What happens to our bodies after 40 is a trifecta of weight gain: Our hormones change, our metabolism starts to slow down and if we’re not lifting weights, we start to lose just a little more muscle every year. Sleep is the most important thing on this list; I will forward this to my friends.
Good Morning!..I just discovered your video this morning, and I want to say THANK YOU for the bottom of my heart for giving some amazing and real insight about this lifestyle journey!..I wrote down your steps and am definitely going to put them in motion…In 2012 and being in my late 30s then, I decided to practice an overall healthy lifestyle, because I wanted to be a better example for my daughter and to healthily counter the health issues that ran in my family…however, when I had my last child in 2013, it seemed as if my weight especially in would not leave!..I have never had a gut before but know that it is my food intake habits…the short of the long, I am now working with a trainer for that extra accountability and will do what I need to do about changing my eating habits!..I’m an “in-between” snacker so I’m looking for better ways to deal with that too…thanks again so much for being so transparent!..I will be signing up with your community and praying that I follow through above all!☺️
Whew chile…finally someone who is speaking the real. Weight loss at any age is hard. The difference between younger and older is the set in of habits, stubbornness, and sometimes we get used to lying to ourselves.
“I’m just big boned”…blah blah blah. “Know thyself”. Know what you want and make it happen.
Damn I lost 12 pounds. helpful weight loss video. Thanks for the video helped a lot!
Thanks for being so real!!! I’m 46. As I’m getting older, I appreciate real! Thanks for passing on the info Good luck!
I would love to also see fitness programs an exercises for woman 50 an over women who have struggled with menopause who is in chronic pain who have certain body parts like hips or back it’s a reason that I don’t think that I am capable of doing some of these excersis and I need someone who can gear a program exercise and nutrition to someone and my status
Great and informative. I’m gonna follow it and let you know in a month.
Question..Why can’t you lose weight.. Answer.. Cuz you eat too much and you don’t work out hard enough…
Never knew some of these keys of weight loss which I think I should’ve known before, these will help me in my quest for losing weight, great video.
Would this work for women as well? My mum is in her late 40s and she has a lot of health problems so she cant do excessive excercise. She has migraine, gastric, fibrois, arthritis.
You gotta reverse diet, so you won’t regain all the weight Lost during your diet ✌
Sleep is a big point and when I don’t get enough sleep I feel tensed up and start eating a lot. Thanks for your advice.
This is right on time! I’m 41 and I’m having the same issues.
@BeautyCutright you are the QUEEN of fitness and nutrition. You have helped me tremendously and I am so grateful that I found your channel and paid close attention to the advise you put out there. You are the Truth! As always thanks for sharing your knowledge.:)
Glad I saw this video though cuz I was thinking I accidentally starved myself and I was gonna bloat up again, now I know what happened and can feed myself accordingly ^•^Thanks for sharing this!
Yes brother…. eating more plant-based foods is definitely the key to keeping your weight down.
It’s interesting how sleeping more is at the top of the list. Thanks for reminding us how important getting enough sleep is.
Everything you said was spot on. I lost 70 lbs but gained half of it back from a relationship. I’m back on it though. Thank you for this video!
Then what about a video about the size of portions, or is it to subjective by individual? I mean they must be a general ”normal” size? And as always, I love your channel.
Man, It’s been a while since I’ve really dedicated myself to losing weight, great time to start
What sucks is, the more I get into a healthy lifestyle, my body just wont sleep past 6 hours.
great video, great advise. now all I have to do is follow it
Thank you for this! The journey is real. Turning 50 this year, have hypothyroid (zero metabolism) and fatigue. I tell myself to mentally push thru because if I work out or not I will feel like crap. Bad knees, bad back, etc so I have videos for every scenario of my body aches, pains, etc. Sssiigghhh…I am minimizing carbs & eating fish & poultry and veggies until I get these thyroid levels in check. The most important thing I tell myself is to just do something everyday. My goal is 6K-10K steps daily at a minimum; most days I get booster in (right now walking at home). Balance, balance, balance. Please keep doing what you are doing.
New subscriber to your channel
Thank you for the great content i needed the motivation today.
