Ham or bacon is not a good source of protein. They are high in sodium. Ham and bacon are very processed meats that contain nitrites and antibiotics. Seeds and nuts are better source of clean protein.

If I take that smoothie or Greek yogurt as my breakfast, most of my net carbs would be consumed already in the morning. As I get out of ketosis if I take more than 15 or 20 net carbs.

Don’t mix spinach with fruit. Fruit needs to be eaten alone other wise it will ferment. And use coconut yogurt. Animal dairy is toxic! It has tons of hormones in it and causes women to have even more hormone issues

Girl: drop the oats and just make a protein chia pudding for a higher fat/lower carb option. It also works as dessert. I use either milk (whatever you like) or get fancy and use some coconut cream (oh my dayz), chia seeds, a lick of honey (or maple syrup of stevia drops etc etc etc whatever) and vanilla protein (you literally don’t taste it) and just sit it overnight in the fridge like you do with the oats. Top with toasted nuts, cinnamon, a piece of fruit… whatever x

Hello, new follower✌Something I’ve been very confused about when it comes to macros and tracking calories. When active or exercises do you replace those calories lost? So if eating 1,800-500 from training do you eat back those 500? This is one thing I never understood?

Dr. Becky….the information you gave for blueberries are not accurate. One cupful has 21g of carbs, 4g of fibre, 1g of protein, 84 calories and a glycemic load of 7. According to Carb Manager, blue berries are to AVOID. For people on a low-carb diet who are probably on anywhere from 25-45 carbs a day, having these blueberries in your smoothie would almost use up your daily quota of carbs. If this is your one meal a day you’re having, then it’s probably ok, but likely it is not. However, blackberries and raspberries are fine to have in your smoothie as they have a much lower carb count.

I notice that if I start off my day with high carbs(oatmeal or pancakes) and sugar(fruit) then I am hungry 30 minutes later and crave sweets all day. Breakfast IS hard! I don’t like oatmeal for the most part. I resort to peanut butter toast, cream of wheat or Cheerios to be perfectly honest. I don’t out this much effort into breakfast but I totally would on a weekend! But the yogurt bowl looks easy and delish! For the pancakes or french toast to brown like that you need fat or it’ll just burn or won’t turn as good.

To me, a breakfast with 21 grams of carbs is not a low carb breakfast.

In talking about keto coffee, you said it is not considered a whole food. Do you mean the MCT oil only or all of it? I thought, although they are beverages, coffee and heavy cream would fall under the whole foods umbrella.

The fat in yogurt is not a healthy fat. It’s saturated. Better to buy no fat plain yogurt and add a full serving of monounsaturated fat by adding nuts to add good fat. Just like it’s better to use olive oil for fats than butter. Fat is good but like carbs they are not created equal.
Please girl. Have a bowl of oatmeal with some berries with some whole milk on top and you’re going to get a good healthy breakfast and the carbs from the oats are fine!
Hello, Thank you for your brilliant tips but have you got any tips to help me, I am adrenal insufficient, allergic to nuts and shellfish, don’t like coffee and am trying to do a keto diet but I am rather limited to what I can eat so the longer I am doing it the harder it is as I am getting problems as I feel sick a lot of the time as I keep going towards adrenal crisis and believe me, after being unconscious for two days I really can’t face eggs, can only just swallow because of dehydration. If I have chicken I’m hungry a couple hours later.

Along the same lines of a couple of other questions I have asked you, doesn’t all of this saturated fat raise your cholesterol levels? With high LDL, the MDs then want you to take statins. I think statins are dangerous in certain ways especially with memory loss issues,But how do we go about keeping our cholesterol low if we’re eating all of the saturated fat? I don’t get it.
