I see it and I can’t believe it, a gluten free dough that does not break? How?? I’ve even done chuño(tapioca gum basically) to help my mother so the dough has some elasticity and it’s always a mess and the dough nevertheless cracks and ugh. I have wanted to do some gyozas for the longest time to show her how it tastes and I think this might work!
We always order that way at Chinese places. Honestly they are owned by Chinese people we know so it’s like standard.
Thanks for sharing Love your recipes
Would you consider putting the recipe in the description
I am so incredibly excited to make these! I’ve been hunting for a good pot sticker wrapper recipe and those fillings look AMAZING!
Thank you so much for making this video! I am moving to China in a few months for a volunteering gap year and have been really worried about how I was going to be able to eat! One thing that is worrying me though is how not to appear rude at dinners hosted by the staff at the school I’ll be working at (I hear these are quite common) Do you have any advise for that?
Is it possible to boil the wontons instead if you don’t have a steamer?
Recipe working link:

Oh really easy sauce is actually if your raw vegan and gluten-free you can have coconut aminos coconut aminos is like a teriyaki sauce but it’s gluten free and vegan and even raw vegan they also have a vinegar and a sweet syrup that’s so thick for like pancakes if you make breakfast ever
The same in the Czech Republic: they feed all locals the universal brownish same-testing sauces while hiding their delicious real Chinese gems.
you look like a girl version of me. lol! anyways, this was such a helpful video. thank you! literally going to do this tomorrow when i go get some groceries:)
What can i replace mushrooms with?? And thank u so much for this
Thanks for this recipe I have already tried it out. I had to ad more water the 2/3 was nowhere near enough. also I cooked them instead of steaming than fried them. Can I keep the dough in the fridge for next day if I wrap them in to gladwrap? Anyway I did that will fined out tomorrow
This video is actually very misleading to people because it is making people think that every Chinese restaurant has those dishes. Plus Moon Star is not your TYPICAL CHINESE TAKEOUT OR BUFFET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is sit down and dine in restaurant that serves authentic Chinese food and American Chinese food.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU IM GOING TO TRY TO MAKE THESE TODAY!!
You did awesome girl!
I will be trying it soon.
Many thanks
Made gluten free version & perogies, my boys went crazy for it. Made the filling with potatoes & vegan grounds. Easy & quick!
thank you, thank you thank you, so happy to see this because i love eating them and cant eat wheat, yay
Complete respect but you would be perfect as Louise in a live action version of Bob`s Burgers!
This works at Thai restaurants too, my friend always orders from the normal menu but asks for it ‘Thai style’. Needs to be a real Thai restaurant though, won’t work if the chef isn’t Thai…
Do you have GMO’s to look out for such as veggies, grains, or fruits in Australia??..as we do in the Unites States…HORRORS every DAY they are adding new GMO’s such as Okra, Yucca to the list… You should probably have 1.000.000 Subscribers> You are that good!
Thank you for giving people a gluten free option to enjoy dumplings and wontons!!!
I was looking for recipes like this because I love cooking for my mom and she can’t eat a lot of things due to health problems, this solved that thank you so much
Finally doing my dumplings! Thanks for the incredible recipe✌︎
This video has gained all new relevancy after Coronavirus and Batgate.
Just made this for my boyfriend, they were delicious. Thanks a lot for this recipe. Greetings from Italy!!:)
I was wondering whats the diameter of the round cookie cutter you used?
It turned out so delicious.. Thanks for the video.❤ But how much should be the quantity of white rice flour and tapioca starch?
What a silly blouse to wear for a cooking show and no hairnet
Finally something I could eat. Too bd I can’t cook I love asian cousine but I’m alergic to milk and gluten. I will try this one and miserably fail. Thank you ❤️
Sorry if that is the 50th time that someone makes the comparison, but to me you look like a mix of cheap lazy vegan and supreme banana!!
I kinda miss these videos where you mostly talk positive about China. Ever sinse you left you mostly talk negative about China. Im know your wife seems supportive of this but I still can’t imagine how she really feels some of the time. I’m sure its hurtful sometimes and it causes trouble with her and her family even though she wants to be supportive of her husband.
Love how the dumplings are (GF) and vegan. Fun video! Thanks
Didn’t even get to recipe and I have already subbed because of your great personality.
What model of Ninja blender is that (and the wattage)? The recipes look good…will be making soon. Having a gluten sensitivity, these vegan goodies are fantastic.