Its hard with arthritic type pain to excercise properly but you give great tips. Btw you dont look a day over 30 you look fabulous God bless you
Thanks Lee for the great advice. I got good results by cutting sugar and bread from my diet and doing 2 a-day workouts, one cardio in the morning and one weight lifting in the afternoon/evening.
I really needed to hear this. You are absolutely correct about motivation, there is no such thing as motivation it’s habit. I’m currently working on my all things healthy a habit especially when motivation doesn’t exist. Thank you.
Sleep is a big one. I figured out that I won’t eat right, get enough activity or have a decent attitude without it. Sleep quality also matters. See a doctor and get a sleep study along with some sort of treatment if necessary. A lot will change once you start getting enough quality sleep.
I am counting calories, eat 1400 calories,I walk 2-3 miles per day and two meals are replaced with slim fast shake for 4 days I haven’t lose anything!
I really think its so tough to loose weight after 40 but after watching your channel it seems easy to me.
Another Very good one from you! I wanna recommend this video!

Very informative and useful video about how to Lose Weight. I think your tips will be effective and useful to Lose Weight. Thanks for sharing this video.
I’m trying to lose weight fast but its so hard. I felt like giving up sometimes. But this video gave me hope. I learned so much from this video. Thank you!!
Sleep! Sleep! Sleep!!!! As I get older, everything hinges on getting a good night’s sleep! All my other Healthy Habits are affected by sleep
great video, thank you! I’m 46 this year & i’ve struggled with my weight for a long long time… exercising isn’t a problem for me I can easily put in 4/5 days a week… it’s food that’s the problem!♀️ lol… i’ve made a list of everything you’ve said, i’m going to put notes all around my kitchen as a distraction from bad habits & learn to develop better habits… i can do this, so can you
Me neitherI can’t stand the movement of my butt and gutt
The more I watch this guy the more I love him, I ain’t even close to being a father yet this info helps out immensely!!! Thank you man!!!
Another great video for us older men. Keep up the good work Doc.
What are some ways to lost tons of fat? I read lots of superb reviews on the net about how exactly Custokebon Secrets will help you lost a lot of fat. Has any one tried this popular weight loss methods?
Thank you for this. It is very hard over 40 to loose weight. Change habits….. get moving!!! Needed to hear this. StAy blessed and safe!!!
Another great video. I make my own cold drip coffee ( less caffeine with no acid ) with honey and coconut added.
this is exactly true…i wish everyone should go through this video to know the actual facts why loosing weight after 40 is tough. i will definitely pass on this information.
Your videos have really been helping my dad lose weight. I think he’s already doing most of these steps except for the supplements, so I’m gonna look into getting him to start that too. Thanks so much for helping him.
Lee this is golden. I am consistently dropping the ball in one of these areas probably everyday. I’m going to commit to these 3 simple principles and see if I can make real progress and change. Your info is so very helpful. I like how you boil the fat out and get to the meat of the topic!! Love these vids! ❤️
HELL YEAH LEE YOU TELL IT LIKE IT IS!!!!!!!! WHAT A DAMN GREAT WAKE UP CALL. YOU’RE THE BEST
I need you to be my best friend! So hard to find people my age who get it!!!❤ love this….
When the first thing you say is ive helped over 400000 people i immediately call bullsh”t.
I love your videos because you get straight to the point. And the information is very helpful. Thank you because I’m struggling to lose weight
I am RIGHT HERE. I’m 51 and it was just NEVER this hard to lose weight. Not only that, this belly fat is stubborn AF now. At the weight I am now, my body was different back in the day. The struggle is real; this is helpful.
This video is so good. i have a weight loss journey of my own and i have kept the weight off for 5 years now and i feel better now then i have ever felt. i feel young again. @t
Diet is impossible for me seems like i have to have soda and junk even when i wake up im 41 been that way my whole life but i still like exercising its the easy part for me
Really awesome video. I’ve just hit 40 and like rocketed from 78kg to 83kg in like 3weeks! I want to hit my runs again without the injury risk. This will help me kickstart
Iam just subscribed to your channel because you’ve hit the nail on the head for me.. I have been struggling for a while and I need this truth. I am with you, let’s do it!!
