of what to eat in a day. I can’t seem to shed more than three lbs and it’s been over a month of very strict eating with no white anything, or carbs except a little brown rice and wheat toast once a week.
I’ve been low carb and IF (18-6) for 6 months now. I started at 450 and am currently 369, but the last 3 weeks I’ve not lost any weight at all, and last week I gained 1.2 pounds. My caloric deficit should have equaled 12 pounds lost over the same amount of time. I eat 2000-2300 calories per day and hike 3 miles 3 days-per-week, 4.5 1-day-per-week, and 6 miles 1-day-per-week, with 2 days of no exercise. My BMR (sedentary) is currently at 3100 calories per-day with an average caloric burning of 4700 through exercise per-week. The 4700 calories burned plus the 1000 calorie deficit from intake should equate to a loss of 3.34 pounds of fat lost per week. I’m 36 years old and 6’3″ and male.
No bullshit I thought this was Jeff cavalier just by the thumbnail
I hit a plateau since I started my workout/diet. Since day 1. I didn’t lose an inch. I didn’t lose weight and my body fat percentage increased. I’m not giving up though, I’ll keep trying. Thanks for the video.
Is it possible to build enough muscle to loose weight without lifting? Because I’m 15 and I can’t go to the gym yet, but I have to get more muscle and I really want to get into better shape…
Paul I haven’t been watching very long but you have some very insightful and helpful info.
But I’ve noticed in every video you’re leaning far over and to the left. Now I’m not sure if you’ve had an accident or neck injury or whatever, but perhaps a chiropractor or physiotherapist could correct that?
Genuinely dont know if its pain, subconscious, some sort of tension, or muscular imbalance but I’m sure its correctable? Forgive me if I’m ignorant and you have a known injury.
Lookin exhausted there buddy… hope you get some rest on your trip
I’ve lost 25 lb so far eating 1200 calories a day and I still have 75 lb to go but I hit a plateau should I increase/decrease my calories or fast?
Timely topic as I am struggling with the plateau effect. Indeed frustrating but your positive teaching gives me encouragement. Have I told you lately how marvelous your coaching is. Love your professional approach
You mentioned 12hours on and 12 hours off. What’s time mean? Is that mean if I fasting at 9am. Then I should eat again at 9 pm?
I’ve been low carb and IF (18-6) for 6 months now. I started at 450 and am currently 369, but the last 3 weeks I’ve not lost any weight at all, and last week I gained 1.2 pounds. As a non-native speaker i found a lil hard to understand some of the last words of your sentences, maybe because of your accent? but still, i want to say thank you for sharing your experience it was really helpful, i’m suscribed now!
Calories in vs calories out… wow this guy is really outdated.
I started the program lost about 12 pounds and now I am stuck, I will try this looks like every 10 pounds the body stops burning fat. I do 20/4 going to 12/12 could bring on the pounds again I need to be careful cause my body loves storing fat it must think I am floating away from earth in space lol went from 306 to 192
Great info buddy. Diet breaks (especially when finished with the adjustment down) often really help someone bust through a plateau too!
You’ve changed physically and mentally so much and I’m proud of you! You’ve motivated me during my journey ever since I discovered you in the beginning of 2018. Love you Rachel!
Sleep has been a hard one for me. I got my thyroid checked because my doc thought that could be it but my bloodwork is fine. Still can’t sleep for more than three or four hours at a time! I’ve had so many people tell me to try this thing that worked for them, but nothing seems to work.
So I began my journey saay June, last time i weigh myself I was -10kg at the end of August (then battery went off on scale, and I never bought a new one lol, which is a good thing, because I wasn’t as obsessive about my weight), so instead I started with measuring, which was fairly motivating, because each week, or every other the centimetres were going down, loose clothes, I tried clothes in the mall a couple of sizes down (based on my tracking I lost like 49cm from the entire body) and they fit perfectly and I felt and looked bomb! ☺️ But I felt like my weight isn’t moving much, so today I weighed myself at doctors, and I was 76kg from initial 90,5kg, I mean it’s a great success, although I’d just love if I could make it more efficient and drop the remaining 10kg to my dreamy 60-67kg So def. gonna take your word for this with 12/12 for 2 weeks, bulking i guess lol (gonna watch another video of yours on that topic) and theen back to 16/8 or 18/6 and 36h fast each week (recommendation from my docs ). + fasted exercise (which I’m kinda struggling with atm, prefer exercise in the afternoon). Peace ✌️
In need! On a plateau rn and I just did a week of bringing back up to maintenance….basically eating crap
I loved your video.. I will try this definitely.. Thank you for the great tips, actually i was in need of it.. I did lost my weight intermittent fasting, I m from India, i came down from 98 to 76 but then i had a miscarriage and gained 5kgs.. I m stuck at 81 its not going down… I will try your tips and will follow up you on that.. Don’t know whether you will read it or not and reply but thank you so much…
When you say “take a break from IF” Do you mean a real break, like no fasting at all or a break from 16h fast to a 12h fast?
