You have such an ellegant, professional, intelligent and accurate way of expressing yourself dear Evita. It is a great joy to listen to your videos. You seem to have thought of every little detail and present everything wonderfully.:-) This refers to all your videos but also especially your recipe ones:-)
Doc McDougall at his best again. I love his way of telling how things are.:-) I also have his book “The starch solution”. It has become my bible in the past 2 years, while conquering rheumatoid arthritis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fG8zQvoXlhA&t=2s
what about non alcoholic fatty liver disease caused by fructose from sugar being metabolized by the liver into fat some staying in liver and the rest stored as visceral fat? i had a protruding stomach and obvious visceral fat..wasnt from eating animal products..i drank sodas daily ate cakes cookies candy ice cream..sugar the bitter truth by dr lustig..i mean if mcdougall says just dont eat animal food i will go back to eating sugar if he says its not a problem
I started eating potatoes to lose weight, I weighed 185 lbs. After 3 months eating a mostly potato diet I weighed 140 lbs, that’s a 25% weight loss. I’m still eating whole potatoes ( skin and all ) with every meal and I have not had the shits since I started eating potatoes, not once!. I used to have a probe shoved up my arse and polyps removed from my intestines on a regular basis, but since I started eating the starch based diet the “FIT ” tests results have come back as normal.
My health has improved no end, I am fit and slim. BEST OF ALL IT”S SO EASY.
PS, I’m not a vegan.
I don’t promote plant based all the way, but I do promote eating jasmine rice and cane sugar. Never have I gotten fat from that because since childhood I’ve always eaten it and was completely slim and healthy. I also don’t gain weight easily.
With the baby boomer generation in their 60’s now, the whole food plant based diet is going to experience huge growth. There will be a massive shift away from animal products. There is no other choice, our health and lives depend on it.
“Low” calorie doesn’t mean healthy!!! Don’t be suckered in lmao
This what too much fibre going thru your body all day does to you
In 3 weeks I’ve lost 7 pounds and dropped my A1C from 9.3 to 8.1 by eating a whole food plant based starch diet. I’m so happy this works because it’s so easy!
That’s a good explanation of our ability to live away from The Equator by eating starches
At 3:14 Brian says, “I love having these discussions but I also love challenging Dr Greger on some of his assumptions”. Brian, the weight of scientific consensus isn’t based on ‘assumptions’ it’s based on fact that’s stemmed from a wealth of studies conducted on the relationship between dietary choices and lifestyle diseases. Dr Greger PERFECTLY articulates this point at 13:58.
Honestly, I can’t fathom Brian’s arrogance and ignorance on a plant-based diet. He apparently went plant-based for a year. Since stopping that, he’s very combative with any lifelong health professionals who advocate for a plant-based diet based on a wealth of peer-reviewed scientific literature. Seems he didn’t want to stay plant-based and is now trying to refute doctor’s expert claims to feel better about his own decisions. He did that same thing with Dr Neal Barnard recently.
I’m trying to find somewhere on the internet the statement or the policy of the American Cancer society that he mentions which refers to a plant-based diet or a starch-based diet being recommended. Is there a link to that somewhere? I’d like to see that and refer to it and be able to tell others about it.
I’m bemused by the number of commentators who obviously have enormous respect for Dr Greger as do I and I do follow a fully unprocessed plant-based diet …. and yet despite his insistence on evidence-based research these guys are doctrinaire to the point where I think there is a level of demonization of interviewer, which serves no purpose whatsoever. My sis has a website and the minute one becomes at all well known one is an instant target for trollers, which is the downside of the internet. If you get really famous like Tom Petty George Harrison John Lennon someone will burn your house down, come after you in your own home with a knife, assassinate you, so cult of celebrity guys, you’re welcome to it.
If I may air my own prejudices as a Canadian who has lived in the UK for many yrs at a time; ask Stephen Fry or John Cleese about their impressions of the US and reluctant as they are to talk about it, it comes down to an inability to appreciate irony,a tendency to resort to ad hominem arguments (NOT limited to the US by any means) or enter into a debate, full stop, which I am vr mindful of. So there was no bear-baiting going on here; I really like intelligent podcasts and the best ones don’t limit themselves to preaching to the choir; in North America probably Joe Rogan has the widest audience; he hunts and fishes and has interviewed more vegan researchers than anybody; Rich Roll is comparatively new on the scene; his extreme fitness experience, 12 step recovery principles; being a refugee from Corporate Law (I know quite a few) etc. does guide him in his choice of people to interview, largely who have written books in his purview of interests, but he doesn’t at all rule out people whose ideas may conflict in part with his own and is an outspoken advocate for not clinging to one’s tribe as he puts it; got used to the California heh dude vocabulary, it’s all good. I have fond memories of the late Christopher Hitchens, the great contrarian; I disagreed with him on the subject of Iraq and other things; he just enjoyed the debate, although he was passionate about certain subjects, as one must be. So I think this is an excellent podcast and will continue to watch it and vr much profited from this discussion, and yes Michael Greger has an amazing sense of humour and both parties talk really fast which suits my personal style.
Dr McDougal please look at the pictures of the lab rats that have been fed GMO CORN. They are so deformed with tumors it is sickening. I do subscribe to your methods of nutrition however denying the dangers of GMO’s is irresponsible. It does not hurt but it helps your patient’s to eat organic NON-GMO food.
Yes the veggie burger they don’t bother to advertise it. But it comes in clutch as a vegetarian when you are out and aboot and starving. Get it without mayo
I agree with the enormous benefits of a plant based whole food diet and lifestyle and it health benefits. However, your stance on the environmental impacts of eating meat Is nothing short of ignorant and unfounded. As a practicing environmental engineer there are no “real data to support climate change. I’ve been studying environmental changes on our planet for decades with a very open mind. There is absolutely no data to support human derived climate change over the last 5000 years. Keep in mind the ice age didn’t occur because humans ate to much meat or caused an adverse carbon impact from our automobiles or industrial equipment. It is simply that our planet goes through cyclical climatic changes due to gravitational impacts of neighboring planets as well as from various heat driven gases that emanate from stars such as our sun just to name a couple of sources of climate variations over time.
This was an excellent interview. Thanks so much for sharing. I am impacted by how Dr. Klaper talks of how we change on a cellular and genetic level with every meal we consume. The face we have at 50 is the one we earned. oh my goodness…. i have been listening to this wisdom for years and only applying in on a “part time” basis. I am motivated to change things up the rest of the way. Thanks so much for this interview!
This quack is lying to all the vegan sheeple!!! He is…!!! Eat red meat!!
Kill cows..save your brain!!
I’m Mcdougalling as we speak and I just lost 6 lbs a week and I eat fruit and rice and moringa.
Really yes I Mcdougalling it works.
Love,love,love Doctor McDougal
I wish they would post the salt, sugar and carb levels when they do videos like this -_
As a person on a whole food plant based diet, it did not take long to go from like to dislike. Stick to facts based on scientific evidence. All of the doom and gloom you talk of makes it very easy to be dismissed as a crackpot. Turns out that Dr Klaper may be his own worst enemy.
“People get a little emotional with [veganism] then it’s not so scientific.” Science is on our side. Meat eaters are emotionally wrecked by the creeping realization the entire world is turning vegan
His choice of diet is very much like the Pritikin Program, which has been around for decades. The exception is that Pritikin allows for small amounts of low/no fat dairy, and very low fat meats and fish. Pritikin also advocates for no sugar and no salt, which don’t seem to be as major a deal with Dr. McDougall. Pritikin also frowns on processed starches, such as pasta and white bread. Low fat diets have been shown to help with weight loss and help medical conditions improve. Food without fat or very little fat can be a challenge, but I have embarked on my own version of these programs, allowing for small amounts of dairy/low fat meat/fish and a tiny bit of margarine or butter on my vegetables/potatoes. Food must taste good, or people will not stay with it. So when we cut down severely on what we like, such as butter, we can still get the taste without the bad effects. A pinch can go as far as a tablespoon if used correctly. I am one that cannot imagine a great piece of toasted bread with no butter. Or a pile of fresh mashed potatoes with no butter, sour cream or gravy. Keeping the fat to an absolute minimum is the key to staying with a program.