I didn’t hear anything here honestly , please next time go straight to the point. Not Adam and Eve etccc,
Great video I like this and I try this formula. In this video peoples can lose weight fast yourself easily. Thanks for sharing this information. So I am try this method. Thanks
Unfortunately If I’m not mistaken, a high protein diet slows your metabolism…. which makes it harder to burn fat….
My metabolism packed up and left. My wt came in when I moved next to popeyes, the pizza shop and Mc donald. It’s either I move or get a backbone.
So glad you mentioned exercise EVERY DAY. I’m 27 and even now I find it hard to stay lean without exercise every day.
This is great. I love all these tips. I’m gonna really try to drink more water and get more sleep
I think this guy is real professional. Thanks for detailed instruction.
SLEEP… my big issue. Usually go to bed around 1030, up at 415 to workout…. I’ve been doing that since about March. But im not making any progress. Just wondering, what are your thoughts on intermittent fasting?
I put my email in to get the one day diet… but I didn’t get it.
great video, helpful program i will try it,Thanks so much for sharing
if you are eating every 4 hours but your body enters starvation mode in 3 hours and starts producing fat how does your plan work???
with creatine i drink about 4-6 l water a day, I mean creatine makes my body crave water sooooo hard it’s insane.
Great tips! The peri-menopause weight gain is real. The diet and exercise that worked before doesn’t hit the same way at 48 as it did even at 45. I’m trying to focus on the process and not the number on the scale.
BEING OVER WEIGHT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR AGE.. BEING OVER WEIGHT OR UNHEALTHY KNOWS NO NUMBERS.
Another Fit Father video, another view. It’s clear you put a lot of work into these!
Caffeine isn’t good for your bone strength that’s vital, I wouldn5 use caffeine use hot peppers in your food instead
is there such a thing as water weight. i literally train hard tbh and i drink about an extra 1 and half pints of water at the gym. i am losing fat but for the amount of training i,m doing its not coming off quick enough tbh. its that last bit of stubbon fat on the belly what i want gone. i think looking at pics of other mens fat% i,m roughly on about 16% body fat but want to reach 12% by summer time in 10 weeks. my diet is fine also.
I am 5’9 181 pounds, I really need to lose some weight (I don’t care how long it takes, just as long as it works). I get loads of exercise (insane amount, I’m in JROTC Raiders) but have seen no improvements (have actually gained weight). I would love to have some real advice that will actually help lose weight, thank you guys.
Men can get a lot of help by watching these videos. People need to get enough sleep. I sleep about 8 hours now. More water is healthier too. Your videos is very helpful to people.
Got out of shape that last few year. I was in my best shape back in 2013 and I was a part of your monthly class. Getting back to the groove of things thanks you for all the tips. I’m not 40 plus but I’m 30
great advice and so true that it gets harder to stay in shape as you get older. I am so glad ou mentioned building muscle as that has helped my metabolism so much. Women can be afraid to lift weights but we have lost muscle because of our hormones so its good to put the muscle back on
What is working for me is this: I substituted all bread, pasta, rice, sweets, and potatoes for pumpkin. It goes with all my meals, just a little to give me that feeling of ahhhh. Next will be substituting it for zucchini…not yet. I can’t cut cold turkey. I need a slow transitioning. I walk fast until I sweat and stop at the kids’ swings to do some pushups, squats, and lunges and walk back. Sometimes I take the bands and hook them on the bench. The kids gym is awesome to exercise and nobody is there at 7 in the morning. Sometimes I go to the gym to do the elliptical for 30 min. I get bored with machines and that is a problem. I don’t aim at losing fat or exercising, though I need to. I want to start to create a habit. Later I would finetune until I am on autopilot. Hopefully, it’ll work…
Dr. Balduzzi you are killing it with your videos, been watching from the beginning. Putting some great information out there. I am an experienced lifter in great shape but watch your videos to continue my education as preventative maintenance as I get older and everything you are saying is spot on. A+
This applies to almost all age groups.
Maybe not teens, but they’re the the exception.
I work both nights and days. 2 weeks nights, 2 weeks days, and the cycle continues. 12 hour shifts. My sleeping habits are trashed.
This video about weight lose was great! I learned a lot new things and definitely recommend checking it out.
These seem like some good steps to take, thanks for sharing this.