This diet routine “Kοnοnοz yyd” (Google it) is perfectly great! I did found a good improvement in my weight immediately after using it the second time around. After 2 weeks, I burned my 10lbs of my bodyweight. The information and facts that was presented can help improve your system from within!
Great video I know the focus of this video is about weight and weight loss but do the same principles apply to body fat % plateau? I’ve been exercising regularly and doing more weight training in the past several months and for the past three weeks I’ve added 16:8 intermittent fasting at least 5 days per week. My body fat % has barely changed in months…now at a loss of how to make some progress in this area.
Thank you so much! I just tried one of those ways and broke my plateau. For anyone interested, that was switching the time of the workout on my fasted days. I went from morning to evening.
Does your body want to hibernate during the winter and hang on to fat? My biggest challenge is when the office people bring in donuts and cookies..I’m resisting and they don’t push but I have to make sure I have some nuts on me so I don’t go for the sugar. Tough!
Is there anyone actually has seen the positive result with 12/12?
Weird. My dietician suggested to increase cardio and less strength. In order to break plateau.
I actually could not wait to try the weight loss plan “Yamzoko Weebly” (Google it). This has given me pleasure. My own close friend shed 10 pounds just after this particular weight loss program, I absolutely recommend you surf Google to find out how..
Lets be positive here. I am on a journey myself of losing weight and my fiance is trying to help me as well. She drinks this red tea detox stuff and she is trying to get me to buy it as well. She says its better than green tea and also safer. Has anyone heard of this red tea vs green tea thing? I need help bc i definitely have reached a point to where im not being consistent. HELP HELP HELP! Tell me what you think. Here is the link she gave me https://www.redteadetox.com/?hop=trisriffic
Hi Doc! I went from 142 lbs to 125 lbs. Technically my goal was 125 but if I DID want to lose more, it seems like my body doesn’t want to. I eat 1200 calories a day, run 16 miles a week, and lift one day a week. What do I do?
For people who reach plateau, I highly recommend to try Alternate Dry Fasting. I did it, and have very good results, loosing again everyday 0.5 lb basically without excersising. On refeed day, I have even less appetite, after day of the dry fasting.
I hadn’t realized Chiros are accredited to give dietary advice.
I’m on this fucking plateau for 2 weeks now. Eating 1200 calories a day and running for 35 minutes everyday and weight lifting 6 times a week. It’s so annoying because I feel like I’m already giving 100% of myself and I’m stuck
Last December I weighed about 270 pounds,I got the flu after and didn’t weigh myself, then I had two weeks of intensive football training without adjusting what I ate just how much because it was as if after I had the flu my body couldn’t hold as much food so weighed my self in May at 235 I did some stuff over some went to some practices camp and near July August I weighed 220-227 then I’ve been doing mandatory football practice almost every day from end of August to now and still only weigh about 220 though I just checked and I’m 219.3 idk what’s wrong I’ve been trying to eat healthier for the most part though I have been cheating a bit from time to time I had like a pound of wings in one sitting to weeks ago with my team 3 weeks ago was a family members 50th birthday and there was some bad food there and left overs but idk what to do
Thank you! I’ve been looking for this kind of answer. Will definitely try for the next 2 weeks!
But what if you’re doing keto do you still eat keto or 2 weeks break from keto
I went vegan and I started eating around 1200-1300 calories per day. I guess I have to bump it up to 1500-1800 to start losing weight again. My BMR says I burn 1645 calories if I’m laying in bed all day. I’m trying to get to 130lbs and still have a little fat on me because I want to do a bbl.
Just a thought…if calories are a unit of energy and if your “calories out” is more than your “calories in” then won’t you have no energy??
“Wrong you’re getting 40 carbs. They lied to you.” LMAO at 8:45
Interesting you put some real life examples in your video to clarify things. Vlogging? Why not, but keep the video and audio quality constant which is an extra challenge on the field 😉
So since I already do 11-13 fasting cause I know I can’t do 16-8 rn. Should I still go 2 weeks off?
I have been stuck at the same weight for nearly a month….i am gonna try that an’ tell you the result after 2 weeks
I want to start increasing my calories (I am eating around 1200-1400 calories a day). But I do not know how to increase them, how much, and what foods. I have been dieting for a really long time now, and I kinda want to stop.