For dinner I had boiled potatoes and green beans with my favorite herbs. It was delish.
I get a big kick out of this guy. Spews wisdom but reminds me of some character out of the Simpsons
What a lovely and interesting discussion. I remember before going vegan thinking the only way I could get healthy was trying Atkins. I did it for six months and was so sick I ended up in Icu with my arteries falling apart. No joke! It’s a sick myth that living like that makes you healthy. I’ve been vegan for a while with a whole foods because of Dr McDougall. I hope someday to tell him how he saved my life.
Am i the only one that has noticed that the Whopper has IMPROVED? I remember it having a pathetic thin patty, i almost never ordered it because it was mostly salad fixings with a sliver of burger meat. Recently i got one though and was shocked, all of a sudden the burger patty was really thick and tastier, and ive been ordering them regularly now. I still prefer Mcdonalds but will eat BK now too. Hope they dont go out of business
His explanation of the Glycemic Index of foods was very helpful. So many low-carb-ers don’t seem to have the full understanding of this.
I don’t understand the idea that low calorie = healthy. Calorie is a measure of energy, the more energy the food contains, the higher calorie it gets. If something has a low amount of calories just means that you have to eat more of it to obtain your daily calorie intake. The only real reason that people get fat is that they consume more calories than they are able to burn.
Without this man, I dont think I would be writing this. 8 years ago. I had the early stages of bowel cancer.
After years of eating meat and dairy. And way too much red meat.
I started on the starch diet. And 8 years later I’m in the best shape of my life. Cancer free. Lost 42lbs. I’m very grateful for all the persistent hard work be has done to help people see the light.
wow thank you so much. my dad told me when I went vegan that humans developed the level of intelligence we have today is due to us starting to eat meat. I’m definitely going to show him this video:) thank you again
The yummiest burger option at burger king for me: Burger king 4 cheese whopper
Thanks for a great interview! I enjoyed it.
Anytime Dr. McDougall wants to introduce Einstein during your future interviews I would love it… just saying…
There is also science that shows that people with gastrointestinal pain or pelvic pain so not do well with gluten.’ I’m not saying it’s a food hard to digest but it can cause inflammation and I think this is donto the hybrid wheat that we have grown. In other words we no longer have access to Ancient whole wheat. I also believe that in the Middle East the sprout there wheat and ferment it. It taste more like a sourdough bread.
Here’s another fact: Burger King is actually called “Hungry Jack’s” in Australia
Definitely disagree with him on gmos. Theyve only been around for what, almost 20 years?
as a question to anyone. my friend is on an Ayurveda retreat where she is getting liberal amounts of ghee in each meal can that be healthy?
He’s telling you something that should be taken seriously, like how the fat in your blood after eating a cheeseburger is linked to arterial damage, and you go “okay whatever.” You’re either really biased or just an amateur.
I like the insertion of photos and video into the production. I helps break it up a bit and also gives us a visual reference to the topics. Good job!
He has GERD, like Bernie Sanders. We did this diet for 8 months and did not lose one pound. Now we switched to a low fat protein diet for one week and my husband said he loves how there is no acid reflux with it.
I got a scholarship from the BK foundation. They have different tiers you can win. No FASFA required.
All fast food is trash to be honest there is nothing like a home cooked meal from your bitch
Wonderful interview! I’ve recently switched to this lifestyle and it has changed my life. I love the idea of the True North place you spoke of! There needs to be so many more of those in this world.. however I’m curious if you address food addiction at your practice and get your clients help for that as I think that is a huge component of how people end up in these conditions. It’s not an addiction that is addressed very often. But it is so serious and very real.
Thank you for doing what you do!! <3
Dr Klapper seems so nice and genuinely happy to talk about helping people.
I’m glad Dr. McDougall gets so enthused! We need more people spearheading this dietary path like him. Great interview.
I used to get a reg. Whopper.
But now I just go for their fries.
double whooper without the bun and salad on the side instead of fries in case that’s possible, that would be my choice
self sufficient citizens are the competition of doctors n nurses n hospital shareholders
Wow! What a treat. I love listening to all the lectures the doc provide on U-Tube. So nice for him to take the time to be interviewed. Thank you both for the knowledge.
Doc, you think in China and India everyone is eating like kings and queens??? No, not yet. Still a lot of poverty. India has a larger absolute number of people living below the poverty line than Africa.
Thank you for taking the time. I’m Asian and decided to start the starch lifestyle 3 weeks ago. It’s easy for because I love rice and potatoes. I sleep better, I’m not bloated, my senses seems more clear, and I don’t feel my pain that I usually feel. This lifestyle would be common sense but yet so far from the way we think now.
Yes the Mc Whopper! That’s the Dream Right there!…Come On
This is a very good video. I’ve listen to Dr. McDougall on Utube many times but the one thing that doesn’t seemed to get mentioned enough is the fact that many starches like cereal and white bread in America are highly processed by the food industry. When he recommends eating cereal and bread he should throw in the added comment that they should be natural and not processed. If you think I’m wrong listen again to this video.
Hahaha the “Cinderella turns back into a pumpkin” analogy yeah ppl don’t get diseases, they earn them. To me this means we give ourselves these illnesses.
Good interview! You really know how to handle it, nice job!
Thank you.
I’m sorry but we are not starchatarians. You will still get disease eating only starch everyday.
Do NOT eat at Burger King. I’m saying this as someone that has eaten there a truly massive number of times until 2019. They *officially* sanctioned physical assault and battery against political opponents. It’s the most unbelievably incompetent, irresponsible action I have EVER heard of in my life from a company that gigantic, a firm with very possibly a 50 million dollar P.R. and image budget. THEY ENCOURAGED VIOLENCE. I am going to at least do my part to drive them to economic oblivion, and I kindly request that you do the same.
Yeah.. I was a vegan from teenager to 44 and I got one of the most rare inflammatory disease on the planet, worked like a charm. No one else was doing it either so it’s a waste of time regarding planet saving. Good for depopulation maybe.
I owe so much to Dr. McDougall. Thank you for the excellent interview.
I do like this video however he is wrong about Chimps being mostly vegan, as they regularly consume not only monkeys but also have eaten other apes and some including Frodo have killed other chimps and humans. Jane Goodall has said that they are the most like humans due to some actually being psychopathic where as others are not. Sorry just an aside the video is great though.
I recently transitioned to a plant-based diet and am starting to feel the POSITIVE effects! I am an avid body builder and used to think that “protein” only comes from meat but now I am seeing the opposite. I feel a TON better, head is more clear, eyes and more energy. Thanks for sharing!
Finally an MD who has the balls to tell the truth and educated the sheeples. Great Job Dr. McDougall but there still a gap for some improvement in the starch based diet. Awesome interview!
What a great interview and such good info! Thanks for the inspiration:)
please could you answer what to feed a baby, first year breast but then what to start with is best
Coming from someone who bought Gregers ‘How not to Diet’ book, I attest that it’s very well written and has the best online citation reference I’ve ever seen. I’m vlogging my results with it, and I’m incredibly impressed thus far.
Imagine how this guy and some other doctors could change Obamacare and the health insurance system!! What about this for prevention?
slaughterhouse raise community sexual violence see Fitzgerald and also Dillard
Grilled chicken sandwich, no cheese, no mayo, 100%. High protein and decent carbs with not much fat.
Ya see, I don’t go to fast food to choose the healthy option, I go to have fun lol
Thank you both of you for this lovely video. God bless you. Greetings from Accra, Ghana, West Africa.
ITS GOTTA BE A GRILLED CHICKEN I JUST ORDERED ONE BECAUSE I THINK ITS THE HEALTHIEST
I actually work at McDonalds and I have my break during the breakfast menu. I have a porridge, toasted bagel with either jam or cream cheese and then a fruit bag (apples and grapes) with a mocha. I go for the stuff that you can buy anywhere, because I’ve seen how the food is cooked…..! And yes, I am job hunting!
