This is a premium good value B12 Methylcobalamin from UK –

Please say why b12 via animal protein is best instead of just saying it’s best.
liver stores b12 for years. you are a shill
b12 is a bacteria poop.
thanks for much for all of this information! This video was very helpful!
This is now my Go To channel for all things health related. Thomas is all about information and no BS, thank you Thomas, all your videos are greatly appreciated.
Will it get absorbed in tongue or i need swallow it after 30 secs?? Can i spit it out after 30 secs under the tongue? Bcos it has some alcohol which irritates my gastritis. Someone pls reply. I need to take b12 coz am deficient..
Sir please change language this video in Hindi I don’t understand English sir
Bullshit, The body stores B12 in the liver and it lasts for years. So, when you have B12 deficit you notice it a long time after your body has stopped absorbing it well. What a bullshit video. If you take too much you get a lot of undesirable side effects.
I wonder if I’m a poor absorber of b12 because I was taking 25mcg of b12 a day and had a little tingling in my legs and hands occasionally. I was not eating animal protien. Now I take 1000mcg a day. I might go down to 250mcg like dr. Michael Greger recommends. But I feel good now.
My best friend has vitiligo, autoimmune disease. She’s also suffering anemia.
I heard vitiligo can destroy intrinsic factor, so b12 cannot be absorbed, and then anemia…
Is that true? she is just taking iron supplements without much success.
What I dont understand is you say you’re not the highest fan of supplements yet you recommend protein, creatine, boron, ashwaganda, vitb12, collagen, turmeric, maca. Etc etc
energy booster? only if you have B12 deficiency and anemia.
This is pretty good but it must be quite old because schillings test is no longer available and also you would want to look at homocystine because with low folate you will have low B 12 in term because they work together in unison as methylation
Can you tell what happens to the homocysteine levels when vit B12 is more than normal but folate is decreased?
Do proton pump inhibitors increase, the chance of B12. Deficiency
Methylcobalamin.? Adenosylcobalamin? Cyanocobalamin? Hydroxocobalamin.? I like your videos, I’ve learned to trust what you say. Can you tell me which you recommend on the keto diet, and how much. Kind of thinking Cyanocobalamin 2500 mg once a week. Thank you
Sorry, but B12 is stored in the liver, just because it is that important to our body. This storage can last for several years (5 to 20 years depending on the person) and that’s why some people only know they are low on B12 when there is very few left and begins to produce it’s nasty effects like anemia or worse. Vegetables have ZERO B12. Only animal products like dairy, liver, beef, egg yolks, and some other animal foods like clams, shellfish, sardines have it.
What MG is best recommended for B12?? i seen it go up to 5,000
What about retic count in vitamin b12 deficiency?? Reduced due to ineffective erythropoesis??
Thank you Jesus and thank you Thomas
This helpful
God bless you
Dude! What about us vegetarians? And, us “old” vegetarians? We sort of have the deck stacked against us, don’t we? Thanks for the video and best of luck!
As someone with Autism and Bipolar, caffeine is a no-go. But I am a Programmer, and late-nights are a must.:) B Vitamins are a Godsend.:D
How about the active forms vs the non active forms of B12. Can you talk about this process?
This is just superb, been searching for “how to get more energy at work” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of Qenason Energy Endorser (do a search on google )? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my colleague got amazing success with it.
Thanku for uploading this. I’m a premium osmosis member and please update the anemias. Website lacks that.
R protein is in salivary secretions. not in gastric or biliary, correct it please
what if you are an overweight teenager and you took about 10 capsules of 1000mcg B¹² for ‘metabolism’ because you’re depressed and want to stop eating??
I had severe anemia before I started taking Vitamin B12. Massive doses of iron weren’t fixing me and the doctors wanted to put me on medication to make my bone marrow create more red blood cells. Nope! I started on Vitamin B12 and my anemia is gone!
Sir, I am suffering for b12 deficiency. Our body not absobptio b12.
hey, i’ve had this! it was a really terrible experience i was constantly exhausted and had terrible chest pain, it felt like i was constantly out of breath. i also got sores on my tongue that would last weeks. if you suspect you may have folate deficiency please don’t wait to see a doctor, it’ll save you a lot of pain!
what about the one who is diabetic on insulin will supplement absorb?
Does taking B complex tablet is just as effective as the liquid?
Great, I just found a bottle around from my dad. I swallowed some and now I’m spinning like a gravitron. Yaa, if it just was that easy…
3 months ago my b12 level is 184. After i taking b12 supplement and now my b12 level is high 1200. So high b12 level can affect to my body? I feel sometimes my body burn.