Hi! I’ve been doing IF since June 4, 2019. I am 60 years old and have lost about 15 pounds. (very slowly) I have done OMAD (20:4) and ADF. I have been plateaued for about three months and it’s very frustrating. I’m a small person….5’2″, currently weigh 143. Before my 50s, I weighed mostly 115-125 and I would like to get down to 120. I’m afraid if I switch to 12:12 for two weeks, I will start to gain weight. Is it possible for this to happen? Thanks for your input, Thomas!
Love the vlogs, too, in addition to these informative videos!
Why would anyone go to Rachel for diet advice? Rachel is a BALL! Thank you for the guest speakers.
On Lockdown, ‘working’ from home, fridge to the left, TV in the middle, fruits to the right, fasting out the window. WELP
I’m doing my own 90 day fat to fit to fat to fit transformation?!?!?! Its confusing lol ik just come check it out.
So true. I plateaued a few weeks so I decide to go ahead and eat a regular hi-carb meal and it got the scale moving in the right direction again. Makes no sense but it sure did work
I have to figure something out. I stop eating at 8pm and have breakfast at 7am. Fast again from 8am til 7pm, lost 16 pounds in under 3 weeks (no exercise). Went from 345 to 329, can’t get that 329 or 328.8 off the scale =/
V nice video Could u plz guide me how loss arms fat i love ur videos the way u explain everything is really v nice.
Hi! I went from 142 lbs to 125 lbs. i’m a 5’3 female. Technically my goal was 125 but if I DID want to lose more, it seems like my body doesn’t want to. I eat 1200 calories a day, run 16 miles a week, and lift one day a week. What do I do?
yes and then I remembered that I lose more weight the day after legs days
How do u know if u have hit a plateau? What’s the timeframe to wait to make changes? 5 days, 7 days, 9 days etc??….
All these other videos I’ve watched didn’t make sense whatsoever I have ADD so my attention span is No bueno but you made a lot of sense! Thank you! I was eating 1300… and I’m 147 and 5’6 I realized I was eating wayyy too little and I was working out 6 times a week… HIIT and weight lifting and my hair started falling out and I was always tired… I know now that I need to eat more and switch things up and relax for a bit…
Loved this and would looooove videos on what you eat in a day please
Thanks Thomas, going to follow your instructions. Some great strategies backed with a little bit of science. Thanks for keeping us all updated with your ongoing research
Such good content as I prepare for my 2nd bodybuilding competition. I am definitely making my food at home these days lol!
Hi Becky! Your calming voice and the wisdom and knowledge you share is a blessing to me! Thank you!
Excellent timing on this subject! Thanks for the stay with it message!
I’m tired of the same stupid number on the scale:(
I’m afraid if i take a break for 2 weeks i won’t get back on track:(
I just my plateau this week ive been intermittent fasting for five months and went from 316 to 229 and of even stuck all week on top of that I do the omade and take in anywhere from 2 to 300 calories days I’ve became on extremist and I workout in the morning and at night in total making it 3 hours. If I burning more than I’m eating I shouldn’t be really hitting plateaus right?
U have lost weight!!! I didnt recognize you i clicked on ur previois video and i was like what i have already seen this vid and btw u look amazing!
hey Paul, your instinct to keep the vids informational is correct I think. Maybe keeps the vlogs for contests and interviews and when there is something in particular you want to talk about. There are lot of vlogs out there and I don’t think you need to follow that necessarily.
Yes to vlogs! Any content from you is great so keep them coming any way that fits your schedule. We love you!!
I am retiree how much exercise I be good in a day. I know since I not working I am not burning the calories. How much cardio do i need in a week
I’m same way. Keto helps you with water weight. About 10 lbs. then your done. I have good ketones an fast 4 days a week and consumption of 1200 calories per day. Still I’ve only lost 10 lbs
My weight loss journey was wayyyyy slower. Maybe because I have PCOS.
Fasting and intermittent fasting are different. Those who fast intermittently aren’t really fasting. Doing an extended 2-3 day fast is great for your hormones and digestive system. Obviously it creates a caloric deficit and if you end up eating in a surplus during your feeding window then you will obviously gain weight. It is wrong to say, however, that those diets are the same as a fasting routine just because it puts you in a caloric deficit. There is a difference and someone who eats the same calories over the span of 12 hours compared to someone who eats that in a 4 hour window will indefinitely be more unhealthy and will have unstable blood glucose levels. This leads to more fat storage and less fat loss because insulin counteracts fat burning hormones. This is a fact and has been well established in scientific literature over the past few years.
