A Caesar dressing would be awesome….I love your show but just to let you know your videos just started showing up in searches that have been going on for three years……
Hello, would you be able to make a vegan SOS-free version of Kewpie Roasted Sesame Dressing, or do you have one already?
Ingredients: https://www.kewpieshop.com/products/kewpie-deep-roasted-sesame-dressing-8oz
me n my friend Sharon Beaver had sum chicken tenders with this nd it was so lovely x
My only comment, is that it took so long to get to the recipe. First the opening, then you make a salad, then the selling of your classes, and then an educational video on hemp. I really just wanted to see the dressing. Which I will try. Thanks.
Sorry for the feedback. Just sharing my feelings. It just felt so long. Best wishes.
How much hemp seeds and dill relish? Cant find the recipe in the link
Great video, I really enjoyed listening to you describing the history of Thousand Island Dressing and I also learned the recipe at the same time. Really fun! I grew up with this dressing in the 60’s. Thank you for your video.
Wonderful! So glad I clicked you on. The background music is gone and I can hear you!! I love this Jill. Beautiful girl. Thank you xo
This came out delicious…since I didn’t have hemp in the house I used cashews. Thanks Jill.
I am new to your youtube page and I am loving it; just subscribed. Please give us a Caesar Salad Dressing and perhaps a lighter, not-to-acidic, vinaigrette type dressing.
I would like to see a Miso dressing with a touch of sweetness.
Thanks Jill for another great recipe. How do you make dill relish? I’m in Australia and haven’t come across dill relish in the shop before. Perhaps I can make my own?
He said “Throw this in the refrigerator” no no no he needs to say “Put this in the refrigerator””
Do you make your own Dill relish? I can’t find this in the UK.
You buy me, in this video, on the first minute, with this “we not using”… Great channel and recipes! Thank You very much.
Hi, I see the Bragg’s liquid aminos on the counter but I didn’t see you add it. Is it supposed to be used in this recipe? Also, could I sub a date for the raisins? I made the recipe but felt it needed a bit of salt and thought maybe the bragg’s would do that. Thanks
If you like smoked black pepper, you are going to love smoked paprika! Try it, if you haven’t already. Thousand island is my all time favourite sauce, thank you for this healthy alternative!
dill relish??? never heard of it….where or how to make it….
I usually make this using sugar free chopped gherkins so I decided to try yours with the dill relish and I absolutely loved it! Thanks again for another great recipe!
Loved hearing about the history of this recipe. I hope Sophia got some money for the deal like the Ranch guys did!
A Greek salad dressing or even just a Caesar dressing would be awesome. Thanks so much for all the amazing recipes!
Ooo thanks for this recipe.
I usually eat my veggies with my countrys steamed shredded coconut recipe to avoid salad dressing.
But this is simple enough
Loving this series! Curious where you find unsweetened raisins at? Thank you!!!
You are such a great teacher. Thank you for your time and dedication.
Hi and thank you for all the recipes you share with us. I would like to know what to use instead of sugare for making home made relish! I live Outside US and can`t find helthy relish! Thank you.
Green Goddess as well as hot bacon dressings. The thousand Island without the mayo and ketchup is one I will try since my husband isn’t supposed to have either of those ingredients due to CKD stage3. He is improving in health and I don’t want to chance using things that he is not suppose to have…..but this might just be the ticket. Thanks for sharing!
Taco dressing and the big hit over here (U.K) at the moment South West Sauce. Yeah. Love the show. Keep up the awesome work.
What a beautiful salad. Thanks so much for the dressing info.
My daughter loves French dressing so i would love to make her one with mo oil..
Hi JIll could i replace the oats for steel cut oats for this salad dressing?