Hello. Thank you for sharing! I needed to listen to this today also. I will be 50 in June, I am an emotional eater and I need to get my health in order. It’s not only about turning 50, its about the days, weeks, months and years after
Girl I’m 45 and the struggle IS real!! I love my adult cocktail of diet coke and Henny after work with the hubby♀️ Bad habit number one! I’m restarting my journey
Great information to clarify the basics. Once we have the proper tools we have the best chance for rapid weight loss.
Thanks man!.Your videos are really helpful..keep up the good work.
sleep is very important. for men is the best moment that we produce testosterona
Thank you for this great video! My husband has been trying to lose weight for a while but with no results yet. He’s definitely guilty of some of the things Dr. B mentioned like not getting enough sleep and binge eating on the weekends. I’m going to show this to him as he’ll find it very helpful. Anything to get over that weight loss plateau will be great! thx!!
I’ve had a complete hysterectomy, crave bad food, not sleeping well, any suggestions 62 years old
First of all. Girl. Your over 40! Hell naw! Baybee that black don’t crack!
Just another great video by the best channel on youtube when it comes to exercises tips. Keep them coming.
Coffee bollocks what about those many older guys who have too much cortisol in their bodies….quiting coffee would be a perfect solution not suppressing your appetite and drinking coffee stimulating your adrenal glands not being able to sleep properly etc etc and yes its a fact very few actually give up coffee to check the difference in how they feel…..DO IT! it willl be a big difference………the rest is fine.
You’re one of my role models, I’ll be 40 in March, always inspiring watching your videos
I totally agree and subscribe to your 6 steps. They are undoubtedly the foundation of fitness. However the whole concept of losing weight quickly is troubling. You touched on this in the opening. Focus on achieving those 6 steps and you’ll be fine. Oh! Step #7. Stay away from the scale for the first month or so. Let your clothes tell you what’s happening to your body. They’ll know before the scale.
Most “lose weight fast” tips are bullshit but there is a right way to do it, just be careful!
wow this is really amazing weight loss for men fast. i wish everyone should go through this. thanks for sharing nice information.
Great video!! This was so detailed and had tons of great tips! I’m going to send it to my Dad, he’s been trying to lose weight for a while but with no luck. He tries all kinds of fad diets which don’t work then gets frustrated and gives up. Losing weight at any age is always difficult but even harder over 40! The good thing is that your weight loss plan makes sense and is focused on healthy, long-term results. thanks!
Losing weight is so hard. I’m glad I found this video. This gives me hope.
I seriously needed this and listened to you the entire time. I’m in my thirties with 2 children, and have been yoyo dieting my entire life. I want to become more fit and balanced with a comfortable weight.
Thank you! Loved the advice, especially the writing of habits! Are the wooden bars for resistance bands?
Hi..most of the exerciseres you suggest are things i can no longer do..dead lifts,squats…..what can i do instead….
Nice video. i enjoyed this video all situations. this will make more fun. thank you for sharing.
I’m 1.82 cm height and 90 kg weight, no gym. What do you suggest?
You are so right about the age, metabolism, sugar addiction and portion control! I’m 52 and have been heavy my entire life! Motivation is not the move, #habitswork! Thank you for sharing!
O.k I’m not a father and I’m 36…..can I still be a part of this lol
I am doing all three. But I exercise every other day. Need to stick and do it every day . Yes. Have to be a life style from now on
This video is so good. i have a weight loss journey of my own and i have kept the weight off for 5 years now and i feel better now then i have ever felt. i feel young again. @t
This info really helped me, i am going to put in the effort to get things started. Thanks so much.
Am a fan but i need to give you my feedvack.i think you will gain by reviewing the videos format. After a few videos the monologue is so boring.
My problem is not losing weight but gaining mass. I need a good diet with balance for protein and carbs to maximize mass gains versus fat.
Thank you for making this video. It has really jumpstarted my weight loss. I thought it would be so much harder since I’m 48.
Excellent Video! Who Could Dislike! All True! Thanks Keep Up Good Work!
Great info here. I know it can be rough to shed pounds as we get older when our metabolism slows down.
Another informative and helpful video about 4 keys of weight lose. Your video is really helpful. Thanks for your easy clarification.
Great tips and video… Taking all this in and feeling inspired!!