Also sometimes I do eat 1200 because I don’t have a huge appetite I don’t always mean too and I’m not tryna starve myself it’s just sometimes breakfast and dinner is very filling and I don’t want to feel bloated when I don’t need to
Your content is helpful, but the low volume, poor sound quality on ALL your videos is really annoying. Check out the sound quality on headbangers kitchen, Dr. Berg…basically all other channels.
I literally need to eat 1,281 calories a day for weight loss
I really enjoy the vlogs and informational videos! Vlogs are a fun way for us to peek into the lifestyle of yourself and your competitors:-)
Coming from someone weighed 155.6 and lost 26 last year doing IT on 800lbs (which I know is insane) and cardio almost daily, I feel very defeated. I have gained maybe 4 lbs throughout my time, and now during quarantine I’ve gained 6.
I started doing everything I used to: working out, 18/6 fast, and eating the appropriate amount of 1300 max cal. I have also added probiotics to help aid my weight loss (I don’t think if this has had an effect). I have done this for about two weeks and I have gained 0.6lbs meaning I’m sitting on 141. I’m going to try your tips but is there anything else I can add on to lose this?
Thanks Thomas. Curios on 2 things more generally: 1. What is the best way to measure results? I hear weighing yourself may not be ideal during an IF routine as your body composition can change. 2. When you quote the science and studies, can you expand on your thoughts on correlation? There are many correlations that although interesting, may not be scientifically proven to address said issue. Appreciate your channel, knowledge and intelligent approach.
I morphed all the pictures of people your viewers said you looked like

Great to run into you in Chicago at the show. Thanks for taking the time to chat! Let me know when you’re in Philly. We’ll grab some good eats
The thing about weight loss plateau is the misinformations people who are dieting get from the so called experts/authorities! weight loss plateau is an expected and natural process of weight loss, or even weight maintanence! whenever I go through it I DO NOT PANIC; as a matter of fact welcome it. Plateaus gives me a chance to emotionally take a break from expectations. I just recently went through a plateau that lasted almost a month!; all a while I’ve being steadily losing 7 lbs a month for the past three months. As of last week my body finally broke away from it without me doing anything else extra!!
So far I have lost 14 lbs since April by just walking, combined with intermittent fasting. I am not dieting, as I still have the same healthy full breakfast, lunch, and dinner as before!! my secret is consistancy; as I walk 5 miles a day everyday, and 12 miles at least once or three times a month!! my physical activity is consistant, 5 or 6 times a week every day, but I also take a day or two of rest, depending on my emotional moods, and in listening to my physical body’s response.
The combination of daily walks with intermittent fasting is my personal recipe for success!
Personally I tend to lose 1.5 lbs a week with my current walking/intermittent fasting weight loss plan. By October I hope to reach my weight loss goal; and so far my current weekly routine seems right on target. Weight loss plateau is the least of my worries!!
Really needed to hear this, been stuck at the same weight for two months after losing 30 lbs in 3 months… So frustrating, thanks for making this!
How many calories did you eat I try to aim for 1400 because it’s sustainable
I’m so happy for you You look beautiful My starting weight was the same as yours and I’m down 14 lbs but I’ve been stuck for 3 weeks
Can you give an example of what people are commonly eating that are way off? Are you referring to fast food, chain restaurants, etc?
What if you have a wild schedule and work out whenever you can? like monday is in the morning before work but tuesday I have to be at work early so I work out in the afternoon, and wednesday I go on a cool evening bike ride? just keep doing that or what?
Thank you Paul. The information in your videos is gold and you’re giving it out for free. Much obliged.
That’s true I still follow your rules I ts so helpful happy holiday Dr Becky
Ive been platue for 2 months now but only losing l inches thanks for this information
Green smooth morning
Salads for lunch
Chicken and vegetables night
Badminton twice and Gym 4times a week
I was losing weight, I was stuck at 282-284 for 3 weeks I decided to do a cleanse and I got down to 279
I’ve been IF 20/4 since may 13th 2019. I didn’t worry too much about keto, so let’s say dirty keto with deliberate carb cheats. Still lost 5 lbs a month the first 3 months. Then Aug and sept, did a total water fast for 2 weeks and then 18 days respectively, with IF in between to stabilize. I lost a total of 25 lbs now, but the 18 day fast was basically nothing lost. However, my blood work from my doctor in August was very nice! (a1c at 5.0) Now, I’m kind of discouraged that the 18 day fast didn’t take off hardly anything, but still doing the IF for 20/4 dirty keto (nuts are a downfall). Could you plz possibly put up some picts of what 75% fat might look like, i.e. how much butter or avocado, or whatever?) I know that about that 2 chicken thighs is about 60gr of protein, so that’s easy, but it’s hard to picture fat at 75% of calories. Like 6 pats of butter? i’d gag. any ideas? no sugar is no problem, i substituted the nuts, lol, and have to ween myself off of them.
