Des, it’s a good video. I would say it’s medium to moderate complexity of the diet, I understand you’re trying to check a lot of boxes with the least amount of work. I like that pasta meal but I can’t imagine washing that down with plant milk, but that’s just me. I’m literally eating a potato with BBQ sauce on it right now.
After one generally checks one’s diet I find there are not enough hours in the day when you have over 40 ingredients per day. Habits are the best thing to rely on for me. I get the daily dozen plus; I look at the list sometimes as a reminder and see if I missed anything. I make sure I get way more than the daily dozen; more like the daily 30, which has been shown to increase gut flora diversity.

Really watched through this Dr. Des. Now that’s what we can a powerful diet. It’s relatively cheap too! Would drinking loads of water balance out the high sodium intake? Cooking food in most cases especially vegetables and meat makes the nutrients more bioavailable, the loss of nutrients from cooking vegetables is minuscule, which is irrelevant because what matters is the nutrients your body actually absorbs which involves cooking your food which is a form of predigestion.

Both were trying not to laugh when he made the claim. And so was I. He and his wife both have fake, online degrees from a school in Europe. So that means neither of them worked for the PhD’s. They just purchased them online.

Dr. Garth Davis hit the nail on the head when he said it’s not so important whether you eat Oatmeal or some ancient grain or whether it’s organic, has GMO’s or not. He said he just wants his patients to stop eating the crap. And that’s it really. It’s more about stopping the eating of what our bodies don’t handle well. For me, it is meat and dairy and processed sweets. I have taken BP meds for over 10 years and when I gave up those “foods” it came down to 121/78 within one week and has stayed there.

You’re now pushing this vegan agenda for refined high carb, high glycemic loading grains and extra sweet fruits. More diabetes, more heart disease. These people don’t know what they’re talking about. Organic food has less micronutrients and destroys soil. Conventional is often low tillage and preserves soil.
Check oats for glycophates as used in Monsanto products, ugh and hospitals use frozen vegetables. I’ve had healthy creative meals in a hospital.

just a little tip: leave your oats in water overnight, this helps to neutralize the phytic acid in them, making it easier to digest. in the morning just turn the heat on!

We are not vegan, but we limit our meat, by eating 80% veggies and fruits,with very few grains (which I sprout them myself and even make fresh flour out of them to use for pita bread).My kids fight over salads and raw veggies like broccoli, peppers, celery,carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers and so on!!They eat lettuce,kale,spinach, dill,parsley out of my friend’s garden.They also enjoy soups and stews. Also,I agree about frozen veggies and fruits. Many times I buy organic fruits from Costco and dehydrate them.My kids will call these dry fruits chips,as they are the only chips they eat.

I will not eat any conventional food on the “dirty” lists. I’d rather go without than to eat carcinogens on my food. Why would you go through the process of a WFPB diet and risk getting chemical induced cancer? There are unconfirmed stories that potato farmers will not eat the conventional potatoes they farm. They have a separate plot for potatoes for their own family without the pesticides. On the burrito bowl, if you buy some fresh jalapeños (always very, very cheap) take out the seeds and finely dice them, along with cilantro (also very inexpensive), that burrito bowl would be taken to another level for pennies more!! Organic and vegetarian are extremely expensive, I can’t do it. It is so much cheaper for me to just eat rice and chicken and frozen bag of regular vegetablesthe cost ratio is about 4 to 1, $1 dollar of my chicken meal would cost me about $ 4 dollars if organic.

Hello! First off, I want to thank you two for making this video. I’m sure you well know when people decide to become vegan that it’s a little overwhelming after eating a certain way your entire life. My wife and I just fully retired last year. Things are great! We’re sleeping in, traveling, volunteering, and just doing what we want to do in general, but health wise we haven’t been eating right. My wife has cooked a few meals so far with veggies and rice, but we’re always going to be on the lookout for new recipes. Me personally, I loved this video! You guys present it well, and keep it simple. I just did the breakfast meal, and we both loved it. Anyway, thank you for helping our transition into the vegan world. BTW, your baby is a cutie!!!
Need to make sure that if purchasing canned veggies, the can MUST BE BPA FREE!!! Otherwise you are just ingesting CHEMICALS and it defeats everything you are doing to be HEALTHY.
a friend of mine had high cholesterol despite eating 3 fruits and 2 servings of veggies a day and running 3 x per week. he started taking oatmeal 4 to 5 bowls a week and his cholesterol dropped from 260 to 205.
So why promote organics if all science tests doesn’t prove anything bad or good for your healthy?

