i know im late, but if the inlet feed has multiple species(ie: air contains co2 and other), is it still the same calculation for Q? do i need to consider other stuff as well?

Hate to play devil’s advocate here, but Gary Taubes (“Good Calories, Bad Calories”) would have something to say about this conventional calorie in/out model. In short, a calorie of salad is not the same as a calorie of sugar. Body composition is not calorie in/out it’s (estimated) 80% diet (WHAT you eat, not HOW MUCH) and only 20% exercise. For 6 months, I ate huge amounts of fat and protein and cut out carbohydrates mostly. I exercised very moderately and did not count any calories whatsoever. Went down from 88 kg to 74kg and a blood test showed that HDL cholesterol was raised and LDL low. I’m a case study that the lowcarb model works and this video is the antithesis of that.

To burn a 20ounce Coke (with 16 tablespoons of added sugar) you’d need to run for 50 minutes or walk 5 miles. Also, all calories are not the same. Processed sugar spikes insulin which converts energy to fat. High fiber, high calorie foods such as nuts release energy slowly and also give people a feeling of fullness leading them to eat less. Sugary drinks have the opposite effect: they make you more hungry and offer no nutritional value. They also cause insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and diabetes.
