How to Add Phenolic Acids to Your Diet Method 1 of 3: Choosing Foods, Drinks, and Supplements. Eat lots of fruit. One of the richest sources of phenolic acid Method 2 of 3: Seasoning with Phenolic Acids. Add some spice to dishes. Spices are an especially high source of phenolic Method 3 of.
Phenolic acids are abundant in a balanced diet. You should get plenty of them as long as you consume adequate amounts of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. As vegetables are consumed in higher quantities compared to the fruits, they may significantly contribute to a higher intake of phenolic acids through daily diet. Vegetables contain phenolic acids in variable amounts depending on their maturity, exposure to biotic and abiotic stress, and varietal variation. Phenolic acids are found in more quantity in the flower, root, leafy, and stem vegetables than fruit.
Adding nuts can increase the number of polyphenols in your diet and help improve your heart health. However nuts and seeds have high levels of phytic acid, which is also an anti-nutrient. Consuming high amount of phytic acid contributes to a number of health-related issues, including gastrointestinal upset and mineral deficiency.
Phenolic acids are among the chemical constituents restricted in this diet, which avoids some but not all of these structurally similar compounds. The present study aimed to: (i) develop a novel diet low in phenolic acids; (ii) implement this in a small clinical trial; and (iii) assess its nutritional adequacy.A high intake of phenolic acids, including hydroxybenzoic and hydroxycinnamic acids is linked to a healthy diet, with the latter being found in fruits, vegetables, cereal grains and coffee.Phenolic acids are secondary metabolites in plants. Animals and humans cannot synthesize these compounds and, thus, can only be obtained through foods.
Fruits, vegetables, beans and cereals are good sources of phenolic acids (Sylvester & Navam, 1992.Phenolic Acids: Classification, Occurrence, and Bioavailability. PAs are aromatic carboxylic acids naturally appearing in the plant kingdom. The term phenolic acid describes a phenol ring that possesses at least one carboxylic acid functionality.
However, in case of plant metabolites, these refer to a distinct group of organic acids which.Another study showed that the uptake of phenolic acids was 2-to-3-fold higher from bread with fermented bran, than from control bread with untreated bran. Nordlund et al. (2012) studied the phenolic acid metabolites resulted after in vitro gut fermentation of rye and wheat bran and aleurone fractions. The study implied the comparison between samples with and without an in vitro.
You can sip on numerous beverages to boost phenol intake. Reach for cider, coffee, soy milk, regular milk, cocoa, red wine, black and green teas, and orange and grapefruit juices. For the highest phenol content, fill your cup with coffee and green tea.
Any beverage made from other sources of phenols mentioned will make for a good beverage choice. Some phenols are concentrated in the skin and the seeds of some foods. Roasted nuts, juices, and dehydrated foods can cause a phenolic response.
It is best to go for raw alternatives. Yeast-based foods such as bananas can cause a negative, but different reaction.Foods are typically viewed as high-, mediumand low-phenol foods. Again, the three types of phenols naturally found in the foods we eat are salicylates, amines and glutamates.
Salicylates are found in plant foods only and can cause many different symptoms.Natural antioxidants present in the diet increase the resistance toward oxidative damages and they may have a substantial impact on human health. Dietary antioxidants such as ascorbates, tocopherols and Oregano Rosmarinic acid, phenolic acids, flavonoids Yanishlieva-Maslarova et al. (2001) Exarchou et al. (2002), and Belhattab et al. (2004).

Another helpful video! I’ve just noticed my hairline is receding a bit. I will soon be 52. I’ve also just realized, I did have irritation in that area. Good thing, I have the suggested hair supplement. I haven’t really committed to taking it, but I will now start on that tomorrow!
I’ve mostly been a rather mellow person, but in the past 3 years, I’ve felt it’s harder to focus, mainly at work. The Magnolia Rhodiola Complex quickly helped me! It’s so great! I felt a difference in the 2nd day. So, this will be another shopping list video. Thank you both, so much!
What in the world is the name of the herb that is good for fertility according to him???? I really couldnt understand what its called:( Help me pls
Thank you for the lecture. Could you please address us to some references?
Cannabis has 483 phytochemical identified also known as Hemp aka Marijuana 2020 still not available in Texas
I love your videos! I really miss a lot of the dialogue between you two. Please consider using a lapel mic so we don’t miss any of the very valuable info your so graciously sharing with us! Thank you!
Nice movie. However, you can learn about diet much more. Just google for ‘WooPep’.
Thanks for the lecture. I’m doing some research on this matter to get the effects of phytochemicals clear for myself and others. One question though. if i go to the 5aday website i cant open the site. Is there another website for me who has the same kind of information that also is certified by experts and/or a big organisation? Kind Regards, Kevin
Love to Shabir & gill xxxI love their news letter & articles posted on their site thank u trinny for having them on ur channel xx
Do you by any chance have video for Specialized products from amino acids. Thank you for making those amazing videos
Do not eat greens folks. High in palates, anti nutrients, toxins. Causes me kidney stones amongst other things.