I made the ranch dressing it was awesome can’t wait to try this one this week. I would like to see a Remoulade sauce being in the south i really like it on my salads also. Thanks
WowMmmmm Mmmmmmm. Thank you for this Wonderful Recipe. I bet it would be great on a plant base burger too. Have your own Big Mac at home. Love Tamson
I eat ridiculously healthy. Don’t smoke. Rarely drink wine. Make my own sprouts. But I have 2 vices in life…..Miracle Whip and Heinz Ketchup. Gotta have them.
That said…this recipe looks good!
I love this series, but I’m curious, when creating these dressings, do you compare the taste with a store-bought version to get the taste as close as possible? My vote for the next dressing is French dressing. Thanks.
Thanks! I can’t wait to try this! I would also love to see a vegan blue cheeze, French, or Asian with ginger.:)
Thank you! This is so good!! Keep the recipes coming, please. I would love to see a WFPB recipe for Caesar Dressing.
Could the hemp and seeds be replaced with cashews if I’m not nut free?
Why is there so much difference in thousand island dressing… i mean i have seen many videos and none of them matches
I was born way after the food you make (DOB 1980 in another country) and I love to see your channel. I get to see this recipes created live and learn about their history. Recipes I have enjoyed while living in the USA.
I’m looking for a good Caesar salad dressing. That would be awesome!
I am allergic to blue cheese so I would LOVE a blue cheese salad dressing substitute. Also a Caesar would just be fantastic!
Thanks for these salad dressing series. I am allergic to tomatoes but I could use Beet Ketchup, which is similar to normal ketchup, just a bit sweeter and with a red beets kinda taste. How much should I use, also a Tbsp more or less? I mean, I could try and find out for myself . But I am European and do not know what this salad dressing should taste like…thanks
You make me hungry…
Iam sure is delishhhhhh
Thank you for this wonderful recipe.
blue cheese pretty please be the bees knees with blue cheese
Would love to see French dressing and honey mustard. Love your videos. Thank you.
Is it true you’re married to the guy from “well your world”? That’s so sweet! Mazel tov you two!
another awesome vid! I would love to see WFPB knock offs for honey mustard & a Paul Newman Italian Dressing:D
Wow sooo simple! Can’t wait to try it…I just found your channel, looking forward to seeing your other recipes
A spicy Thai peanut dressing please! Love your content! Definitely appreciate the dressing series!
Too much fat for me with all those seeds. Why can’t I find a good fat-free thousand island?
I know you don’t pick the ads?? It was for butcher box this time? Funny ad to run before a vegan program. I think they need to revisit the algorithm that generates ads for what programs. Not a good sale demographic.
If you’re into honey mustard, which is my favorite it’s another easy one. Dijon and regular mustard, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, salt, pepper, sugar substitute optional
She kept saying that the salad was made how her husband likes it, but then she went ahead and ate it at the end. I think it was really for her. To be honest, it looked very delicious!
If I don’t add the tomato paste and raisins do I have mayonaise?
One thing I can’t find on YouTube is making a Cajun-nays I guess it’s like thousand with spicy ness to it.
Fully stoked your now doing salads! Salads are my favourite. So more salad stuff please Jill! ☺️
just tried this. didnt quite taste like Thousand Island dressing in my opinion but was certainly DELICIOUS. i kinda prefer it. not that i even remember what a Big Mac tastes like though. so forget eveyrthing i said except the delicious part.
I grew up making mayo and ketchup dressing. When I got older, I added grated onion and sweet relish with touch of vinegar. It was delicious! Lately, I used vegan mayo with organic ketchup. So, so glad I’ve found an oil-free recipe. Thank you so much!!
Please read audio books. You’d be awesome reading western books.
Hug to hug guys s legit lang comment done kau pagkatpos pra mback q agad di po kc minsn nkkta kung cnu ngsub.
Italian dressing would be nice for a video. They tend to be so oily and would love an alternative:) great video
I use the same ingredients but add garlic power and don’t use relish or fresh onion but onion powder. I kick it up with some cayenne pepper though spicy thousand island dressing STID. It’ll kick ass on a salad, burger or even a steak.
that is a lot of onion but thats what im using
*drops half of it
Could you add dill relish to the list too? We can’t buy it here!