Fārmingham offspring study?
It’s Framingham.
Done by the Journal of clinical nutrition? Journals don’t do studies, they review and publish them.
Haha. A dead give away that the man doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
Vegan alcoholics beware…LOL. Excellent lecture. Shall carnivores take a B complex if their digestion is impaired?
Awesome, but I have a question if b12 deficiency can I give folate as well with b12 or should I wait for folate lab value to confirm it’s deficiency?
Do your own research…..youtube doesnt claim to be 100% accurate.
I have been taking the b12 complex sublingual for a while now! At first I was just taking it for a vitamin supplement because where I work at it is hard to good healthy food’s that’s ready to eat! Mostly fast foods around, and the healthy food’s are expensive.
Hey guys, you can buy a bottle of B12 Over the counter and some insulin needles. Do your own sub q injections at home daily, or weekly, whatever you like. Easily injected into your quad muscle, you won’t feel a thing.
Thank you so much for this sir. You have no idea how helpful this is to me right now.
Woow. Now everything that I had to learn by heart in medschool I can understand it now very clearly. Thank you so much Osmosis, you are helpful even in holidays
You said methionine is an essential amino acid. But it can be formed from homocysteine by methylation reaction. So then how can methionine be essential if it’s produced by the body?
Lol the thumbnail reminds me of that movie A Cure For Wellness
thank u thank u so much for this awesome informative information. I’m on it off to getting B12 supplements, Any B12 supplement suggestions that are great in your book??? I always have joint pain do u think I should also take tumeric for inflammation??? I love ur channel I just found it and I’m already obsessed
Hello dear My name is Rosetta I really need to talk to you pls
i have thalassemia so keeping any vitamin is a struggle for me
Hi, great video! So if I take a capsule, the b12 doesn’t get a chance to bind to the Haptocorrin, does that mean my supplement is just getting disintegrated in my stomach acid?
I have taken b12 vitamins in the past and they make me feel so sleepy and lethargic. I don’t know why they affect me that way. I do have a history of anemia and the doctor says I have small red blood cells so I take iron supplements daily. I always assumed that maybe my body chemistry except the B12 supplement.. Have you ever heard of a case like this?
Hello thank you very very much for your efforts
But i have two questions one is amylase for carbs digestion? But u said it help to dissociate B12 from protein? Is this mean amylase has two functions???
The other question is normal flora in our intestine also synthesized B12 true!? If the person is strict vegan B12 not become zero?? And don’t reach to severe state??
Can you clarify this to me??
And again thank you
Osmosis is now copying this video so sad to see. Hit report!!
“Today we’re talking about B-12, also known as cobaLAMin.” Haha. It’s coBALamin.:)
We know,what lovely doctor…
We want u to do CVS videos…what do u think

I’ve been a vegan from 16 to 18 (2,5yrs) i allways took b12 supplements. But even now, more than a year later i star again to eat animal products i feel brainfog. May I have permanent brain damage?
What if someone has a MTHFR mutation and can’t utilize the standard form of B12? Is it true that only methyl b12 is effective?

2 years ago i used metformin for weight loss, i lose wieght but got ice pick headach which i never experienced in the past, after that i got grey hair in th area of ice pick headache. Than i stop using metformin and from past 1 and half years im using vitamin B12 sublingual, Now i get less pain and some of grey hair turn blach. But now due to my stress and depression nothing works, my hair turns grey faster. Im 32. Now what can i do. Also premature grey hair is not in my family genetics.
Hello, where can I buy Adenosycobalamin shots ( injectable )? Thank you
Not true. Humans store B12. Another meat eater with fake news
Why are animal sources the best? Arent the animals just supplemented?
Heres one for you to analyse and explain (if there is an explanation for it lol)…. Microcytic Megaloblastic Anemia….. Deficient in B6, B12, Iron and Folate.
“Imagine an alcoholic strict vegan with pernicious anemia, he has left the hospital for terminal ileum resection because of Crohn’s diseases. He’s now going to eat some sushi to get fish tape worm because he cannot have terminal ileum diseases if he doesn’t have a terminal ileum”
LOLOLOL
how about other b vitamin (B1,B6,B9,B5) gets absorbed in body similar to B12? If someone has B12 deficiency will there be problems with other B vitamins as well?