I agree that sleep should be in the number one spot. Sleep is critical to regulating hormone levels, repairing muscle damage from weight lifting, etc.
Yes, I too am guilty of jumping from weight loss plan to others as well, I do believe that I must have tested every weight loss method that was available, however in the end not one of them helped me to reduce and maintain the weight off. I ended up trying for the very last time with the Custokebon Secrets simply because my cousin who told me awesome things about it and so far to date I’ve successfully dropped 16 lbs in 4 weeks!
Some great scientific information given on weight loss for men, which is of rare occurrence. Thanks a lot Dr. Balduzzi.
This instruction cause real results. some of them I have tried.
MORE sleep. I’d like some of that myself. Seriously can’t wait til you guys start the women’s training. I do know the drinking more water thing works! It’s healthier too.
Great video about how to lose weight fast. I think your Six steps is really effective to lose weight. I will try follow your steps. Thanks for sharing guys.
Hey my friend thanks for the info… keep it coming, I like how you are helping us newbies out!
My friend has been struggling to lose weight. He’s dieting properly but I think he’s missing your other 3 keys. I don’t think he’s doing any HIIT cardio and strength training and I know for sure his sleep schedule is messed up. Definitely gonna share your video with him, thanks Doc.
DR A. Please please help.
Im 41 and in the worst shape I’ve ever been in all my life. I lost the 2 woman i love most in all my life last year and sunk into the deepest dark place that i can’t get out of without some help.
I was in great physical shape. Was a sgt in the army. I guess i do know what i have to do ultimately but i literally lost 100 percent motivation for life. Just getting to the gym is a workout. I know this sounds like excuses but it’s my reality. I’m now 187 and say 9 pounds of belly fat on a skinny guy. It’s pudge for sure.
What can i do to first boost my mood and brain function. How can i higher my testosterone naturally as im not even getting morning wood these days, Scary stuff. So lose belly fat while getting swoll and can’t do dead lifts as i have a torn nerve at the bottom of my spine. I can’t sit on a hard chair or bike without feeling a sting in my lower spine.
Any suggestions on smoothies? Thanks Doc A in advance or anyone else who can help motivate me. Looking for particular supplements that will help me for sure and not ineffective supplements.
I would love to hear you talk about OMAD or intermittant fasting!
Looks like the same weather we’re having in southern Alberta! Just got my daily “shoveling the walks” exercise. LOL It would be awesome to have a real pro like you on anyone’s health team. People need to realize they need more than just health care professionals on their “team”. My wife is a chiropractor and she sees the huge difference between folks that take responsibility and proactive care of their well-being vs those who blame everyone and everything else for their poor condition. Keep up the good work!
Lee it can’t ve said any better than what you said. Wow straight forward no bs. That’s exactly what people need to hear. I appreciate the honesty and at the same time you offer help to succeed. Thanks
Anthony you are just making us amazed. It’s another helpful tips for a man.
This was right on time. Im 40ish and ive been trying change my habits as you state. I have no excuses. I used to say its hard because i shop for my children and i kept snacks (suga)for them but they are now eatting what I eat instead of the other way around. This portion control thing is what im having is hard for me but im on my way to ur portion control video. You were right on time for me.
Great method of lose weight and It’s amazing formula. So I like this very much. This method is useful for us and successful of lose weight for me. Thanks for sharing this information.
Diet, diet, diet and diet; speaking from personal experience. Napoleon said the morale is to the physical as six is to one; I say diet is to exercise as six is to one. Ha!
The natural ingredients of this>> Hit.Secured.Kim is very helpful to lose weight. My granny using this and she got outstanding result.
das ist toll
Thank you for this video and information. Even though I have heard this before, hearing it with you makes it more Real. I’m 56, fighting cancer and other health issues. The recent big weight gain from different medications and Life, has been difficult. Thanks again.
Very helpful in balancing my weight loss program. So many factors involved and this clarifies them.
I was very fit during my13+ years in the military. I was wounded in 04 since then I’ve become lazy as out of shape. My back, left shoulder and right ankle were damaged. I’ve joined a health and wellness program through the VA. For those not injured I can see how it works. But not for me it’s hard to get a program that works. I’m on a disability so most programs are just too expensive. Got suggestions on a person like me?