Shame such terrible sound quality could’nt really hear much of what he was saying.
Lots of burdock root here in Japan. Gobo. Superb in a salad. One salad is served with olives. Another is in a creamy dressing made from soy.
I take balence of nature 31 servings of fruits and vegtables
If i skip my eczema comes back
Trinny you surpassed yourself!! What a fabulous informative upload Bless you & your guests . Xxx
Thank you so much for a terrific vlog..what a superman and with so much knowledge and responded so well to all the questions. And to hear one of your listeners saying she used Hyaluronic acid for dry eye was amazing since I’ve been suffering with it for a while.
I’m interested to know Mr Daya’s views in biotin. As far as I know, there’s no evidence that it helps to stimulate hair growth. Is this true? Also, what does he think about minoxidil for women? I don’t want to sprout a beard! I’m 54 and have been in my menopause for a few years now. I’ve not tried HRT and would rather not start. I don’t get hot flushes, but I’ve noticed my cognitive function is not as sharp as it was, and I now need reading glasses (which is annoying). I’ve had a lot of stress as I moved to Germany with my husband who was a surgeon and GP, but he had many problems with drug addiction and died a few years ago. I have four children (one teenage daughter still at school), but he left me with huge debts and I’ve been struggling to make ends meet ever since. My parents and family are not interested in me, my children or my problems (even though they have a lot of money and are fit for their ages). All this has taken its toll on my health and sense of wellbeing. My hair is incredibly thin now, I’ve put on a lot of weight through comfort eating, I sit at a desk all day in my job, and am afraid of trying a new relationship. I often don’t want to see people. I get depressed with the thought of ending up alone when my daughter leaves and I can’t sleep. I don’t smoke and only drink the occasional glass of red wine with dinner. I feel that I need some kind of boost to lift my spirits and make my hair look healthy again (its thinness also makes me want to avoid being seen…). I also need to be able sleep well. I’m afraid of taking an overdose of vitamins and minerals; some supplements also contain many or some of the vitamins/minerals as others. I just started taking Priorin capsules today, and I’ve been taking omega 3 capsules for six weeks. I would appreciate your kind advice. Sorry for the essay and all the personal stuff I just thought some background might be useful. I love Trinny’s channel. I used to watch “What not to wear” and still dream of style advice from Trinny for my apple shape. I was a beanpole until I hit forty-two, then BOOM my life came crashing down and my body and peace of mind went gaga I’m a Londoner (born and raised) and have been living in Germany for a long time.
Outstanding!! What a wealth of knowledge we were just exposed to. Thank you, now I need to rewatch a few times to really soak it all in. It is never to late, I just turned 60 and am determined to do my best to right all my wrongs.
Love love love the info but please please stop doing bathroom interviews and consider a different set up just so distracting /cringeworthy for your amazing guests. I love your bathroom vlogs but they don’t work for interviews.. I play them through a speaker as I just can’t watch
@trinny is amazing, but please please please….get your audio and set up sorted! Content is so high end you are in your own league. Just give up on the reason you gave that “I’m not a youtuber” we want to hear what people are saying… Including guests sitting in the bathtub:-))
Our digestive systems are not any more similar to a carnivore than to a sheep. You can’t just say stuff Dr. A lion’s digestive system, for example, is very simple compared to that of a human being. It’s much shorter, and much quicker due to a much stronger stomach acid… and they can sleep for several days after eating. Do we fit in there either? No, we have a very long digestive tract with more components, weaker stomach acid, and we need to make many more enzymes to process our food. And the jaw of a carnivore cannot move side to side like a human being… the jaw of a herbivore can, however. Also, a lion has about 470 taste buds, whereas humans have over 10,000… including buds that can detect the sweetness of a food. A lion cannot taste something sweet. I’m not claiming to have all the answers about what we should eat, but I’m not blindly trying to dismiss valid evidence either. Respectfully.
I’m not in favour of this guy pushing endless supps that HE sells on HIS site!! Come on Trinny you’re smart!! I’d like some neutral knowledge I couldn’t possibly trust someone like this guy. Check out Dr Dray!
Trinny that’s what I need! I was sitting with pen and did notes! Love it!!!!!
Lots of love,
Rosie

Just excellent, Trinny will you continue with collagen peptides after learning about alternative supplements? Xx
Fantastic information…. thank you to you and your guests x x xx
Thank you for very interesting post. I appreciate this not-so-often covered topic on beauty channel on youtube. However, i think there is a word ‘menopause’ in Japan…. I thought ‘Konenki’ or ‘Konenki-shogai’ would be the equivalent word. I could be wrong though….