The pc junk about organic ruins it. They should just say what is best. Then, say what is second best. Beating around the bush helps no one.
I can get oatmeal by walking to the local grocery store which has it at a price that fits our family’s budget. To get teff, I’d have to drive several miles through four cities to a nutrition market where everything doesn’t fit our budget. Online is also too high-price of an option, especially at a risk of receiving a quality compromised product. Organic may be healthier but it’s pricier.

My friend worked in a whole food store said the organic fruits like strawberries ECT they were told to clean them with a baby wipe type cloth then they were put into containers so don’t waist your money on something that cannot be avoided weather your rich or poor grow some of these yourselves the way God intended thanks to these souls for caring to tell you the truth pray over your food God will remove it if you believe

SOME organic stuff is bull shit too. Don’t trust any juices in a container. Make your own. The BoltHOUSE ‘organic’, it is really NON organic, the last time i bought it i could taste a chemical in it ( probably bleach) so i took both bottles back to wal mart. Never again will i buy soymilk, carrot juice or any thing in a container. I make my own shit. Totally delicious too. I make almond milk with black grapes, and grind it all up. Yummy! I don’t even filter it i just drink it with all the pulp.

This process of changing over a diet takes time. There is no doubt as to the damage chemicals do to an environment, and we are part of the environment not to mention all wildlife that is also stuck in our sick system. I have been around some of the world’s leading mammal research scientists and every whale in the ocean can be biopsy and we will find chemicals stored in their fat. In fact, the Orcas known in the Puget Sound as Resident Orcas J,K,L pods primary, eat only salmon. (people don’t realize even whales are smart enough to share the sea ad many pods specialize in diets, no all eat seals, those are transient pods. There is a pod near austraila that only eat rays) The J,K,L pods are the most studied and known pods on the planet. The are so sick because of stored crap in their fat that when food sources are low and they start to live off their own fat they die. Enough said, what do you think is happening with us?

Good on you pam poppa….those people are making very VERY good incomes in many cases….most of us cant regularly afford to eat much in the way of organics…here in australua i was eating unspraued potatpes…organic kale…i follow Esselstyn so was eating y handfulz a day of cooked kale…thatz 1.5 bunches a day….the poratoez alone cost me an extra $35 pw….kale..$3.50 per bunch….my grocery bill going upto $280 pw sometimes…thats alot of money for a retired couple with 3 eating wfpb…i could only afford to biy organic kale for me…selfish..better to buy more nonorganic so all of us caN eat it etc etc….thx for being the only sane voice there re organics….as my friend says….thats a champagne..or first world problem …in meantime those talks distract people from the fact there house is burning down drom eating the REAL prob foods..bacon etc
Organic is free from glyphosate/round up. It is even sprayed on legumes and potatoes to help dry them out faster. Glyphosate will eat away at our intestines to cause malnutrition and therefore disease due to leaky gut.

What sort of bothers me about this is that Dr. Clement seems to be saying “Quinoa, teff, amaranth, etc. are superior to oats and wheat” and the other doctors seem to be saying “Yeah, but that’s not really practical advice for most people.” Here’s the thing; it really doesn’t matter. ALL whole grains are good for you. Trying to figure out which are superior to others is uselessly wandering into the weeds. If you can show me a study that proves that quinoa and teff will help me live longer than brown rice, corn, and oats I’ll make sure to make the switch. Otherwise, I’ll just eat what I like, which, BTW, is ALL of the above named.
Instead of saying eat organic, wheres the work to just stop farming with GMOs and pesticides. If certain foods are killing us, instead of saying avoid, why aren’t they banned?
Theres 2 issues here, the food and what we add or do to food. Take an egg, source of protein and essential vitamins, or heart attack? Battery confined, antibiotic riddled, vs free range vs vegan. It seems the more I hear the less I believe in what “experts” say.
There’s no talk about the negative impact of lectins(contained in grains) on our gut lining and the vast problems which can be associated with leaky gut once lectins have ruptured the tight junctions of our gut lining allowing shit particles into our bodies creating a host of issues (cardiovascular disease to arthritis etc)
I do not eat vegan but I did eat vegetarian for a good while in these recipes became my staple! And I still enjoy them they’re so warm so comforting is so delicious it doesn’t matter what season. Can’t wait to see what’s next. Thanks!

I prefer to make oats with plant milk like soy for extra flavour and protein. ❤ plus oats with plant milk end up very creamy
