How to Do King Dancer Pose (Natarajasana) in Yoga Benefits. King Dancer Pose strengthens the legs, improves balance and core strength, and stretches the shoulders. Step-by-Step Instructions.
Begin by standing tall in Mountain Pose ( Tadasana) with your weight equally distributed in Common.Steps to do a perfect King Dancer Pose Begin this pose by standing in Tadasana or Mountain Pose with your arms at your sides and feet together. While shifting your body weight onto your left foot, bend your right knee and bring your right heel toward your right hip. Bring your right hand down and clasp with your right foot’s inner ankle.
King Dancer is an intermediate, standing yoga pose that combines the challenging aspects of balancing with a backbend. There are two variations commonly practiced. The first requires holding the lifted leg with one hand, while the second is an advanced pose that requires holding the raised foot with both hands overhead.To deepen the pose, you could catch the inner part of your left foot with your right hand swept behind your back. Grab the outer edge of your left foot with your right hand.
This is a more challenging stance and will increase your ability to balance better.Compare this to Natarajasana. In Natarajasana, your entire base consists of your standing foot. That’s all.
In addition, you’re standing upright so your center of gravity is much higher. Pigeon is short and squat, Natarajasana is long and narrow..