Hi Paul,
What is your view on Carb Cycling (with couple days of low carbs, protein, healthy fats and fiber then a carb day, protein, fiber and healthy natural carbs) to break plateaus or maintain?
Love ALL types of your videos and info!! Thx
Should we do all these 3 tips together or try one at a time.?
I have a question. You always say that stress makes people gain weight bc of cortisol, but actually when im stressed I lose so much weight..why Is that? Also, I do not have to lose weight, is it safe to eat fats and carbs together?
Carb creep since starting my new job and holidays…but I’m not bummed my clothes still look great and I am so energized! My eating habits and nutrition have improved so much thanks to your videos. Knowledge is power.
Awesomely presented. Thank you for your help and information!
This man speaks facts, i can attest to that. Feast and fast is the way.
Will a 7 day diet on, then 7 days off bust the plateau just as good?
I like that all you need is a tweak a little change and it can have massive results
Thank you so much for this very helpful video, but also, you should consider pressing charges against that plant for sexual harassment.
I know this is an old vlog but it’s still very relevant to me. Thanks for the inspiration 2019 here I come
Yep I figured it would be the one fuckin cookie or the chip mutts f
She’s eating too often. She should try intermittent fasting…move to eating only twice a day within a 6 hour window

I’m watching everything I eat. That damn scale is bouncing between 229lbs and 232lbs. The scale is playing ping-pong with my ass. I’m thinking about getting on that underground dope. I’m just being honest. I’m fuckin done…
Oh My God I found what I was going through with plateau.. thanks Thomas
I have missed your videos!! I understand tho you need a break! I kept checking to see if I had missed you everyday great video as always
I don’t do keto but I am in IF. Does this video applying for me also, at least the first tip?
Love the info thanks, looking good doc!!!
Hello Thomas,
I always find your presentations very interesting, informative and detailed. Thank you for all of your effort. I would like to ask your opinion about 96hr fast and 48hr regular calorie intake? (fast mon fri. eat sat, sun)
Whit.
PS I am over 50 and sometimes feel very fatigued during extended fasting.
Dr. Becky, thank you for this timely information as the holidays near.
Another picture to make us fool. One is near the camara, other far to look more fat or more thin.
I have a topic you might like to address… Nicotine/smoking is causing people to become insulin resistance quickly…
Nicotine spikes glucose and then suppresses the pancreas from releasing insulin to combat the glucose… So smokers are in a constant state of HIGH BLOOD SUGAR.
Those constantly high blood sugar levels, in turn, increase the risk of serious diabetes complications such as heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, and nerve damage.
I need to lose 7 lbs to be at my goal weight and mann I’m having a hard time. Thanks for the info.
My situation is a bit different. I was eating 4000-5500 calories a day and dropping weight like crazy on IF. At some point, my body didn’t want all those calories anymore. I scaled back by about 2000 and now I am plateauing/gaining. What gives???
How do i break a fast if im vegan? What should i eat and what should i eat 2nd? Thanks in advance.
Hey I’ve lost about 60 pounds so far and am trying to lose my last 25-30 pounds been stuck for almost a year now. Have a light appetite and usually always eat under my bmr can’t help it. Help??
You didn’t cover what a plateau actually is, what I was here for. Conclusion: Downvote.
These are all so helpful. I’ve learned so much from this. Thanks so much!
@thomas DeLauer Great video!! Could you please just clearify two things.
1. How long should I do the 2 week 12:12 If and 2 week regular fasting example 18:6? Is it enough doing this for a month or for 30 weeks as the test group you mention?
2. Should I do the keto bulk at the same time as the 2 week 12:12 2 week regular fast? If yes, when should I do the Keto Bulk? During the 12:12 weeks or regular weeks?
If not just please clearify for how long time I should do both diets.
Thank you!
Last June I went on my journey. I was 231. I’m down to 156.8 I want to get to 145ish I am 5′ 1.5″. For the last few months I have been plateuinng. I has caused some depression.
So, 2 weeks of no fasting ( 12:12), eating regular
Then 2 weeks of keto and 1-2 Days of longer fasting
Then back to normal IF schedule?
I’m not sure if I understand the first two methods? I’m confused. Disabled and can’t exercise. Stall one month!
I have just started using 30g of carbs & 15g of fructose + my protein shake with salt, to brake my fast.