With that intonation and jokes i cant help but laughing hahahaha
Vegans get B12 from Brewers Yeast. You also don’t know much here.
b12 is made from bacteria….however the world is more sterile now. We used to get our b12 from pond water (water is now treated) and we triple wash our produce (soil )…so it affects the general population (meat eaters and vegans). Animals are supplemented with b12 so why not get it directly and cut the middleman
if you want a simple explanation
you were attacked by microscopic
aliens and you need the avengers
B12 comes from soil or dirt which is then transfered to plants which is then transfered to animals.
Animals are just a middleman
My fitness performance is poor right now. Gonna try a b complex supplement and paying more attention to my food choices.

Glucose doesn’t get used for energy with b12. It’s getting absorbed into your muscles so you reduce muscle cramps.
Can vitamin B12 help to give me energy? What is the best brand that you recommend? Is it safe to take over the counter without talking to a doctor?
that was great! waaaay more than I anticipated from YouTube but I learned a lot. thank you.
There is no need to take any nutritional supplement, or eat animal proteins. Intestinal microbes produce all B vitamins, including B 12! Metagenomic analysis has predicted that Bacteroides fragilis and Prevotella copri (Bacteroidetes); Clostridium difficile, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii and Ruminococcus lactaris (Firmicutes); Bifidobacterium animalis, B.infantis, and B.longum (Actinobacteria); Fusobacterium varium (Fusobacteria) possess a vitamin B12 biosynthesis pathway. Indeed, Lactobacillus plantarum and L. coryniformis isolated from fermented food produce vitamin B12, and Bifidobacterium animalis synthesizes vitamin B12 during milk fermentation. Thanks for your watching!
I watch all ad on your vedio,,
i didn’t watch it because I am busy but feel that content is perfect,,
U r my angel always there to safe me thanks alot MF☺☺☺☺☺
I am a vegan who is making sure I get enough B12; but my meat-eating grandfather supposedly died of pernicious anemia. Is it possible to die from pernicious anemia? Or is it really death from complications of pernicious anemia?
Medicosis when is the best time to take B12 and can it be taken with B1 and B6 and Magnesium together?
Awesome & informative video, but I like Tanner’s voiceovers better.
I had no idea what you said but I tried to agree with it
I’ve been diagnosed with vitamin B12 and Vitamin D deficiency.
Lathargic, feeble, insomnia, pains in the body, swellings, tongue soreness, mouth smell, anxiety and depression are my symptoms.
I have neurological problems but my overall b12 count has come back fine is it possible that i still have a b12 deficiency?
I found out my levels are at 60 today and I’m 32 weeks pregnant. I’m getting shot tomorrow. Is it very dangerous
So, much appalling misinformation in the video.
1. You don’t lose B12 every time you pee. You only lose the excess B12 you consume.
2. Contrary to “the bodies don’t store it at all”, we actually store 3-5 years’ worth of vitamin B12 in the liver.
3. If you choose B12 shots, you need them monthly, not weekly.
4. If using sublingual or oral route, you don’t need it daily, weekly is enough.
Many, many others… e.g. Hydrochloric acid doesn’t break the “protein-peptide bond” (whatever that is), the protease breaks down proteins to peptides.
All the vegetarian foods he’s showing as part of the video have precisely zero (0) molecules of B12.
Bottom line, this person knows little to nothing about B12 (and by extension, all of nutrition in general) and is just reading off a script made after shoddy googling.
Your videos are great…but as a high school student I don’t understand…any ways to improve it?I’d like to learn more stuff from you!
Cheers for the Video clip! Excuse me for chiming in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you considered Tarbbatigan Social Plugin Tip (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is an awesome one off product for enlarging your testicles and increasing your testosterone level minus the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my GF after a lifetime of fighting got excellent results with it.
Hi

Thanks for your brief videos. What is the solution. Please I need reply if uiu have time or is it in your previous video.
I bought a timed B12 supplement but I’m not sure when I should take it! any advice?
Your the best thanks alot…just one point in 8:26 its methionine synthase not homocystin
Thank u, it’s very useful
But i have a question
What the difference between macrocytic anemia and pernicious anemia? Both of them have a deficiency of vit b12
I am low on vitamin b12 and i just got told it was my diet but I eat loads of meat, eggs and dairy products and was told to eat more leafy vegetables… I am constantly tired, I have cold feet and hands (but this can tie into when I had cancer and neuropathy), is my doctor correct in her diagnoses… is it my diet?
Sir what are the normal levels for Vitamin B12? below than 200 ng/ml B12 level, is it considered normal or low?