Omg!!!! The worst food on the planet…all that fake smoke…..yuckkkkk and the most crappy employees
Wat a boring group of people where is nina Adam n Steven at…

Thanks very much!! I’m from Canada and my family and I been transforming more into Vegan and no diary or meat! Health is our asset!! Great speech and keep it up! Lets change life’s!
Like he says “going plant based is a series of false starts” but eventually you win. It gets easier and easier. Jump in, the water is fine!
yea, like where that kids hands have been before he/she made your sandwich
Remember: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BURGER KING who unflinchingly advocated physical violence against political opponents.
We’re going to put those mother f-kers out of business. We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy against violence and terrorism.
All theses comments are so silly. HealthiER as in healthy in comparison to something else not necessarily healthy on its own.
Correction Brian, Dr Gregor NEVER makes assumptions! Period! He is science based always!
My initial guess would be some kind of wrap.. but seeing as they don’t have any, the grilled chicken sandwich?
When the politicians see the crowd going in a given direction, they often run in front of the crowd and say “This Way”. They are still lot quite leaders but I see some hope for us.
THE BEEF AND CHICKEN PATIES HAVE BEEN VERY ROTTEN LATELY. THIS IS NOT FROM ONE VISIT. AS A TRUCK DRIVER WITH THE RESTAURANTS CLOSE,THIS LEAVES FAST FOOD. WHAT ARE TRUCK DRIVERS GOING TO EAT. HEALTH INSPECTIONS THAT HAVEN’T YET BEEN BRIBED ARE DEFINITELY NEEDED AT FASTFOOD CHAINS. THE COMMERCIAL DRIVERS OF AMERICA NEED BETTER NUTRITIONAL MEALS WITH GREEN VEGETABLES. WHAT GOOD IS A LOG BOOK IF WE AR ERR STUCK EATTING UNSAFE GARBAGE.
Instead of wasting money coming up with all those gimmicks and promos, why don’t they just use that money on improving their food??
Thank you Dr. for sharing all the information; I have started few months ago changing my eating habits; I lost a lot of weight and feel great about that, however, I have a concern since I’ve been suffering from insomnia for a while now I’ll try melatonin pills few other stuff but nothing seemed to work for me; any recommendations please; thank you so much. Another thing I have a heart problem; help!
The real issue with BK is the Whopper you get in person looks absolutely nothing like it does in the ads… and it’s definitely not “flame broiled” unless you tell them you want it “off the broiler”…when you do the taste is night and day!!!
In August 1993 Klaper issued a medical certificate for the insurers of two movies that River Phoenix was working on at the time, Dark Blood and Interview With the Vampire. The certificate was signed by both Klaper and Phoenix and stated that Phoenix had never used “LSD, heroin, cocaine, alcohol in excess, or any other narcotic, depressant, stimulant or psychedelic. At the time Phoenix was deeply into the drug scene and died from a drug overdose two months later on October 31, 1993. Phoenix’s death resulted in Dark Blood being scrapped, and his role in Interview with the Vampire being replaced by Christian Slater. A total $US5.7 million was paid out by the insurers of both movies as the result of Phoenix’s death. Since Phoenix’s death, insurance rates have increased significantly, medical certificates are no longer accepted, and actors are required to undergo more rigorous medical examination prior to being insured. [22]
According to oncologist David Gorski “Klaper subscribes to the all-too-common claim that a vegan diet is better than any other and supplements that claim with a belief that undergoing fasts, in which one consumes only water, is a major part of the path to health and wellness”. He supports multiple pseudoscience medical claims such as acupuncture, chiropractic, naturopathy and border-line “germ theory denialism”. Klaper also gives “highly dubious advice for cancer patients, even claiming that fasting can shrink malignant tumors. Klaper claims that fasts will clear up inflammation, eczema, arthritis and other issues. “The situation” according to Gorski, is “way more complicated than Dr. Klaper paints it”. As a surgeon himself, Gorski is appalled that Klaper claims that fasting encourages “faster wound healing” a statement that Gorski calls “Bullshit!”. Magician Penn Jillette reported on multiple podcasts that he has lost over 25 pounds on Klaper’s water fast diet, Gorski responded that of course he will lose weight on a water-only diet. In Gorski’s opinion as a medical doctor himself, “Jillette has fallen “hook, line, and sinker for a whole lot of dietary pseudoscience and promoting it on his show with a credulous interview with someone like Dr. Klaper”. Gorski hopes that Jillette will eventually realize “that Dr. Klaper is peddling highly dubious claims (at best). Basically, the product Dr. Klaper is peddling in terms of science is a massive exaggeration based on dubious science, cherry picked cases, and bad evolutionary analogies. Worse, fasts, even when supervised by a physician, are potentially dangerous”.[23]
Burger King is trying so hard to stay in business. They were really giving McDonald’s a run back in the 90’s. A Whopper was truly a huge sandwich in the 90’s.
I work at a bk so i get a grilled chicken no mayo, apple sauce, and water or fat free milk
My last experience is and always shall be my last experience. Terrible food and horrible service.
Eating meat and Vegetables everyday is not the problem. Eating processed food is the killer. My Dad is 90 years old and fit as a fiddle. He ate meat all his life. But he doesn’t eat a lot of junk food. Meat and vegetables without all the sugary processed food never hurt anyone.
The host is uninformed about why vegans opt out as he has.
In order to remain a vegan one needs to have two or more reasons
1) environmental
2) health
3) cruelty
I have now have all three, he need to view more films now cruelty
That Was Literally STUPID!! Just a Bunch of B.S. TALK!! LIKE OMFFFG
Glass of water is the only healthy thing there oh wait…
The water is contaminated
Awe you flew into la just in time for my birthday today feel free to head to the desert to hang with me! Also…I guessed the grilled chicken sandwich!
At 6 feet tall and 215 pounds I had arthritis, was tired all the time and miserable. September 2019 I started the McDougall diet. At 166 pounds i stopped losing weight. Arthritis is gone I have a lot more energy and feel amazing! No more blood sugar and caffeine roller coaster! I eat all I want of the right foods and weigh about 170 pounds. Dr. McDougall saved my life! I had asthma and almost died from it. This new lifestyle is for me! Thanks John and Mary!!
its veterinarian s who block agriculture from converting to plant based
The fat black lady talking about healthy, even though she is FAT LMAO
36:23 I swear Brian is just sprouting ‘correlation but not causation’ because it’s a phrase he likes to use to debunk plant-based diets, rather than understanding that it has no meaning in the context he’s just applied it to.
Dr Klaper has my heart, what an exceptional human being.❤️❤️a warrior of Ahimsa.
He’s an incredible speaker. He changed my life. I am now a “devout vegan”.
I know it is not the best fast food, but Burger King saved my life when I was stranded in the Atlanta airport all night after flying in from London. I had a Whopper at 2:00 AM that was the best thing I have eaten in a long time and was served by a young lady who was beyond exhausted, but served it with a smile. I will always have a soft spot for them!
I dare anyone to order a whopper ‘flame broiled on both sides as shown in this commercial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoywXeQdhQE Have it your way.
What did our ancestors eat during winters? Plants were not available in winter
For the last one I would like to buy the one in my neighborhood then have it close they lousy then open as a A and W
The Precautionary Principle MUST be the law of the land if we are ever going to take control of the ‘healthcare’ crisis. That is why Obamacare and our current system is guaranteed to collapse. WHY have you not heard any of the candidates talk about the epidemics of sickness in America??? It’s almost like the Criminals in Power want you to die before you can collect any benefits from your retirement.
Juh chill. There’s nothing wrong with BK. Imma get MAD. So I’mma be nice.? Bye.
Making junk food look absolute astonishing
No wonder we dying of diseases
Ohk guys it ohk to eat it in a While buh don’t get stuck on those things
Wow-I never thought about the hunter-gatherer theory being skewed in that way but it makes perfect sense. Men are always beating their chests, so to speak, so of course they would invent this paleo way of thinking.
IT’s too bad that burger king does not use real onions for onion rings! Fast food kills.
