What’s the point of using nutritional yeast? I mean i general not particular in this recipe

For my daughters birthday, I made 4 different raw desserts for her & my other kids &. extended family to try out. The tirimisu, lime cheesecake, no bake chocolate fudge ( my favorite) & the Peanut butter & jam cookies. They are all really good. We are used to eating very healthy but I like the no baking factor. Healthier & so much faster to prepare. I’ve also made the Mac & cheese, & the muffin tops( really good) You can imagine the huge mound of dishes on my counter lately. Thank you. Since I have been fasting and in prayer (here in Puerto Rico the Holly week is very important for us and as a sacrifice we don’t eat meat today which is Good Friday) with fruits this vegies Holly week. Today I will eat this again with some asparrragus, tomatoes and two “tostones” (fried green plantain) on the side. What can I say as a puertorrican need to have my plantain. I made the vegan version (no chicken). The coconut milk started to turn clear after heating the pan and mine wasn’t as thick. My coconut milk was from a carton, not a can. Mine turned out more like a clear broth. Immediately after adding the stock and coconut milk, pour it over the pasta and don’t reheat the pan.
That looks amazing! However, if you want a high-end, bistro-styled Alfredo sauce, I suppose you could use white wine instead of lemon juice, or you could make in into a mushroom Alfredo sauce, by adding mushrooms sautéed in white wine, and skip the lemon juice. What do you think? 😉

I made this and it was really good! The sauce was not white though and it tastes of chicken broth and garlic and strongly of pepper. Not the same as Alfredo but if you don’t expect Alfredo it is a really good pasta dish and no one would guess!!

Sooo this right here is the bombI just finished making it not too long ago. I’m just waiting for the fam to be settled so we can dig in but like I’m in love with this sauce . I did change it up a bit yk. For the sauce itself It’s the same as her’s with the addition of the pasta water (for that flavor and extra thickness) and coconut milk because I was getting too much cashew flavor. I didn’t have any nutritional yeast on hand so that could have been also why. OhI also added cauliflower for an extra boost of creaminess and vegetables! As to mixing both pasta and sauce I made a sofrito first. Meaning i started with a base of green onions, mushrooms, and ginger with olive oil and waited for each to become tender before adding in the next. I sprinkled some Italian seasoning I had and then included the sauce. Giving it a while to soak up the extra flavor before mixing it with the pasta. At the end I ended up with dinner for like 4 nights and a favorite recipe ♀️✨

I sometimes make creamy sauce by using gram flour with garlic, soy milk and some tomato paste. It is rich and creamy, tasty and healthy and not very calorific. I sometimes add mushrooms with it.

hmm if you are roasting the garlic in the oven why not roast the cauliflower also? or steam the cauli to not pour nutrients down the drain. but with those modifications I will for sure be trying this recipe. I keep roasted garlic in the fridge all the time done in the insta pot. much quicker this does look amazing

DO NOT EAT CAULIFLOWER! it has no carbon! thats why it is white. It will rob you of your minerals. So does soy. If you eat either one of these substances, you will have your vitamins and minerals stolen from you. But if you’re all for having mineral deficiencies, then go crazy on it. But if you care about your health, do not eat either of these under any circumstance!

We can sub the pasta for zoodles/zucchini noodles too! Tastes VERY similar. A cup of pasta is like 220-300 calories, with 40+ grams of carbs, whereas a cup of zoodles in just 18 calories with 4 grams of carb!

My recipe:
Unsweetened plain Almond milk.nutritional yeast(optional).Vegan Butter(completely optional). Seasoned salt. Noodles. Cook the noodles in just enough almond milk( adding the butter,noochand sea salt) to where it’s barely covering al of the noodles, and just wait until most of the liquid has been absorbed by the noodles and left the creamy stuff behind.

Why is the sound of that pasta and sauce bubbling so comforting? also, I made this sauce and it’s crazy how easy and delicious it is. The game changer for me as I don’t yet have a high speed blender was boiling the cashews as opposed to just soaking them. Rose for the win!!

I like making mine with cashew nut’s milk instead of coconut, because cashew nut has a special property that helps it emulsify by itself. This way I don’t need to use flour as a thickening agent and I can substitute the pasta for a gluten free one, making the dish completely gluten free. Also, cashew nut milk has a milder flavor compared to coconut milk, and if you use a bit of nutricional yeast instead of the chicken/vegetable stock, you can make it not only gluten free but also vegan.:) If anyone is interested and don’t know how to make cashew milk, I’ll be glad to help.
If you have a kettle you can also just pour boiling water over the cashews and let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes instead of boiling them.

U can also use a potato peeler and cut zucchini into strips to make it like nudles. It’s more raw, gluten free, and fiber. I also put the inner part into the sause, but I leaned that from raw Christina and the strips from Cara (Marcus and cars raw Vegan) anyways…I got question…. Does the cauliflower do anything for the taste of the sause? And also can u please make a raw vegan cheese cake shake?? I have tried! I mix cahshews,lemon juice,califlower, sweatner (maple syrup, suger ect) into vitamix with ice…but it’s a bit off. Some people say frozen bannas BUT it does not then taste like cheesecake what so ever.

