A hip pointer injury is characterized by bruising and usually causes bleeding into the hip abductor muscles. The pain may be felt when walking, laughing, coughing, or even breathing deeply. Hip pointer injuries are most commonly associated with contact sports, although they can occur with any blunt force injury or severe fall.A hip pointer is a deep bruise to the ridge of bone on the upper outside of your hip, called the iliac crest.
It’s often a result of a direct blow to the hip or a hard fall. Hip pointer symptoms include pain and tenderness. Recovery from the injury usually involves taking a break from activity until it heals.

Use proper safety equipment in any activity that opens you up the risk of contact (pads, helmets, wrist, elbow, shin, and knee guards, gloves, etc.).
Surgical treatmentSurgical treatment is necessary if hip pointer injury is associated with fracture of hip bone. The fragment of displace fracture is realigned at original position and fix to the hip bone by either passing nail or wire. at a hotel with fullsize bed i rolled and fell out and hit the floor pretty hard…i did wake up 1/2 way down and braced alittle but the pain has been ridiculous for months now…i gave up on these phony Drs here in Fl. 3 weeks for an appointment then call this place for another appoint which was another 2 weeks after all that call back the original Dr only to wait another 3 weeks…and all thru this the money is running being disabled and retired.ive asked for something for the pain and the last Dr just chuckled

From early January, I’ve suffered from acute pains in my left leg. I couldn’t take more than 5 steps of walk, because of pains.
It started from a small pain in my lower back.
(I run for an exercise. Recently, I increased amount of workout. I think it was a source of the problem.)
All that I could do was some indoor exercise & spread gel on the left leg. As time went on, it’s been improved, but pains were still in my left hip & thigh.
Yesterday, I tried your exercise.
Those pains have disappeared significantly.

I came here to find help because my hip was hurting but all he was talking about was prevention. I believe most people that have come to watch this video are here because they are currently experiencing pain and they are not here for pain prevention. Disappointed..

I’ve been having hip pain for a while now. It seems to just go away and even in extreme running I was doing as good as ever. It just came back out of nowhere. If anyone has an explanation for this I’d appreciate it! Looking to see a doctor as soon as possible.

I’m dealing with a Hip Pointer in my right Hip as I have chronic aches severe pain and soreness in my right Hip I got this Injury when I accidentally fell in July when I was walking and my left Foot got snagged on the curb of the sidewalk and I lost my balance and my right Knee gave out on me as I have Arthritis in my right Knee and boom bang I took a tumble I also hit my Head on the Concrete which I ended up with a Bump on my Head and 2 Black Eyes along with the Hip Pointer in my right Hip

I was trying to learn middle splits. I was very close to learning them but I forced myself to much and I injured my left hip. Are these exercises going to help in this kind of situation? Because I really want to achieve the middle splits.

ı’ve been getting small spikes of pain in my hip for about a year or so. Then suddenly yesterday I started having severe pain in that hip. Hi there, I’ve just been getting back into football the last 2 months, I’m 40 years of age. All of a sudden the last two to three weeks I’ve been having sharp stabbing pains in my hips. When I stand up and lower myself down on the right leg, at a certain point my right hip feels like it’s being stabbed or pinched, and it feels weaker than my left hip. It feels deep within the hip. Doctor, thanks for the video. I would suggest one item. Your explanations were simple and effective ( those are good things ). But I would have loved if you went into ( when you feel pain in this area after running, you are probably dealing with an issue to body part 1, or body part 2 ). For me, I ran 2 days ago ( been training for a mini triathalon for months. ) and I had an issue. I came to your youtube to see if I might be able to diagnose myself.

I had intense pain in my lower back on one side for a little while. It got so bad that I couldn’t even continue my job so I had to take a leave of absence to try and get it fixed. I’m like 15 in a body of 100 year old, my brain says fun, fun, fun, but once rested my body says, ummm, let’s get out of bed with a hunched over body, hobble to the toilet, lean over and brace myself and try to force a dribble out. Or worse, I need to sit and push, my hips hate it.
I remember having this a very long time ago and its not the best pleasureful pain to have. I even when to get an x-ray for this and they didn’t know what it was. Glad to see that this is being more aware now.

@nabilebraheim i think i have this, im a skateboarder and i fell directly on my hip it happened november 9th and m leg/hip hurt to the point were i couldnt walk up stairs, but now it does not hurt it just kinda pops and its annoying haha does that mean that its starting to heal?

Lay on your back and do the frog pose where both feet touching. It’s not hard like the typical frog pose. Do this on your bed if you like. But this one helped me so much.

Gentle exercise like this and a healthy diet aid pain relief in painful joints. I’ve also heard that Indian Tonic Water also helps because it contains quinine. I guess it controls the inflammation somehow. Anyway I’m going to give it a try. It’s worth a go.

Will this patient be on crutches for approx. 6 weeks and/or begin physical therapy to strengthen muscles to prevent further injury?