Didn’t they go to college to learn how to make money. So why somebody has to pay for their education
Burger king please open your new branch in Navsari in south Gujarat we won’t enjoy your burger surat it’s to long from our city
A friend of mine ate at BK a few months ago…and got food poisoning. That’s all I need to know before deciding to eat somewhere other than BK.
Yes. Thank goodness he said it. There ARE some and actually many of us who simply cannot do a little bit. Most of us can not practice moderation ESPECIALLY if our pleasure system gets all lit up when we are eating over-sweetened and over-salted and fatty foods.
He’s right: JUST DON’T GO THERE. Stay away from the poisonous foods that are killing us. Think of it as RED LIGHT for the poisons, no caution yellow light. Red light!!
Remember: ‘IT’S THE FOOD’
And
‘NO OIL. REALLY. NO OIL.’
Good luck to us all.
I will only eat at burger king when they no longer serve slaughtered animals on the grill. Sorry, but i do not trust cross contamination, so my meals are prepared at home where i am in charge
Slain degenerates nose looks like a freaking dick!! she needs a nose job Baaaaaaad
I had got a salad from there i was so sad and didnt even want to eat anymore
Ain’t nothing healthy from that place except leaving out the door lmao
Why would anybody take health advise from a man looking like a decaying corpse
Sly comment….”I’ve done that a bit with cigarettes, with alcohol, and then last year with plant-based”…. wth, is the host for or against plant-based?
Either grilled chicken or a veggie whopper (which is surprisingly really tasty)
Things people know about Burger King
Number 15 Burger King foot lettuce
Brian is honestly running his rationale in circles. He seems to appreciate how amazing his health was and that he completed an Ironman whilst plant-based, yet seems to still be combative and want to cast doubt on the plant-based movement. He is basically just seeking justification for introducing animal proteins back in to his diet. It’s pretty self-serving to be honest.
Burger King’s Whoppers used to be great! Now, I won’t even eat them! They cook them, and then put them in a tray and the grease coagulates! They are freaking disgusting!
Won’t be eating there!!! No fake food for me!!! Which I try to avoid especially in grocery stores and occasional burgers out as a treat!!! Guess I’ll have to stick to In & Out!!!
Here you can learn an unhealthy mindset:low calorie = healthy
For everyone who is triggered I am sorry
I just wanted to tell you this is totally wrong!
Burger King doesn’t Microwave their meat! It’s grilled and then put into a holding bin to keep warm
You’re a fantastic interviewer! No awkward moments, eloquent on all the topics at hand and I love how you can sense the respect you have for Dr McDougall.
when they flipped the food chart upside down, people turned into cows, by the way when you want to fatten up cattle you give them grains interesting, also look at the videos on utube, where they show pictures and also videos in the early 1900’s, for some reason you never see an obese person, this greger is a complete FOOL!!!!!!!!!
You missed the elephant in the room that Burger King MICROWAVES its burger patties before serving.
man, dr. greger is truly an amazing dude. he genuinely cares about humanity and health & you can tell how passionate he is anytime he talks. such an inspiration!
Just why do I need to know any of that before going to Burger king?
It’s all about supply and demand. Once the demand changes, more vegetarians and vegans, the supply will conform and follow suit.
Haven’t been to a BK in years. Doing okay I guess. I liked the taste… but the buns holding the goods always seemed to fall apart. Then… it became finger food.
The Buns CAN MAKE A SANDWICH!
McDonald’s Crispy Buttermilk Sandwich has a great bun! Almost worth the whole sandwich.
Gotta have a good bun. Me? Old bun and no teeth. Smile!
That’s true…dr Mcduagull is my food guru..since switching to starch,I am witnessing huge improvement in my health and in my kids too.gratitude
Why would you go to a fast food place to pick a healthy option
Btw, I love all you vegan Doctors!! So happy I found all of you! I want my friends and family to live healthy and happier!! Myself too! Plus keep the animals happy!!
If you don’t eat meat and you go to a fast food place to get meatless burgers you’re going to have a bad time.
why doesnt burger king paY MY FUCKING Student loans? I work there for fuck sake, I get paid minimum wage
Hi Doc
Great talk.
I have been Vegan for 10 years.
Vegetarian for decades before.
So glad that doctors like yourself are getting the science outbthere
Thank you!!!
A good video idea would be if they would try 5 min craft hacks for food or something hope u read ittt
Burger King
Just because something has not to many calories, that doesn’t mean it’s healthy. Sorry…
Why the fudge is everyone mad?! Their not implying just because it’s low calorie it’s healthy. Their going just based of the whole BURGER KING MENU .
Great chat. He’s the best. I just interviewed him myself. So generous of him!
I LOVE THE WHOPPER,BETTER THAN ANYTHING FROM MC DONALD’S!!!! I ALSO PREFER WENDY’S OVER MC DONALD’S!!!! I NEVER CARED FOR ELLEN,NEVER THOUGHT THAT SHE WAS FUNNY!!!!! EVEN BEFORE SHE CAME OUT AS A LEZBO!!!! TO ME ELLEN IS JUST ANOTHER PROPPED UP,AFFIRMATIVE ACTION HIRE THAT HOLLYWIERD IS FINANCING!!!!
I miss the old school bacon double cheeseburger they used to have. I cannot stomach anything they serve now.
Brian others were a bit hard on you but I think your views are just as valid as gregers. Some people really want to be full vegan but their body isn’t FULLY compatible. Bodies are tricky and everyone is different
The Impossible Whopper is phenomenal. Hopefully it goes Nationwide. You guys are missing out.
Plzzzzz donate to my GoFundMe page the name is (help me get a iPhone X and plus get my mom one)
I do miss the chicken Whopper BK had a couple years ago. Got my burger fix without feeling totally disgusting. If I ever get a fast food craving now, I usually head to Wendy’s or Popeye’s.
I still want to know why on earth someone would go to Burger King or McDonalds when they are looking for something healthy. For me, I don’t care what the hell is there as long as it tastes good. The bigger problem I think is that people go to them for meal or a ton of meals instead of having some healthy food they might of made or got at one of the million healthy places. They don’t HAVE to have healthy food there, at least they are trying.
The only thing I think of when I hear “Burger King” is dry meat and small burgers
if you’re so worried about being healthy you shouldn’t be eating fast food anyway
Why did she keep calling Burger King a she? Is that part of the sjw protocol?
High blood pressure, daily headaches, arthritis, high cholesterol all corrected within 4 weeks of a plant based diet!!! OFF all meds! we have been vegan for a few years and have never looked back, it changed our lives, I would urge everyone, just give it a go and see for yourself. Really enjoyed the interview, thank you.
I’m going to find out if there’s a plant based diet Dr. in my area. I’m 66 and have been on a plant based diet since the first of the year. I’ve lost 20 lbs., but I’m not feeling great like I hear everyone talks about.
My wake up call was a couple of things….I’m 33 I love growing food and started a veg garden with my children who DID NOT KNOW veg comes from the ground!!! After a year of growing and eating veg straight from the garden we became somewhat self sufficient……then came the ex battery hens….we decided to rescue hens I was offered 3 ex battery hens free and jumped at the chance…we bought a lovely coop and put a few natural elements in place to make it fun…on collecting these hens I asked why they were in such poor condition missing half their feathers I was in shock my daughter cried they looked horrific…….I then done my homework….hens used for mass egg production with no room to move look it up it’s horrific!!!! THEN the picture below them on the internet……KFC Chicken grinding machine with hundreds of dead chickens and blood on the floor……instant vegan never touched meat, dairy, eggs nothing animal based at all again……..I have nothing against meat eaters at all what I will say is I have never felt healthier in my life….I had constant hormonal acne for years I tried tablets, antibiotics, different birth control pills to stabilise my hormones and creams probably 9 or 10 all from a doctor…….I became vegan and within 2 weeks my hormones evened out and after a month my acne had gone….. I’ve never had a breakout since!!! And the energy I’ve had is more than I ever had eating meat!!!!!!
Dr Greger seems super frail and unhealthy. I don’t wanna look like this guy. No thanks.