Sorry but I really have to say it: I’m Italian and when you put the pasta in the water it wasn’t boiling and that’s terribly wrong. You have FIRST to put the salt THEN wait for the water to boil and FINALLY put the pasta

Made this today, but the flavor is not near to an alfredo sauce, I had to add one more tablespoon of nutritional yeast and 3 more garlic, it still had the almond milk after taste, added garlic powder and onion powder and a little bit of salt. Overall is an excellent alternative sauce for pasta very creamy and good, next time I will use the pasta water instead of the almond milk.
Im planning to eat more plant based and this looks so good. Definitely going to try this!!!

I made this recipe once or twice before with delicious results. But I don’t digest onions very well, so tonight I tried it using the Indian spice, Asafoetida. This spice tastes like a combination of garlic and onion. It worked really well in this recipe. Just thought you might want to know in case other people have issues with onions.
This is delicious, the second time I made this I added a teaspoon of white miso paste and some sauteed mushrooms-yum!

Out of all the vegan recipes I’ve tried over the years (I’m a vegetarian trying to go vegan), this is one of the few that has found its way into my rotation of staple recipes! Ok, here is an update to my question about the sunflower seeds, they work perfectly. I did soak them for a half hour before adding them into the sauce, but it all turned out incredible! I also added some dehydrated cherry tomatoes from my garden last year and it made the sauce even better. I also added mushrooms. To top it I soaked some soy curls in better than bouillon broth for 15 minutes and then drained them and pan fried them to brown them and added a little cumin and white pepper. It was a perfect chicken replacement.
I must eat this recipe three times a week. On cauliflower rice, better than noodles, or just assorted veggies. I soak my cashews in nut milk rather than water to skip a step & make it creamier. If I crush the nuts a bit first, it doesn’t need to soak as long. So this can be kind of last minute. Thanks Liv!
This is hands down the BEST vegan creamy pasta sauce! I sauté the minced garlic prior to adding it to the blender and it adds so much more flavor (you can also roast a bulb of garlic in the oven) I eat this all the time it’s soo good
The soy smell made me gag, but the taste was on point. I think next time I will have to put less tofu to mask the smell.

oh gosh, i made this but i added way too much pasta water and it ended up being really bland >< the sauce on its own was really good though! (because who doesnt try the sauce by itself?) ill definitely be attempting this again with less pasta water ofc
How did you get your sauce to not be a tan color? Mine came out tan instead of white like Alfredo, it still tasted amazing though. I added Cajun seasoning to make it a Cajun Alfredo dish.
I’ve tried several Alfredo recipes. This is by far THE BEST. Add some salt and pepper and you’re good to go. It’s really creamy and thick so it fills you up

When you are saying dairy free to you mean something vegan and that’s why you are using chicken!
Soy is one of the most dangerous substances that you can eat. This includes tofu, and anything else made from soy. It depletes your body of nutrients and causes a very long list of diseases. The most common being hyperthyroidism because soy is known to mess with your thyroid. I would personally know the side effects of Hyperthyroidism, i used to put soy on everything because i loved its flavor and then i got very sick after years of eating it constantly. I had deficiencies in pretty much everything you can think of as a vitamin or mineral and i got hyperthyroidism. Hyperthyroidism is an incurable disease that you’re supposed to have for the rest of your life from the time you get it. I however didnt believe in the pharmaceutical industry that kills 300,000 people every year. Where as illegal drugs like cocaine, heroin, meth, etc, only kill 30,000 yet pharmaceutical are legal and illegal drugs arent. Shows you just who is really lobbying. So i took to the natural route and looked for a natural cure and i found it. Just dont eat anything with soy, and eat a raw vegan diet and after 2 years i didnt have hyperthyroidism and my thyroid was perfectly fine. Im glad i didnt let me doctor trick me into getting my thyroid glad cut off like he told me i should do. Because i would have had to take medication for the rest of my life if i had done that. All this bullshit because of fucking soy sauce. Don’t eat this shit, its a fucking poison. Im trying to save you a life of misery and probably save your life because of all the other diseases soy causes. Including estrogen problems, and or estrogen related diseases, extreme bloating after soy, causing pain, new allergies you never had in your life, and the list goes on.. and on..

it goes into extreme detail about soy and just how harmful it is to your health and talks about the history of soy. Its an amazing book and if you’re looking for an in-depth book about the truth about soy, this is the best book on the topic. Soy is a billion dollar industry and theres lots of money invested to make sure that people dont spill the beans about what soy really is. Well Kaayla did. Delicious and so easy. I added about 1/2 the parm and it was plenty thick and flavorful enough. In lieu of milk, I used 1 TBS of homemade Creme Fraiche because I only drink almond milk with coconut, and that wouldn’t be the flavor profile I was going for. This method is a keeper! You can actually use hearts of palm to make the sauce in place of cashews it’s just as creamy and mild! But then maybe use a different type of pasta though…I didn’t even know hearts of palm pasta noodles existed!

This is a great high protein recipe, the only things I did differently was use more nutritional yeast (like a lot more) and almond milk instead of soy milk. I also added the onion powder along with the garlic powder and just garnished the whole thing with fresh parsley on top instead of using fresh basil or dried parsley.

What a genius combination of ingredients you put together. You’ve done it again, another must try. The only addition or change I’ll be making is to add green peas because when i made the traditional alfredo recipe years ago, i always put green peas into my sauce (it’s a thing, I know)
