What plant do Annatto seeds come from as I have never heard of them?
I am a hute fan of annatto. Grew up using it in spanish/puerto rican recipies. I steep it in my oil as well as water then strain the seeds out. Love, Love, Love it!

We aren’t giving up meat or eggs ( we raise our own grass fed) but we are wanting to go gluten free. I studied up on garbanzos and they look like the ticket for high protein. Blended Abode, is there a good substitute for the annato seeds? Our Walmart doesn’t carry them, and I haven’t found them at Kroger, either. Would I need to find a taco spice-type recipe or use chili powder? (P.S. I like that you two work together on the dishes!)

Excellent and simple recipe. Earlier last year, I found a similar recipe for Chickpea crackers; and yes, it was delicious with avocado and salsa.
I made these earlier in the week with my alkaline salsa & guacamole. They were so delicious. I just made some more with more salsa & guacamole. I put my Annatto Seeds in a sea salt grinder instead of my blender. That worked out well. These are a tasty alkaline snack.
ALWAYS CLEAN YOUR BLENDER CUP WITH WHITE DISTILLED VINEGAR and rinse after usage!…. Clears out all colors, orders oils ETC

You music is so annoying! I would have preferred verbal directions or even computer simulated comments. I plan on trying it. Chia Seeds are high in carbs so you may want to check the macros you listed. They are healthy, just high in carbs.

Looks like a great recipe and I will try it soon. Whole flax seeds are undigestible (and so nutritionally useless) unless ground. These looked like whole seeds. This will be a great way to use up some of my millet flour!

Nice recipe; very straightforward and easy! I prefer to grind my flax seeds. Grinding makes the seeds more easily digested, and releases their naturally nutty flavor which makes them ideal for use in baking. I’m going to try this recipe with millet flour which I have never used.

Hello, I tried the recipe but I found that the given temperature too high and first baking time (30 mins) too long I had to lower the heat after a while and take them out earlier, or they would have burnt! In the link for the recipe, it says 190°. That’s very hot….. my chips became quite dark, even though I shortened the baking time and lowered the temperature.
May both of you get divine intellect to carry on….!