In the UK they encouraged thier patrons to milkshake political opponents.
Thier food is trash, as well as thier marketing.
I’ve noticed that most of these people do not understand what ‘healthy’ means. Healthy ain’t a taste, sis
Hello Dr Kapler! thank you for this important education you are providing to us! It is a long road plenty of hard work breaking deep old habits based on excess consuming of animal products, but has the fascinating reward of a clear mind and health life style! Keep the good work!
Burger King and healthy this Oxymoron can only be topped if you are able to involve a climax in it.
Remember when Buzzfeed videos used to get 1 million views per video
*reads title…. They are Americans and they care about weight?! Suprise!
Not enough data. Depends on context! For example, what are you eating tonight? High fat, low protein? Then grilled chicken sandwich could be a good choice. What are your body composition goals? If you’re cutting fat, black coffee to extend the fast could be a good choice:)
I work at Burger King and nothing is healthy man I don’t recommend
You hate dry lettuce? That’s lettuce. Maybe dress it? Jesus.
Trust me nobody’s going to stop eating Burger King after this video
Love Dr. Greger! Love his energy ❤️ just started listening to his book “how not to die” on audio and it’s amazing definitely life changing! I’m 31 healthy, active been eating healthy since I was 16 or so I thought. Many people around my age are already on blood pressure pills, have diabetes and other health problems it’s crazy! Happy to say plant base is the way to go 7 days so far and feel amazing! My skin is also glowing! ❣️
After 5 years of treating myself for type 2 diabetes and fatty liver dysfunction I embraced a paradigm shift in to whole food plant based consumption. After 6 weeks my blood glucose stabilized to normal(102-112). I discontinued my $450 monthly Humalog/insulin habit. I drink only distilled water, at least 1.5 gallons per day. I have done a 48 hour water fast several times. At 62 y.o. I was reborn, I was transformed in to mind blowing adventure of losing 28 lbs., waist size from 39in. to 32, memory significant improvement, I have more energy than my sugar addicted kids. Thanks to you and others who set me free, I know the truth. Mainstream media is, imho, demonically littered with propaganda aimed to brain feed youth with SUGAR! Your vid is especially accurate, thanks.
i guessed right, unfair there was no hint of doubling it haha
The Whopper was actually good until the last few decades….what happened? It’s like the ‘beef’ turned into some sort of clay. It’s depressing. Are you saying now that the regular whopper, etc. uses this new meatless burger?
Being on a plant based diet for four months helped me reduce my total cholesterol from 198 to 168. I hope to see it drop even further.
The only thing I like from bk is the breakfast burrito jrs. das it
Who would have thought that a McDonald’s would be the biggest stick in the mud out of all the chains. Up there with Chick-fil-a’s nonsense.
yes, i noticed similar things at harvard medical school and waterbury hospital. 1:00 that the patients do not really get better on all of this medication and with all of the medical and surgical interventions. no doubt it is nutrition that is the key to health. the gateway to health is nutrition. adk, m.d.
specifically i agree with 0:41 1:33. the healthcare system is not focused primarily on getting patients well. otherwise nutrition would always be emphasized especially in obstetrics, pediatrics, family medicine, and primary care internal medicine. and it would not simply be eat fruits and vegetables, it would be utilizing all of the sciences to clearly educate the reality of the effects of nutrition on health, longevity, quality of living, and prevention of preventable and modifiable chronic diseases, as well as for some acute diseases.
Burger King will always be one of my favorites… Everything has something wrong these days, live life or live dreams…
See alot of comments about how Brain seemingly is giving Gregor and Bernard in another interview alot more pushback and relate this to him being defensive about his own habits. And That in relations to other guest he did not show this “defensive” attitude. BUT might it just be that Brain knows Gregor and Bernard are so solid in their vision that he can take this stance and conduct a good interview because he knows these people will stand their ground and thereby add alot more to the interview.
He might just be more provocative because these scientist can take it and they will be able to push back with equal force making for a good interaction.
wanted to put a comment but then i realized everyone was thinking the exact same answer..
thank you Dr. I am Vegan for last 8 years and still love to listen to you. you are awesome.
Dr. McDougall emphasizes on all his records that we have to avoid animal products and vegetable oil. I am totally confuse with the oil. Does that mean we have to cook without any oil or there are some oils we could use for cooking and salad dressing. I appreciate if you would explain more.
Calories are scientifically accurate or valid they can’t be counted they have estimations plus the amount doesn’t count towards the food being healthy or not
Are fats bad period? Meaning are plant based fats like avacados are just as bad as animal fat such as cheese? When i here low fat diet from Dr’s are they implying plant based fats too?
Dr Gregor…is a great man. Brian fyi Dr Gregor will always promote evidence based facts, they are never assumptions.
Hi everybody i don’t anderstand everything because it’s not my language but Doc McDougall says wheat bread something like this? Wheat IS not healthy for most of people? Are you agree with this? I am on starch solution and it works very well but no wheat for me.
why follow someones nutrition advice when they themselves look so unhealthy?
Unrelated but I’m so glad that the try guys separated from buzzfeed Eugene’s new video is truly a piece of art. Something that he could independently craft.
Brian, first of all, I love you. Second; I DARE YOU, as a challenge, to go back to Soltara, or wherever, and ask Mother Aya what drives your condescending attitude (cough, EGO, let’s be honest) towards people who eat “plants” for their health, or just out of morality, vs eating nonhuman animals. And seriously ask her to SHOW you what the animals think. Sound like a fun trip? I’m sure she will give you an ass whipping. Lol. Good luck! XO
i like that people think that lower calories means healthier
This dude never finished his residency. He’s not even a real doctor. He went straight from school to vegan propaganda.
Wow! He looks like a cancer survivor. I am pretty sure he has a bunch of health issues other than high blood pressure. Extreme muscle loss and osteoporosis…to name a few.
I worked at burger king in highschool for 2 years and I only ate salads pretty much, everything there is absolutely disgusting and it completely ruined fast food for me
In hilly areas of India people eat rice three times a day and they all lean and active.they walk miles and hardly have diabetes
Any one in a strong man or iron man Or Olympics are pretty athletic… period. Even if not the top athlete….
I go burger king after many years and went to try omelette breakfast in a shop i can read every where SAY NO TO THE PLASTIC whoua fantastic but only one problem everything i be serve was in plastic fork knife plate and cup what a joke very bad
He has some interesting videos, but dam he is aging terribly. Like he said, we don’t have super good data, but it’s the best data in his mind. From long term vegan exemples, it seems that blood samples studies don’t catch this accelerated aging vegans appear to suffer. Compare him to 4 years ago, he look like he aged 20 years. In his most recent videos, he has a yellow/greenish tone skin, muscle waisting and he has the eyes of someone who didn’t sleep in a week. He reminds me of someone who’s been sick from Crohn disease for a long time.
@Healthytarian when i do sports, do i need more calories a day? can i follow his diet or do i need more because u burn more? thanks and its a great interview i love him and he changed my life! great guy
Dr Gregor is far more interesting than the host..Host is closed minded. A year of plant based?! You’re not an expert and luckily for you that you didn’t go plant based because you were doing. You already proved in your one year, that there was a tremendous difference.
Did he literally just say ” You took great athletes but they weren’t the best. You showed a beautiful runner. You showed a meat eater getting best by a vegan…”? But but but…
He should sell his color picture book on its own at book stores or on amazon.
Brian I did the plant based thing for a year! I ran the Ironman!
Dr Gregor That’s not going to help you decades from now.
Brian yeah fine I get it, I get why you’re doing it
I’ve been on the Dr. McDougall plan for a week. I’ve lost 12 pounds, I’m not hungry, my skin, sinuses, and lungs have cleared. I’ve had foot pain for over a year now. It’s nearly gone. My dandruff has gone away. I have high mental energy and low fatigue. What’s really amazing is how quickly my health improved.