R protein is basically protecting Cobalamin from Gastric acid and acidic medium but there is no gastric acid in duodenum. So why is there biliary secretion of R protein into small intestine?
Pleas biochemestry lecturs like the hematology lecturs that is very helpful thhanks budy
Why is megaloblastic anemia actually an anemia? How does it cause a decrease in oxygen supply to tissues?
Fun fact: it’s actually quite rare for a vegan to be B12 deficient these days. Plant-based milks and vegan products are now fortified with both B12 and folate
So i need mora stomach acid to have a good gut?? And how i do that
Retic count *pts hematocrit/ normal hematocrit.
If less than 2.5 than usually nutritional deficiency anemias.
Weekly?lmao didn’t do your research. Who has time to go to the doc to get b12 shots weekly
B12 comes from bacteria not animals. Animals are not the best place to get b12.
If alcohol prevents folate absorption and folate deficiency is a cause of macrocytic anemia then alcoholism can cause both megaloblastic (folate def) and non-megaloblastic (chronic alcoholism)?
Why folate should not be given in b12 defciency kindly explain
what is the CONFIRMATORY test for megaloblastic anemia?
Bone marrow?
Best bit is when he said the strict vegan alcoholic ate sushi.
yes yes… Very important for energy, metabolism and nervous system. thank you Thomas:)
Thanks for the video. I’m trying to move away from “energy drinks”. Going to look into B12 drops
There is something causing me to have occasional purpura on my forearms. I can run my fingernail over the skin and it will be dark purple in seconds. Most of the time you could take a hammer and chisel and not cause it. I’m 55 and I’m not taking any blood thinners of any kind. I notice it seems to happen in conjunction of me not eating much. I go through periods where food isn’t important to me and not on my mind and I literally forget to eat or force myself to eat at least once a day. I’ve been trying to figure this out. I’ve mentioned it to my PCP and my rheumatologist, and they look at me like I’m nuts. When I showed it to my rheumatologist yesterday where I’d just absent mindedly reached up and scratched my forearm and it left a 2″x4″ horrible purple patch, he was wondering why my skin was itching. It wasn’t itching, really, other than the typical itch one gets on occasion. I first thought it may be protein deficiency, however, I’m beginning to wonder if it’s B12I do have a history of low B12 and for the first time in my life I was diagnosed with anemia also. Any thoughts?
Isnt Chromium Piccolinate more effective in transforming carbohydrites into engery than b12?
great, but I cannot eat any animal products, as I am totally aware of how human beings treat animals. Since i have been a vegan for decades (and healthy), can it be that the Intrinsic Factor synthesis is reduced in me (in all vegans) just because we do not trigger its synthesis?
I sometimes use patches. Sometimes. And is it possible that we produce our B12 thanks to our intestinal bacteria, like cows do?
Don’t listen to him. Most of his facts are not facts at all.
my god…. Every commercial is from headspace… and its making me lose my mind…
Hey my Vitamin b12 level was a 283 and i live in the US. Is that low? Also my Vitamin D level is a 13 ng/ml
I took a zipfizz when I started playing beach volleyball and finally after 3 months on keto I notice my energy come back. I was getting run down every time I played. So what was different??? I looked at the nutrition label I saw that it had a huge amount of vitamin B12. So now that I saw this video I will try B12 to see if my energy for my workouts come back. If u could make a video for high intensity training on keto (beach volleyball, basketball, triathlon training) that would be great. Love your channel.
I enjoyed this I have a B12 deficiency,..will check out the, macrocytic
I’m a carrier of thalassemia disorder, and I have to consume folic acid whole my life..
so what type of doctor, or what type of testing does my family doctor need to do to find out why my energy “has left the building” so to speak. i have been taking sublingual b-12 for over a year, and nothing has changed. also, my magnesium level is, and has remained in critically low level, despite infusions twice a week for months. and my doc can not figure out why.

Myth: “animal protein is best”. Absolutely false. Fact: Supplementation is best… For all of the complex reasons given in this video. Supplemental B12 is not bound to protein and thus has the highest absorption rate by Intrinsic Factor (about 50%). Oral B12 supplementation has a much higher rate of passive diffusion (over 1%, because of dose and because it’s not bound to protein).
Loved this..i have b12 deficiency…thank you I am a RN and enjoyed it
no sir…B12 cynacobolamin in vitamins or B12 in fortified foods are best source of B12 not animal protein

imagine eating fish meat to increase the B12 in your diet, only to get Diphyllobothrium latum inside you and cause more B12 deficiency. hahahaha
Animals are supplemented with b12. Not the best source at all. It’s produced in your ileum anyways.
