I like to think I dont do cheat days have the odd sleep….. cheat day to me is…. I keep a 18pack of eggs in the fridge and on wednesdays I use a few with my breakfast the other 6 days a week I got cartons of egg whites on hand

As long as you’re counting your Macros you can fit that type of stuff in. Like c u e some high calorie foods during the day because you have no choice or stuff with high sugar. As long as you’re counting your Macros and you fit that in. And just watch the rest of the day what you put in your body. You’ll be just fine. Say for instance my maintenance calories is 2500. And if by afternoon I’m out a thousand calories. okay so you just fit that in and monitor your calorie so you don’t go over your maintenance level and you can still burn weight. people get so stuck on this I can’t have this and I can’t have that because it’s going to ruin this it’s going to ruin that. As long as you’re counting your Macros and you don’t go over you can fit that type of stuff in. Is just ridiculous. Like say by the time I get off of work I’m at 1500 calories am I fat is still low. And my maintenance level is 2500 so I fit in a cheeseburger which is 600 I’m still going to be under my maintenance level. You can still enjoy life just watch your Macros

Great video, Mario (as always). I noticed that once I switched into systems thinking and process mode, my cutting became sooo much easier. Thinking about past failures, worrying about future results, and all the shame and guilt associated with binge eating all dissapeared. Only the task in front of me and the next iteration were what I had to focus on. That has honestly changed my life in the past month and is something I want to continue to implement on all other things in my life as well.
I cheat every weekend..lol. Just make a day to eat what you want (don’t go overboard) and go back to your diet the next day. As long as you go back to it..You’re fine. You’re not going to lose your gains unless you just said fuck it and eat everything and get lazier.
Lost 38kg but it was first when a lost 8-10 kg that i started to have cheatday every month it never harm me i stil lost bodyfat and weight. one time when i eas sick for 8days or 9day i eated like a cow lol lost 1,7kg started whit workout and be in cal dificit. but ya it depent on the person.

A few times I cheated on my diet. One time I was at a fast food restaurant, Taco Bell. What I had was 5 loaded beefy nacho grillers and a steak and cheese quesadilla plus a fountain drink. By the time my mom saw the receipt, I was in deep trouble.
I was doing so so well on my diet and I could see the difference in my body. Then I gave in and ate an Xl donna kabab plus the rest of my partners wich probably added up to 3500-4000 calories just in one sitting. I feel so so shit that all I want to do is just drink water for days until I can lose the weight again.

I can eat cheat meals ( chocolate bar) and still be in a caloric deficit on a 2400 Kcal a day with 3 times cardio / week and i can fill in that 200grams of protein too. It’s so more enjoying when you can eat all your proteins, fats, carbs and still needing some extra to not lose muscle, you just need to find the right foods. I have a question Greg, is there a difference if you eat clean in a caloric deficit or if you eat all day clean and then add a chocolate bar in order to satisfy your caloric needs?

Hey Greg; PLEASE READ!! I’m doing really well trimming my body fat off… Using a caloric intake of 1500 cal per day ( I stand on my feet 8-9 hrs per day and do moderate lifting during work ) So I’d say I’m at 2000-2200 cal BMR so that’s

Ephedrine and Synephrine is the best way to stop cheating on your diet, it makes you full for 4,5 hours, 75mg synephrine and 20 30mg ephedrine, and even 7 hours after it will make me full just eating a super small bowl of oats with oats/almond milk and proteinpowder haha

For me it depends on whether I’m bulking or cutting. Option 1 is better for cutting since calories are the priority and I’m ok with macros taking a hit since I’m not growing. The reverse when I’m bulking so option 2 is better.

One thing I’m surprised you didn’t mention-and perhaps you think it irrelevant-is BMR. Let’s say you over do it, then try to make up for it the next day. If the amount of reduction to compensate takes you below BMR, isn’t it best to just eat BMR, and chalk the rest up as a loss (or gain, rather)? When I over eat I just get back on my diet. And I never eat at or below BMR, personally. I’m just asking.

My problem isn’t food really. But I’m a heavy drinker. Beer, wine, Scotch etc. So, I do fairly good during the week but when weekend comes I cant really control myself.
Unless I’ve planned to eat something then it’s not an option. Free food isn’t even considered. I don’t even check the calories, I just skip it. It’s easier than leaving 1% possibility.

What I found out that work well for me is to creat a buffer of calories (let’s say 1000 kCal) during “better”days, and then when shooting over my daily aim happens, I feel very comfortable with it, and I do not feel “guilty” for doing it (of course it’s totally f…ed up to feel “guilty”, but that’s whole another topic:) )

My daughter just had a birthday and guess where the cake ended up…on my kitchen counter for a whole weekend where I proceeded to have a piece every time I had a coffee. I drink a lot of coffee. The way I reset after that is by doing a 24 hour fast. Strangely enough though, this morning when I woke up to start my fast I looked better than I have in a few months, despite having about 3000 calories in birthday cake over the weekend. Anyway, I always just try to maintain a balance. If I have a bad day(or two) I make up for it the next day and it balances out over time.