I love the market… lot of green there…of course I like your video
A recipe that doesn’t require a million things. You are a legend. Can’t wait to make these
Hello LoundNoodle (^^)
Handmade in your vegan dumpling video is very delicious!
I also liked vegan dumplings, so it was very helpful.
Thank you (^ ^!
Love it! Thank you! I will do the recipe tomorrow for my gluten-free hungry niece! Lol… I love your edits! Greetings from Costa Rica
how to make that soy dip in the end inwhich u dipped the dumpling
I don’t know tapioca flour can I make it just with rice flour?
This is awesome! Do you think I can keep the wrappers in the freezer? Thanks
Omg thank you for making this video!! Do you have any recipes for gluten free bao’s?
Am I the only person who is offended by the fact that we aren’t being served authentic Chinese food from the secret menus and are being served unhealthy food because we are American?
If I can’t find tapioca starch, can I use corn starch? Heeelppp, I’m dying for some dumplings!
My parents are pro dumpling/wonton makers and I grew up eating their homemade ones! They’ve been able to make regular vegan ones over the past 8 years, but I haven’t been able to eat any since I went gluten-free a couple years ago. T_T So I am SUPER stoked about your gluten-free wrapper recipe, and will def be giving that to my parents! THANK YOU <3
The wii cracked me up. Can’t wait to see how your channel grows
Love these! Will definitely be making those wontons soon
Fantastic! This GF dough has opened up some really delicious possibilities for me. Thanks!
nice very nice……I think vegan and gluten free going to be a big thing this year in the UK….thanks for video
This failed spectacularly for us. Ended up having to throw the dough out and order food for dinner. It just crumbled couldn’t wrap anything with it. Not sure where we went wrong:-/
Well then shit, if you want more Americans to try real Chinese food then don’t have a SECRET fucking menu!!!! I would take all that stuff far before the greasy regular fake Chinese food.
yess gluten free, SO much love right now!! Thanks for two delish recipes I desperately needed in my life right now haha xx
Look can you just live with me. I have zero ability to do this.
THIS IS NOT A DRILL, MY GLUTEN-FREE FRIENDS! This is the video for youuuu and I really hope you enjoy these dumplings!! Let me know what other gluten-free recipes you’d like to see. Leave a comment! ❤️Thanks for all your support and please don’t forget to subscribe! It really helps me out

I have just made these! (well i actually used some meat in the filling too, but other than that) the dough is great! I rolled them between 2 sheets of parchment paper because it was hard to keep it from sticking to my rolling pin. thanks so much =)
The flat fried noodles are on our “regular” Chinese food places’ menu and it is fantastic better than rice. One of my favorite things I ate in a bunch of places in China was a sort of sizzling cabbage dish with diced pork and chilis in it. Can’t find it or even recopies for it anywhere in the states.
My favorite Chinese food is a place called kings noodle and they just have one menu. It’s just really long
Hey, I was just making up this weeks edition of The GF Hub Weekend Bulletin. The focus is on gluten-free Asian. I love this video and your quirky sense of humour so I’ve loaded it to my site and sending the link to your youtube channel out to my subscribers. Thanks for an amazing video. Check it out here https://www.thegfhub.com/gluten-free-cooking you’ve inspired a new channel for gluten-free cooking. Would love to show more if your videos if your keen? Regards, Jodie.
She’s great. Sounds just like my sister in law. Hope I can enjoy this soon. Thanks.
I wonder if it’s true for hungarian chinese restaurants too.
We have chinatown in Budapest with authentic restaurants though, but they are a lot more expensive.
God bless you someone that finally lists the type of Glutenfree flour. Instead of just typing gf flour like there isn’t over 20 types of grains and blends ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m a little confused because you say Chinese restaurants have a separate menue for Chinese people only then you say ” and you shouldn’t be afraid to ask for it”. Are you saying only Chinese people shouldnt be afraid to ask or can any other race ask? I would love to try authentic Chinese food. It looks really good. I wish you added the price for your food so we know if it cost way more or not.
Whoever says C-Milks wife is ugly needs their head checking.
I made this today. I dont understand how yours are not breaking when you fold them. I kneaded the dough a lot but they still cracked open. Eventually, I made the dumplings by using one circle for the top and one for the bottom…there were still some cracks but it worked. They tasted amazing even my mom liked them and she is very picky. I wonder if addition of some kind of gum would help make the dough pliable…not sure. You are very talented!