IT WOULD BE SO NICE IF YOU Trinnu WOULD STOP! INTERRUPTING while someone ELSE IS TALKING
If you suffer hard dry constipation, cheese unfortunately can cause this. Keep salt intake up and ditch the cheese.
This is my favourite video to date! So informative, so understandable, what a lovely man. Thanks to you both for this brilliant video ❤️
Wow I’m going to have to watch this several times over! Amazingly informative thank you so much
Hi Trinny. Fantastic video. Learned so much. What a brilliant man Mr. Shabir and so humble! Can’t wait to see more of him. Thank you for sharing him with us.❤

What was taht g-word for acid reflux?cant find it anywhere or j?
Love him!! Trinny, when you take a plane you cant do anything about the air but you can clean your area. Even if you’re not a germaphobe like me, you should wipe down your area with strong disinfecting wipes……flu season very bad this year. i wipe anything I’m going to touch…….seat, (esp head rest) food tray, seat controls, armrests, entertainment buttons; safety belt, even the wall if I have a window seat. I never touch magazines in the pocket, eww. I even wipe down stuff in my hotel rooms like remote control and lights/ac, curtain pulls, whatever. I’m not talking about face wipes. I’m talking anti-bac. I NEVER leave home without them.
Awesome video:) Victoria health is where I buy my supplements and more too:* I only take vit D and omega 3 n 6 aha daily so am glad am doing at least that right:) I am def adding superior hair and that tonic tho sounds like something I need as my hair are not what they used to be (am43) Thank you xo
Nice presentation but really a decade too late if not 20 years. And the constant reference to science is because the damned audience is studied stupidity, medicos. And the sad part this lecture 20 years from now with 50 years of research will still be met with doctor arrogance and opposition. I have come to view doctors in the same negative light as lawyers.
Excellent thoroughly enjoyed this very informative and intelligent charming man
Eczema that has at its root, atopic dermatitis, IS an autoimmune condition.
Vitamin K protects the heart by reducing the hardening of the coronary arteries. It is not a blood thinning vitamin. It helps to promote clotting factors with acute injuries to stop bleeding. Perhaps an adult medicine doctor can be interviewed, with specific data frtom cited research to answer your questions
Amazing so informative and in such an easy to grasp manner absolutely love this video cannot wait to see shabir back on your channel
What do you recommend as a diet for some one who is type 2 diagnosed for 10 year, on glicozide, and has no gall bladder, and anaemia (thalassemia beta)?
Wow! Thank you so much for introducing us to this incredibly knowledgeable man! This has been so informative and would love another video to continue this conversation. It’s really difficult to know which ones to take and what actually works out there without spending a small fortune! x
Wow Trinny this is so incredible! Thank you SO very much for this video! Thank you both!!!!!
Everyone must see this video. It will save thousands of life and reduce serval people from dying from cancer and disease
Very informative, thank you thank you. You must get them back
Wonderful, thank you for the video Trinny + Victoria Health.. their website is a fantastic source of education too!
Well done and presented with a lot of great info. You should post some of this on reddit.com/r/keto, they would love to see this kind of information and it is a great community.
Do you have a schedule posted online of upcoming lectures?
Why are you recording in your bathroom? Who has an hour long conversation with a doctor in the bathroom with a woman in a bathtub? I was interested in the talk but I couldn’t get over the ridiculous setting.
Here is the ultimate irony to all the vegans: a herbavore like a cow or a gorilla eats large amonts of fiber which is turned primarily into fat by microbes in their digestive tract as the creature’s main source of energy. So herbavores live on fat!
This was great information. Such a knowledgeable asset he is is Victoria Health available in the US?
What a great video, thanks for doing it for us. Lovely guest. ⭐️
I really like You Trinny but for G sake: DROP THAT BL…. BATHROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially with guests like this one!!!!!!!!!!!
Trinny, you are such a beautiful person, inside and out! Thank you for bringing on these wonderful people to educate us on these important areas of our lives. Thank you both!
Vitamins and supplements are a waste of time. It has been scientifically proven that you don’t absorb the vitamins and it becomes an expensive pee.
Tranny thank you so much for helping all of us with this. I’ve learned so much!!
Why not film in another room so that woman didn’t have to lay in the bath.
Fabulous Wonderful Fascinating
Thank you so much for this informative hour.

I have a question, if benzoate removes glycine so that the cells compensate for it by creating it from NH4, this newly formed glycine will eventually turn into NH4 and the cycle will keep repeating. So how is this helping exactly? I’m a little confused it seems like a dead end loop.
More than great vid Trinny. What a lovely man. I am not one for supplements but he made total sense to me.
Thank you so so much Trinny. The most informative video I have seen in a long time. Kay
Absolutely loved this, would have been nice to see Gill as she does such wonderful news letters for VH. x