Thank you! I love Thousand Island dressing! I noticed in some vegan dressing recipes they use mashed up potato for a thickener. Do you think I could substitute a potato for the oats? Thanks again.
I think it’s ironic and a shame that your wonderful plant-based Youtube channel has ads for pastrami and hamburger and fast-food franchises. I sat here through your dressing conversion and had to watch 3 ads that sponsored carcinogenic meats. I appreciate your channel, you have a pleasant presentation and explanation for why you do it. Thank you.
Question what other types of ketchup is there, early on there were a variety of ketchups,Rassberry, strawberry etc, tomato won out used on ship board I found a variety of recipes in an ”Old Time Recipes” book
Who’s here because they forget to order some with their burger and they can’t eat it without the dressing.
A world class chef once said “If you want to ruin anything, add some chopped raw onion.”
and now I’m hungry. great work I loved it; Please keep them coming!
I made this myself and it looked a thoasand (island) times more appetising ;P xx (PS my girlfriend just left me and took our son, I have never felt this alone before in my 47 years on this cold lonely planet.) PPS cardi b and her ilk are shite and modern music is pathetic. REO SPEEDWAGON 4EVA (I also enjoy brian adams and I’m very anal about my organisational skills in my profession as a kite designer) I hate Martin Luther King Jr, but not as much as the OG Martin Luther, I am a proud and noble catholic boy-soldier from Autro-Hungary xx =) PPPS I’m extremely into roller-chasing, where you put on roller skates and chase stray dogs about the cul-de-sac
For your question about ketchup there is another one banana ketchup
Wow! This comes in handy, can you do blue cheese dresses! I noticed your hair is growing so long, I can’t wait until I become plantbase.❤️❤️I have type2 diabetes and high blood pressure, I have to get rid of it!

I just made this so easy and delicious! Thank you so much I love your channel!
I made this last night let it sit overnight and had it with my salad today and it was delicious. Thanks!
In the philippines we have banana ketsup. It’s a plantain variety.
Hopefully you are still answering questions on your videos. I make MANY of your sauces but don’t want to chance then going bad and consuming them. Would rather make them on a rotation than as needed. I like to premake things. So for this thousand island dressing, the teriyaki, the French dressing, the ranch, the BBQ? Those were the main ones. I noticed that none of you videos or your cookbook show recommended shelf life. I would LOVE if you could address that real quick for me. I know you don’t know for certain but from experience how long would you say is safe before you would say they should be made again? THANKS AGAIN!!
I did this thousand island dressing and it was excellent. I didn’t have relish or onion powder, so I just chopped up some dill pickle and onions and added them in. It worked!
WHOA best channel. Thank you for the concise to the point videos
If it’s available in your area, I highly recommend Duke’s mayonnaise. Not only is it delicious, but it’s the only major brand that has no sugar.
If we are gonna be maming lots to store for a couple of days, how long can it last?
Just finished making sugar free ketchup so I can make this for my leftover corned beef!!!!!!!! Thank you Papa G!!!!! Love your channel!

i started my eating show because i always get so tempted watching cooking show, this is so interesting. hahahaha
Great job Jill I was born in the 80s, but I’d still like to make a request! Anything authentic from a 1950s diner burger, hot dog, milkshake all good
I don’t know why it took me sooooooooo long to make this!! It’s better than I imagined! I have the rye bread in the oven too! I couldn’t find corn beef in the deli, got the next best thing, pastrami. So excited to be making some sandwiches!
Yasss! Finally! Can’t wait to make this its look like delicious ❤️ thx for sharing
What is nutritionsl comp? I looked on website at recipe, not there. Thank you.