Hey Laowhy86. After seeing all this delicious Chinese food now I want to eat some. Dang it!
Great video guys. As a chef I am somewhat of a traditionalist, but I also know food and its trends are always evolving. I recommend you read a book called food in history.
It no really secret, Provinces, village, and even FAMILY recipes are all different. Just order what you like the way you like. But! you needs to speak chinese.
Don’t think they can serve dogs in America lol might be illegal
Looks like the source of south Asian cooking to me. I’ve been cooking and eating Thai and Vietnamese food for years and the best Chinese restaurants serve dishes in that are spicier, hotter, and more complex.—CB
I could never understand why Americans don’t prefer to eat this stuff. The deep fried battered meat in syrup thing is so trashy.
This guy clearly adapted a lot better to Chinese food than Winston
I know American chinese is not authentic Chinese food, but damn at least compare nice upscale American chinese plates to the upscale authentic Chinese plates you were having palate for plate. You were comparing gross looking cheap buffet food instead of consistently comparing upscale American Chinese food at a nice restaurant served in an appetizing way with high quality ingredients. I’ve had upscale American chinese food and it is fabulous.
totally brilliant and you’ve made me feel like I could do this
these 2 fuckers just stereotyped majority of chinese restaurants in america and china…
I really wonder why we east asians never had steak. I mean Chinese are the gigantic gourmet people eating meat. Were it too simple for “bon vivant” there?
Amazing! Can’t wait to try this. Although recently soy has foresaken me so I’ll have to think of some substitutes.
why did they “americanize” it:(
why not just cook authentically? was it hard to get ingredients, were Americans not interested in the taste? because that seems unlikely. i mean why go to a restaurant if you weren’t looking for their cuisine?
It’s not secret! For 25 years I’ve eaten that food. Great when the kids start growing. All they eat is Dim Sum. And believe me you get Tantrums at the table if they don’t get their favourite Dim Sum. Includes me. PS! PRC Food is BORING. Eat the Chinese South East Asian Version. You’ll never go back!!
These fuckers are not about to serve us what they eat, and believe me it ain’t because their poor, or love us Soo very much, most of the time that road kill they term as dericious, is pretty fucking horrible, and they know it, they hate us, but they love our money, that’s the only reason they are in business, so the next time one of them serves you feces disguised as food, demand your money back, and tell them chi shi wandan.
The secret chinese menu: Bat with beans, Bat with fries, Bat burger, Bat with spam, Bat and peas, Bat with bat, excuse me do do anything without Bat. then bat with a corona!!!
This video is making me so hungry, I love authentic Chinese food!
I am surprised your wife likes spicy food, is she from the Sichuan province?
I wish he’s just shut up and let her talk. His smug attitude and white supremacist attitude is annoying. He’s in an Asian restaurant and he needa to let the Asian speak!
There are alot of real chinese food restaurants in NYC China Town
why the fuck can i see both her eyes in her profile, thats some freaky shit
I was at a Chinese restaurant and after I had finished eating, I asked for a dog…. but before I’d finished my sentence the waiter looked shiftily around and told me to come back later. Then I corrected him and said what I meant was a doggy bag for my unfinished food….. the lying bastard pretended that he knew what I meant. WTF!
I’ve gotta make this. Ever since my guts rebelled against gluten I haven’t eaten potstickers.
It’s easy for you two who live in China to criticize “Chinese” food in
America. We have nowhere to go! For most of us there is no Chinatown
for us to visit. Most of us live faraway from any Authentic Chinese
Restaurants to even begin to ask for a “Secret Chinese Menu”. Most of
us will never experience your dining adventures in America…sadly!
Every time I go to a chinese restaurant, I will walk through the place to the bathroom and there is always employees eating something authentic somewhere in the shop. They know how to cook real food. But generally they make those menus to be a profitable business. Fried batter is cheaper than meat, sugary syrup is cheap too and so is broccoli. So remember that you can ask if they have something “more authentic” but it can easily come off insulting and bad for business. Pretty much unless you know someone who works there, just order from the menu.
If they want more Americans to eat authentic, why keep the secret menu secret?
Thanks Karen! Another great video as usual. I already know some of these phrases and have used them eating out at a Chinese restaurant. If I’m ever in Shenzhen I’ll be sure to look you up and lunch will be on me the least I do for teaching us Mandarin.