Literally EVERY doctor I told about reversal of heart disease through plant based diet immediately got a red face and started to talk very, very angrily, and urged me to stop talking such utter and complete nonsense, adding how extremely dangerous plant based diets are. And here I am 6 years a vegan, healthier than ever. Doctors…
We watched The Game Changers by complete chance. Had anyone approached me even a day earlier encouraging me to consider plant-based eating, I wouldn’t have listened to a word. I mean, I made fun of my teenager for simply working at a vegan restaurant, especially when he tried telling me the food was “actually pretty good”. I had my impression of those who refused animal products, and I would never be one of those. That was, until I watched the documentary. The next day, my fiance and I began as plant-based as we knew how. The day after that, we watched What the Health. Wow…never again (meat, that is)! The way I explain why someone should watch both…Game Changers dispels the myths I knew as “truths” about what a vegetarian/vegan could NOT do…What the Health drove home why I should never put that stuff in my mouth again. Two weeks later I finished How Not to Die (I ordered five copies to share with family). Neither documentary made me think that plant-based, and only plant-based, would allow me to reach my full athletic potential. I think Brian misses the intent of Game Changers, and overestimates the knowledge an average person possesses on plant-based living. You have to reach us dummies somehow. Those of us who think/thought vegetarians and vegans were, well, idiots. And they did just that in 112 minutes! My eyes and mind were opened to something new. False stereotypes were softened and sloughed. Three weeks in, my blood work was in range across the board for the first time in my adult life. And I feel like I’m doing the right thing for so many reasons. Are some of the anecdotes gimmicky? I believe so. But they sure do get your attention and get you thinking. I think The Game Changers does exactly what it set out to do, and Dr Greger is just one of the brilliant minds behind their message.
Excited to see Dr. Greger tomorrow in MIchigan for his book signing and dinner. Love his passion and excitement for this way of eating. I thought he was asked some very good questions and the interview went well.
Dr Greger is so enthusiastic, excited and passionate when he talks and The only thing Brian can combat that with is “alright” And “whatever”. The world does not diserve you, Dr Greger
Hi Doctor Klaper, I would like to start a plant based restaurant, what types of food would be suitable? The main problem with restaurant is that the veggies would rott fast so it has to be used quickly. Many restaurant relies on freezers to keep food to cook, like frozen potatoes, and frozen meats.
Dr michael greger is a blessing to the world. What a phenomenal man.
America doesn’t want to know the truth. Like telling a 5 year old kid they can’t have a candy bar.
Please watch some stories of ex-vegans on youtube and then make up your mind.
Dr. Thank you so much for this!!! I’ll be 38 and have been doing this and in two weeks time dropped a few pounds.. I feel amazing! And you know what!? I don’t crave meat..dairy ect…. I don’t feel bloated! Going Vegan!!
Dr. Klaper, your complextion is so smooth and glowing!! Except for your gray hair you look so young!!
Having ‘The Top Athlete’ doesn’t prove causation. That isnt science thinking.
Spot on, 1 counter-example disproves a rule says Dr. Greger..
Why are some doctors prescribing pills if the main problem is the food people eat? They’re the doctor you would think they know better than we do. It’s all about money because my doctor prescribed me so many pills for all my problems from depression to chronic back pain made me feel like a zombie and so many side effects!! Now after seeing these types of videos I’m going to change to WFPB!! Check out dr Anthony lim too!!
I love that Dr Greger follows the science ….
I use to eat plant based & lost fat weight, reduced my hypothyroidism to the point where it was no longer detectable on blood test, felt healthy & vibrant, energetic.
Been back to eating meat , cheese , whatever… Western diet again.
Gained weight ( fat weight ), feel sluggish, unhealthy, lower energy etc.
I’m getting back on track again, back to plant based natural foods again.
I thought the interviewer was a bit of a jerk.
Dr Greger you are brilliant! Love the fact that you never put anyone down. The entire movie was brilliant. Truly the best plant based documentary there is. Helped convince my husband to take a 3 month challenge.
The London real guy is just being a dick You’re not even a scientist dude! Questioning things is fine of course, but dont be an ass…Dr Greger is such a rockstar and he is nice about it all! Learn from him!
Michael should have a debate with Jordan Peterson and his carnivore diet
Thank you for helping the vegan community but learning empathy is more important than learning facts
I appreciate Dr. McDougall so much. He should stop this ‘hunter gatherer is sexist’ nonsense however. There are two fundamental truths. One, men are on average bigger, taller and stronger than women. And two, nobody can be in two places at the same time. When my grandfather used oxen to til up the ground, because he had the strength and stamina to do it when my grandmother did not…he couldn’t also be in the house cooking dinner. When he was out with my uncles cutting down a tree with a handsaw, and using mules to pull it back to the house….he couldn’t be inside washing clothes. Even today, grown men in Africa will go out hunting. PLEASE STOP Dr. McDougall…the superiority of a starch based diet doesn’t need to be sold to women by appealing to their inferiority complex and petty politics.
I have been following this model of eating since 1978, including fasting.. I’m 60 years old, entirely free of illness, at my ideal weight and tireless! Was vegetarian for 40 years but I’ve recently added rainbow mountain trout that we catch, our yard eggs and wild sockeye salmon and other fatty fish. Grow and eat our own greens, veggies, beans and sprouts. I don’t bother with bread unless I make it. I eat good quality cheeses, butter and ghee-organic, pasture raised. No sugar with a handful of exceptions; fruits in season, especially wild.
Somehow you don’t look very gracious or friendly Brian. Disappointing. Dr. Greger was amazing.
Most people feed their pets cheap cat food and dog food which are ALL based on corn and NO meat.. I’m sure most of these animals get many diseases, but regardless they CAN live on corn.
Who else clicked on this video thinking it was Burger King foot lettuce
Delivery scooters in Los Angeles?
That’s hysterical!
Those scooters will be robbed,
or stolen right after the leave.
Free meal, free scooter.
I understand what you’re saying you won’t get people to believe it though
Love Dr Greger. Found this interviewer to be annoyingly close-minded.
Veganism is a philosophy. Should we apologize for being passionate about saving animals from suffering and slaughter? Is what to eat a personal decision if it involves eating human animals? Maybe the less intelligent ones, or members of certain minorites…? It takes strength, awareness and compassion to go vegan, but there’s no need to denigrate it.
Grilled chicken sandwhich or a salad dressing on the side. No cheese no mayo if you really want to cut fat.
In both this interview and the one with Dr. Barnard he brings up causation and correlation with regards to athletes being vegan as featured in Game Changers. Seriously, dude, you think winning the Olympics causes someone to eat plant-based? Ok, he’s probably saying it’s a chance relationship, and he’s right, most Olympic athletes are not vegan. But what the movie DOES PROVE is that eating vegan doesn’t prevent top performance. And then he says they weren’t the top of the top. Ok, Olympics aren’t the top enough. Wow, dude.
I CANT FUCKIN WAITTTTTT FOR IMPOSSIBLE BURGER, EVEN MY PARENTS & ALL MY SCHOOL….. I HOPE SOON COMES TO CALI….FUCK YA…WILL BE NO MORE FUCKIN MEAT FOR ME…I HOPE THEY MAKE STAKES & GROUND IMPOSSIBLE BURGER FOR HOME USE JUST EVERYTHING..I DONT LIKE FUCKIN MEAT ANYWAY…MY PARENTS & GRAND PARENTS CANT EAT RED MEAT ANYMORE FOR YEARSSS FOR FUCKIN HEATH ISSUE SHIT,I DONT KNOW…THEY CANT FUCKIN WAIT FOR THIS…THEY GONNA COOK EVERYTHING WITH IT & ENJOY THE GOOD OLE RED MEAT TASTE, THEY LOVED & NOT WORRY ABOUT IT….BURGER KING GET UR ASS BUSY & ALSO BRING THAT IMPOSSIBLE MEAT IN TO STORES..NO MORE FUCKIN RED MEAT AFTER THAT
‘They didn’t show the top athletes ‘ PRAT! Not watching London Real anymore. This London Real dude is an absolute dick head!
I watch these London Real videos just when there are interesting guests like Dr. Greger. But I hate to watch them for this stupid and arrogant presenter
burger king in korea is do fucking good, wish they made those burgers here too
Dr. Greger is an amazing person. Love his work, books. He and Dr.Barnard really changed my view on food. Love the interview.