Q. 30g carbs is 4 rice cakes which is over my daily Macros is this still on and how should I adust my macros?
I have the exact same weight as I did a month ago, but my measurements are actually higher:( which is very disappointing. yeah, maybe I’m building muscle under the fat, but why isn’t the fat going away?? I almost cry every time I look in the mirror now. my clothes from last summer barely fit so all I wear are baggy shirts, hoodie and leggings.
Although this is a topic that has been talked about continuously, I can always learn something new coming from the way you format it.
Things I am well aware of already, but hearing you explain it solidifies that I’m on the right path
And don’t apologize for taking time off. it was for a great cause ✌
I have a question about this particular method do you typically see the weight-loss resume once you go back to your old fasting schedule or will it resume in that two weeks that you’re modifying your fast?
Once i’m on fasting i’m 47 kgs but once ate a low carb meal, it goes 50kgs. Why is that so?
Omg I saw you two or three times! Each time you were with a client or eating, so it seemed rude to interrupt. Hope you had a good show & trip!
I’ve been under eating a lot… I do daily intense cardio for and hr or longer and usually twice a day but I only eat below 1200 calories usually closer to 800 (I should be eating 1500 to 2300) and I’m scared to go out of that bc I don’t want to gain weight but ik I have to give my body a couple of days to get used to the new diet thank you for
lady I beg you I have obsessed with white teeth I’ve asked other YouTube fans how did they whiten their teeth it just didn’t seem right some wouldn’t answer can you please take time to let me know how did you get your teeth so white
Thanks Paul. I have been following you on my weight loss journey. I am now down over 100 lbs. Your information is always very valuable for me.
I’m trying to lose weight I’ve done it previously I lost 17kg quite quickly but after having a stomach issue, I put the weight back on. I was 24 at the time so I’m sure age played a part. I am now 31 and am trying. I started my weight lost journey in March and I’ve gone from 74.3kg to 65kg but now I’ve hit a plateau. I haven’t lost anything for a couple of weeks. After watching this, I don’t think I eat enough. I am on a low carb diet and I don’t eat very fatty foods. Anyone have any advice on what to do? I try and have a cheat meal every Saturday but not sure if I should change that to a day etc? Very confused. My goal is get down to 50kg but now I’m feeling very discouraged.
How can you be so beautiful and smart at the same time. Thank you so much! <3
Defintely cant do the 3rd option with my work schedule. Hope the first two help me
Please continue doing the raw cut trip videos! I love the little bit of a change.
I love your videos! You have a sweet Spirit Keep it up ❤
Great Information Thomas. I have been 16/8 to 18/6, with a weekly cheat night, and Lifting 5 days a week for seven months now and down 45 lbs. I seem to be stuck between 217 and 220 lbs for the last 1 1/2 Months. I started upping my cardio in hopes of dropping but still stuck… I will give the 12/12 for 2 weeks a try. Thank You for the great videos Bro.
I’m a new Nutritarian, following a WFPB diet. I’m finding hard to actually fit in all of the phytonutrients and foods I need while losing weight. I’ve been plateaued for 2 weeks and becoming discouraged.
You are sooo right I was on a plateau and one week I decided enough is enough! I ate 1000 cals of whole carbs and lots of protein in 6 days I lost 700 gr!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I started my weight loss journey a couple of days ago and I lost 2 kilograms in that short amount due to eating less than half of my maintenance calories (600). I am 5”3 and 128 lb and idk what was up with me but I now realize how unhealthy it was. I’m gonna restart my journey once I get back to eating a healthy amount then eating a deficit.
I was shocked when she said 1200 calories was littleXD ( i dont workout though, cuz i dont have time) cuz I am eating 1000 calories haha, but my weight has now stopped, so im considering going down even more in calories! btw loved your video, thank you so muchhh!:) (
Thank you! I was only doing 15 minute pilates workouts 3 times a week because I was focusing on my diet, trying to change it and get healthy. I hit a plateau after loosing 20 pounds and I think I need to do more cardio now. Thanks for insight!
Thank you so much I just found you because I was in a weight loss plateau you helped me more than anyone so far! Great info thank you young lady.. and when you talked about eat some carbs one day or eat some fat one day we’re almost at Thanksgiving and girl I am going to enjoy my food and have a glass of wine or two because I haven’t had any wine for like a month.. or sugar for 6-7 weeks
Does the example you gave change much between men and women?
I like informational videos (like this) much more than vlogs
Hey Racheal! What was your lowest weight ever and what was your highest ever? How long did It take to get from the highest the the lowest weight.Thnkx
Why do i feel hungry most of the time and still not losing weight? I also have my caloric deficit everyday. And consistent workouts
I’m just not hungry anymore so I end up fasting even when I’m not trying. Are you saying I need to force myself to eat?
Hey Paul, I wanted to ask you if you can spare 15 min to talk to me? I will pay you for your time of course.