Does Erectodom Secrets really help to solve your erectile dysfunction problem? I’ve learn a lot of good stuff about this popular erectile dysfunction natural treatment.

My hemoglobin is 153 ( High)
Mcv is 82.5 (low)
Iron serum is 25.8 (high) this is my functional medicine ranges but i am confused what type of anemia do i have? Is it pernicious?
I think giving only folate in case of B12 can actually cause some permanent neurological damage
I have high RDW, low mch and low mcv
What does this mean?
My hemoglobin is also slightly low
Fish tape worm!!!!! Yikes, and I love sushi. However, I’m still having a blast learning stuff I may never need to know. I try not to mention any of this in social settings as it tends to annoy some people. And I don’t as a rule mention parasites.
Geezuz. I have serious reason to be depressed but all these years, B12 could fix it.
If i didnt get close to dying that night, i wouldnt have known.
B12 for life
I love Osmosis videos in general but more often than not I feel they go into too much detail on specific and not useful information, as exemplified in this video, where all these enzymes, sub-products and precursors are explained without having any clear use in clinical practice and even in medical exams. I feel like there are many other points you guys could better cover instead of focusing on these minor details, like how to choose treatments, drug doses or important considerations.
Thank u sir.All the videos are excellent.I find it easy to read the topic from book after watching ur videos.
How long does it take for the folic acid tablets to start working
sir my age is 29,i m suffering from deficiency of b12 &d3 from last 8 years, after taking supplements 12 level increase but after some time, the deficiency start again, please suggest me what should i do? which tests should i go through, please suggest
Hi. Thanks a lot. It’s always a pleasure to watch your videos.
Concerning the neurological symptoms, in fact, they are present in both folate and vitamin B12 deficiency.
In folate deficiency: we often have depression, dementia, and less commonly, peripheral neuropathy and subacute combined degeneration of the spinal cord.
In Vit B12 deficiency: all of these neurological symptoms are possible.

Most people vegan Vegetarian or not do not ingest B12 at all unless its fortitfied in the food its self why do you treat B12 as a Plantbased diet problem? If you dont wash your fruits and vegetables in nature (No GMO’s and no pesticides ) you’ll get B12 or if you eat animal large intestines…. And you dont need that much of it.
Can i consume 3mg of folic acid per day? Am consuming folic acid due to anemia.
IM IN LOVE WITH THESE VEDIOS, you are a life savor thanks a lot!
Fantastic video and easy to follow. Though as usual the super rich world of enzymes makes it easy to get lost for a newbee.
thanks for the clear video and info! I just got informed i’m folic deficient, been losing weight for months no idea why, I consume plenty fruit and veg, and am a 33yr old male so not pregnant lol. Also diagnosed with ADHD last year and I am wondering how long and how much of an impact this hidden deficiency has been having on me. Doctors prescribed me with folic acid tablets, but I am fairly sure they’re ignoring the fact that I tell them I eat plenty of B vit foods and even take a regular B vit complex too…
Sir in book we have till the folate or vit B12 metabolosim but in lecture we study absorbsorb not metabolism so any on can hepl me plz
So in the past when I’ve boughten b-complex vitamins i’m convinced that I gain weight (at least water) from them… b12 alone doesn’t do this to me so just curious if this is possible? They definitely give me energy so can’t tell if the weight gain from them is paranoia or what
Reticulo means net work and cyte means cells (baby RBCs) and it must be between 1-2%
Thanks so much for this incredible explanation with drawings! I really enjoyed it.
Great explanation I been diagnosed with RA. I working on a strict diet that helps my symptom. Currently I only eat fish and a couple eggs a week. I would like to see other sources of natural b12. Any suggestions?
could you possibly do a video on depersonalization/derealization disorder?
I love how he goes. FINE! after each point. Very easy video to follow, really helpful for my physiology exam!
Don’t promote the raising of animals for food. It’s the main cause of Amazon rainforest destruction and global warming

What about vitamin b deficiencies for people genetic issues, such as mthfr c677t? In my area the are either a lot of doctors that don’t know what vitamins I should take or what I have seen online is wrong. I know there are so many factors to consider, but what type of doctor can give me the correct information?
I have some questions To which protein is cobalamin bound in the liver? Is it still transcobalamin? Is it correct that amylase cleaves cobalamin and „animal protein“ as it actually serves as an enyzme for carbonhydrate metabolism? Thanks a lot!