A lot of problems are psychological. I know a lot of people that actually have eating disorders and don’t even realize. I used to have ED and was in denial. I regulated my relationship with food and could recover from slip ups a lot more easier. Cheers, great content and topic.

Hmm, so what about instead of counting my daily caloric intake, what about counting my weekly caloric intake? And moderate on what days I eat more (going out) etc, and then the days where I don’t need that many I’ll just go less
i just cheated using a box of ferrera rochers and toasted nutella sandwhiches. so my sins equate to about 1300 calories. it felt amazing at the time but now i feel like crap XD it sucks because my cut was going so well lol as usual the advice here really helps thanks sean:)

I cheated on my diet after going strong for 30 days and losing 14.1kg
I hate the trend of calling everything “protein”. protein bar, protein shake, protein cookies, etc. Then when you look at the nutrition facts, its like 6g of protein for 200 calories.
I know this is an old video, but any thoughts on how much of that cheat day you’re actually absorbing? My chinese buffet cheats are rare but so far over the top they’re probably at least 5000 thousand calories AND THEN I’ll get home and smash more junk. Am I automatically in the hole 10,000 calories or is some of that just shat out?

Normally have cheat meal on Friday but go pree crazy unfortunately cas I also smoke pot and its hard to stop… to combat it I’ll do fasted cardio next day aka not really fasted cas binged from last night and not even hungry… after that I’ll eat normal meal and do efedra and go to gym after and get giant pump… the cardio plus efedra seem to do the job never really get fat even after like a 3k cheat… Greg any opinions on this protocol?

Well I got to confess, the past 2 weeks been eating clean been getting 1000 to 1500 of calories since I want to cut and my body was kinda there with visible 2 pack, but today my dad bought some pineapple donuts couldn’t resist so I ate 3 of them with regular milk, then got an ice cream sandwich, and a whole bag of doritos so in total was 1700 calories I feel bad but is it going to affect my diet?I usually just eat some oatmeal and some tuna wraps I still exercise 5 times a week sometimes 6. Hey Sean, I’m pretty damn lean right now but not as much as i would like to (a.k.a shredded). Tried lowering my calories even more for the past 8 days but apparently that triggered my hunger and the last 3 days I screw up and ate roughly 3500 cals but only from carbs, pretty much a 3 day refeed. Should I lower my calories for the following days or go back to were I was before all this? Much love and support from Argentina!
Vince Gironda recommended a small carb meal every 4th day, not enough to bloat you; just enough to replenish minimal glycogen stores and stimulate the metabolism. 1 hashbrown patty would suffice. If you eat till bloated it damages the metabolism and slows progress.

It’s the sugar addiction…worse than Heroine. Cut all sugars/carbs for a week and see what happens. I ended up at the emergency room with withdrawals. Must be gradual. Baby steps.

Started a new diet only and fitness regime a week ago then my girlfriend’s gran was rushed into hospital last night, found myself munching on a whole pack of cookies and 3 bags of Doritos in the space of an hour waiting on news at 5am. Feel terrible and exhausted today, so this is exactly what I needed to hear.

Good tip for cheat meals is to plan and buy it in early. Cos then your brain can look forward to it rather then getting to the day and choosing somthing crazy.

I would have thought you should mention how many cals can someone take in on a 24 hour period. One huge cheat meal will not gain the same fat as 3 smaller cheat meals. Its important to understand how much is wasted.

It helps when I cheat to stop about halfway through and wait 30 minutes by watching tv or taking a bath, then see if I want more cheat food. I usually don’t, and it’s helped with damage control.

Just went on a three day binge full of Easter candy lmao I stupidly stepped on the scale and saw an 8 lb increase. Needless to say a lot of salad and chicken breast is in store for me in the next couple days

…for me there is no cheatday or cheatmeal…just fun-day or a fun-meal…cheat is sooo negative that you feel gulty after that meal…i do it once every 10 days and i feel great

Great vid except I would say that any fat in the cheat, would be quickly stored as bf. There is a big difference between a say 1000 Cal or more cheat that has up to 20 grams of fat, and one that has 50. Any protein may go to build some muscle (within reason), the Carbs will all go to the muscles and liver thus stopping fat burning, and every single gram is going to be shuttled into adipose tissue at a +90% efficiency ratio because the body is extremely good at storing ingested fats. And don’t cheat on carbs above the threshold that you are deficient in storage capacity. In other words, if completely carb depleted, eating more than 400 to 600 Calories will then begin lipogenisis (carb to fat conversion.)
My take: no cheat, just calculated refeeds with smart, but yummy food sources…no fatty dairy, fatty meats, fatty pastry, ect. A knarly spaghetti dinner with a meatless sauce and a restaurant grilled chicken breast on the side with frozen yogurt on the way home with your honey is much better than a burger, fries, and a shake or a 16″ pizza.