I am stuck at 130, granted this is considered a “perfect weight” for my frame (small frame 5’7). However my personal goal is 125 for a more defined and cut look.
Anyways I am definitely going to try these tips. Gotta hit that goal!
You’re so on point all the time… I hope your channel keeps growing and you can reach more people. So many youtubers have no clue what they’re talking about!
This diet routine “Kοnοnοz yyd” (Google it) is completely brilliant! Next time using this guidebook and have seen a huge difference in my bodyweight! Burned 10 lbs. Within 2 weeks up to now. The facts that was offered can help improve your physique from within!
First of all, I live your channel. It provides good, dependable information that the regular person can understand. I have been on a keto diet since February. 2018 and have lost 69 lbs. Currently I am stuck. Sugar is a constant monkey on my back. I gave up bread with no problem, I do intermittent fasting, but sugar is a daily battle. Usually in fine during the day but my sweet tooth comes out at night. Do you have any suggestions for me try?
What cause back fat? I’m 52 but have weight lifted and did cardio for years. Body fat is about 23 percent. But yet I can’t get rid of back fat. Is it just aging?
This made total sense. Thank you so much! I’ve lost 18 lbs, but have 10 more to go. I’ve been losing much slower than in the beginning and now I understand.
Great video! I’ve lost 30 lbs, but can’t get the scale to move. I’ll try your suggestions and hope they will work. Thanks!
I lost 4 KG in two months, by reducing the food I eat and exercising on a daily basis, but I continue on the same system and the same workout. My weight has not decreased. I have completed 4 months and I have not seen a difference. I didnt lost more than 4 KG. What should I do?
Excellent video Great information. Feb 2018 = 240lbs. I hit a ‘plateau’ at 210lbs, another around 202lbs and am now stuck at 196lbs. When ‘stuck’ it’s easy to allow a bit of ‘creep’.
This video offers inspiration. Thank You!
I eat about 1400 calories a day and according to my fitbit only burn around 1700 so I keep myself in deficit, surely if I ate 2000 calories I would gain fat?
As for sleep, I have a toddler so he wakes frequently and that can’t be helped.
Great Advice like always! Legit. Thanks for helping.
If you read this comment, come check out my video advice and let me know what
you think! https://youtu.be/cU0qqG-stVg
I’ve been plateaued for almost a month now, cried all day because I’ve felt so defeated after 6 months being on keto, but that was until I saw this vid. Im going to give the 12-12 a shot. God I hope this helps… Keto on people
Dood this channel is sooo underrated. This is my first time experiencing comp prep, just finished my Sac NPC show and it was a great experiencing but now its been hitting me harder than ever, prepping for my next show, 10 days out and I binge ate harddd and honestly your content is keeping me motivated. So glad I ran into this channel. Keep em coming Paul:,), you make the stair master so much bearable ahah.
This is freakn’ Gold people.
Freakn’ GOLD!
This is the information I needed to know.
Now I going to bust through that invisible wall. ( plateau )
Thank you Tom.
⚪
Really awesome video. I was 196 and now I’m 164. I’m still on my journey. Btw where is your top from? It is really cute!!
I was 127, did a intermittent fast with no carb and no sugar diet, went down to 120. Changed eating habit to omad fasting for a month now bit I’m also consuming desserts. Have been plateau at 120lbs since. Could it be the carb and sugars despite the omad dieting. Goal is to get between 105-110lbs.
I lost 10.4 lbs and 16 inches, but the scale hasn’t moved in about a week. I think switching up the workouts might be the key, like you were saying. I’m working out to Insanity and watching my eating, but yeah it’s weird that the scale hasn’t budged.
🙁 This video gives me hope though.
What about also having a diet break for a whole week or even two? I’m not talking cheating, I’m talking eating at maintenance calories and maaayybe slightly above. I’ve heard that helps reset your metabolism so you can go back to a deficit afterwards, is that true?
I’ve been having a plateau for over two years. Is this normal?
I feel like i have to contribute that vlogs are boring to me and not relevant. This channel is great for to the point info, and vlogs would be unneccessary.
i’ve been stuck at 125 for a while and eating 1,185 cals a day for a month and i look leaner but it still bothers me that i’m not moving on the scale and i feel like i should bring my cals up but i’m scared lol
Love the term ‘carb creep’ think that’s what my husband and myself are suffering from. We’re going to check that out and curb those ‘creeping carbs.’ Thanks
Yeah! I aint going under 1500, im having trouble going to sleep because im so hungry
The Instagram updates are enough for me in between your YouTube videos. Thanks for the content. When I hit a plateau I eat more until the weight starts going up then I cut back again. I do the opposite when I hit a workout PB plateau I do less for a short time and then go hard and pass right by the plateau.