Can’t wait to try this! Thousand Island was my favorite dressing before adopting a vegan lifestyle; and yes it was the ketchup and mayo kind! I would love to see a video for a sesame miso dressing! Jenny Song makes a yummy store-bought one but an oil-free version would be amazing
My all-time fav dressing. LOVE the concept of your channel-I love the history of foods and stories surrounding vintage recipes. I grew up in the 70s/80s and I still have all of my mom’s original family recipes. I made homemade sourdough cinnamon rolls today from her potato starter/sourdough bread recipe. Brings back so many memories. And I’m passing the recipes (and a handmade family cook book) on to my daughter, who just graduated from college.
I’m with your husband. I like lots of stuff on my salads. I’m not a fan of raisins, but I like dried cranberries.
I grew up in the Thousand Islands, I love the dressing. I made this dressing in resorts there and I can tell you that this is not Thousand Island Dressing, It is Russian dressing the ketchup is the give away. We would never put ketchup in the dressing we used chili sauce. Some people also added capers with the relish. There is controversy over the actual story of the dressing and it differs between towns on the St. Lawrence River.
This is such a wonderful recipes. Who knew it had such a fun history! Thank you for sharing! I have a question. How long will this dressing last? How many days ahead can I make this?
I love Thousand Island dressing!!❤️ This dressing is amazing. I made it twice. The second time I added a few things, & it made it over the top for us. I added 1 tbsp minced garlic, 1 tsp onion powder & 2 tbsp of chives. I then added 1/2 cup dill relish also. It was so good. Thanks for sharing the story & recipe. This dressing was a must in our home growing up.
Would you do a video on green goddess dressing? It’s impossible to find. I remember eating it as a kid in the 70’s:)
I remember Chocolate Pudding Cake and Lemon Pudding Cake. Would love the recipes!
Hey!!..awsome and thanks…could you please write for me the ingredient just after the lemon juice:) thanks!
I’m loving these dressings. But I do have one tiny issue with them. I don’t respond well to oats. Is there another base you use? Also, could you do a Russian dressing please.
Ok, so I made this today….. I think for me, the sunflower seeds will have to be replaced with something else. It’s just something about sunflower seeds that I am not the biggest fan of. Maybe I’ll try walnuts. And I did add some salt, nutritional yeast, and some ketchup as well. Overall a very good recipe!
@Calady11 I accidentally deleted your AWESOME post!!! I am so sorry, I tried so hard to undo it and couldn’t. It meant the world to me!! So I am pinning my gratitude and apology here. Here is some of what I could capture….calady11 commented: “Hi, I love your recipe for Thousand Island dressing! As a child growing up in the 50’s I remember my mother making something for dinner called: Italian Delight (it had ground beef, macaroni noo…”
Thank you and please join me again, I will make sure to be extra careful!!
Typical, to not give the woman the credit for one of the best dressings in the world. I think you got carried away when you were talking. It was more like Thousand Islands with a little salad. LOL. Look forward to more recipes!
Did you know the story behind this beloved dressing? This original recipe is so easy to make and so yummy!!!
Great video! Who knew that Sophia’s dressing would become so well-known!
In terms of the video, you did a very good job of picking good points to pause the recipe and give the background history. You also had the perfect mix of far away and closeup shots. Well done!
My favorite dressing! I love that it’s an American recipe I never knew!
never had any idea there was such a long and fun history behind my favorite dressing. Thanks and looking forward to hearing more!
hello! what do you call the first ingredient you put? the green one?
Thank you for this recipe. It is amazing and Keto approved!! It taste sooooooooo good!!!
But I’m not Dr. Chill…… Chef….. He was able to make a 1000 island sauce from the box of scraps…. In his own norm kitchen….
4g carbs per 2 tbs (just calculated it out). That’s no different than most store bought thousand islands. haha. It does have Lower sugar. That’s something i suppose.
Yes I put about 3 eggs in my dressing. Never used shallots or acv. Must try.