The salad has almost twice as many calories as the Whopper Jr.
They don’t have the impossible whopper in north Las Vegas, I fact the employees never heard of it, the manager called the corporate office to inquire within, they assured him that it will be coming soon, I just had to ask the question, in st, Louis they’ve had since 2018, just saying
My wife´s rash, caused by lupus, that she has been trying to get rid of for 3 years went away after only 2 days on this new diet, we will certainly continue!!!!
Poor Dr. Potato Head. The high-fat, high-veggie, high-egg, low-junk carb, low-starch juggernaut cannot be stopped. And 99% of American will not and cannot adopt this silly starch diet.
Okay but how is the salad that many calories?? Were they including the dressing, croutons, etc.? Cause it didn’t seem like they did.
I don’t see why dropping animal products from the diet is that big a deal. I was a meat/egg/milk eater all my life except for four years when I dropped beef and chicken. Nothing changed. But a month ago I started the whole food plant based program, and honestly, it’s not that big a deal. So I don’t miss meat, sugar, oil, milk, etc. now. It’s not like you don’t have a gazillion other foods to choose from. I did this because I am fat, my feet hurt, my energy was terrible, and too many foods gave me diarrhea for hours on end. I was a mess, and I was embarrassed when I had to start cancelling appointments due to my stomach issues. Since I started on this program, I feel so much better, and am losing weight. I have a long way to go. But I am not starving, and I can eat whenever I want to. The stomach issue stopped immediately, and I only had one episode when, to finish up some eggs in the refrigerator from my past shopping, I ate three eggs, and was in the bathroom for hours. Was it the eggs? I dunno, but I don’t know what else could have triggered it. I have three left, so will try again and see what happens. I can’t seem to eat fat any more. Eggs have a little fat in them. I will say that I am eating so much healthier, and getting a ton more fiber, more vitamins and minerals, and enzymes from raw salads and fruits.
Do you have to mention going “plantbased for a year” with every plantbased doctor? Like, we get it
I sometimes wonder if one of the reasons people give up on the plant based diet is because their arteries are so clogged that they cannot think straight.
I hate to tell you Dr. but the same people making money off us being sick are the same ones running the world including the media, therefor the media will never “out” this problem.
It’s very hard to follow Dr. Greger sometimes. He doesn’t finish sentences, he doesn’t listen to the interviewer…I recognize his intelligence and repetition fatigue, but seriously. Do leafy greens really make us that hyper? I don’t think so.
His coming book will be equal to Darwin’s Origin of a Species or even the Bible. It will be foundational and ultimate in it’s field. Maybe he’s high on that…
Thank you Power Powells, for your great work in keeping the fast foody families well informed. These are great tips…cheers
Plant based is the way to go! I’ve been at it for over 7 years.
Dr.Klaper what a lovely man he is. Such a gentle and compassionate human being.
Better then school thank you for this wonderful interview!
Once you look behind the curtain you can’t pretend you don’t know what’s behind the curtain I love it
When Jesus taught people to pray he mentioned starch:
“So then, this is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily BREAD” Matt 6:9-11
Jesus uses starch to symbolize Himself:
Jesus said to them, “I am the BREAD of life; whoever comes to me shall NOT HUNGER, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” John 6:35
And in the Old Testament when the Isreaites were in the wilderness with nothing to eat, what food did God Himself choose to sustain them for 40 years?
“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Behold, I will rain BREAD from heaven for you; Ex 16:4
This is excellent information; I especially like his input about the glycemic index. There is so much confusion regarding this. I will watch this video again and again. Thank you.
Wow Dr Greger is only 47 and he looks like 65. The vegan diet is not a good diet.
Yesssss Dr Greger is awesome!!! It’s so true that for some people, once you know better, you do better and it’s definitely been the case for me and my family. Thank you for this interview!!!
Yeah the one down the street from my house closed down a couple months ago and it now turning into a Starbucks drive thru.
I love Dr Greger’s enthusiasm! His information has helped me so much, not only to know how to lose weight and get healthy for the short term, but also to have long term health and quality of life!
I’m not religious, but this always seem apt to me ‘What we do to the Beast, we do unto ourselves’
Sugar is TOXIC and eating such is the cause for health problems….
As Brian Clement says: There are two reasons why people change their behavior. They are either “frightened “ or they are “enlightened “.
I’d rather have a mushroom burger now instead of a hamburger. I was plant based for two months. Went off of it. Wish I didn’t. lol. I been back on it again for 3 days. Taking Acidophilus. I just was reading that it helps with Sinusitis as well. Why didn’t doctors tell me it works for it instead of giving me antibiotics all the time? Which I think ended up messing up my stomach. When I was plant based My sugar level was at its lowest. Now its back up. But am anxious to do this again to feel better and be healthier. I believe this over Keto any day. When I eat cheese and too much of it. I get sick anyways. I was low on B 12’s. Now I’m on 1,000 Mg a day. So Since I’m having to take it anyway. I thought what could I loose.:) I also have acid reflux and its bothering me with other issues. I even hurt all over from it. And get headaches. I believe this will help me.:) And I crave veggies and fruits. And I’m type 2 diabetic. Wish he was my Doctor.:)
I saw Brian on Hampstead Heath the other week hunting a huge wild moose. Took it out with one shot to the brain and then carried it home over his shoulder. Beast
We’re beyond inspired by people like this who are a key driving force behind the plant-based movement and informing others. Thank you very much for all of your hard work to get the word out!
WE NEED ANIMAL PRODUCTS! ITS THE CARBS AND SUGARS THAT ARE THE PROBLEMS!
Burger King, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, all garbage. Why is Mashed pretending this isn’t the case?
It isn’t just the right side funding these agriculture industrial programs, the Dems do as well when they are in power, thanks to their lobbyists.
The Obama’s school program went over like a lead balloon, why was that, the kids dumped the food in the trash. Odd, how that is never brought up on these vegetarian programs
He’s promoting ( 25:00) feeding white sugar (dextrose) to Diabetics as beneficial?
The man is a quack. I’m sorry.
What a wonderfull story of transition to whole food plant based diet and deep healing
I don’t know why, everytime he says “animal flesh” makes me cringe
The veggie-whopper patty can’t replace meat, but it might make an okay replacement for the bread. If I’m going to eat something without meat, I’ll eat a salad or some other recipe that doesn’t have meat to begin with.
2:53…um, wait.. ELLEN invented the muckbang?!?! Holy heck!! W in the actual F?!?! Omergish.
You are amazing Dr Greger, so inspiring intelligent articulate and generous. I hope to be as charitable as you are one day soon. Thankyou from a follower in Bahrain.
No sugar, no veg.oils or to much whole grains, no processed foods is good….and then you can eat the rest! Do not listen to much to these self proclaimed nutrition gurus! They lack a bit of common sense at times….fanatics I call them…like the vegan idiots!
if someone has been eating all the wrong things for years and gotten ill of it, OF COURSE turning to plant based diets will cure you! Plant based diet is for CLEANING YOUR BODY ONLY!! Do not believe that your body will love you if you continue with the cow food for years! You will regret it! Humans are not made for plant food only! We cannot digest it properly unless it is fermented anyway!
This man is making a fallacious argument.
He starts off by saying for the last 100,000 years the food most people have eaten is starch”
And goes on to mention aztec, corn ate potato, the Asian rice.
And goes on to put down animal product.
First of all eating meat predates the eating of potato, corn and rice.
Further more just because the aztec ate potato does not discount they also ate meat. furthermore Asian included animal product in their diet.
They have 18 million subscribers and rarely get over 100k views. RIP buzzfeed
first comment was incorrect already its so easy to life without those fast food stuff, but yes its nice:) thats all. we are not all USA.. and ist not a restaurant its a snack bar:)
Thank you Dr.Klaper for a wondderful and thoughtful message. I’m so glad tofind someone that is so passionate about animal farming culture. why dogs are acceptable, and pigs or cows or sheeps or goat or duck or chicken or lamb is not an animal that’s capable to feel love or pain. thanks again for a compassionate message, and helping to change the world.