This is day 50 of my videos from you and I’m progressing well with practicing and practicing and implementing what you suggest (at least a few tips a month I practice). THANKS. this subject of “the last 5 pounds” is a HUGE one for soooo many people (and then… yes, keeping that last 5 pound loss OFF for longer than a month). GOOD LUCK TO US ALL!
This video was super helpful. I still have SO much to lose and it’s been 4 days I’ve been stuck on the same exact weight which is super frustrating. Going to try some of your tips!
You explained the plateau issue better than qualified doctors on YouTube, thanks for the vid.
I’m pretty small (160cm) and don’t have a physically demanding job, so my RMR is around 1600/1700 kcal. If I eat about 1400 kcal per day, that puts me just into the caloric deficit range and I’m pretty satisfied and not hungry. Are you saying that’s unhealthy and unsustainable? Or was that just a statement true for larger/more active people?

Ahhh
I’m 5ft and lost 35 lbs already
I was 111 lbs in July and then at the end of July I gained 2 lbs, with NO REASON
So I got a Plateau with weight gain –
I ate 1000 calories, but nothing works
I am still 113 lbs since July HELP
I appreciate you for talking about “non scale victories”. I’ve plateaued but my clothes definitely fit looser. I’ve never looked it that way. I was very discouraged but hearing that helped. Thank you
More raw vlogging would be awesome! Plenty of viewers wanted to see your travels last time. I loved it and others did too so please don’t stop doing them because a few don’t like them. Variety is the spice of life. Those who like the vlogs can watch them and those who don’t can watch something else. I enjoy both and watch any video on your channel. There’s something for everyone.
I’m 5’1 and honestly 100 pounds is my goal but I alwaysss get stuck around 115 so ima try this ty b you’re gorgeous
Your so pretty! And this was a great video!
As a creature of habit, I really hope I don’t plateau and have to switch up my routine
What if I’m doing IF (16:8) and losing 2lbs in a month? what am I doing wrong…?
5’6, 131lbs, low carb, muscular side…
I’ve been on a calorie deficit for about 4 weeks, it would vary day to day, between 1500-1800, when I go in to a refeed/diet break and start eating at maintain weight, would I be gaining weight or would it leave me at current weight? Trying to break this weeklong plateau I’m in.
i have reached my plateau phase. its really hard for me. I hope i am strong enough to continue this diet
Hi!
I’m 5 10 and weight around 132 lbs.
I can’t go down to 127 like I used to be! So frustrating!
What would you suggest me to do?
Thank you!!
Thanks Dr Becky…I have come to a plateau the last month. Reining it in starting today. I have stayed full keto for a year but been trying some new keto cooking recipes for the Holidays…so thinking this has me plateaued me. Blessings
I can’t say anything for keto bulking or the last suggestion but 100% can attest for the first. Take a break, 2 weeks ago I was doing 36/48 hour fasts on alternate days and going gym. Couldn’t get past a certain weight. I didn’t even know about this video. I gave up on my diet and training and I looked at my weight the other day, lower now than its ever been. You could say that it could be due to anything, whilst I won’t disagree with you I will say my weight has been lower now with taking a break than being constantly on it. From now on I will do 2 weeks on and 1 week off. Love these videos.
Thanks, I am struggling with that now, I have decided to incorparate a 24 hour intermittent fast 3 times a week with a 16 hour fast the other days, hopefully this will “jump start” cintinued weight loss.
Let’s see a vlog style to change things up! Would love to see the life of a coach when traveling
We have been able to help tens of thousands of people break through weight loss plateaux or prevent them from happening, for free.

Great content Love all kinds of videos the more knowledge the better, I say.
1. ( 2:35 ):the right mindset
2. ( 2:16 ):how much you are eatingtoo much/too less
3. ( 4:25 ): increase the intensity of workouts
4. ( 4:59 ): hormonal imbalance
5. ( 5:45 ): Zig zag your calories ( day with training=more calories, day without training= less calories)
6. ( 6:15 ): get more sleep
7. ( 8:39 ): quality food
8. ( 9:41 ): drink more water
9. ( 10:11 ): build more muscle
10. ( 11:06 ): do not give up
Hey Paul, I’m focusing on building muscle right now, I’m starting to reach that intermediate phase ( I’m 19 yrs old). Im eating slightly above maintenance, but I wanted to know if you had any suggestions of what my training routine should look like? Upper/lower split? Push pull legs? 4 day/ 5 day/ 6 day? And any accessory exercises I could do for my bench press, OHP, deadlift and squat?