5:24 WMAF trash tier. Both of them wouldn’t even pass as a 3 in their native countries. The white nationalist and the self hater lmao. The meme of them hurts my stomach too much
This guy is low key having existential crisis on the actions he has done in his life
If they want us to eat it, they could put it on the menu with an English name or of they’re in an area where people want something exotic, the Chinese name might work as well. I would try more traditional Chinese food if it were available on the menu.
Add “China”, “Obama”, “Cameron”, “vlog”, etc key words to the title and make the sentence long enough.
It’s called SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and may attract more audience.
Going to a restaurant and tell them what to cook? Yeah, that’s now it works buddy.
6:06
YEAH BUT SHE GAVE IT A 10/10 ON AUTHENTICITY EARLIER! WHAT IS GOING ON HALLLLLPPP
Cantonese cuisine is the mother of Chinese cooking…….based on freshness.
Mainlanders use far too much MSG.
We are super lucky in canada we have lots of authentic chinese food
I don’t know. Something about going into a Chinese establishment and demanding that they serve me their traditional cuisine feels very….entitled. Maybe there is a secret menu because they don’t exactly want to share those dishes.
You and manytestkitchen should be people’s go-to for vegan chinese recipe!
Many of the dishes mentioned in this video are on my local Chinese restaurant’s regular menu!:)
Imma be real here. That looked really good, but now I want some chow mein and orange chicken
And so I interpreted this video as the menu for Americans sucks while the menu for Chinese is fantastic.
Thank you for sharing this recipe! GF & vegan!! Woohoo! Happy day. 1 question though, do they freeze well?
The restaurant in the video is what I like to call a mix Chinese restaurant, which means that the menu of the restaurant that has both authentic and American Chinese food.
That is not true, my parents own an American Chinese restaurant and we don’t have a secret menu with authentic Chinese food. Now please note that it might be true for some restaurant, but just remember not EVERY American Chinese restaurant has one.
According to Dr.Joel Wallach YT
If one sibling is celiac or non celiac gluten sensitive….they all are…. because the Mother passes this on to her children through cord blood and or breast milk
Research canola oil…its very unhealthy
Thank you
I’ve had about a 5-10% success rate nationwide among maybe 200 or so restaurants finding one’s with separate menus. It’s a rarity and definitely not the norm. The vast majority of American Chinese restaurants are Fujianese ran and they don’t leave the stock menu if for no other reason than because they don’t carry ingredients on hand to make anything other than the westernized stuff that’s on the menu. The most common dish I’ve been able to find across the country in westernized restaurants is 水煮牛肉 and its fish counterpart 水煮鱼。99% of places with paper trifold menus do not do anything real.
Looks delicious! If you are interested in making another way of making Gluten free gyoza wrapper recipe, please check my channel!:)
This is an awesome video, I’ve been living in Yunnan for 2 years, I still need to improve my pronunciation… Keep it up!
Point at the picture on the wall or the menu. Or google translate.
1 person disliking is already a chinese speaker ahhaha excellent video thanks a lot
Please can you do a video on ordering for food over the phone (Carryout and Delivering the food). A few days ago, I tried practicing my Chinese by ordering for a carryout from a Chinese restaurant, and couldn’t find a word for carryout. I also tried looking for videos on youtube, but there were none. So I just had to try my best
Content looks great will have to check it when i have the time
Actually I think that’s bc you lived in Guangdong so you are used to Cantonese food? Egg rolls are usually spring rolls (春捲) for us。egg drop soup is like what mama makes (蛋花湯)
I have coeliac disease and am vegetarian. Seeing this has inspired me. We will be visiting Beijing. Xi an and Chengdu. I would ideally like a recommendation of anywhere you have safely eaten. (I like the bbq grill idea any specific place you would recomend?) Also translation cards all say I can safely eat meat. Which I don’t eat. Any advice would be great. Thanks
Could you not just use a pasta rolling for the wrappers? It seems like a hell of a lot of rolling!
Thank you so much for the informative video! I suffer from a severe allergy to wheat and gluten and always had alot of stress trying to take this into consideration while planning any trips outside of my home country. I have had a goal of visiting China and Taiwan for about 2 years now, however, my allergy really prevented me from taking serious steps to traveling to these places. I see that it is possible to live a GF life while in China, thanks so much!! Have any info on Gf eating in Taiwan??