Love you osmosis
Please make all free videos
Its a human thing
Thank you brothers
I would take a super B complex and I seen no difference. my doctor told me the acid in my stomach killed it before my body could absorb it. I was upset and I have low iron making me feel fatigued all the time.
So, since animals dont make B12, why is there B12 in animal products?
Very informative, who knew your body might not be utilizing carbohydrates. Indeed no exercise or supplements can ever replace a healthy diet.
From animal products. Reeeeeally???? You will die from another disease befor you ever realize you have B-12 deficiency. Please take time and check the studies of B-12 in high meat consumption countries.
Thank you very much. Your explanation is simple and informative .
Thank you! these videos are great. very easy to understand. keep them coming please.
liverwurst, beef liver and eggs all have an abundance of B12, A and B6 (it is a good thing I like Liver, I like Liverwurst and I eat about 6 eggs a day)
Hi, would you help me clarify if this anemia is or not hyperchromatic? In italian wikipedia page it says: “it used to be called hyperchromatic anemia” and one of my professors wants to hear “hyperchromatic” during the exam but i’m not sure:/
I have been struggling with being lethargic and fatigue, I work out at least 4-5 days a week, my diet isn’t horrible and my blood test were terrific! I believe I’m yet lacking B12, I took my first quick dissolve tablet today and honestly I immediately felt the difference, I will experiment for 30 days, I think I found my solution thank you for such a good informative video
Excellent video! This video is very informative and useful! Thank you for sharing.
And again, the lesson here is chewing your food and taking time eating is key. I think one the reasons why I was deficient in nutrients in general was eating too fast and drinking too much coffee. The latter makes your stress levels go high which makes you chew less and faster. Oh boy!
My blood test shows that I have over 1300 (PG/ML) of B12, my bilirubin over 1.7 (MG/DL), and high levels of bad cholesterol. Every year when I see those High levels of B12 on my yearly physical exams I ask my Doctor if that is OK, and I always receive the same answer. “No worries It is fine.” I have a feeling that it is not fine.
The methylene group from the THF=CH2 is transferred to d-UMP with help of B12?
Best video on YT on this topic.
I’d like to add something about the weird terminology here, just details but might help someone:
1) haptocorrin = transcobalamin I (and I think formerly aka transcobalamin III) = cobalophilin = R-protein = R-factor = R-binder [“R” stands for “rapid electrophoretic mobility”].
2) The intrinsic factor receptor in the terminal ileum is also called “cubilin”; the receptor in the kidney that’s responsible for the B12 reabs. is the same like the one in the terminal ileum (it is also cubilin!) with the small difference that megalin was added to this receptor (which means this receptor is more “elaborate” than the one in the terminal ileum). Also, in order for cubilin to work, you need a membrane protein that will make cubilin stay put (and will help in the endocytosis, once B12 bound), this protein being called “amnionless”.
3) A mutation in cubilin or amnionless (autosomal recessive) leads to the Imerslund-Gräsbeck syndrome (syn.: defect of enterocyte intrinsic factor receptor, enterocyte cobalamin malabsorption, megaloblastic anemia 1, juvenile pernicious anemia with proteinuria due to selective intestinal malabsorption of vitamin B12), 1:200k in Finland/ Norway -> patients will have problems with both, B12 abs. AND reabs (remember, cubilin/ amnionless is present in both organs).
4) B12 bound to transcobalamin II (the transporter in the blood) is called “Holotranscobalamin” (“active B12”).
5) Haptocorrin is also produced in the stomach, not only by the salivary glands; and, as said in the vid, haptocorrin can bind 80% of the B12 in the blood making it unavailable for use.
Source(s): Boron, wiki, GHR, countless research papers until I found out what “R” in “R-factor” stands for.
Motivation: When I first studied B12 abs. I was frustrated because people would either be SHIT in explaining it (i.e., didn’t know the exact mechanism), or would provide incomplete explanations; the fkd up terminology wouldn’t improve things…
Thank you <3
Dave Asprey recommends to take up to 5000 micrograms a day, do you agree? Also he says you should take folat (5-mthf quatrofolic) with your longterm b12 supplementation otherwise it can cause braindamage, do you agree?
I like your videos very much. I guess you’re studying to be a doctor, which is super full on anyway, let alone uploading videos too. But I think you might be able to remember more about important subjects if you do the videos on the real important stuff. I dont know, I just thought I’d comment to say that it could be a good idea for memory retention.
Cheers, have a good one.