I’d love to have a link to that new ACS recommendation because I know a few cancer patients who might do well to consider it!
Thumbs up for the way you did this interview! You are well prepared (including the structure of the interview) and your questions are well formulated. You are also pretty eloquent! Dr. McDougall noticed it, too…
I couldnt eat a chicken anymore than i could eat my little chiwaw

The Rodeo King and The Big King XL are so fucking delicious
butter and garlic is very healthy. you got your dairy and garlic has many medicinal and magical properties
Genetics plays a major role in all of this.. I am 42 years old… Drank heavy for 20 years… Worked midnight shift and ate Taco Bell at 3 in the morning… I eat Bacon, Pork, Chicken… But I do say I eat all of this in moderation… I cut down on my drinking, I do eat more vegetables, but I still eat fried chicken, Pork Chops, and other meats… I’ve started lifting weight and I walk a mile a day… I lift 4 days a week and do cardio the other 3 days… I went from 270 lbs to 248 lbs in 3 months… I went to a physical for the first time in 11 years before making any of these changes… My cholesterol, liver enzymes, and blood counts were all normal… Doctor had nothing bad to say…Now there are others that can eat 2 pieces of bacon in a 2 month span and their cholesterol jumps to 190 lol… You just have to find what works for you and your body…
I have been on the starch diet for a few weeks and went from 180lbs to 187lbs.
For me maybe a calorie is still a calorie.
Im alittle bit worried about Lavanya, not to be rude or anything but she seems alittle underweight. I just want to know if shes okay. No hard feelings, and im not body shaming!!
At the Last Supper, which food did Jesus give the preeminence to? It was starch:
“Now as they were eating, Jesus took BREAD, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples” Matt 26:26
docs n nurses don’t care our taxpayers burden, nation bankrupt
you can get moringstar burgers from the frozen section of any major grocery store so………….
I love this! Please get more plant-based people on your interviews. Love to see it!
why slaughterhouse n farm workers never interviewed about their painful n dangerous jobs forced on them
The amount of calories something has does not make it healthy or unhealthy.
Talking with people about eating meat one can see how we as humans can accept things by crafting a reality that’s inconsistent with what actually happens. That’s how all violence happens, it’s rationalized and the first step is desensitizing people to their violence.
Dr Greger actually digs into the medical literature to form his opinions, unlike certain other “doctors” on Youtube.
What people gave this man thumbs down wow SMH it should be thumbs up it’s healthy stuff he is saying
All plants are poisonous its a proven fact. And your vegan food is all synthetic crap.
What was the point of this video? For it to make sense they should have compared it to other healthy item or something.
At 1:10, on the right there, grilled chicken, extra pattie (ideally), easy or no mayo. Maybe some mustard. I’ve played this game before!
I’ve come the conclusion that the key at least for me to transition to vegan was to get off dairy. That is hard for so many, especially cheese, which appears to be addictive. But the meat flavors seem to be addictive to many people also. Meat-eaters could recognize that smoking was not good for you, but what is on your fork, I know I didn’t have a clue. Most of us did not make the choice for ourselves to eat meats and dairy, but it is something we can change. But so many do not have the inner strength.
But for me, my mother and sister died of breast cancer, so did my mother-in-law, my father died of Alzheimer’s disease and my maternal grandmother with dementia. I was the care-giver for my parents, so I did see the results first-hand and I more than anything, did not want to complicate our children’s lives trying to take care of their parents because we would not transition to plant-based. This is the power of love. They know we did it for not only our own health, but to be able to help them out when they need it not to expect them to become our care-givers.
We’ve both lost 50 lbs. each, and if we lose more, my husband needs to lose more than I but I am finally at a normal BMi and am not considered obese any more. Our numbers are all good and my husband is post-cancer. He is doing so well, even got over life-long asthma going plant-based. He still isn’t fully on-board but he knows he has had benefits and that plant-based tastes good. He finally has the energy to get up and out of his chair.
I regret in no way going plant-based. I am vegan completely most days except about twice a year having an egg or two because I could not rework a recipe but I will finally figure it out. But am headed in the right direction.
What a wonderful interview! Evita, you are a wonderful listener! (A rare find today.):))) Thank you to both of you for sharing this information, I learned so much. <3 <3
everythig he says is ok except human evolution from monkeys to human, that’s whole another topic
grilled chicken sandwich, either no bun or open faced….. no condiments keep lettuce/tom/onion
Dr Gregor should beware Hollywood. There is politics in everything there. They used the good doctor. Be very careful they will suck in the good doctor, just like they did to Neil de Grasse Tyson. They can’t buy Dr Gregor so they will trick him. Dr Gregor will be persuaded to front climate change and political veganism or whatever other political agenda they are using to build identity voting blocks. I suspect he was cut from the film because he is not a political climate change vegan activist they want him to be. Beware hollywood. Beware hollyweird.
I would’ve liked to hear him elaborate on the phytic acid issue. If you believe the Weston Price Foundation, you’ll conclude that McDougall is totally blind to the way ancient peoples ate grain and the scientific basis for it. According to paleo and Weston Price devotees we never adapted to grain consumption because we discovered fermentation and learned to subject grain to extensive pre-digestion by friendly bacteria. The bacteria digested grain nutrients for us, hence making them bio-available, and this is why bread was considered the staff of life. I’ve listened to a good deal of McDougall’s lectures on youtube and I’ve never heard him say we need to eat bread leavened through sourdough fermentation instead of yeast. Were the gladiators eating yeast-leavened barley loaves? Also, it’s unscientific and contrary to evolutionary thinking to just say “God designed grains perfectly for humans.”
I ordered a hamburger at burger king (GUESS WHAT) I saw them take the Hamburg out of a hot pan of water and put it between a bun ( WHICH WAS STALE) and gave it to me as a fresh cooked burger, I WILL NEVER GO TO BURGER KING AGAIN,
Great video, thank you for your positive energy.
Blessings and Love,
Dashama
Wendy’s has amazing salad.. and you get order a burger online with no bun. sadly I can not eat burger king.
Thank you John for all your wonderful work and for being the person you are. To go into explaining how you have changed my heath and my families, well I could write a book. I’ve always been vegetarian and eaten lots of fruit, grains and veg, but giving up the oils, eggs and supplements to a real, sustainable, simple, tasty, satisfying and eco and animal friendly diet. My son is type! diabetic and is doing fantastic. My daughter had severe period problem, now she is a different person, so happy. Myself, I have so much energy and TIME! life is so much more simple with this knowledge of how to eat. Thank you.
The plant life is now being compromised with the chemtrailing or solar management / geoengineering gmo’ s n a huge amount of glycophosphate use which has now even lead to it raining on us!:(
I love how all these promotions and ideas only happen in major cities. Kinda makes me feel left out. Like there’s no grub hub or online ordering within 130 miles of where I live. Thanks BK. Lol.
I wish I had caught on sooner. I was also in cardiovascular work back in the early 70’s. I too saw open heart surgery, and was involved in a study regarding the effectiveness of medical versus surgical techniques. But here I am nearly 50 years later just catching on. I was never fully conscious that we are indeed herbivores. The bad science of Paleo lead me down the worst possible path. I was miserable. Luckily I’m made of something strong. One month in, and I hope to recover fully.
Omg Gregor has the biggest heart in this whole world! So selfless
I didn’t know Chester v from cloudy with a chance of meatballs two reccomended a plant based diet!
Your are indeed a great interviewer. Great guest as well. Thank u.
Wait.. A doctor talking about cure and not seeing a patient after treatment… Awe!
I’m shocked that there are fast food joints in hospital lobbies in the US. That is insane.
LOL, “An Alcoholic stops falling down.” Wise observation! Love this guy! ❤❤
I truly enjoyed listening to Dr. Klaper. I don’t generally watch videos beyond 20+ minutes. However, his passion, knowledge and articulation held my interest.
thank you Dr Klaper for being truthful, courageous, going against the grain and being a real doctor.