UPDATE: You do NOT need a Chinese ID to get Taobao, apologies for the wrong information. But, setting up Taobao is tricky as it’s all in Chinese, so you may need some help!
Thanks for your video! I also don’t eat gluten and was wondering where to get the simplified Chinese travel card? Any ideas? I used one from a celiac website for my trip to Vietnam and it made things so easy!
Very interesting video but I’m going to tell you right now…a lot of Chinese restaurants are not going to serve this to you if you asked. You were lucky to find one with a “secret menu.” In addition to those who wouldn’t serve you special items off the menu, most are owned by Chinese-Americans who have lived in the states for a long time (or their entire lives) and don’t even know of these dishes. Chinese-American food is unique because Chinese people came over and put their own spin on things to appeal to a new culture and region doesn’t make it sub-par or worse than authentic Chinese food. It just makes it different. Different is okay and doesn’t have to be intimidating or scary…
The sauce you mentioned sounds great, thanks!! I’m gonna try it!!
Yes. There’s this delicious Korean place here in WA that most of the patrons that show up are Korean. I suspect they are hiding all the good stuff. lol.
That’s exactly what I did I got the dishes playing from the one place we could actually understand English on the to go order because a lot of times I did get it delivered and it was pretty much not okay and it became more trouble than it was worth but I found one place that actually delivers called mr. Cooks in my area that’s Phoenix Arizona and they are the manager speaks English so as long as he’s there I can get a veggie Mei Fun noodle just cooked in basic oil like vegetable oil that’s not my favorite but at least it’s safe and then I can add whatever I want cuz I have all of the sauces that are gluten free and vegan in my house and I can pretty much steare it any direction
This is really helpful for me as a Paleo person! Love your vids.
When I lived in Maryland, my husband and I found this wonderful Asian fusion restaurant called the Vegetable Garden. All of the dishes were vegan and they were soo health conscious. In their menu descriptions of each dish they had all of the health benefits of the vegetables and why they cooked them together. Not all of their dishes were gluten free but a vast majority of them could be. I miss it. Thank you for your videos!
Thanks for the tips. I went to a Chinese restaurant today and I ordered rice noodles with vegetables and gravy sauce. Little did I know that gravy is non-vegan until I came home and googled it. Lesson learned.
Thank you for a fun and informative video. I love your dresser. Where is it from?
We are lucky enough to have a vegan Asian restaurant near us. They are amazing. Their specialty is orange glazed tofu bites. It tastes very similar to orange chicken from Panda Express. So yummy.
Your channel has been a blessing! So happy for the sauce idea. Have always been suspicious of what’s in the sauce.
I do not have any diagnosed condition regarding gluten but I have realized that when I cut it out my sinuses do not give me a problem. As soon as I eat gluten (mainly bread and pasta) the next morning I am sneezing and blowing my nose.
So happy to find your channel because many gluten free things are not vegan. So your channel makes it easy!
I have been to a few Chinese/ Thai restaurants that offer steamed brown rice. So it is worth asking.
However I am like you with my occasional treats!
Okay I have blabbed enough!
Great video and good advice! I would love to see a day in the life video.:-)
This looks so good! Very similar to my fave take out, which is pad thai with veg and tofu. Essentially the same thing, but with rice noodles instead of rice. I know this is not the healthiest, but I could eat it everyday for the rest of my life:) And how good does that sauce look? Awesome idea, thanks for sharing with us! xo
That is essentially what I usually get at every Chinese place too and I love it people seem like they feel bad for me but it’s one of my favorite meals haha
Is the sauce vegan tho? Just not gluten free cuz I’m vegan and I get the sauce hope it doesn’t have meat or fish also doesn’t the fried rice have egg?
What a great idea for a quick date night without the kids. Thank you so much for sharing!
Yay!! So happy you like my sauce so much, and I think that’s an awesome idea to mix it with bought veggies and tofu. Thanks so much for the shout out!:D
We have been to 3 Chinese restaurants and get the steamed veggies with no sauce and rice. Every time there is a piece of chicken mixed in with the veggies. No idea why, maybe they use the same spoon? I so want to enjoy Chinese takeout we used to go to Mexican restaurants and i used to get the veggie fajitas and one time it had chicken and steak mixed in. The server said that they cook it all together and pick out the veggies, he laughed and said I guess they got some meat too. That was so not cool.