Great information as usual, it’s nice to see this channel growing at a fairly quick pace.
Thankyou so much for this. You kept it real and layed out a foundation on how to get started on a weightloss journey. Everything you said was accurate you are an angel I really needed this. Stay Blessed sis and Thanks a million times again.
This video is so good. i have a weight loss journey of my own and i have kept the weight off for 5 years now and i feel better now then i have ever felt. i feel young again. shorturl.at/eimMW
Thanks for the information. The age thing is Definitely against me
Thank you for referencing that some of us have health issues or things that make it harder for some of us. I am living with Rheumatoid arthritis, cfs, fibro, several ruptured discs in my neck and back and way more. It is so hard to find anyone that can relate to living in pain 24/7 and yet trying to lose weight.
I really needed such information, this will help me a lot. Thanks for sharing this information.
Great tips and true. Can I walk everyday, hills, etc? I should probably incorporate weight training for lean muscle and fat loss, and how often should I eat? I’m working on cutting out red meat, and pork, and everything white. Any extra tips. I’d like to lose 15 lbs and make that my lifestyle weight.
Im 44, 3 kids, Hatchimotos, so its so hard. Thanks
Yeah I agree with you man, sleep is the biggest one. I noticed as I age I am not getting as much sleep as I used to and I know this is messing with my hormones and such….
Number 3 is where i fail and need to change I am 50 next year and need to grow up and take stock of my health, thanks for the kick in the back side buddy.
I am completely agree with your 4 keys to maintain weight. I will follow these program as well as recommend to others.
i’m glad i found you i’m in my fifties and I been struggling for years it’s just getting harder I just want to get under 200 mark I been there a long time tired of carrying this weight I had people say I carry it well but I am not a good weight i’m pretty healthy but I do have stress and don’t sleep well I am starting to cook more and I walk 5 or 6 times a week but I have a bad habit of skipping meals i’m just not hungry but I gain weight because of it cause I love to workout and i’m feeling heavy
Good video. A lot of truth here. Don’t listen to the nay sayers. I already do a lot of this and know for a fact that it works. It’s awesome to hear confirmation on the things I THINK are right and working for me. As others have said sleep is a huge one!
Very informative and valuable information about weight loss!!
not a father but this information can benefit anyone, really.
I’ll be eating oatmeal every morning for the rest of my life
Thanks for all the pointers, I’ve been trying to get in shape for the last 5 years and I never got any satisfying results.
Man, this is another masterpiece from you. Thanks for sharing this.
I like your message that to be in shape, it’s a lifestyle change, balance and patience. Enjoy the process, instead of focusing on a “finish line”, because there will never be a “finish line”, if you want to stay in shape. Great motivating and instructive video!
want to lose weight without hassle…take out from your diet all products with yeast like bread, picas and other pastries plus take out sugar as well, don’t eat pies, chocolate, sweets, cookies and other stuff, replace with agave syrup and honey…I went from 95kg to 80kg like that without exercising at all…
This is such an informative video. I hit forty and have have had all sorts of trouble losing weight.
Okay Lee how hard did you Laugh after the client mentioned that they ate Oatmeal cookies for breakfast?

This video about why men can’t lose weight was great! I learned a lot new things and definitely recommend checking it out.
I’ll be 40 next month and I’ve never had to work so hard to take off the weight in my life. My metabolism has hit the wall. And thanks to the quarantine I can’t just get fat burning shots and pills and run in and out of gyms. Didn’t think about how much stress and lack of sleep are hurting me. So glad I discovered your channel. Thank you for the info…
Your enthusiasm is inspired and shows plain and simple truth. I was on a perfect track to my own goal but was smashed down with a spinal injury and have spent 5 subsequent years ‘fudging’ my way through. I think you’ve just convinced me to sort it out. It isn’t hard to do if your committed. Love your videos and dedication Adrian from uk.
Totally my problem. I haven’t committed to any of the threes. thanks bro.
Your story about the oatmeal and cookies reminds me of a friend who tried to justify including fat in his diet by eating chocolate eclairs. “We need the fat from the cream”. “Chocolate is an anti-oxidant”. Six eclairs later… yeah, right. LOL Good advice, thanks.
